@Presh12345 , I can't believe the other person won't give you the full picture! It's their job! I was fuming yesterday at the clinic, when I arrived the receptionist didn't even know what I was there for! And I exchanged a few emails with him and even asked my doctor to send a referral letter for my scans since IVF is abroad! And then they made me wait for an hour! And the whole scan tool 5 minutes with not even a report but one liner in an email. And all of that is £130! Going to the same clinic tomorrow and Friday and just not impressed but no other options! And back home everyone is nice and loving in my clinic. I'm just hoping and praying iVF works this time.
As for embryo testing, my doctor talked to me but I just said, let's worry about it if/when it comes to it. One step at a time!
@Presh12345 keep me posted about your next scan. Fingers crossed!

TulipsTwoLips · 27/11/2018 15:32

Joining the thread... 41 now, 42 in April. No children but suddenly decided the time is right. Fingers crossed for all 🤞🏼

Cleozeta · 27/11/2018 15:45

Thanks for clearing that up about testing critter! I don't know too much about it to be honest, just what I've read up on various websites and books. I'll be interested to hear what my clinic advises. But there is the valid point of the potential of not enough embryos surviving that far anyway!
I'm hoping the DHEA I've started will help any quality issues

Cleozeta · 27/11/2018 15:45

Welcome tulips!

Presh12345 · 27/11/2018 16:05

@Russ. Was on femara last cycle for 5 days and he said it was a mild dose and worked really well. Unfortunately the iui didn't work that time so he said Gonal F was the next step. 100iu for 5 days, then a scan. But he is currently on hols (poor man needs a break. He's so nice) so his colleague did my scan. Apart from anything else, he wouldn't even put the probe in me. He got the nurse to do it!! He's a bloody obstetrician/gynocologist and he won't even insert an ultrasound probe. My doc is Greek, I'm in an Arab country and this other doc was Indian.
Unfortunately I'm back with him on Thursday but my own Greek God (lol) will be back next week and if anything major needs done between now and then, I've been assured it will be him!!
I hope you too are doing well too and keep me posted. Xx

Floofsquidge · 27/11/2018 16:13

Wow I missed a lot, congratulations @CookieWaffle!
Update from me is all going well and now at 14+5 weeks and the 12 week screening tests all came back low risk which put my mind at ease for about a week and now the MMC anxiety is back!
@Evug1234 The only thing I did differently albeit totally out of my control, was that I'd had a chemical pregnancy loss the previous cycle which can apparently make you more fertile. The month before that I started taking pregnacare conception.
I started using the Ava bracelet and natural cycles for cycle tracking 2 months before that and that made us much more clued up on my cycle.

Russkispy · 27/11/2018 16:30

@Presh12345 , well I hope your Greek god is back soon. He sounds like a nice doc! Fingers crossed for you and hoping this is your month!
My tummy is a bit bruised from injections but nothing to cry about. Yet. Haha

Russkispy · 27/11/2018 16:31

@Floofsquidge , glad is all going well!

Chatbash72 · 27/11/2018 16:48

Crikey it's gone a bit bonkers over the last few days.. struggling to keep up... congratulations @CookieWaffle and glad everything is going well @Floofsquidge...

Big bucket loads of baby dust ladies ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Evug1234 · 27/11/2018 17:14

Thanks @Floofsquidge for sharing your story......it really gives hopeSmile

Orchid222 · 27/11/2018 18:38

Welcome to all new ladies.
Critter thanks for the info re: screening, I said right away no to that (and yes it is extremely expensive!) and then 2 nights ago I stated up late reading about it. Got as far as the posibility of damaging the embryo but not to the studies, was going to keep reading over the weekend but you just have me the info I needed :) my clinic didn't advise anything as it's an individual choice really isn't it?
My scan is on Thursday, very curious to see what happens.

CritterTamer · 27/11/2018 21:15

@Orchid222 - glad it was helpful. Good luck for Thursday - is that your dat 2/3 basel8ne scan?

KahFen · 27/11/2018 21:25

Good luck to all the ladies doing IVF soon. I really hope that this cycle is the lucky one. The info about embryo testing was really helpful and interesting to read thanks Critter.

Presh and Russ and Orchid I hope your docs behave and the scans go well. Keep us posted.

Floofsquidge - sending all the best and calmest thoughts to you. I am happy that things are progressing as they should. No reason to worry. Meditiate on the positive - the BIG positive :)

The Ava bracelet looks really good - quite pricey - but Santa is due to visit ;) He could contribute :) I'll make him one of my best mince pies.
Off to go and analyse some data and see if I can make any sense of it all. My man is asleep on the sofa so let's hope that data doesn't tell me its bd night!

