@AngeloMysterioso what would you do with the trapped semen?

cupcakesandglitter · 31/01/2019 23:01

@AngeloMysterioso if I remember right someone on this thread did do it, and she and her partner used a syringe and then mooncup to keep it in - I think it was @GemmaJen but I'm so sorry if I've tagged the wrong person, it was a few threads ago xx

@KatBeCool the idea is that after the whole legs in the air bit is over (if you bother with that) you can get up, go for a wee, get a drink of water or whatever without all that sperm coming straight back out again. Dunno about anyone else but my vagina is not a one-way street! So I can go to sleep knowing that I'm not gonna be lying in a puddle of potential babies the minute I relax my pelvic floor muscles.

KatBeCool · 31/01/2019 23:29

@AngeloMysterioso hmm. Not to brag somehow, since it's not an achievement, but I can make it across the house, get something to drink, and then go to the loo and it'll all come out. Apparently that isn't normal lol. But if, god forbid, I sneeze, it's game over. But I do recommend kegel exercise, it helps against unexpected waterfalls.

AngeloMysterioso · 31/01/2019 23:32

I can manage that too, but I'd rather just be able to relax and not worry about it, and go to the loo straight away without it all spilling out.

GemmaJen · 01/02/2019 05:04

Not me @cupcakesandglitter, but I do hear the Mosie Baby is meant to be good for home use.

FlapJackered · 01/02/2019 06:34

Can someone tell me to chill the fuck out please! 😂
11dpo and I am getting way too over excited and I just know it's going to end in tears and disappointment. The fact is my temp should still be up until Sunday but a high temp this morning and I am all over the place thinking I am definitely pregnant! 😂 These last few days are actual torture. 😩

@MrsMcNtobe it's so frustrating when you are putting so much work in and hitting the right times that it just doesn't happen isn't it.
I never realised how much of a challenge ttc would be.

KatBeCool · 01/02/2019 07:02

@FlapJackered uff, I can't help but to be so hopeful that it's your month! You've been waiting for so long. Pinkish cm is such a promising sign. I'm no help... I'd be just as excited and impatient as you are. Just keep yourself busy for the next couple of days.

granddesigns · 01/02/2019 08:10

Morning all - just checking in to check me out of the running again. AF arrived overnight so not this cycle. Am now geared up with Glow and ov testing strips for next month however wondering what will be different as 95% sure I felt ovulation last cycle with a sharp pain lasting a couple of hours on ovulation day - duly dtd that night and still in this position today. Trying not to get down about it but can't help wondering! Good luck to all still on board and waiting!

BlueArtemis · 01/02/2019 08:53

Morning everyone, just a quick update to say that I gave in and tested last night, BFN Sad I'm now on CD 38, AF is 5 days late and this is my longest cycle ever! I just feel so confused, I've had all kinds of symptoms in the last week but I guess I must have been imagining it Confused I feel like I'm losing the plot a bit!

I just wish that AF would hurry up and come now so I can move on with my life. Does anyone have any tips on how I could make my cycles shorter?? TTC involves enough waiting without random 40 day cycles as well!!

Hope everyone else is doing okay with the snow today Smile

cupcakesandglitter · 01/02/2019 09:00

Omg @FlapJackered I really hope this is it for you!!!🤞🏽🤞🏽 xx

Sorry about AF @granddesigns xx

@BlueArtemis have you tried one with FMU today? Maybe you ovulated late? Xx

Morning and Happy Friday Ladies!!!

@BostonFern CD 6 for me and last day of AF was Wednesday and to be fair I was only spotting then. So I am hoping to get my surge on CD11-12 but will start the OPKs on CD8 to make sure I catch it. Glad glow is working for you 😉. I use it to check my OPKs if I am doubting myself ha.

@thumper I currently have 2 spare rooms a his and a hers but OH will get a shock when we do get pregnant as it will become a babies and a hers haha.

@Jessikka weather permitting me and the OH were going to do another big walk this weekend but we will have to see. If not I am thinking...snow angels??

