Hello there
Waving tentatively from the sidelines!
I’ve been lurking on this thread (and learnt a lot!) since my DH and I started trying to conceive our first baby earlier in the autumn. We’re beginners to all of this and haven’t been doing anything fancy at all, just giving it our best shot. We’re on cycle 3, very realistic about our prospects as I’m nearly 39. 😬
I’d probably have continued to lurk if something hadn’t happened and I’d value any pearls of wisdom you friendly bunch have. I hope you don’t mind me intruding!
I’m CD 18. Usually 28 day cycles (if I count from first day of full bleed as I understand I should, rather than couple of days of spotting before) but can be a bit irregular - usually a couple of days longer if it varies, rather than shorter.
Tuesday night (CD16) I had a tiny tiny speck or two of red blood on the paper when I went to the loo. Yesterday (17) this developed into light pink spotting, evident when I wiped a couple of times. I put a pad in and there was a little spotting this morning. Very faint cramps yesterday. Today I’ve been more crampy, but still quite light and less than usual, and had slightly more much redder bleeding, but still pretty minimal. This morning it felt like it might be the start of a period but hasn’t come to much at all yet.
From my extensive googling (😉) it would seem too early to be implantation bleeding, but too late (and not correct form) to be ovulation bleeding. I don’t ever remember bleeding midway through my cycle before like this. I’ve never had as short a cycle. Not been on hormonal birth control.
I guess I just need to be patient and see what/ how this develops, and it’s probably just a freakishly short cycle and period come early but I’d welcome any thoughts on what it might be and if I should be worried. My big fear is it’s perimenopause! 😱
Thanks for reading this essay! I’ve been so grateful to follow your chat and happy to learn of all your BFPs. You seem a friendly bunch so just thought I’d ask!
