@FlapJackered Jeezo 2 years is a lifetime when you’re TTC 😞

cupcakesandglitter · 01/02/2019 14:33

@FlapJackered that's shit, did he say why it was two years? What's the point in being able to go to the doc after a year just be told to wait another 😡

OP posts:
MrsAW2018 · 01/02/2019 14:43

@FlapJackered @cupcakesandglitter @MrsMcNtobe @starkid my doctor said 2 years too😩 "luckily" as I've got PCOS she said I might be able to have tests done sooner.

cupcakesandglitter · 01/02/2019 14:53

@MrsAW2018 oh bloody hell. That's so horrible, so annoying that we have to wait forever! Sorry it's no better for you either 😩❤️

OP posts:
cupcakesandglitter · 01/02/2019 14:55

Could someone please remind me the name of that funny TTC podcast? X

OP posts:
MrsAW2018 · 01/02/2019 14:55

@cu

starkid · 01/02/2019 14:56

That truly sucks, sorry both of you :( Mine said 1 year, hopefully they don't change their mind when May comes!

MrsAW2018 · 01/02/2019 14:57

Oops @cupcakesandglitter I thought it was just the normal time to wait until someone IRL said most people only wait a year, six months If you're over 35 I think😩 and I think the podcast was called 'Big Fat Negative' if that's the one you mean!

FlapJackered · 01/02/2019 15:03

@cupcakesandglitter yes it's Big Fat Negative - i was just listening to their sperm one which was really interesting. Such a good podcast!

cupcakesandglitter · 01/02/2019 15:21

Yeah @MrsAW2018 it's a year under 35, or six months over - annoying that you then have to wait longer!! BFN is what I was after!

@FlapJackered thank you, I'm gonna start listening to it xx

What do you ladies think... Is this nearly there? Or positive? Doing SMEP so OPKs are important!!

TTC FIRST BABY - Thread 12! [edited by MNHQ at OP's request]
starkid · 01/02/2019 17:03

@MrsAW2018 - Ooh that's so close, I'd do another one in a couple of hours!
Then if that's fainter, I would take this one as a positive. Whether that's right or not I don't know, that's what I do anyway

MrsAW2018 · 01/02/2019 17:08

Thanks @starkid thought it was close but not quite there so thought I'd get my reliable line eye experts to check it out for me 😄

KatBeCool · 01/02/2019 17:54

@MrsAW2018 so close! Don't get discouraged if it gets lighter. Happened to me this cycle and two days later it was a positive as it can be. But normally I get a steady progression so hopefully you do too. Keep testing until you go to sleep.

starkid · 01/02/2019 18:24

Ok guys I have my 21 day blood test results back. What should I be looking out for? There's all sorts, and I don't know/understand any of them! Some have a handy little guide saying mid-cycle, luteal, post menopause and the normal ranges for them, so that's useful.

I found TSH which @KatBeCool & @FlapJackered was asking me about, it says 2.9 mu/L for that one. Think that's fine, it's in the middle of the 0.3-5.5 range.

Should I just write them all and see what people can see that's relevant? 😂 honestly clueless here haha

BabySquid · 01/02/2019 21:00

Hi guys. Checking in here. Still getting my light cramps and V tender boobs. Think I'm def going to retest in the morning!

cupcakesandglitter · 01/02/2019 22:01

@starkid I'd post all of them - I don't know anything about numbers though but I'm sure someone here will xx

@BabySquid fx for you, hopefully you get your BFP xx

So this is the second day of feeling really sad and just wanting to cry for no reason. I have depression but actually this isn't that, this is just for no reason, feels like it could be a hormonal thing 🤷🏻‍♀️ I've been checking my cervix and it's now super high and soft, not sure if that means anything. Other than that I've drank shitloads of water today, and have had sticky cm - I've got that heavy feeling like AF is coming but there's nothing at all. Maybe she'll turn up in the next few days... DH is at work and won't be back for a couple of hours. Feeling super sorry for myself, ate some chocolate and had a random nap 😂 reading this back, this is like a diary entry. Needed to offload sorry 😂😂 x

starkid · 01/02/2019 22:18

@cupcakesandglitter - sorry you're having a hard time. I really hope it's your month! I've had a particularly shitty first cycle day- cramps, back pain, tired, sad, the lot!

