Hi @JcHcks I would recommend waiting till after the wedding to come off the pill! It's not worth the stress of the day and then on top of that not knowing if your cycles will be regular or not! I don't regret waiting at all.

Babytrain89 · 12/01/2019 15:35

@JcHcks I didn't come off until we were ready to start trying. It can happen straight away (it hasn't but it could) and i didn't want to tempt fate personally! Each to their own though as everyone has a different tale or way of doing things.

sunshine1987 · 12/01/2019 15:54

@jchcks reason being was that my doctor said it could take up to a year for my periods to come back to normal and I didn’t want to wait until after the wedding for that to be the case. It took a good few months for my cycles to return to normal and we used other protection before then, as long as you’re careful I don’t see the point in waiting. It took a further 6 months for me to fall pregnant after our wedding x

Lozzlepop · 12/01/2019 16:12

Out of interest how long did it take everyone’s cycles to get back to normal after coming off bc? Difficult trying to track things when I literally have no idea....think I may have ovulated last weekend so could be in the TWW or maybe not 🤷🏽‍♀️ Last few days I’ve had sore nipples, OH mentioned that my boobs feel firmer too (sorry tmi) some cramping in the lower abdomen and bloating but only in the afternoon/ evening- could this be the bc hormones leaving my body? Any advice greatly welcomed Grin. Hope all you ladies are having a great weekend!

Beddie11 · 12/01/2019 16:16

@jchcks I personally would come off a little before your wedding, I wish I had stopped mine sooner than I did. I found that as soon as I decided I wanted to stop the pill I feel like I need to get pregnant like right now and obviously unfortunately it doesnt always work out. I am feeling a little pessimistic tonight as POAS and got a BFN. I know this is probably far too early to do one as I only stopped the pill less than a month ago and dont even know if I've ovulated but I just felt the need.. im sure you guys can relate. I havent told my husband i even took a test as didnt want him to feel dissapointed like i now do so thought id share with you ladies i hope thats ok. Will continue to wait for AF now and try to steer clear of POAS for the time being 😋.

KatBeCool · 12/01/2019 16:27

@Lozzlepop I had Mirena before ttc, got my first AF within three weeks but ovulated late so it was a bit of a longer cycle (33 days), and it normalized after that to 24 days. I hear pills might take longer because the hormones in your blood may stay longer.

Bettythecat · 12/01/2019 17:45

@KittieKath how many times a day have you been doing the OPKs? Which ones are you using? It is apparently possible to miss the surge because for some women it only lasts for a few hours. I think temp spike is the most sure way to work it out so if you are getting that plus EWCM I would be pretty sure you are ovulating. My cousin is currently 7 weeks pregnant and never got a positive OPK so it's definitely not all about that!

@Lozzlepop I'm the same at @KatBeCool - had Mirena and my cycles started being regular pretty much straight away- just one month of a slightly longer cycle.

starkid · 12/01/2019 17:46

@Lozzlepop - Mine were fine once I was off the pill, between 26-31 days long so nothing crazy, and after maybe 6 months they settled to 27-29 day cycles :)

honeylove · 12/01/2019 18:44

Hi everyone,

Have been creeping on this post for a day or so and finally plucked up the courage to post! New to all of this but after much discussion my partner & I have decided we are ready to take the plunge as he has just accepted a promotion at work.

Stats are as follows:

Age - 22
Cycle #1 officially
CD 25 (Usually 28 days long)
AF due on Wednesday... hoping for some beginners luck!

Wishing you all health & happiness on your journeys! 💗

Lozzlepop · 12/01/2019 19:16

@KatBeCool
@Bettythecat
@starkid

Thanks ladies this is good to know ☺️ Only been off bc for 2 weeks so hoping that I might have been lucky but you never know right! Just not sure if the symptoms would be due to AF or due to coming off BC- hopefully body settles back into a regular cylce pretty quickly. Who thought that this sort of thing would take over your life and you would end up constantly symptom spotting and googling stuff 😂

ValidUser · 12/01/2019 19:39

Hello all! Still lurking.

@KatBeCool sorry about AF. X

Just over a week until I see gynaecologist. I've lost a stone. My job was just made permanent.

Life is good!

MrsH497 · 12/01/2019 19:59

Hi ladies and newbies! Hope everyone is having a good weekend.
Joys of shift work on until 0100 tonight! Having a day of being weepy, feel sick and tummy bit upset (sorry tmi!) bring on my days off! X

ValidUser · 12/01/2019 20:05

@MrsH497 been there! Sending hugs. X

Lozzlepop · 12/01/2019 20:06

@MrsH497 hope your night goes quickly hun- not too long to go now x

MrsH497 · 12/01/2019 20:35

@Lozzlepop @ValidUser thanks girls just 2 night shifts to go! It's not a bad day to be fair.

