Hello all of you lovely mumsnet peeps! So I have literally just created an account right now.

Just stopped my mini pill. Have a 15 month old son, excited and nervous to try for baby 2! Baby one came after first period from stopping pill which i know was very fortunate but its given my high expectations for this time...which is not a good thing as chances are wont happen that way twice. Trying to be realistic and casual about it. Hmm

Anyone else trying for second... or first?

@Scarletrose18 honestly getting married whilst pregnant was amazing! I was on such a high that I felt great all day. Grin Plus our little girl was included in the ceremony and the speeches which was so special. I can't wait to show her the video when she's older! I did have to get a new dress but I ended up liking my maternity dress more anyway. Smile

Hope you enjoyed your baby-free shower! Its the little things. 😂

@Cocobana I've definitely heard of the OPKs just not working for some people, but it doesn't mean that they don't ovulate! I think your CM is a really good sign though. Smile Perhaps your cycle has just stretched out a little after having your DS and being on the pill?

Scarletrose18 · 24/11/2018 19:00

Oh really @cheesemumma you must be a fertile fiona for 4 days after!! (Plus some strong swimmers) Lol.
We dtd last Friday and I got a positive OPK on Sun morning so i assume I ovulated Monday or maybe Tuesday... anyway, we didnt dtd again. Im waiting on my AF (should hopefully be here next sun/mon) then we want to ttc that December cycle

Has ur hubby found out yet?

Thats so lovely and special, she will always know she was a part of your day. Also a plus that you will have had that pregnancy glow for your photos Smile @pastasaucehoarder
Shower was lovely but I have came down to the sky box being tampered with and a cupboard emptied onto the floor ... was it worth it I ask myself 😂

Oh dear @Scarletrose18, I hope he didn't make too much of a mess! 😂 DD has suddenly developed an interest in going through the cupboards too, she particularly likes the snack cupboard. Hmm

Yes fingers crossed for AF next week for you! Are you using any tracking apps at the mo?

Scarletrose18 · 24/11/2018 19:25

Not using anything. Im not sure what to use as i dont have any previous cycles to input yet. What do u use?

Yes I can relate to your dd's interest in the snack cupboard 😁 Not too much, but hes after the rest of my toblerone... i love him, but not enough to share 😂 He had some lovely natural no added sugar bio yogurt instead. Poor thing.

@cheesemumma thanks, I’ve been testing twice a day through my fertility window (well what I thought my window was!)
Thanks @PastaSauceHoarder yeah it could be and I’ve been reading that the first couple of cycles after coming off the pill can be disrupted so I’m starting to think maybe this is the reason and that it’s later like you said.
@Scarletrose18 oh no on the cupboard front lol toddlers haha! They’re into everything aren’t they!? Hopefully your ds won’t manage to swipe some of your chocolate!
Thanks so much for posting your opks, one of the ones pictured is darker than anything I’ve had. They’ve been such faint lines. I’m def getting more symptoms and I’m guessing my ovulation is late. I know it sounds strange but I haven’t felt like I’ve ovulated yet (just no signs until today) ans something is telling me I have DTD tonight. Poor dh is shattered and needing a break but I’ve told him he has to just get this week finished and do his husbandly duty 😂

Cocobana · 24/11/2018 19:47

and*+

Scarletrose18 · 24/11/2018 20:02

Husbandly duty 😂 I think the top one is a dark evap line, I remember being so gutted that month as I wanted a baby so badly lol. Well ur tests may suddenly jump to dark so heres hoping. Thats good that you feel you are going to ov too... go dtd then hold your legs in the air after 😂

Iv just put him into bed so I can eat my toblerone and doritos in peace now... if I dont get a baby belly within the next few months I will defo have a food baby 🤣

OP posts:
Cocobana · 24/11/2018 20:12

Haha food baby 😂 me too, I think I have one at the moment after my gigantic dinner I ate far too much and feels so bloated! Ds is like that he wants tastes of everything, sometimes if I’m eating something he can’t have I have his cheese straws or some fruit to hand and used to give him that instead but that isn’t working anymore, he knows it’s not legit the little tinker! Evap lines are the worst and I think the midstream sticks are prone to them, I had a terrible one in October and really thought I was pregnant; really messes with your head Confused

cheesemumma · 24/11/2018 20:26

I know. So don't count this month out yet @scarlet!!