@FlapJackered you know what get excited, why shouldn't you. It's a positive attitude to have and can only help matters. Yes it could end in tears but you know what, you've picked yourself up before and cracked on. You need to be able to enjoy this and imagine if it is a BFP and all you did was mope around. This could be your time!!! FX it is x

@granddesigns sorry to hear about AF but you will have piece of mind if you know for definite when you ovulated. Plus OPKS give you the opportunity to DTD before you ovulate not just on the day of ovulation.

@BlueArtemis You are probably best speaking to your doctor because you don't want to make things harder work. Is this not a one off thing? Plus you aren't out yet. Some people don't get a positive for weeks.

@MrsMcNtobe don't give up hope and don't be so harsh on yourself, it will happen.

As for the mooncup thingy I don't really understand it. I have read that the crap that comes out of you basically never made it far enough. The ones that did are up there doing their thing. So holding it in isn't going to make a difference, it either made it far enough or didn't...I could be wrong though?

starkid · 01/02/2019 10:33

@BlueArtemis - definitely test again with FMU rather than at night I reckon! Fx for you.

Fx for everyone else who aren't quite out yet either. It's been such a positive January, here's to February!

Pretty sure it is AF just starting properly this morning, still very light though but for now am considering myself on Cycle 6, CD1 Sad
Ah well, onwards! I forgot to get my test results from the doctors last night but will definitely get them this evening.

starkid · 01/02/2019 10:38

At least it will be easy to work out cycle days for me this month, with it starting on the 1st of the month (trying desperately to see the silver lining haha!)

MrsMcNtobe · 01/02/2019 10:47

@daydreamer1707 @Flapjackered I honestly never imagined it to be this hard. I know the doctors usually want you to wait a year but I’m thinking of speaking to them anyway, a bit concerned about the pain I get during AF and the fact I’ve very rarely got any CM xx

DayDreamer1707 · 01/02/2019 11:01

@MrsMcNtobe I might be wrong but how do the doctors actually know how long you have been trying for? Why can't you go and say it's been a year and explain the pains etc too? x

starkid · 01/02/2019 11:06

@MrsMcNtobe - Sorry you're finding it hard xx
From my experience of going to the doctors before the year mark, it was all about process with them, it being to wait for the full year no matter if you have cause for concern (I have a pre-existing condition and previous surgeries which I've already been told afterwards might make it difficult, but the doctor still couldn't organise any scans etc). I was given the day 21 hormone test very begrudgingly, and told I can go back in May as that was when I came off the pill etc, even if we didn't properly start trying until September (not that they know that!).

Of course other doctors surgeries/GPs might be different, that was just my experience. Might be worth trying just to see if you can have the hormone test too?

starkid · 01/02/2019 11:07

@DayDreamer1707 - Mine would have known differently from my pill prescription dates.

MrsMcNtobe · 01/02/2019 11:08

@DayDreamer1707 well I’d mentioned to my doctor that we were kinda trying in March last year but in June I took a mini breakdown and ended up getting the mini pill and antidepressants and I stopped the mini pill after a month since then we’ve been 100% trying so I might go back and see what they say x

MrsMcNtobe · 01/02/2019 11:10

@Starkid what did the hormone test involve? That’s really all I’m looking for and maybe a test to make sure I’ve no cysts etc x

starkid · 01/02/2019 11:15

MrsMcNtobe - It was just a blood test taken on cycle day 21 (or thereabouts - sometime between predicted ovulation and predicted AF, they'll advise on when is best for you to book it for).
But if you make an appointment and explain how you only took a 1 month break with contraception, the doctor might take that into consideration and make your year-mark be in March :)

FlapJackered · 01/02/2019 13:25

@KatBeCool @cupcakesandglitter @DayDreamer1707 thanks guys! So glad I have you to vent to! ❤️

@MrsMcNtobe I told a white lie about how long we had been trying, at 7 months I said we had been trying a year, and I am glad I did as I spoke to my doctor today about getting referred to the fertility clinic for more tests and she said I have to wait until we have been trying for 2 years. 😩

starkid · 01/02/2019 13:31

@FlapJackered - oh my god, why do you have to wait for 2 years?! Is that for anything, or have you had other scans/tests already?

FlapJackered · 01/02/2019 13:41

@starkid I know it's balls isn't it! I have had the day 3 and day 21 tests but for any further tests I have to wait for the 2 year mark. 👎🏻
