Hi all,

Due to ovulate today/tomorrow-ish, cycle 1 after having a mc at 7+5 in November.

Have got all the usual ovulation symptoms last 48 hours, so today I thought I'd have the gloop (a nurse described it as that to me, gross but maybe best fitting description!!!), no sign of it yet so i'll try to dtd tonight and tomorrow.

I've been doing the tilting my hips back and lying flat afterwards the past few days, who knows if it makes any difference!!!

Fingers crossed for everyone xxxx

Did anyone else find last cycle's TWW really drag on? I think because I was off work between Christmas and New Year it just seemed to take forever. And then AF at the end.

Hopefully this month flies by and we all get our BFPs. Good luck everyone!

Explorers10 · 20/01/2019 18:59

@2018isanewyear

@ambs81

Really sorry to hear about both your mcs Sad great to hear you both ovulating!

@2018isanewyear Every other day they say is enough so think you have it covered but keep going every day if you can.

@ambs81 I do the same too with legs in the air for half an hour after but sometimes my little one comes looking for me so my husband has to keep her occupied!!

Sorry about for losses @wildflower19 and @2018isanewyear Flowers

@2018isanewyear that is a lot of BDing!! Far more than me. You should definitely be covered! Hope you get your BFP.

Explorers10 · 20/01/2019 19:04

@littleredcup

Yes really dragged I was off work too & I was hoping for good news too so I could join the sept baby boom as they say lots of people fall pregnant around Xmas time. Never mind

Strange one but can people please explain some of the abbreviations??

I've clueless...

I've figured out DTD and TTC!!!

But what is AF and BFP?

HMIB · 20/01/2019 19:20

@Ambs81

AF Is Aunt Flo and BFP Is big fat positive 😊. X

2018isanewyear · 20/01/2019 19:28

Thanks all! Really hoping it's our month (same goes for you guys) this is the first time in a few months I have used OPKs and I wasn't expecting a smiley until Thursday. Stupidly thinking now that may be why we are yet get the bfp but just simply doing it at the wrong time. Hopefully it's a simple as that 🤞🏼

Ambs81 · 20/01/2019 19:52

@2018isanewyear

I was also told by a nurse that count opk as being 24 hours behind, so static smiley is better day to do the deed then flashing smiley days...as that could be too late in ovulation.

I’m yet to use one, but family member is a fertility testing nurse at LH, she has told me some interesting bits and bobs

I’m yet to know if they’ll make a difference!

2018isanewyear · 20/01/2019 20:00

I only got the ones that had the two most fortune days the ones with the flashing smiley were twice the price, I know getting a bfp would be priceless but we're on month 12 now 😩

Cinderella812 · 20/01/2019 20:28

Clue tells me I'm ovulating on Wednesday... (based purely on timings from previous cycles - not using OPKs yet). It's reassuring to know that there are ladies out there in the same position. I quite like that some of us are pretty closely synced!

Day 2 of a 6-day fertile window now, and DH has yet to initiate anything. He doesn't like me to initiate, and he doesn't like me to tell him when the FW is, due to pressure etc. It's on the calendar, so he can look if he wants to, but I don't think he does. Effectively, we only "do the couple's dance" (ha!) if and when he happens to feel like it. In an ideal world, we would try multiple times during the FW, but my husband is a once-a-week (or less) sort of chap. I really hope we don't miss the opportunity this month.

CaramelCluster · 20/01/2019 20:55

Hey ladies mind if I pop in? I'm due to ovulate at the very end of this coming week. I got my fingers crossed for all you ladies and looking forward to sharing some success stories! x

2018isanewyear · 21/01/2019 14:38

How is everyone getting on? I suppose I'm in the dreaded tww now! Still going to dtd for the next couple
Of days to make sure we have it covered and then it's just fingers crossed I guess.

Cinderella812 · 21/01/2019 16:18

I think I may be ovulating a little earlier than Clue predicted... just from changes in CM. But we have not DTD at all yet in this FW (on Day 3 now), because my husband has not been working and not in the mood.

(But I think he has managed to collect all of his bonuses on Fortnite, which is the main thing...) Wink

If he doesn't pounce on me tomorrow, I shall be quite disappointed!

veeboo · 21/01/2019 17:40

Hi all. I'm in the same boat. Had static smiley on clearblue opk yesterday so taking ovulation as today. Dtd yesterday and today so fx.

mussie · 21/01/2019 17:51

Hey all, I'm joining the thread if that's ok!

Due to ovulate tomorrow. Had positive OPKs (the cheapie onestep ones) yesterday and today, and temps are still low. I've started using natural cycles now, finding it really helpful. If anyone wants a discount, dm me.

I'm on cycle 7 (mc in October), CD21, TTC #1. I have longish cycles but a short luteal phase, so AF/BFP due 31st Jan.

I'm so nervous, I had really really thought last cycle was the one, and it was such a kick in the teeth when AF arrived. Looking forward to the wait with you guys! Hopefully we get lots of BFPs!

mussie · 21/01/2019 17:53

And @Cinderella812 , that must be so tough! Can you not pounce on him?! Though I suppose if you think you'll only have one shot in a week, you probably want to save the seduction routine for the day before ovulation! Best of luck

Explorers10 · 21/01/2019 18:42

@cinderella812 gosh really hope he gets in the mood soon!!!

All exciting you starting to get smiley faces on opk. Will start using the opk tomorrow so need to patiently wait until I get a smiley face. Is it me but the clearblue opk seem to take ages waiting for the result. I will be in the work loo tomorrow for a long time waiting!!!

OP posts:
2018isanewyear · 21/01/2019 19:03

@Explorers10 I have noticed (by accident) that if the result disappears which is after 10 mins I think then if you eject and put it back in it shows the result again. I don't know if your supposed to do it or if
It effects the result? May be an idea if you can't wait round maybe pop it in bag and check later. Would practice with one that's not likely to be smiley though incase it doesn't work for you.

I'm feeling poorly 'man flu' kindled passed
On from DH, trying to stay awake for Dtd later!

ChikiTIKI · 21/01/2019 19:25

Does anyone ever get OPKs showing negative but the test line is quite visible (but not dark enough) and then have the test line get quite faint the next day?

I wasn't supposed to have ovulated yet but the line has suddenly got much lighter instead of darker...

Explorers10 · 21/01/2019 19:37

@2018isanewyear

I will give it a go thanks for the tip! Must be stuff going round. My husband just come home from work and is all ill! Hope you feel better soon! & it’s just what we need in time for trying! Sad

OP posts:
mussie · 21/01/2019 19:59

@ChikiTIKI if you waited a whole day in between, it's possible that you missed your surge altogether. It can be very quick. Or it's perhaps just that the urine was more dilute the second time?

ChikiTIKI · 21/01/2019 20:12

Thanks @mussie
Ugh it's so stressful!!!! Did have sex last night so hopefully if I have ovulated we did it at the right time.

Will keep doing the tests just to see what happens....

2018isanewyear · 21/01/2019 20:20

Yes last week he was stuck in bed so I'm glad he is feeling up to the task this week. I don't care how ill I am won't be bad enough. Two days to go 😂
