Loopyloopy · 24/11/2018 03:58

Hot flushes for weeks and period is way late but testing negative. Wondering if I'm peri - menopausal :(

Helbelle75 · 24/11/2018 04:07

Do you mind if I join you?
I'm 43, one DD who is 19 months.
Unfortunately, I had a miscarriage at 13 weeks in August. We've just started trying again, but I'm overweight, sleep deprived and still breastfeeding, so not sure it's going to happen.
Would love any tips anyone might have for improving egg quality.

Chatbash72 · 24/11/2018 04:50

Hello @Helbelle75.. so sorry for your loss.. can still fall preg whilst breastfeeding..

WishingonaStar77 · 24/11/2018 06:45

Checking in thanks Orchid.
Great news Critter 😍

Cleozeta · 24/11/2018 07:50

Whyhaveidonethis - me too! Onwards and upwards.

Loopy - a few of us have had cycles like that, thankfully it does seem to pass. The good news is if it is perimenopause, it could go on for years and has not much impact on your ability to conceive.

Welcome helbelle. For egg quality the most recommended thing is ubiquinol. (Expensive but apparently worth it)

CritterTamer · 24/11/2018 07:58

Thanks for the new thread Orchid - I can finally see this one again on the board! Haven’t been able to see the old one for weeks without using the advanced search function to find it for some weird reason.

Welcome Helbelle, for egg quality as well as ubiquinol I would recommend vit D spay, higher protein diet and fertility yoga. These things worked for me!

Cleozeta · 24/11/2018 08:18

Vit d spray? I was just about to go out and purchase vit d capsules today - would you say spray is better? What do you do with that?

Ladylorax · 24/11/2018 08:20

Hey All,

Can I join? I'm 41 TTC no 2 for 3 years and giving up hope.

Have just seen a dr who has given me Clomid as I also have PCOS. Anyone any experience with using this?

What is ubiquinol and where would you buy it?
Xx

Loopyloopy · 24/11/2018 08:23

Thanks Cleozeta - good to hear that!

Ladylorax · 24/11/2018 08:26

Sorry - another question. I've been taking multivitamin, not vitamin d on its own... should I be taking extra vitamin d?

Helbelle75 · 24/11/2018 08:44

Thanks. I will look into those things. I've had 2 miscarriages- one before DD and one after. Each time I've managed to get pregnant on the 2nd cycle, but I don't seem to be able to hang onto the pregnancies that easily.

BooseysMom · 24/11/2018 09:34

Checking in ..thank you Orchid.

Congratulations Critter Flowers

Sorry to all those who have had AF strike. I can feel mine on the way Sad

Welcome to all new ladies and sparkly winter baby dust to you all Grin

Cleozeta · 24/11/2018 09:36

Welcome ladylorax.

Ubiquinol is widely available, you can go somewhere like holland & barret or just get it online (cheaper!)
I've read recently that extra vit d is good, but not started it yet personally.

Helbelle - I've had the same. 2 mc since trying, but I have also been diagnosed as perimenopausal, so doing TCM which has helped (although not sure it did much this cycle as af 2 days early!)

Ladies who take dhea or have been to a clinic - I am really keen to start dhea but have my fertility check on 14th dec, should I hold off until after that? Would it affect anything? Or do you think its ok to just start now?

Snowie3 · 24/11/2018 10:40

Hi ladies, period due today and just done a FRER, there is a faint line.

Does anyone know how important it is to use first morning pee? I did the test not long afterwards and so not sure if I'm just kidding myself or if it really matters.

I can try to post the picture, it's so faint so not very hopeful.

Snowie3 · 24/11/2018 10:40

Here it is

Over 40 ttc - winter baby dust for me!
Snowie3 · 24/11/2018 10:42

Its so faint you cant even see it on the pic.

Ill do again later. How frustrating i had to test!!

WishingonaStar77 · 24/11/2018 11:05

@Snowie3 I think I can see it. I did a FRER not using FMU and got a similar line. I'm now almost 5 weeks. Fingers crossed x

Cleozeta · 24/11/2018 11:25

Fingers crossed for you snowie.

Does anyone else ever get brown spotting before period? I've never had it before, but having it this cycle. Worried it's low progesterone thats why I'd like to start on the dhea
