@Crossfitgirl that's how I dealt with it. By telling certain people and most of my small office I was pregnant as you don't realise how much you need to talk about it if something does happen ❤️

@Crossfitgir that sounds like a wise way to go. Have you had reflexology before? I tried it for the first time a few months ago and found it utterly heavenly!

FivexFive · 13/11/2018 18:38

@crossfitgirl, same! My work know we are trying as I was getting a lot of comments asking if we were etc.

Some opinions please ladies...
I know it's maybe too early to be thinking this but here goes... dh and I have chatted about what if this doesn't happen (say spring/summer time). For various reasons, we don't think ivf is the way for us. Instead we both came up with adoption. Obviously it's a massive thing that we'd have to talk over, just a half thought right now. Has anyone else had these thoughts, or know anyone who went down that road? Xx

purplefig · 13/11/2018 18:59

@FivexFiv how long have you been trying? I haven't considered it yet (as we're only on Cycle 3) but it's definitely something I would consider. Various family members of mine are adopted and I think it is a wonderful thing. x

ValidUser · 13/11/2018 19:13

Congratulations @SophiePie!

And @cupcakesandglitter I totally get that!

ValidUser · 13/11/2018 19:15

@FivexFive I've thought about adopting, but because we're both doctors and move job occasionally and don't own our house, I'm not sure they'd consider us ideal candidates.

I would consider it if ivf didn't work out when we do own a house.

FivexFive · 13/11/2018 19:24

@purplefig, came off the pill in Fmfeb/march and started properly trying july/aug so it's not too long in the grand scheme of things. It just came up this week while we were having what I call a 'deep and meaningful'!!
@Validuser, well to be honest, not sure we'd be accepted either! We have bought a house (mortgaged obviously!) But although we're not in debt/bad off we aren't exactly high earners either. My friend got turned down and she's literally the best person I've ever met so God knows how it works!

Also, apologies to @SophiePie I missed your bfp post! Massive congrats :)

SullyWifey · 13/11/2018 19:47

@EltzBee my OPK came back very much negative. Strange, as last two days have had nearly positive and this one is nothing. Faulty test strip maybe?

Ladies how much EWCM do you normally get? Now Iv just had a bit of a shock as when I went to do OPK there was LOADS in my knickers, like Iv never had so much! I normally get the smallest amount like one day a month and sometimes not even anything at all. But today...what the hell?? Maybe this where my body has been going wrong??!

Crossfitgirl · 13/11/2018 19:55

@fivexfive yes, me! I was told when I got my PCOS diagnosis years ago i may need help to concieve, and I have seen my sister go through 4 rnds of failed IVF. Despite being young, only trying for about 6 months etc, I have been on the council website and looked up all the adoption options, even looked at private agencies , adopting from another country, and who they will consider.
So no, it's always good to keep your options open I think. I mean, I would be horrified if i was infertile and adopting isn't my choice, but if I can't have my own then that's what I'd want.
And as DH was also paranoid he was infertile (before he had his SA which came back totally fine) we discussed what we would do in that situation and we agreed we would explore all options.
It doesn't mean you're giving up, just means you're sensible about the future and prepared in any eventuality, however unlikely it is! Xx

Crossfitgirl · 13/11/2018 20:05

@sullywifey I usually just get quite small amounts. But wipe myself totally dry after the loo each time as I hate feeling wet and have a weak bladder so might just be wiping it all away! Haha. Have you had sex recently? I've definitely had what I thought was LOADS before but actually it just been leftovers from sex a day or two before... lol

@purplefig I had it once on holiday, and I did a complementary therapies course once and did an introduction to it so had people practice on my feet, I just love having my feet massaged! Have you had a proper reflexologist? I haven't, well not the proper Chinese medicine trained ones anyway lol.

Btw I am so sorry if I have missed some posts or people that have tagged me, I just physically can't keep up with the thread and am so busy at the moment.... So sorry I'm being a bit shit for anyone that's taken time to reply etc and not got a response! In fact please tag me if I've done that to you and I'll try scroll back and find the comment!

There is so many new people too I can't get in my head who everyone is! Lol xx

BabySquid · 13/11/2018 20:41

Wow my goodness this thread does get long so quickly!
My bestie is pregnant, she's been pregnant for as long as we've been trying, nearly 7 months now, and it feels like a lifetime!! And I hate saying it but I do feel envious every time I see her. But I'm also SO happy for them.
I've been so busy at work this week already it feels like I've not stopped. Will have to make more an effort to keep up with the tread!
@SophiePie many congrats hun so happy for you. Please spread some of that baby dust this way!!
I'm currently 1DPO and feel that this TWW is going to last forever!! SSP will be out soon!

