@MrsAW2018 thank you! I wasn't aware there was an app lol, i have now downloaded it. X

MrsAW2018 · 11/01/2019 14:44

@Beddie11 you're welcome - I find the app much easier to navigate than the website! X

Hey @DayDreamer1707 welcome back! Hope you're doing okay!

@Scotslass55 sorry to hear you think you're out 😔when are you due AF?

Bettythecat · 11/01/2019 14:50

@MrsAW2018 this is cycle 5 for me which I know isn't long in the scheme of things but as you all know feels like an eternity. I feel like my life is in limbo waiting for this to happen and it's such a lonely thing isn't it.

MrsAW2018 · 11/01/2019 15:01

@Bettythecat yes it's so lonely, this thread keeps me sane! I remember someone saying on here a few threads back that if they knew it would happen one day then it wouldn't be so bad but it's the not knowing for definite that's the hardest part😔

ImMeantToBeWorking · 11/01/2019 15:26

Hi All, I have 4 days of my pill left before I come off it to start TTC. Excited and nervous. We have waited for this for so long.

I won't be too upset if not pregnant straight away as we have a cruise booked for April with all inclusive alcohol!! Gin Gin but what's for you will not pass you! Grin

Best of luck to all on here!

starkid · 11/01/2019 15:44

@MrsAW2018 - definitely agree it's the not knowing if it will ever happen that's the hardest Sad

Bettythecat · 11/01/2019 15:55

@starkid @MrsAW2018 I also find the not knowing what's actually going on inside your body really hard. We obviously have clues from the OPKs and temping and CM but we don't ever 100% know what's happening and during the TWW even more so- I always feel so stupid for restricting myself with booze etc and symptom spotting when I'm never pregnant.

Muddypaws12 · 11/01/2019 18:02

I was just reading the comments above about feeling lonely and the unknown! I completely feel the same. On one hand I want to desperately talk about it so much to everyone I know, yet it is something I also do not want to talk to anyone about. My DH is fab! I can’t criticise him, but even he is not aware of the POAS addiction and endless googling!

If the magical crystal ball was working this time last year I’d have just started this journey earlier. We’re only cycle 5ish but feels FOREVER!
It’s a little battle with an imaginary opponent!

Wishing everyone a weekend of POS’s, baby dancing and wine if AF turns up!

AnnaMC214 · 11/01/2019 18:58

I'm hoping any of you who are good at CM tracking can advise. So I had a positive opk on Monday along with tons of EWCM so figured I probably O'd Tuesday/Wednesday and with DH away we'd missed it and were out for the month. However, I've now had a load more EWCM today. Anyone know what that's all about?!

Scotslass55 · 11/01/2019 19:19

Thanks @MrsAW2018 due on Monday. Normally preceded by couple of days on/ off cramps with spotting, rise in temperature and generally PMT feeling which is what seems to be going on today. All in line with the usual pattern. It’s the first time I’ve felt properly down about it, as I’d let myself get a bit carried away this month. I’ll need to return to healthy realism next month I think!

KatBeCool · 11/01/2019 19:25

@FlapJackered I got it scheduled for next week. I have a feeling though that after that I'm going to be prescribed some medicine.

@Scotslass55 I'm so drowning my sorrow in sugar! I went ahead and got myself ice cream for... completely justified sulking purposes. But I do need to exercise more regularly.

@AnnaMC214 I often have ewcm for 2-5 days after I ovulate. Maybe it's the leftovers?

Scotslass55 · 11/01/2019 19:45

@Katbecooln- mmmmmm, I’ve cream!

You ladies know everything on here, so what’s the deal on male weight and fertility? How big a negative is it? My husband is tall and broad shouldered and over the last few years bigger than he has ever been before. He’s massively sensitive about it, and he knows he needs to get healthier, but he’s very much someone who has to do things in his own time and nagging from me will never work. I steer completely clear of the topic. He’s been really fit in the past, he’s strong as an ox, and he’s not stupid so knows the risks etc. I hate it but I love him and have to trust him. A lot of the reasons his lack of energy and activity are work stress related and there are changes ongoing which are helping that massively.

Last night he asked me, in a sleepy cuddly way, what he could do to get me pregnant. Of course it’s not that simple. But I immediately thought “lose a fair bit of weight” which I would love him to do anyway for health reasons. But it’s a sensitive topic like I say.

Ladies in my phone who know all about TTC - is it likely that would be making any difference? I’d think my age is a bigger stumbling block.

