In the immortal words of our very own @tigsy
"Probably developed by a man"

Lol Grin
A man that doesn't understand ovulation...
In the words of my otherwise very intelligent DH... "I'm sure ovulation is just a myth..."

Frazzlerock · 29/01/2019 10:41

Actual lols @Rather. Give your DH a MEDAL! Grin

Omg rather! I agree he deserves some kind of award for that comment!

TwittleBee · 29/01/2019 10:56

I think I remember you saying that before rather or it was someone's equally shocking DH! So funny, can you imagine - yeah us women have no clue and are just suckers for OPKs and temping... no science or anything behind it

ratherbeshowjumping · 29/01/2019 11:11

@TwittleBee I think I have said it before on the antenatal thread, it never fails to make me laugh. He still isn't convinced that it's not just an old wives tale... his theory is... why, if you can only fall pg on 3-4 days of a month, do people get the MAP? 🙈

Just like to POAS & stick a thermometer under my tongue for shits & giggles, don't know about you lot.... 😂

Rose68 · 29/01/2019 11:16

That’s great news @Tigsy, I’m keeping everything crossed for you and DH next week. x

@Frazzle this sounds like a nightmare, is this what Pcos does? Makes you think you are ovulating and then nothing happens? Do you get any kind of ovulation pain? I definitely think you should get the spotting checked out too.

@Ratherbe that’s fab news that you managed to dtd this morning! But I really can’t believe your DH said that 🙈

As for me, I’m not tired today, but I am feeling fed up, I know this isn’t going to happen, so what is the point in trying. DH is away again, but back tonight, but then goes away again tomorrow morning. And it’s meant to snow. Fab.

tigsyboo · 29/01/2019 11:25

OMG I'm glad it's not just my DH that is such a fool!! He says 'it's nothing to do with science!' And all this temping just confuses the issue!
He doesn't know what the temping means- and I've given up talking to him about it
All he knows is that from Sunday we are DTD every other day until I say I want it 2 days in a row, and not to even consider asking for a Blowjob until I offer it!! 😂😂

Kinsters · 29/01/2019 11:28

Oo yeah now you mention bjs tigsy is not doing it because of how supposedly sperm motility is affected by spit? We pretty much always start with a bj although I'd mentioned the spit thing to DH so last time he wiped the spit off beforehand, idk if that would help? Sorry for the tmi!

Frazzlerock · 29/01/2019 11:40

@Rose yeah I think an egg can try to pop out but if it tries to pop out of a follicle with a cyst on it, it can't. At least, that is my understanding of it. I've not experienced this with temping before though. Not with all other signs blatantly pointing to ovulation.
I don't know if I get ov pain or not. I get the odd twinge at times but doesn't seem to sync with ovulation as far as I can tell. I still record it though. Actually, I've just checked last cycle on FF and I did have a twinge right at ovulation (CD32 ). But I also got it on CD12 and 13 Confused

OP posts:
tigsyboo · 29/01/2019 11:51

No that's not the bj thing... DH wants a 'full' BJ and I've told him not a chance until I tell him!! Lol

Kinsters · 29/01/2019 11:55

Ohh haha yeah, a full blow job would be worse for conception than a bit of spit!

Frazzlerock · 29/01/2019 11:56

I didn't know that about spit! We usually start with oral too! For both of us - So many bloody factors that jeopardise conception. How the fuck does anyone get pregnant?

Frazzle - this was the website where they can custom make you a wedding dress from £150
www.honeypieboutique.co.uk/

They do a lot of tea-length style dresses there. Might not be good for you but thought I would share it with you as I finally remembered what they were called!

Frazzlerock · 29/01/2019 13:08

Thank you @Twittle! I am choosing my bits now, although I've no idea what a lot of the options are. I might have to contact them directly for help. But what a great find!

