@FivexFive congratulations that is such a strong line! This is turning out to be a very lucky thread Grin

I am currently 6dpo. I had a temperature dip below the cover line at 2dpo and 5dpo - both too early for implantation so I'm guessing I'm on to cycle 7 next month. Every time I think I understand this TTC business something new pops up! HmmGrin

Hope everyone is having a good weekend! I find the weekends are harder as there's less to distract me.

DogMum24 · 19/01/2019 11:31

Makes sense - thank you 😊

Lozzlepop · 19/01/2019 11:34

@thumper59 exactly! I’m good thank you, just about to go out and see our nieces. It’s the most frustrating thing isn’t it when you just don’t know, just enjoy your night and have a couple of lighter drinks if you feel like drinking xx

Jessikka · 19/01/2019 11:50

@Lozzlepop I went through a nightmare last month. I had cramps so severe I felt like I'd done an abs workout! I had shooting pains through my belly button, pains from middle of my boobs up to armpit and down. Tender skin under my boobs, headache, greasy skin... you name it, I had it.

My OT actually said "Jess if you're not pregnant you need to go a doctor" I was that bad😂

More spotting today and no cramps etc and no breakouts so I'm over the nasty hurdle I think!
A nurse at the clinic years ago gave me a progesterone only pill that gave me acne but thankfully now I'm off it my skin is behaving better so just treated myself to a nice new Liz Earle set x

Lozzlepop · 19/01/2019 11:56

@Jessikka oh no that sounds really rough hun! What pill were you on? Love a bit of Liz Earle, sounds like you’ve earned it xx

Bettythecat · 19/01/2019 12:04

@FivexFive I just came on here to see what's going on and there you are with your BFP!! Can't even be mad you didn't wait for me it's so strong and beautiful!! Hugest congrats to you. This has definitely been a lucky thread these last few weeks. Hopefully some of it will rub off on me!

Scotslass55 · 19/01/2019 12:18

Belated thanks ladies for your lovely messages.
@DayDreamer1707 - yup, you called it! 😃

@FivexFive - congratulations! Wonderful news!

@Keyboard91 - hope you’re doing ok and your line has strengthened since earlier in the week.

@KatBeCool - so glad your results were good.

I’m going to be totally honest ladies (coz I have been about everything else!) my BFP has quite overwhelmed me and is difficult to process! I’d spent so much time preparing myself for not conceiving/ problems/ thinking it was all so unlikely because we’re older that I never really prepared for the fact it might! So I’ve spent the last few days trying to contemplate the massive changes ahead, and beating myself up a bit for being simultaneously excited and wondering what on earth we’ve done! I’m a happily married 38 year old who was trying to get pregnant: it shouldn’t be such a shock and worry! 😂 I’m very sorry if this seems insensitive to those of you waiting on BFPs but we’re super honest on this thread and it might help someone else who experiences this wave of mixed emotions when they get there’s. I’ve had to do some googling to reassure myself I’m not an awful person!

So, I’m going to take a wee break from Mumsnet and pregnancy googling to just get my head round all this. That you so much for all your advice and encouragement, and excitement. You’ve been a huge help. I can’t wait to check in in a few weeks and see lots more lines.

Love to you all. Xx

cupcakesandglitter · 19/01/2019 12:26

@Scotslass55 makes perfect sense - take all the time you need and enjoy every second!! Hope everything goes well for you and bean, please come back when you're ready!! Xx

DuchessofPemberley · 19/01/2019 12:33

@Scotslass55 that's understandable and not at all insensitive. I think you're right - sharing it will help someone out there who has mixed feelings when it happens for them.

It's almost like getting your dream job, you're delighted but nervous and second guessing yourself. Enjoy your break and best of luck with it all.

TrashKitten10 · 19/01/2019 12:39

@Scotslass55 I can imagine it's all really overwhelming. Whether you've been actively trying or had a surprise pregnancy, doesn't make the news any less life changing. Hope a little time away gives you some time to gather your thoughts and enjoy your news x

AngeloMysterioso · 19/01/2019 12:39

Does anyone know how long implantation bleeding typically lasts for? I'm on day 4 of my random mid-cycle bleed...

Jessikka · 19/01/2019 14:11

@Lozzlepop after realising the progesterone (can't remember name now) gave me the random bad skin I swapped to Cilest which is more Estrogen than progesterone x

DuchessofPemberley · 19/01/2019 14:12

@AngeloMysterioso a few hours to three full days according to this website americanpregnancy.org/getting-pregnant/what-is-implantation-bleeding/

So on the longer end but not impossible.