Husbandly duty . Haha. I'm pretty sure our dtd got less romantic and a lot quicker as time went on TTC Dd1! I think we didnt do the deed for about 3 months after we found out haha.

DD just managed to smash the Calpol bottle on the kitchen floor whilst I was giving her a dose- rotten cold. So a lovely sticky mess to clean up now!!

Cocobana · 24/11/2018 20:47

@cheesemumma oh no, ds is obsessed with the medicine bottles too he grabs it and runs off with it he’s a cheeky little monkey. I think that’s happening to us, at first it dh thought all of his birthdays has come at once but now it’s becoming where we need a night off lol.

Cocobana · 24/11/2018 20:47

Scarletrose18 · 24/11/2018 22:50

@cocobana I know, I felt so gutted and then less than 2 weeks later... positive pregnancy test. Lol. Just shows the opks dont always pick up ovulation. This is the first time i have used the strips, i defo think they are better... and cheaper

Its hard to keep their snacks healthy all the time. My in laws are always pushing for him to have junk food. They have been doing it since he was 6 months old. It makes things harder.

@cheesemumma u should make dh clean it up, after all your pregnant and need to take it easy 😉

OP posts:
Scarletrose18 · 24/11/2018 22:57

Thats a horrible feeling @coco , im sure you were gutted, hopefully this month is your month and u get a bfp regardless of what your opk tests say! I have read a few posts on this about people asking for "line eyes" and its been an evap line or a faulty test. So obvously it happens more often than we realise... like the whole process isnt emotional enough!

I think I read that the Sainsburys ones give false positives so dont buy those!!

Cocobana · 24/11/2018 23:03

@Scarletrose18 I think I must have ovulated earlier in the week. I had my first faint second line on opk 18th November (CD9) and then a faint line everyday until tonight where it looked even lighter almost blank. Then I looked up the cm I had and it appears not to be fertile cm. I have also noticed my cervix is low and firm, it wasn’t earlier in the week. All of the signs now point that if I have ovulated I’ve missed it despite testing twice a a day since Tuesday. We DTD CD6, 7, 8, 13, 14, 15 and CD16 today. I have no idea when I’ve ovulated of if I even have. Sad

Cocobana · 24/11/2018 23:06

I think I need to now wait for AF due 7th December and start again for my next cycle to try and catch a +opk. I’ve never looked out for it before so for all I know this could be normal for me. Oh yeah and and dh were both abit gutted because it looked so convincing. I much prefer the strips now.

Cocobana · 24/11/2018 23:07

Scarletrose18 · 24/11/2018 23:17

Im sorry @coco but dont give up yet, it could still come, you are only cd16 so it could suddenly go dark. And u have dtd loads so you have a super good chance of catching it still. I know its easier said than done but dont get down about it yet! Wait and see what happens.

OP posts:
Scarletrose18 · 24/11/2018 23:18

The other thing is, remember ages before my pos opk i had alot of ewcm but I had less around ov time so that doesnt necesarily mean youre not fertile this cycle either.

OP posts:
PastaSauceHoarder · 24/11/2018 23:24

Don't be disheartened @Cocobana, even if you missed it look at how much you've DTD! If its been and gone you've still got such a good chance and you might have caught that egg without knowing. Smile
And if not, like @Scarletrose18 said it still might be on its way yet!

Cocobana · 24/11/2018 23:33

Thanks @Scarletrose18 and @PastaSauceHoarder I don’t know what I’d do without you lovely ladies x
I hope so, even if I didn’t catch the egg I just hope I did ovulate. With my cervix being so low I think it’s either been and gone or not happened at all. It’s so strange because I did get AF and they do say it’s rare not to ovulate if you’re getting regular AF. I guess I won’t know until next month, gosh what a journey this is. Thanks again both of you 😃👍🏼

Cocobana · 24/11/2018 23:34

And apologise for rabbiting on about myself!

Mfbroome · 25/11/2018 10:53

@pasta Ahhh that is super special being pregnant on ur wedding day 😍 my mumwas 7 months pregnant with me when she married my dad and I always felt as if I was there! very special xxx
Sorry I’m not quite with the flow of convo I find it hard to stay on my phone too long without a little person asking for a snack lol. I’m trying to keep up though 🤪😂

Has anyone had any connection between their heart rates and ovulation or tww? I feel like my resting HR has been elevated a few days now and I’ve beem googling and it could potentially be a good sign ???
