@FlapJackered That tagine looks amazing! I’m usually a bit funny about tagine as I don’t usually like fruit in savoury food but when I was in budapest I had one with cherries in and it was divine!! That’s great you’re having a chilled out month. We’ve done the same, no forced DTD and gone on loads of dates etc, it’s been so nice!

@DayDreamer1707 I agree with the above - maybe do one more FRER with FMU to rule it out completely, and FX for you x

Hi everyone, so in recent months using cheap opks I've ovulated around cd16, however this month I've used the clearblue digital sticks, and had flashing smileys between cd8-10, then this morning had a static smiley so peak fertility. It doesn't really seem right? I have no ewcm, it isn't even that runny. However tmi but my urine this morning was particularly dehydrated, do you think that would affect it? I took a pic of the lines on the stick, what do you think? I'm going to do a cheap opk this afternoon too to double check, but all just seems a bit early!

We dtd last night thank God, just in case I am just ovulating earlier this month, and will try and do it again tonight or if not tomorrow night as well

@daydreamer1707 do you have a FRER? I had 3 days of spotting just the same as my period starting and a bit of bleeding the day before I got my BFP with a FRER. I don't want to get your hopes up either but I guess it is possible is all, and another test will let you know either way.

We've bought Xmas cards for parents that say grandma/grandad on, and auntie for my sister etc and we are just gonna see who opens it and realises first! We are gonna try not to tell them anything like open the card first etc, as I think we'll smirk and give it away! Lol. Sooooo excited @mrseg!

Well... 31 today... and baby is 6 weeks today... and no sickness! Yay!

Great you are not doing the OPKs! I think it's the way forward! Temping all the way. You know what's weird? They say temping only tells you when it's too late, i.e. after you've ovulated. But my sister's friend when pregnant told me all she did was wait for the temp to go up then have sex! She didnt do OPKs at all. She was given this advice from my sis in law who has 2 kids. I thought hmm well surely that means it's too late? But then the first month we did it after the temp rise... voila!
I wonder if there's something in it? Or maybe we were just very lucky and we happened to catch the egg at the start of its journey. Who knows.
My sister's friend is now pregnant with her second!

6DPO, constipated and bloated AGAIN -seems to be the norm for me after ovulation!

Gonna try making penguins today for Xmas cake, eek! Marzipanned it Friday so should be ready for royal icing this afternoon. Will report back on the penguins!

@starkid you may just be ov early.. you said your pee was dehydrated, but I've read (this may be wrong) but the more water you drink, the more EWCM you have? Maybe you've not drank enough to see a lot of it? Xx

@cupcakesandglitter yeah I've not drank enough the last week really, so that wouldn't surprise me. Just weird as all the other months has been between cd16-19 for positive ovulation test, with a 10-11 day luteal phase. Will be a very short cycle if I am ovulating today/tomorrow!
My clearblue digital won't let me test again for 48 hours now due to the peak smiley, so will have to keep track with the cheap ones in the next couple of afternoons and see what's going one.

@daydreamer1707 definitely poas again, I know MC can mess things up for a bit but that is really odd!

That tagine recipe and combo sounds and looks so good!! I've made Jamie Oliver's flat breads before - they are so easy and so good!!!! @FlapJackered

Omg I just wet myself a little. After 8 days of flashing smileys I finally got my STATIC!!! I mean I shouldn't be this excited cos it only means O is coming but I'm on cd21 too so never thought it will happen. We DTD Friday last and will defo initiate it today!!! Will that be ok? I've never used them so I hope I'm not too late now 🤞🏼
Gonna do a IC later too. I also went for a wee at 6am and forgot to do it so thought it wasn't gonna work today!!
Can't tell DH as he doesn't wanna know (pressure too much bla bla)!
Now that I've detected it so late - we really have been getting it VERY wrong!!

@starkid snap with the peak! I don't think the concentration of your urine would give a false reading. I think if anything a low concentration might lead to you missing it maybe. I've also read that sometimes we don't get any ewcm and sometimes it comes at different times in the cycle like at the end and you might not even be fertile.

@MrsLBear YAY! Get DTD! For me we DTD in the days leading up to solid smiley, and then for sure on the day of solid smiley! FX for you!

@Crossfitgirl What a great idea! My sister passed me a pair of tiny baby socks when she was telling me - but I was really jet lagged and just got so confused - DH (who got it straight away) remembers looking at me like oh my GOD how have you not got this!! I was just stood there like ‘why are you giving me a pair of really tiny socks?!’

@starkid I’d say you’ve just ovulated early perhaps! Get on it!!

@EltzBee Good luck with the penguins!! I bake but am only good with buttercream - fondant and marzipan I am utterly useless!

