@BostonFern

Hello, it is my first time, too. It sounds like your body is doing a fantastic job of getting itself back 'au naturelle'. That is promising in itself!

Lozzlepop · 19/01/2019 17:22

@BostonFern you are at pretty much the same stage as me, I stopped BC on Dec 29th and OVD on Jan 5th, AF just started yesterday. Going to try OPK next month, I’m the same age wise as I’m 35 (just 😂) but I know a few people recently in their 30s who have all fallen pregnant pretty soon after trying so we just need to relax and try not to symptom spot (easier said than done I know)

thumper59 · 19/01/2019 17:27

@Cinderella812 absolutely not alone. My first time too and I am finding it really hard not to go crazy!

I'd said to my partner earlier about maybe not drinking tonight, then when we was out for dinner he asked if I was pregnant because he had seen a 'pregnancy test' in the bin last week and with me saying not drinking ( which I explained to him was just incase, I've got a 2 week wait to find out yet!) bless him, I had to explain the pregnancy test was in fact an OPK. 😂 and I would be telling him a million times an hour if I was in fact pregnant! I've tried to explain to him about now having a 2ww and that is IF my body ovulated when it should of and my period comes as it should ( first month off the pill- who knows!) he looked at me with glazy eyes. Oh to be a man!

KatBeCool · 19/01/2019 17:29

@starkid the opk might be just pre-positive, but I'd consider today as positive unless it's still dark tomorrow. Test before sleep, it'll most likely be even darker.

Cinderella812 · 19/01/2019 17:37

@thumper59

Thank you for saying that.

"Oh to be a man!" - Quite. I've thought that a lot recently. They truly don't understand, do they? But if you think about it, they have been conditioned to believe from being about thirteen years old, that so much as looking in our direction will make a baby. I think all of the sex education in schools (while positive for many, many reasons) may have gone a bit far... it makes it seems like getting pregnant is practically guaranteed. My husband was genuinely shocked when I explained about fertile windows, and the importance of timing. It was brand new information to him.

I think the only way to stop myself becoming obsessed is to focus on something vaguely related... I've got into that 'KonMari' method of decluttering, and I'm telling myself that it's getting the house ready for baby, so it's a good idea to do it now before I fall pregnant. I'm distracting myself that way!

I am also very aware that none of this is remotely interesting to any of my friends, most of whom do not have children. I don't want to become a baby-bore... especially when there isn't even a baby! I am so grateful for this group, which I can use to speak freely.

Sending so much love to all of you ladies. x

thumper59 · 19/01/2019 17:40

@Cinderella812

Absolutely. Same for us really! I am 23, and have spent my whole life being told one slip up on the pill and you'll get pregnant. I had a brief idea about ovulation/fertility windows but not half as much as I've learnt in the past month reading into it! This is only my first month trying so I'm trying not to get to worked up but it's still really hard!

Same with me, nobody other then me and dp even know I am off the pill/trying. Nobody really has any idea! And as much as I want to talk about it I don't want the added pressure so will keep adding my made up issues and stresses into these threads 😂

Cinderella812 · 19/01/2019 17:44

@thumper59

Same. Now I wonder why I even bothered with contraception!

I bet not many of your friends are trying or have babies yet, either. I am older at 27, but I'm still one of the first of my friendship group to start trying, so I can't really discuss it with anybody in my 'real life'.

We can try to keep one another's stresses in check!