Also, I think we should be able to talk more openly about TTC, and not just announcing pregnancy. It's such a hard journey and people need to know why you're not drinking, cutting back on caffeine etc so they don't break our heart when they start assuming it's coz🤰🏼

stormtrooperjulian · 13/11/2018 21:04

@FivexFive I think we would try ivf first, but a friend of mine has adopted two amazing children, I think the process is quite long and intrusive but i guess it’s worth it in the end!

@SullyWifey @crossfitgirl I find it difficult to tell the difference between ewcm and leftovers from sex, when it’s the right time of month for ewcm then we’re dtd a lot anyway so I’m never sure which I’m seeing!

@BabySquid it’s so hard when it’s someone you care about isn’t it, wanting to be happy for them and at the same time thinking how unfair it is that it isn’t you!

SophiePie · 13/11/2018 21:13

@MrsAW2018 Thank you

Crossfitgirl · 13/11/2018 21:40

Thanks @Sophiepie. congratulations on your BFP! Can I ask... how much sex you had etc this month? Did you time it? We tried every other day last month and was so sure it would work!! It didnt... lol

@purplefig just seen you asked about moving- we are meant to be moving this Friday, which is why I'm so busy. To a 5 bed house! With no kids!! Forever home and all that.... really hope it's not long before we can fill it with children 😭😭😭

MrsR16 · 13/11/2018 22:42

@FivexFive my parents went down the adoption route! They were having massive problems with miscarriages (mum had 7 in total) so were going through the motions and close to signing paperwork when they fell pregnant with my eldest sister!

@SophiePie congratulations!!

Rachael321 · 13/11/2018 23:07

Evening ladies, hope you are all well!
Driving myself crazy symptom spotting!
Crazily tired, peeing lots, sore back, stomach pains like muscular tightness, headaches, lots of cm, skin broken out in spots which is unusual for me.
AF due Friday and usually my boobs would be so painful by now and they feel totally fine!

Now to read back and see what I've missed... again! X

SophiePie · 13/11/2018 23:56

@MrsR16 @crossfitgirl Thank you

KatBeCool · 14/11/2018 01:35

@FivexFive DH and I talked about adoption but our views vary. He'd want an infant while I'm on with older. But it is tough to discuss as we obviously would rather prefer our own.

Anyone else around 8 DPO?

@Delilah7 I was going to write earlier but got distracted. So glad your hcg numbers are great!

@stormtrooperjulian the biggest difference between ewcm and... not ewcm, is that ewcm is very stretchy and stringy.

Hadaley · 14/11/2018 05:49

So upset as I was yesterday, so bewildered am I now.

As I said, yesterday morning I had a clear positive ovulation test, and thought my previous LH surge was probably a dud cause it had come so early in my cycle. I'm not due for AF until the 22nd of November.

Someone here suggested it might be a sign of pregnancy. I took a test, and it was BFN. However, my urine was pretty diluted when I tested (tmi) so I thought I'd test again last night. Faint line! I couldn't believe it, but husband saw it too.

I've been awake for hours (lol) and decided to test again.

BFP! Still faint on a sensitive test... but unmistakeable.

I still don't know whether I have an absurdly long luteal phase, or was just experiencing a freakishly short (for me) cycle.

Hadaley · 14/11/2018 05:58

By the way, we did discuss adoption, especially because my pregnancy is higher risk because of my health. But my health would pose difficulties during the adoption process as well, because many countries demand rather stringent health checks. It is definitely something we would consider, though. I think adoption is wonderful, and I would love just to raise a kid and have a family, and copying our own genes is less important to us. But that is us. It's a tough and very individual decision.

BabySquid · 14/11/2018 06:14

OMG @Hadaley congratulations girl. If it's such a faint line give it a day or two and test again. But yaaaay.
Just out of interest what a-i do you have?
My husband has MS and I was worried that his daily meds 💉 might affect his 💦 but his specialist says we shouldn't have a problem. (However, 7 months of trying!!!)

Hadaley · 14/11/2018 06:25

@BabySquid

Thank you!! I still can barely believe it.

I put the picture up in the other thread; will post it here as well! Hope it is big enough (I already removed it from my laptop cause I have to teach today and I don't want to accidentally have it pop up in front of my students during the powerpoint lecture, haha).

I have Sjögren's syndrome. I was also told it shouldn't affect fertility, but there's a slightly higher risk of complications (and I cannot use my meds at the moment). I hope you'll get your BFP soon!

Congrats @Headley. Did you feel any different?!

mrsof20118 · 14/11/2018 06:59

Very weird spike on my chart this morning. Maybe I'm coming down with a cold or something?!