Ok, here's my stats for anyone interested. If anyone can shed any light that'll be fab haha. They do all seem to be in the right range... but then I know if I have problems they're physical not hormonal. Anyway:

Sex hormone binding globulin level- 64nmol/L [25.0-122.0]
Testosterone level-1.3 nmol/L [0.2-1.7] (Quite close to the high end there?)
Androgen index- 2.0 [

starkid · 01/02/2019 22:29

(Just wanted to say I'm sorry if seeing these results upset anyone who have had abnormal results back at all, when these are reported as normal. I just thought some people might be interested, but sorry if not xx )

KatBeCool · 02/02/2019 03:16

@starkid don't feel sorry for your results! Was there an AMH number? FSH in the luteal phase should be 1.7-7.7 and low number is good, not bad. Your TSH is a bit high, ideally you want it under 2 if you're ttc. I'd ask for the lowest dose of levothyroxine. When not ttc, up to 4.5 is fine. I know vitamin D isn't a normal test, but I'd ask for one.

Why am I awake... Hungry, and need pastries.

FlapJackered · 02/02/2019 07:10

Haha! @KatBeCool pastries at 3am, I love it! My DH woke me up at 6am snoring as he has a cold. I swear he is so irritating when he is ill. I'm so unsympathetic! 😂
When is af due for you?

@starkid as Kat said the TsH is a little high but I doubt it would cause a problem, as it's only just over. I would chat to your gp anyway though, and say to them that you have found studies that suggest under 2 is optimal for ttc.

@cupcakesandglitter I am sorry you're feeling rough hun. It's probably that pesky rise in progesterone! I hope your DH came back and managed to cheer you up.
Not long for us to wait now hopefully. X

I am 12dpo and battling with the urge to test. I just know if I test now and it's negative I will be sad and stuck in this cycle until Monday which would be so depressing. I just hate that I have got my hopes up this cycle. It's going to be a long fall when it's inevitably a bfn. 😩

19Bee2 · 02/02/2019 08:11

Good morning everyone and happy Saturday. I've had a ridiculously busy week at work but have been following along with everyone.
I'm currently on CD38 (normally 30-32). BFN x 2. No signs of period. Feel SO frustrated. In a similar position to you @BlueArtemis I just wish it would turn up so we could get onto cycle 2. I didn't ovulate in October according to temps (although cycle was still 32 days) and this month has been a little unclear too. Perhaps I didn't ovulate. What a frustrating first month of TTC!
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend!

starkid · 02/02/2019 09:15

@KatBeCool - no all the tests I have done I've posted. Thanks for the feedback on the fsh, don't have high hopes of the doctor doing anything about it as she said no further action required 😩

@19Bee2 how frustrating for you 😓

BostonFern · 02/02/2019 09:15

Morning!
@KatBeCool I was also awake at 3am, ended up having a bath and got back to sleep just before 5am-although it was a very restless sleep.
@19Bee2 and @BlueArtemis sorry you're in limbo at the moment.
CD8 and Clue reckons I have a couple of days until I enter my FW. Currently also feeling v hungry all the time-that might be the cold weather though!

TrashKitten10 · 02/02/2019 09:15

@KatBeCool Mmm, pastries! I've got some maple pecan plaits in the freezer I'm trying to resist Grin

@FlapJackered I'm the one with a cold and snoring issues this week, it's driving DH mad haha. However I'm sure your DH is far more poorly and suffering a terrible bout of man flu ☺️

@19Bee2 That's super frustrating! You say you're busy at work, are you stressed? Has that ever affected your cycles? Your first month of TTC is precisely the wrong time for your cycle to start doing weird things 😩