OP posts:
Kinsters · 29/01/2019 13:59

Frazzle apparently it affects motility 🤷‍♀️ although I just read a bit more about it and apparently its only really something to worry about if the guys got low sperm count anyway and if there's a high concentration of saliva (the journal article talks about using it as a lubricant).

Those dresses look gorgeous!

edidxb · 29/01/2019 16:56

@tigsyboo - amazing news. Hope it goes well now at court.
@Frazzlerock - I both can and can't believe the customer support from Flo. Thankfully I'm not using them but if I was I wouldn't be now. Good work Svetlana.

I have had such a tough work day - I do apologise - I think I say that a lot, but it is so so draining. Another one coming up tomorrow where I have to meet parents to do with a fight today. In inspection week. And I already know as they told me on the phone that they support their child using violence as that's how to solve an issue. Honestly.....
@ratherbe it was just an interview with the inspectors, not for a job. It was tough, but I think OK as a whole.

I went to acupuncture tonight though so hoping it is making me calmer for tomorrow!!!

DH and I have not Bjed for quite some time in the whole TTC journey......

Rose68 · 29/01/2019 17:56

@edidxb, don’t apologise, that’s why we are here. And as for supporting a child using violence.... words fail me. How an earth do you cope with that kind of attitude!

Re bj’s we usually do this a bit before dtd, but not recently, not since ttc.

tigsyboo · 29/01/2019 18:55

I love that I've started a convos about BJs!!oh the irony as my DH says I've forgotten what they are!! 😂😂😂

Kinsters · 30/01/2019 05:32

edidxb your job sounds so so tough and demanding. I don't see how using violence and support can go together at all! Some people!

As for me, I ovulated! And have gone straight to 5dpo which is nice. Timing not the best but I'll still hold out a bit of hope. I'm surprised my temp wasn't lower this morning. One of my cats decided to sleep in my bed last night and I swear she turns to concrete when she's sleeping which makes it really difficult to move the duvet when it gets cold so I woke up freezing!

I'm going to WFH today; I've lost my voice and I'm coughing like a barking seal. It's not v attractive. But hey, check out my wacky chart!! Something about being ill, switching thermometers after about 5 days, getting woken up at all hours of the night. No wonder I can't have a stable pregnancy!

InDreamland · 30/01/2019 07:47

I'm out this month. AF started this morning Sad. Another 26 day cycle. Think the second mc un November has shortened my cycles Confused

Kinsters · 30/01/2019 08:10

Sorry AF arrived InDreamland

I've got short 26 day cycles as well, actually they're sometimes 24 days. I do worry about it sometimes but take the positive that at least I don't have to wait too long to have another try. Hard to see positives on CD1 though.

Rose68 · 30/01/2019 09:36

@Twittlebee I read your woodland thread last, it’s totally crazy! Let us know how you get on with it.

@InDreamland I’m sorry about AF, it’s shit isn’t it. I have just over a week until my AF arrives. My cycles have been 26 days since having my first DS, before that they were 28 days, but I was mostly on the pill so it’s hard to tell. But 26 days is still okay, and I definitely conceived DS2 on a 26 day cycle.

@Kinsters yay for ovulating! We are almost dpo sisters, I am 4 dpo today.

DH came home last night at 11:30pm and is going away again in an hours time. 😬

Frazzlerock · 30/01/2019 09:40

Oh @InDreamland I'm so sorry Sad

@Kinsters good news! And timing looks great too!

@edidxb that is a rough day. It must be so emotionally draining Sad and please don't apologise!

I am still bloody miserable and waiting for ovulation AGAIN. DP seems tired and depressed and uninterested in sex the last couple of days so ovulating would be pointless anyway.

Last cycle we BDd every other day until after ovulation, this time we have three of four days gap. I can't even say anything as that will make him feel even more shit and then we'll be even less likely to catch my bastard elusive egg. My spotting seems to have stopped, though I will try and see GP tomorrow.

my temp this morning is as boring as a boring thing. Though I will post it anyway...