@starkid honestly I genuinely thought a) this thing is faulty or b) I won't ovulate this month. This could ALSO explain why I have such painful periods (long oestrogen rise means my lining is building up quite a lot which apparently leads to painful and heavy periods).
Fx for us both now!!! You're one step ahead though having DTD yday.

That's so good @MrsEG that you managed to DTD the days before too. Sounds like you covered all the bases!!! Fx for you. I stopped being so regimented with it cos I didn't think I'd get it. But we have DTD weds and fri this week so I'm just going for the every other day approach. How many days before and after did you DTD? I temp too but I am a bit hungover today so my temp went from like 36.4 to 36.72 (never normally that high) which is so annoying that I don't have that temp now.

@MrsEG also the tiny baby socks thing is so cute but I can totally see why you'd be like what. I'd say something stupid like wait no I'm not pregnant 😂😂

@MrsLBear I was so confused by them! I was just like ‘what the hell am I supposed to do with these tiny socks?!’

Well other than doing my OPKs we have been taking a more relaxed approach this month - but ended up DTD 5 days in a row - as my fertile week landed across a weekend and we were both just trying to enjoy ourselves - DH a bit too much!! So 4 days before, and then the day of ovulation. Didn’t do it the following day, we were exhausted haha!! Who knows if this is good or not, I’ve heard doing it every day can sometimes slow the swimmers down, but it was just nice not to plan DTD days and just let things happen this month :) We shall see on Xmas day!

@FlapJackered that tagine looks amazing! I’ve never made flatbreads, I might have to give it a go.

AF is due today according to my usual cycle length, no sign of it and feeling horribly nauseous and lightheaded, backache is a bit better than yesterday.

But BFN! If the nausea etc was cos of a pregnancy then it would be showing on a test by now so I guess I’m just ill. Stupid body!

In other news my friend has just told me that she’s pregnant with twins. Very happy for her and all but why does she get two when I don’t even get one?!?!? I know I shouldn’t think like that though.

@MrsLBear - No I haven't temped, I tried for a month but was just useless at remebering, plus I often get up for the loo like an hour before my alarm (stupid body clock) and ruin the whole thing >_< I'll do another opk in a couple of hours and see what that one looks like, if not maybe I'll just carry on dtd every couple of days this month just in case anything did go haywire somewhere!

@MrsEG - I'm going to have to try to dtd tonight as well aren't I wasn't prepared for this haha. Also I love your tiny sock story.

Guys, I keep watching videos of births/newborn baby's first days, and then the new parents crying with happiness... and getting emotional myself (and I don't even know these people). What is happening to me, I'm becoming a right wet blanket in my 'old age'!

@stormtrooperjulian - can be hard to hear of others joy when you feel so miserable and 'why not me?' yourself. Makes you feel like a jerk but I understand how you feel. Twins as well!! Urgh. Everyone around me this year has been pregnant or giving birth, it sucks (for me not them!)

@starkid ok so I wanna know where you're watching these videos! Don't even get me started on one born. I become a blubbering mess. Dunno why I do it to myself.
I know what you mean. It took some getting used to temping but I've become slightly addicted to knowing my temp - as sad as that sounds. God what on earth have I become!! Let us know what your OPK says later on!

@MrsEG no I think that sounds like you've done very well there!!!! Can't have done any more. Got everything crossed for you. How long are your cycles normally? I was meant to get my af Boxing Day but cos I've ovulated so late I'm now not expecting it till 3/01 🙄 and we go away on Boxing day for 2 1/2 weeks with my whole family. I totally agree it's so much better just letting it happen naturally (DTD I mean) cos then you both actually enjoy it so much more and takes the pressure off. I actually wanted to DTD yday but for some reason I didn't initiate. Could have been my downfall!!

Thanks @stormtrooperjulian!! Gonna text with IC this afternoon and fx it's still there cos we probably won't DTD till tonight (DH is a bit hungover). How many DPO are you? Oh thats a blow isn't it. I know the feeling cos ofcs you're happy for her but it's so hard not to show your feelings and it is a blow. I remember when my sil got pg, I was devastated and sobbed, DH thought I was insane cos we weren't really even trying yet but they had only been together for like 2 mins. Did they conceive naturally?

@MrsLBear I’m not sure how many dpo I am. If I ovulated on CD13 like normal then I’m 13dpo today (my usual luteal phase is 12 days) but I didn’t get a +ve opk this cycle so maybe I ovulated on a different day or didn’t ovulate at all. Just got to wait it out I guess.

Well my first attempt at making penguins for my Christmas cake aren't too bad :) as promised have attached a pic!

Ok really confused now. I did my cheap opk just now, and it's definitely not a positive, so don't know which to believe now! :( What would you all do?