BostonFern · 19/01/2019 17:46

Thanks @Cinderella812 and @Lozzlepop
It is so hard trying to distract myself at the moment! It's been on my mind for months really, I've had to slowly come off medication for a heart problem and for arthritis, which is making daily life a bit more challenging already (but it is necessary, and will be worth it in the end I am sure!).

thumper59 · 19/01/2019 17:50

@Cinderella812 exactly the same!
No the friends who do have babies have been 'surprises'. I don't know about you but I have a real mixed bag of friends at this age! Some are settled, some are travelling. Some are party mad!
I like being at home with my dp and my dogs and a glass of vino every now and again. 😂

Its a toughy as we have an amazing open and close family so i don't want them to twig onto me acting different now or when we do conceive but we have both decided to keep it between the two of us until a good 8-12 weeks into a hopeful pregnancy whenever it happens. I also don't want to bang on about it to dp as I just want to keep it chill (haha! I couldn't be any further from chill) so it is lovely to get on here and talk about CM and how many DPO we all are. If he could read this he'd think we was mad. 😂😂

DuchessofPemberley · 19/01/2019 17:52

@Cinderella812 I'm doing konmari too! I was sceptical about the whole thing because I'm not usually into the "brings me joy" thing, but I'm actually really enjoying it! Though it's a bit terrifying how much crap I've bought, never used, and is now destined for charity shoppage. What a waste of money 🤦🏻‍♀️

@Keyboard91 you're being very brave, we all know here how long two weeks can seem. Hang in there, and if you need to vent we're all here for you xxx

Lozzlepop · 19/01/2019 17:52

@thumper59 @Cindarella812 it’s crazy isn’t it- the things you believe when you get told them at school- what else have they lied to us about? 😂 we’ve not told any of our friends or family that we are trying either, it just puts too much pressure on things, most of my friends already have kids so I’m the odd one out 😂

@BostonFern we’ll all get out BFPs and it will deffo be worth it 😄

FlapJackered · 19/01/2019 17:58

@FivexFive NO WAY! Congratulations!!!! Amazing news!! So happy for you. That is an awesome line too! 🎉❤️

@cupcakesandglitter I am in the same boat now 😩 still no static and the ICs have started to get lighter again! What is going on with us!!?! Have you had any success today?
We are Dtd every other day at the moment. I just don't want to miss it this month after all the effort with the Soy!

@MrsAW2018 oh no! sorry AF turned up ❤️ look after yourself tonight and make sure you give yourself some treats.

@DuchessofPemberley at 6dpo I wouldn't worry too much about dips, as long as it goes back up again you're still in the running!

@Keyboard91 I'm so sorry. I have heard some bleeding can be normal. Hopefully it is not what you think, but if it is we are all here for you x

@starkid I would say that is positive! I reckon your clearblue will confirm it next time you test. Get BDing!!

Welcome @BostonFern 😀

Sleepyquest · 19/01/2019 18:02

@Cinderella812 I'm with you with the wish list. Was looking at baby grows in white company today - we've only just started trying! Must try not to overthink it lol

Jessikka · 19/01/2019 18:08

@Lozzlepop I've read you must count cd1 of actual flow; when it's enough to soak a pad/tampon. That's why I'm still in cycle 1! I'm hoping I have a heavy flow tomoz and actual red blood; not this gross brown! Sorry, considering what we discuss on this thread that one may actually be tmi 😂🥴

@MrsR16 I would be doing that except I had a bfn yesterday morning so I think it would be pointless for me now. Il save my last stick for next month! fx for you though x

MrsR16 · 19/01/2019 18:09

@Jessikka I've got one cheapie HPT left, so will make a judgement and probably POAS tomorrow! 😂

19Bee2 · 19/01/2019 18:10

@Keyboard91 I'm so sorry to see that you think think things may not be progressing well. Keeping everything crossed for you and sending love.

Hope everyone else is doing well, depending where they are.
Welcome @BostenFern
@Thumper59 @Cinderella812 I am also on Cycle 1 and in exactly the same place. It's so hard not to think of it all the time! I'm on CD24 but pretty sure I ovulated later/am having an anovulatory cycle according to temperatures, but surprisingly I'm feeling not TOO stressed about it. Doesn't stop me thinking and wondering all the time, but I'm looking forward to seeing what the next months bring.

For people on here that temp (I've done it for a few months before TTC), has anyone read 'Taking Charge of Your Fertility'??