Doing my best to not symptom spot this month 😂

KittieKath · 12/01/2019 20:35

@bettythecat

The OPKs are kinda expensive so I just do once a day. I defo have he other symptoms, so thanks for the reassurance! xx

@mrsaw2018 @muddypaws12

I hear you, I’m feeling lonely too. All of my friends are pregnant or nursing newborns and lost just announce at 12-weeks. I just hate the secrecy around it all - I wish everyone could be more open throughout the whole TTC stage.

@AnnaMC214

I have this a lot too... I hear the rise of progesterone tends to stop the EWCM, and I do think I am low in progesterone (totally self diagnosed though).

I would just do more DTD and hope for the best!

:-)

@nextchapter19 hello! Welcome! I am also 34... :-)

@trashkitten10

I planned a date night for ovu day - then we had a massive row and I went to bed alone... oh well! Made up for lost time in the morning. Hope your DH is better now :-)

@fire48shoes

Sorry to hear about your mc. Good luck on this cycle! I am a similar age. How did you find out about your low ovarian reserves?

Never had a dhea test, no hormone tests at all.

Welcome anyway! :-)

@shortandsweet96 @bettythecat

My 2ww starts tomorrow too. FX for us all!

@daydreamer1707

I am gonna try not to symptom spot this month... but we’ll see! Good luck to us!

@honeylove welcome! Good luck to you!

@mrslbear my former cycle buddy! So glad you well, if tired. Wishing you H&H. :-)

Bettythecat · 12/01/2019 20:54

@KittieKath I'm guessing you have been using the Clearblue ones then? I've tried the cheap ones off amazon this month and doing them twice a day- they are about £6 for 60 so a lot cheaper and I also think they are a bit more sensitive. Maybe you could give those a go next month.

KittieKath · 12/01/2019 21:08

@Bettythecat

WOW! I got Boots one sand they are £5 for 5!!!! TOTALLY gonna get these ones for next month. Thanks for the tip. :-)

Bettythecat · 12/01/2019 21:20

@KittieKath I've just checked and I got the One Step sensitive ones... they are slightly more expensive than I thought- £8 for 50 but still! X

Nextchapter19 · 12/01/2019 22:10

Thank you for all of the welcomes :) I have AF at the minute and not due to ovulate until 25th Jan. Its hard not to think about how long it will take! Just want it to be the right time now to start DTD! I had a promotion in September at school and am not enjoying it. Mentally now I am trying to think about me first, job second, which is so tough in teaching sometimes as it takes over as in many jobs am sure. Its great to hear so many other women thinking the same things and worrying about the same things!!! Excited to hear your journies and share mine :)

ValidUser · 12/01/2019 22:13

@Nextchapter19 delighted to have you here. 😊

FivexFive · 12/01/2019 23:32

@ValidUser, that's fantastic about your job!! Lovely to hear from you Smile

@babytrain89, I am also due af on 20th. I told dh I'm not testing this time unless it's properly late, but we'll see about that nearer the time!

We went for a curry tonight and I mentioned briefly about how much maternity leave I should take if/when it happens, as after the maternity leave is used, it will probably be him that drops his working schedule. He was great about it, being really supportive in his way; asked what he thought of me taking the full year (finances permitting) and he goes 'yeah, if I'd grown a baby and pushed it out, I'd want at least a year off, so go for it!' Bless. He's been reading about pregnancy, birth etc apparently, that's nice to know!

Kittyhop · 12/01/2019 23:32

Another teacher here Grin, ttc #1! First proper cycle ttc, currently CD12 and not looking forward to the TWW... I have no patience, so planning some big work projects to distract me! (Definitely won’t distract me)

cupcakesandglitter · 13/01/2019 03:10

God this thread moves fast 😅

@ValidUser oh that's fantastic, happy for you ❤️ fx all goes well next week xx

@FivexFive aww bless him.. completely understandable though!! We need a lot of rest I think 😂😂 xx

I've started OPKs again and I'm now sticking them into a book to keep track of them - DH thinks I've lost the plot 😂😅

Hope you're all enjoying the weekend and are all well xxxxx

FlapJackered · 13/01/2019 08:57

Gah! Opks have gone lighter again and clear blue is still staying on low fertility. 👎🏻
I just really hope it is earlier than cd19 or i am going to be wasting a lot on opks, and may just go insane....again! 🙈

@ValidUser well done on the job and the weight loss!! That's amazing! Not long now until the op! 💪🏻

Welcome @honeylove 😀

@KittieKath I just got the Soy Isoflavones from Amazon, the Natures aid ones.
I am taking them as some people have said it can bring ovulation forward (and do wonderful things to your eggs!) and I ovulate quite late in my cycle. No sign of it yet though!

@cupcakesandglitter I have sheets of paper with all of mine stuck on too... since cycle 3 😂🙈 DH hasn't seen them or I think he would be concerned for my mental health 😂 It is quite interesting referring back to other cycles to see patterns etc though.