Night night. Good to have met you all. It has already helped being here. Thanks xx

Cleozeta · 27/11/2018 21:57

Kahfen - let me know if Santa needs a £20 off discount code for the ava!

littlemimosa · 27/11/2018 23:05

Such a lot to catch up on in only 24 hours!

Cookie - congratulations! Lovely lovely news. Please remind me again how long you were ttc and if it’s your first or not.....

Welcome to all our lovely new ladies. So great to have you all😀

Ameliel I’m sorry to hear your DH has changed his mind. That is very hard no matter how many children you have. My DH was never desperate for another (unlike me!!) but like Chat’s DH he enjoys the unprotected sex so who am I to argue! Who takes responsibility for the contraception?

CookieWaffle · 28/11/2018 05:59

Thanks ladies xxx

@littlemimosa we started in April and I've had 2 CPs since. I turned 40 this year and this will be my first!

Taxgirl1 · 28/11/2018 08:01

Wow it's difficult to keep up with everyone's news.

@Crittertamer - such lovely news about your scan. And thanks for the info about pgs. That's very interesting.

@helbelle sorry to hear about your loss. That must have been so devastating to find out at the scan. The overwhelming sick desperation when you see the screen is enough to destroy you.

@floofsquidge - great news. So happy for you.

@Ameliel can understand how tough that must be. Sending you big hugs. Give yourself some time and space to grieve your loss - it is huge and then try to focus on what you have. It's not easy I know but it does help with the pain.

Taxgirl1 · 28/11/2018 08:06

Congrats @Cookie and @snowie. Lovely news. Fingers crossed for sticky beans.

@Rose, my OH is a little ambivalent about continuing to keep trying. He's got 4 kids from a previous relationship and really wasnt bothered about any more. And we both hate the stressy scheduled sex.

So I took the steroids and progesterone that Mr Shehata prescribed but my instincts were telling me that my period was coming... I've had two bleeds since my mc - I know my hcg levels were still raised after the first bleed because I had bloods taken and it looks as though the last bleed wasn't a period either. Think this has to be my period - I think it's been trying to make its appearance for the last few days but the progesterone has kept it at bay. Do you think this will affect ovulation etc this month? I hate the feeling of being so out of control with what my body is doing. With every month that passes I become increasingly inclined to give up on trying. The yearning seems to be dissipating...but maybe it's self-defence - protecting myself from the hurt that I'll feel if I have another mc. I actually feel scared about the prospect of becoming pg... 😬

weasledee · 28/11/2018 08:48

Hi all, welcome to our new joiners :)
So weird update from me, last month we didn't try but coincidentally I started feeling sick all day, worse in the morning!! Done pregnancy test, not pregnant. Been to see docs on Monday as it's now driving me mad, I feel sick ALL the time :(
Doc asked me a couple of times "are u sure you're not pregnant?!" I'm not, so don't know what's going on. I asked her if she thought it was the menopause and she said unlikely.... Had blood tests so just waiting on those now, bit worried tbh....

Helbelle75 · 28/11/2018 09:05

@weasledee I felt sick all last month as well. Was convinced I was pregnant, but AF turned up on schedule.
I'm fine this month. I wonder what it is? I put it down to anxiety in the end.

Rose68 · 28/11/2018 09:18

@weasledee and @Hellbelle75 I sometimes feel sick for a few days before my period comes x

Cleozeta · 28/11/2018 09:57

Weasle, it could be hormone related. I was convinced I was pregnant last year as I was feeling sick when hungry (typical pregnancy symptom for me) and my period was late. Turned out I wasn't. I think it was just wacky hormones unfortunately. (And I think I was taking too much B6)

Have you charted or done opks for this cycle? Any idea when af may be due? Remember when karigan kept getting bfn's but a scan confirmed she was pregnant? Our bodies are a mystery, it could be either! Or anything!

weasledee · 28/11/2018 12:09

So we didn't try this cycle and I'm due on next Monday. It's so weird, I do feel more sick in the morning and feel better when eaten, but all tests are very BFN. But the sickness is quite bad and really driving me mad...
Can you remind me what happened with Karigan? I'm wondering if they might test for pregnancy on the blood test regardless of what I said about not being pregnant....

Cleozeta · 28/11/2018 13:08

Might be to early to show on a hpt yet.
Karigan had a feeling she was pg but all tests came back bfn and af didn't show for ages. A scan showed early pregnancy but it wasn't viable unfortunately

weasledee · 28/11/2018 13:19

Oh yes, I remember now, I don't think I am pregnant but I do think it's a hormonal problem...
