Hi All,

In the tww of my first cycle trying for my first baby.... learning so much reading through some of these threads! Would be lovely to have people to talk to that are going through the same thing!

@Danimarie I think they're both good, but I prefer Flo, probably just because I've been using it longer so more familiar with it. I find the calendar view on Flo easier to read than Ovia. You can record more symptoms on Ovia, which I found overwhelming to start with, but if you go into the settings you can remove the things you don't want to record which makes it easier. They're very similar really and both good to use so I wouldn't say I have a strong preference.

Danimarie · 01/04/2019 15:32

Thank you! I’ll download it and start using Flo I think! Luckily I use the Clearblue ovulation tests too so I know my most fertile days - I’m very regular which helps too!

@EvelineUK your app and OPK sounds very clever!

Morning All,

How is everyone doing? I feel rubbish today! Woke up feeling like I hadn't slept at all and feel like a cold is coming (felt like this for the last week but nothing is happening)!

Morning @Tchelsea, oh no! Not nice! I am with you on the feeling tired and like you're not getting a full proper sleep, so frustrating!

I haven't had much going on symptom wise so I don't want to get my hopes up, AF is due a week today so I don't know whether to do an early test at the weekend or just see if I can hold out till next week? 🤔

Hello all...woke up feeling tired and miserable this morning....had horrible pains in my stomach yesterday evening/night....felt like trapped wind pains...woke up feeling bloated and still uncomfortable, cd34 still no af, negative test yesterday! 😔 really would have loved a duvet day today instead of work...finding it hard to put my customer service face on today!!

Goodyear2019 · 03/04/2019 13:03

Sorry to hear some of you aren't feeling well, hope it doesn't last long.
I'd probably wait to test. If I tested early and got a negative and probably try to convince myself it was too early and end up testing again at a later date anyway.

I've nothing to report, just waiting patiently for next ovulation...feels like its taking ages :-(

als2912 · 03/04/2019 13:15

@Goodyear2019 Yeah I think I may wait till next week otherwise it will end up costing me a fortune in tests! 🙈 this whole thing just feels like a constant waiting game doesn't it!

@Hoping87 Sorry to hear you're not feeling 100% it's really putting you through the paces isn't it! 👎🏼

Tchelsea · 03/04/2019 14:57

Yeah I'm the same @als2912 literally no symptoms different to my normal ovulation and AF symptoms, so think it might be a 2020 baby over here!

@Hoping87 Ahhh I'm sorry you're unwell! Can you take a couple of days holiday and relax for the rest of the week?

@Goodyear2019 I almost think the wait from AF starting to ovulation can be worse than TWW cause you just want to start trying again!

@ImMeantToBeWorking How are you doing? Think it's been a few since you posted last. Hope all is ok!

Danimarie · 04/04/2019 11:24

@ImMeantToBeWorking I’ve been using the Clearblue digital ovulation kit which is easy to use and I feel is quite accurate although I haven’t been successful as yet!

Hoping87 · 04/04/2019 12:31

Feeling a lot better today...luckily I’m not working tomorrow anyway so got a nice long weekend! I changed my cycle length to 54 days this morning on my flo app, so it has recalculated when I’m ovulating....we shall see....

als2912 · 04/04/2019 12:59

@Hoping87 glad to hear you're feeling better 😊

Goodyear2019 · 04/04/2019 13:11

@Hoping that's great the you're feeling better, enjoy your long weekend!

I'm going to try the SMEP method this month. We kinda followed it last month but missed a night or two with my husband being away for work.

als2912 · 04/04/2019 13:38

@Goodyear2019 just had to google what that was haha but that sounds like a really good plan! If nothing happens for me this month I may try that too next month 👍🏼

Tchelsea · 04/04/2019 14:11

@Hoping87 AH great news! A long weekend sounds marvellous. Most jealous! Hopefully Flo will be a bit more accurate for you now!

@Goodyear2019 I've been thinking about this too! Can you do it for any cycle length or is it based on a 28 day cycle?

OP posts:
Goodyear2019 · 04/04/2019 14:16

@als2912 I had to google it to when it was mentioned on here, glad I'm not the only one haha!
@Tchelsea I think you could do it for any length of cycle. This is the instructions I'm following. I guess if you have a longer cycle you might not want to test as early as day 15?
In order to ensure sperm and egg meet, you will “try” every other day starting on the eighth day of your cycle. The timing of this is based on how long sperm live, realistically a few days under ideal conditions. On the tenth day of your cycle you will begin daily testing with OPKs (ovulation prediction kits) and upon receiving a positive OPK you will “try” 3 more days in a row. Skip one day and give it one more try. Then the waiting begins… if your period has not arrived 15 days after your positive OPK, take a home pregnancy test.

Danimarie · 04/04/2019 14:52

@als2912 me too! 🤣 I hadn’t heard of SMEP either but I’m tempted to give it a go! Thanks for the info @Goodyear2019

Sending lots of luck to you all!

Chocol4te · 04/04/2019 21:56

We are TTC (trying to conceive) for 3 months now, not long I know but I am becoming really impatient now haha, I was on a pill for ages and stopped taking it last May, we've just started to conceive this year in Jan, my period was never regular and quite long, now I am on day 41 (never had a cycle this long) and took few tests all negative, I am monitoring ovulation with Clear Blue Digital and got a peak on day 15 , but now 26 days later no period no BFP (big fat positive), I am pretty sure I am not pregnant even if I had a couple of symptoms but what I am wondering is do I need to wait for AF to come before TTC (trying to conceive) again? Can I ovulate without AF to come ? I don't understand what my body is doing ☹️

Goodyear2019 · 05/04/2019 09:30

Hi @Chocol4te welcome! You will need to wait for AF before TTC again as you won't ovulate again until after your next AF. Although there's no harm in DTD anyway lol! Cycles can take a while to settle down after coming off the pill, but if you normally have long cycles it's probably nothing to worry about. Maybe ask for your doctor to check if you're concerned?

ImMeantToBeWorking · 05/04/2019 15:18

Hi @Tchelsea yes all is good - I was just so busy in work so I hadn't a second to get on!!

@Goodyear, I would love to try SMEP but as himself works away it would never work!! :(

@Hoping, I am glad you are feeling better today! Enjoy the weekend. Hopefully the weather keeps up! I am going to try get out for a long walk with himself and our fur baby on Sunday, nothing makes me feel better than a long walk in a pretty park!!

@Chocol4te we started around the same time it seems. unlike you I am never late, and my 2nd cycle I was a day late and I was convinced I was pregnant (despite having a BFN) as I had not had any of the signs that AF was coming. But she did arrive. Ah well!

I just realised that the message I posted before the one to Eveline never posted!! I can't even remember what I said now though!!

ImMeantToBeWorking · 05/04/2019 15:19

@Eveling, it was a new post...