Scotslass55 · 11/01/2019 19:57

I wish there was an edit button to fix my typos! Must learn to preview!

cupcakesandglitter · 11/01/2019 20:17

@Scotslass55 my DH is the biggest he's ever been too - we've discussed it because weight (for both) is such a big factor. We've started going to the gym together again and trying to push each other to eat healthier... that being said, someone I know was the biggest guy I've ever seen (morbidly obese) and he managed to get his wife pregnant on the third cycle so I'm unsure 🤷🏻‍♀️😩 I've also seen a lot of women on threads too that have been quite large when they got pregnant too. I guess it's not clear really but I guess the best thing to do would be to have that honest conversation with him (plus exercise I think improves sperm quality and libido so only has benefits really 😏) x

stormtrooperjulian · 11/01/2019 20:23

@DayDreamer1707 glad to see you back!

@AnnaMC214 I’ve occasionally had EWCM after o, I’ve just assumed that it’s taken a couple of days to work it’s way out 😂

@Scottslass55 I thought that overall diet, alcohol consumption and smoking had more of an effect on male fertility than weight gain. Hopefully someone who knows more than me about it will be along shortly with an answer for you.

Scotslass55 · 11/01/2019 20:25

Thanks @cupcakesandglitter - I’m doing Slimming World at the moment trying to lose a little bit. Exercise needs to be prioritised for both DH and myself.

Scotslass55 · 11/01/2019 20:28

Thanks @stormtrooperjulian - he’s a non smoker and his alcohol consumption is ok I think. Snacking is a problem!!

How are you doing? You’re nearing the 2WW end too?

Babytrain89 · 11/01/2019 20:41

Thanks all for your responses re: hunger and bad skin around ovulation. Reassuring to know I'm not alone. I'm not sure when I ovulated. Second full cycle off the pill and it was either CD12 or CD16. DTD all around that time and in between and before Grin so we can but hope.
Got some odd (as in not had before) pinching/cramping/dragging feeling today. Today is CD18 so who knows!

@Scotslass55 I've joined Slimming world as well. I'm much heavier than I'd like but quit smoking the same month I came off the pill so have put weight on....but no cigs anymore so I'm pleased.

AnnaMC214 · 11/01/2019 21:01

Thanks @stormtrooperjulian and @KatBeCool. I won't read too much into it then.

Scotslass55 · 11/01/2019 21:04

@Babytrain89 how are you finding SW? I’m struggling tonight as I’m hormonal and disappointed and just want all the chocolate left in this house! I’ve been quite a slow loser but I’m ok with that as I don’t need/ want to lose much, and I’m just trying to get back to where I was before I got married! 😂 and I want to enjoy my life too, so haven’t been super strict.

Babytrain89 · 11/01/2019 21:11

@scotslass55 For me I would follow it throughout pregnancy as would need to minimise gaining weight, so I'm finding it alright. Especially now there are two HEAs. I think because it's for a reason I'm finding it easier and it's almost like if we don't conceive this month, then I'm seeing it as another month to get to a healthier weight so it's giving me another focus!
Aero mint multi pack bars or the fruit and nut hifi bars are my chocolate go to!

Scotslass55 · 11/01/2019 21:26

@Babytrain89 good stuff. I started it independently from TTC so my thinking is almost opposite - if I get pregnant I’m going to put on lots of weight anyway so it’s not such a big deal! 😂 not the right attitude! The extra HEa definitely makes a difference.

KatBeCool · 11/01/2019 21:28

@Babytrain89 you're killing me! I literally started salivating just thinking about Aero!

@Scotslass55 does your DH read? Maybe coming from you it's not enough that he needs to lose weight but reading a research article might help. Or tell him your GP said that you both need to eat healthy and exercise, it's true.

Nextchapter19 · 11/01/2019 21:32

Hi! I’m new to this thread and have found your posts very useful so far on what eill be hopfully an exciting journey!!!

My stats:
Age 34
Teacher
Cycle 1
CD 1
TTC #1

Scotslass55 · 11/01/2019 21:33

@KatBeCool - yes, I def think it would be helpful to direct him to some medical advice/ research. It’s not me nagging it’s a fact type of thing.

He’s pretty clueless about all of this (and doesn’t know the half of how much I’ve been swotting up on here!) but said himself that we’ll need to be disciplined at timing BD next month. That’s the bit he’s mentioned before, he’s very keen on that side! 😂
