Yammers thread 10!

Yammer rules:

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement. Please read the rules before posting!

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night
  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

-Thou shalt not post pictures of positive pregnancy tests. We will be delighted to hear about it but no photos, please and thank you

Really glad I'm not working tomorrow. Have appointments with a dietician and a diabetic educator. My endocrinologist, who I met yesterday, agrees with my obstetrician that I should be treated for gestational diabetes from the beginning of my next pregnancy... in fact she wants to start now since I want to try for a pregnancy ASAP. It's slightly complicated by the fact that I can't tolerate metformin, so it will either be diet control alone or diet + insulin. I've also started on a small dose of thyroxine for my thyroid - I didn't realise you can't have dairy for 2 hours either side of taking it!

36 hours until my fertility specialist appointment!!! (I'm totally not counting down :P)

Bleed has gotten heavier, cramping as well. Feels like AF. Trying to be positive but I think it hasn't taken ☹️

@BGDino metformin can be really hard to tolerate 😷 Have they talked about other medications like gliclazide? I know it's used for T2 and I'm sure I've seen it mentioned in the NICE guidelines for GD. Sounds like you've got a really good team though!

Well, still bleeding and in pain this morning. On bed rest for the rest of the week. Trying to be hopeful but I'm not confident it's worked. So disappointed ☹️

Hello again. I haven't been able to keep up with the thread very well. Hope you're all ok. Have been on holiday in the USA since Saturday night, AF was due Sunday. I took a test the day before I left so as I wouldn't feel down on 1st day of hol when AF showed up. It was BFN, disappointing but pleased to be on hol.
It's now Weds, so a couple of days 'late'. Of course it could be due to change of routine, time differences, mild stress, busy few days etc ... but the wondering & waiting is getting in the way of my holiday!! Should I buy a test or wait a couple of days. I don't know if I can bare seeing another BFN test.

@SuziQ10 I had a BFN at 10DPO with a FRER when I was pregnant. I don't want to give you false hope but maybe have one there and see how things go. Then if you want a drink it'll be worth taking to be sure x

@SuziQ10 stress etc can delay ovulation but if you've already ovulated then I can't imagine it would delay AF. I'd personally test again but I'm a compulsive tester!

After so many months of testing I should be used to waiting to test and BFNs. Just did a test as couldn't wait till morning. First thought BFN, but in the right light..??

I usually have bad line eyes Suzi, but I'm pretty sure I can see something there. Don't want to get your hopes up but maybe worth testing again in a day or two?

Also, thanks all for the kind messages. It sucks and the bleeding is really unpleasant but trying to stay positive for round 2 😊

Saw my fertility specialist today. Am having blood test tomorrow to start a round of ovulation induction 😁

@fairyann so sorry to hear about the bleeding. If there's still a chance for this one then fingers crossed for that, but if not then fingers crossed for round 2.

BFN yesterday for me and came on this morning so didn't even get to hope for very long! That's the end of the 17th cycle since we started TTC. You really think you'd be used to the disappointment but something inside you hopes every time doesn't it! Really struggling to accept that nothing's wrong even though all the tests came back ok - there must be a reason for this! Going back to the doctors tonight and I'm going to ask for another ovulation blood test.

@inquisitivebadger sorry for AF, I hope your doctors appointment goes well.

I've done a ridiculous amount of OPKs the last couple of days and none of them are quite positive. I'm not sure I've ever had one that I'd say was an obvious positive. Sometimes I ovulate after the nearly positive ones but a lot of the times I don't. Just waiting to see if I get a temp rise now, it dipped this morning.

First blood test done this morning, was called by fertility nurse just before lunch with instructions. Starting 7 days’ Provera today to bring on a withdrawal bleed, and to start letrozole on the first day of bleeding to induce ovulation. Unlikely it will work first time round for a second time, but cross your crossables for me ladies!!!

I had what looked like a positive OPK and a temp dip yesterday. Hoping that means ovulation. Such a rarity! Will be gutted if my temp doesn't start going up tomorrow.

I did a 2nd test & there was a slight second line on that one too. However heavy AF arrived today (4 or 5 days 'late'). All confusing. Confused
