Sorry forgot to tag you @mummybearboo

Mfbroome · 05/02/2019 12:05

Hi girls!
I'm good @MummyBearBoo I have no symptoms so I'm like 👀👀 is everything okay 😂🙈 I'm sure it is.. I called hospital today to make my appointments so should hear back from them very soon :)
Ur good sticking with testing on 9th! I was too tempted lol. Well done u!

@Cocobana
Yeah a lot of places take them from 2 but u have to pay and then when they turn 3 you get 15/30 hours free (depending on your income situation) to help towards the payments! But everybody gets 15 hours free no matter what xxx
How are u? How's AF?

@Scarletrose18 ❤️ hello lovely lady! How r u?
I am getting excited! We go later next week for the half term week! Dc have all of their ski essentials 👍🏼🤣👌🏼 it is funny looking at ds all kitted out I hope he settles in okay he's a bit of a mummies boy so fingers crossed- with his big sister there he should be okay though 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Cocobana · 05/02/2019 13:14

@Mfbroome how many weeks are you now? It’s great you haven’t got too many symptoms and hope it stays that way and that you have a good pregnancy.
Thanks, it’s all new to be this nursery stuff, ds is my first child so everything is a learning curve. Is it right that they start nursery in September after they turn 3? So if ds turns 3 in the Feb that year he won’t go to nursery until the September? Is it right though that he can get optional 15 hours from the feb until the sept when he would go to nursery? Sorry about all the questions!! It’s confusing me...Confused
Oh wow your holiday is coming up so quick, aww I bet your dc will be so excited for it.

Cocobana · 05/02/2019 13:15

me*

MummyBearBoo · 05/02/2019 14:02

My DD loves the Water too there a Zog (Julia Donaldson book) trail we are toning to do in Sherwood Pines then want head to Sherwood Center Parcs straight after for 5 days - that's the plan anyway!! Probably beginning of May she loves Center Parcs!! It's good you take him swimming I really should take DD more! X

HJWT · 05/02/2019 14:10

@Scarletrose18 shes 2& half which makes it so much worse 😂 iv not been doing OPK's i took 2 yesterday and realised I had run out so ordered more not done any today 😩 waiting for them to come x

MummyBearBoo · 05/02/2019 14:26

@Cocobana as far as I'm aware they have an intake January and September but some take some earlier we could have stared DD as soon as she was 2.5 but as it was before 6 week hols I didn't see the point! The free school hours they are entitled to them the term after they turn 3 so my DD will get them from April as her birthday is end of Jan!
@Mfbroome - glad you're feeling ok sure everything will be fine I never had symptoms til 5+ weeks previously! X

Mfbroome · 05/02/2019 14:33

No not necessarily my kids nursery takes them as soon as they are two from any point in the year you would have to check with your prefered choice?! they both started a day after they turned two :)
There's is obviously also day nurseries designed for parents who work all day and are open from 7-6/7 aswell that will take from 3 months old.
Your free 15 hours always starts the term after they are 3. So your little one would be able to start as soon as they turn 2 (if the nursery took them at that age) and you would have to pay the full fees until next year when they turn 3 :)
You also have preschools and nursery's where we live they are phasing out a lot of playschools - they tend to do morning or afternoon sessions kind of church run or in a hall kind of set up (I went to one as a child!) or nurseries have longer hours available :) my sons nursery Is 8.30-3.30. It's a bloody mind field 🤗😂 took me ages to get my head around and I work along schools and nurseries in my job and I still got baffled with the diff set ups and free hours etc!

Mfbroome · 05/02/2019 14:34

Sorry forgot to @ you @Cocobana ! 😘
I put myself at 5 weeks xxx

Cocobana · 05/02/2019 14:53

Thank you so much @mummybearboo and @mfrboome god you’re right it’s a mind field. I always wondered how you worked it and if you could add the 15 hours on their time when they start nursery and if they would do a full day instead of a half for example! If it’s the term after ds turns 3 for the free 15 hours it’ll be September 2020 at the same time he would start nursery. Plenty time for me to get my head around it I suppose! I’m trying to find out because I want to go back to work part time if dc2 isn’t to be! If I get my bfp thought it’ll all change!

Cocobana · 05/02/2019 14:54

though*

Cocobana · 05/02/2019 14:56

Oh sorry ds would get his free hours April 2020 not September if it’s the next term.