I had seen it mentioned COUNTLESS times and I am the type of person who loves reading, researching knowing as much as I possible can (doesn't bode well for relaxing, does it?!). It arrived yesterday and it is HEFTY. I've had a scan today in between catching up on work and it is so interesting. Our bodies are amazing and have to do so much work. No wonder things do always go perfectly according to plan or as quickly as we like. Thinking of it that way is going to make me view this whole process with a little more perspective I think.

Lozzlepop · 19/01/2019 18:22

@Keyboard91 thinking of you lovely and hope all is okay.

@Jessikka oh I didn’t know this, thanks! I don’t think anything is considered tmi on this thread, we are all very close and like to share

On another note does anyone know if you can still have AF without ovulating or is that impossible?

19Bee2 · 19/01/2019 18:27

@Lozzlepop
You can still bleed after not ovulating and it will seem like a proper period but is technically not menstruation, as it is caused by a build up of lining that can't be sustained or a drop in oestrogen (I believe).

In October, I didn't ovulate, according to BBT, but I did bleed, but on CD32 rather than the usual CD30.

cupcakesandglitter · 19/01/2019 18:53

Sorry @Keyboard91 fx all is okay for you xxx

@FlapJackered same here 😩 all light today. Temps not showing I've ov'd yet either which is really annoying. Not BD yet either, and DH is doing overtime today and tomorrow so I doubt we will all weekend. I've been checking my cervix and tbh I'm pretty much dry, i don't 'feel' fertile... Pretty much lost all hope by this cycle! I don't know what's going on with us 😩 x

starkid · 19/01/2019 19:14

@KatBeCool - good idea, will do another one before BD time Grin
@FlapJackered - I've run out of clearblue ones unfortunately Sad might buy more if I end up going another cycle, not sure though... so expensive!!

Think we've done quite well this fw if today is ov day, at least for us... so fx!

Sorry to hear you both not getting any darker opk's @FlapJackered @cupcakesandglitter mine were all barely there until this afternoon

sunshine1987 · 19/01/2019 19:16

@keyboard91 I know it’s scary but bleeding doesn’t mean the worst at all. I would try and speak to your doctor though and see if they can do a HCG test to try and put your mind at ease. But I do know that implantation bleeds can be as heavy as a period, so please try and keep strong x

Beddie11 · 19/01/2019 19:18

Hi everyone, hope everyone is having a nice weekend.. thinking of the ladies having a tough time! One thing ive realised from being on here and beginning the ttc process is that our bodies are truly complex things! I read something on here earlier about the men not having a clue about the fact that timing has a massive impact on ttc, but like youve said its drilled into them ( and us ) from a young age that practically looking at a woman will end in pregnancy!
@jessikka hope your okay, any progression on the possible AF or IB?? -quick update from me, i had a show of the infamous EWCM today! So it seems my body is finally doing something! Xx

cupcakesandglitter · 19/01/2019 19:20

@starkid glad you've had some luck. You gonna try another one after yours earlier? It looks pretty much positive 😊 I've had some fluctuations dark/light ones but no positives really x

Jessikka · 19/01/2019 19:27

@Beddie11 Hi 👋🏻

Still having some brown spotting every few hours so I think tomorrow AF will hopefully arrive and I can start again, as I've ordered a Thermometer and will try daily OPKs.

Last time I randomly did them every few days just to check I was producing ANY LH hormone and wasn't looking for the surge exactly but managed to randomly pee at the correct time and found it lol!

So will do it properly this cycle!

AnnaMC214 · 19/01/2019 19:31

A lot seems to have happened on here today and I can hardly keep up.

I'm sorry @Keyboard91. I really hope it's not what you fear and we're all here if you need us xx

Welcome to any new people. I can totally relate to how crazy ttc can make you! I think I've calmed down a bit now compared to cycle #1 but I'm so glad I have this thread to channel my crazy rather than spewing it all over my dh all the time! 😂 It irritates me how chill he is about it all!