Lozzlepop · 19/01/2019 14:15

@Jessikka I went on Cerazette because the Estrogen pills were a making me crazy 😂 I was an emotional wreck and cpunflt cope with it! Just now trying to decide when I should count day one of my cycle as I had 3 days of spotting before proper AF showed up.

@Scotslass55 enjoy your little break and let your exciting news sink in. We will all be thinking of you ☺️

MrsR16 · 19/01/2019 14:27

@Jessikka I think we're in the same boat! I don't know what's going on - this is not a normal period at all! One bit of red blood and then old stuff but nowhere near enough to count as AF I don't think! 😕 wondering about POAS just to eliminate the possibility that I could be pregnant!

Keyboard91 · 19/01/2019 14:57

I think I might be having a chemical :(

Started bleeding about 2pm yesterday. Bright pink, enough to stain a liner. It eased around 8pm when it became very light pink discharge. About 4am today I got up to pee and the bleeding started again. Have bled all day. Again, bright pink, almost red, need a pad and it stains the loo water. Has been a few very small clots.

I tested again this morning and the line is still there, but hasn’t really got darker.

My emotions are all over the place. Partner has gone to work for the evening so I’m home alone until 1am when he gets home :(

TrashKitten10 · 19/01/2019 15:08

Oh @Keyboard91 I'm so sorry Thanks How utterly cruel. Really hoping it's not the bad news you fear. We are here to talk and listen if you need. Hate to think of you being alone at this time Sad

DuchessofPemberley · 19/01/2019 15:31

@Keyboard91 I'm sorry you think it could be bad news, hopefully everything is ok. What rotten timing that your partner isn't home until late.

Thinking of you xxx

Keyboard91 · 19/01/2019 15:46

Thank you @TrashKitten10 and @DuchessofPemberley

I just don’t know what to think/feel. There is nothing I can do to change what may or may not be happening. And that’s the worst thing, the not knowing. If I knew it was a no go I could begin to process that. But the not knowing is awful. Advice from midwife yesterday was just to wait 2 weeks and if I’m still getting a positive test result they will have me in for a scan. 2 weeks sounds such a long time to wait if there isn’t an obvious sign that I’ve miscarried. :(

Cinderella812 · 19/01/2019 15:57

@keyboard91
Two weeks must feel like an eternity. I’m a little shocked that there’s nothing that they can do to let you know one way or another before then. You must feel completely adrift.
Sending love to you! Praying for a positive outcome. X

TrashKitten10 · 19/01/2019 16:18

@Keyboard91 Two weeks waiting is terrible :( can the GP not test your hCG levels to see if your levels are increasing?

starkid · 19/01/2019 16:40

@Keyboard91 - sorry you're going through this Sad

So my last clearblue opk was negative this morning (well just high fertility still), but my One Step just showed this. Do you think that counts as a positive? Surely it must pretty much be? BD time tonight either way!

FivexFive · 19/01/2019 16:47

@keyboard91, I'm so sorry. Sending hugs and we're here for you xx

@bettythecat, thanks hun! I'm keeping everything crossed for you!! Xxx

BostonFern · 19/01/2019 16:59

Hi,
I hope nobody minds me joining, it's my first time here.
Congratulations to all those with their BFPs.
@Keyboard, I hope all turns out OK.
A bit about me:
Age: 34
Cycle: 1
CD 24
I came off BC 22nd Dec, and started my normal withdrawal bleed on 27th and think I ovulated around the 10th or 11th as I had an OPK with a very dark line on the evening of the 10th. Have tried not to symptom spot but have felt awful the last week, not sure if that's just from coming off the pill, or something else.
I did a FRER test this morning, too early I suppose, it was a BFN.
OH is very excited about TTC, as am I, but I'm worried about my age possibly making it more challenging for us.

Cinderella812 · 19/01/2019 17:19

Thank you for the advice in respect of lubricants, ladies. I did suggest just not using any, but my husband says he likes it, so I ordered the 'Pre-Seed' brand (thank goodness for Amazon Prime delivery!)

I feel a little bit ridiculous, knowing how difficult it is to actually fall pregnant and how long most people have to try for. But I can feel myself getting obsessive! I'm checking my Clue app, creating little 'wishlists' on the Marks & Spencer website, choosing which hospital I would deliver in, thinking about a baby shower... and I haven't even ovulated yet, for goodness sake. I really hope I am not the only lady getting carried away! I am sure it cannot be healthy, but this is my first cycle trying, so I am a newbie.

What do you all do to reign it in a little? To avoid becoming obsessed?

I have already decided not to tests until AF is 4 days late (CD34), so that should stop me flying through pregnancy tests.

I am not alone, right? Right?