Mfbroome · 05/02/2019 15:17

No u can't add those hours on :) it just starts when they are enrolled and are 3 :) when is ds 3? Next Feb? In which case he can start after Easter as that is the start of the next term Easter- summer hols x

Mfbroome · 05/02/2019 15:20

Sorry just saw ur message - yeah that's right! And they have actually started the 30 hours aswell so if u qualify depending on your joint income you can use those too?! You'd have to speak to the nursery - there is a catch around our way that not all nurseries take "child care vouchers" also known as the 15 free hours.
Another loop hole to bare in mind is that my sons nurseries hourly fee is more that the government give them for the free hour so I then have to pay a top fee of say £2 per hour - if u know what I mean. It all depends on what their hourly rate is x

Cocobana · 05/02/2019 15:26

Thanks so much @Mfbroome yes that makes sense. I will check to see if the nursery I want ds to go to does the 15 free hours. It’s handy to know if I go back to work I could get 30hrs but hopefully there’ll be a dc2 by then. It’s a shame you have to pay a top up fee for your son. There’s always a catch with these things isn’t there, nothing is straight forward.

Scarletrose18 · 05/02/2019 16:26

@mfbroome Im not sure, was just a radom night. Oh no, sorry your ds didnt sleep well either, defo something in the air!
Well I find im dtd far too much leading up to ov so by the time I get my positive opk im all deeded out lol. So I think this method is better as we only dtd every other day up until ov. So today is cd8 for me so starting today. Ovia had my first fertile day as Friday... when is yours?
And im pretty sure you can add your dh onto Ovia theres an option somewhere to do it.

@mummyb thats great that your work is sogreat at working with you. I hope to be a SAHM when/if second dc comes along. Awww pink shoes how sweet, she sounds so grown up!

@mfbroome Still early for symptoms, some people get none the whole way through as well, its still hard not to worry though isnt it, especially when you cant feel anything. Do you think you would like an early scan to put your mind at ease?
Awww I bet he looks so cute all bundled up in his ski gear. His big sister will show him the ropes 🙂👍🏻👌🏼

@hjwt Awww lovely, a great wee helper for dc2 then. Your holiday plans sound lovely. I always think I should take ds swimming more, its hard to find the time and motivation. Because you are so close to ovulation date, could you buy a couple of cheap opks until your others arrive just incase your peak is while you are waiting? Places like home bargins do them

@Scarletrose18 aww hopefully your ds will sleep better tonight because you’ll be shattered. Hope your day has been okay and that you can rest up abit tonight. That’s exactly how i feel. Me and dh are the same and by the time +ov comes along we are worn out. I think this method will help space it out abit and stop that happening! Ooo cd8 isn’t that’s the start of the plan today? I’m cd6 today so not far behind you. Haha I’m going to see about adding dh and I want to see his face when I tell him I’ve added him Shock that’s great! Ovia has me as 2.0 for fertility on Sunday and building every day there after.

Cocobana · 05/02/2019 16:57

Haha dh will now get emails telling him when I’m in my fertile window. I’m not going to tell him I’m going to just let him get them, he’ll be at work most likely and be like Hmm she’s getting ttc crazy lol!

HJWT · 05/02/2019 17:15

@Scarletrose18 I'm going to pick some up tomorrow! Had some CM today & a few cramps so will force DH to DTD tonight sure he wont mind to much 😂😂😂

MummyBearBoo · 05/02/2019 19:12

@Cocobana -the term after your DS turns 3 would be around about April 2020 coz Schools have 3 terms not two - my DD has just turned 3 and she is entitled to 15 hours free from after the Easter hols!! X

Cocobana · 05/02/2019 19:53

Thanks @MummyBearBoo for some reason I kept thinking it would have to be at the start of the new school year. Long time off for ds but it’s good to know it’s there and that there. When it comes to that point I’ll miss him like crazy though. Wow not long for your little one, ds will be exactly a year later. That will give you a bit of a break hopefully x

Cocobana · 05/02/2019 19:54

that there’s the option*

MummyBearBoo · 05/02/2019 20:25

@Cocobana - I miss my DD like crazy especially when she first started going I was like now what to i do- it was good to be able to eat all my own lunch - watch some TV that didn't have an annoying pink pig (though luckily she agrees to my time limit fir TV) and get some stuff done - it's easier now I've joined a gym coz if I'm busy it's fine and I know she having fun with all her friends! It was heartbreaking at first she was crying her eyes out and saying 'can you just stay a bit longer mummy I want you!'I had to leave I was bawling my eyes out! After that she was fine for two weeks then tears came back for a bit coz she realised it would be every week - but now she's fine! I have to apply for schools this year - they're all oversubscribed every year where I live so even though I'm 5 mins away I have to apply to 3 schools! That is a proper mine field coz no one is guaranteed a place regardless! X

Scarletrose18 · 05/02/2019 20:39

@mfbroome
I just use the wee calendar section that gives you the fertile 5 days, although it always changes when i enter my positive opk (another good reason for smep)
Yes it starts today, we will try to work up the energy before bed 🤣 We are having date night on Friday so will be nice to start fertile week relaxed.
Have you any nice plans for the weekend?
