@mrseg just read that it’s best to ask a doctor before x

MrsEG · 06/11/2018 10:30

@sunshine1987 Thanks, I’ll pop in to the pharmacy this week. I’m sure it’s fine but you question everything don’t you!

sunshine1987 · 06/11/2018 10:32

@mrseg yeah of course, you also don’t want to worry if you were pregnant and had the jab about it either x

EltzBee · 06/11/2018 10:39

Thanks @MrsEG - needed the advice from you ladies (DH doesn't get it at all lol!).

I've never had a flu vaccine. We both got flu last winter and it was absolutely awful - I came down with it first and DH looked after me, then he came down with it and as I was recovering was trying to look after him. We were both wrecks for a week or so!

I'm never sure about the flu-jab to be honest (other vaccines I totally get) - even having had flu, I don't think I'd bother with having the flu jab...

MrsEG · 06/11/2018 10:47

@EltzBee Same - I get it mainly as I was so so poorly when I had flu and just never want it again, but I agree it’s a funny jab as you can only ever be protected against past strains and no new ones! I’ll chat to the pharmacist and see what they think. Flu is doing the rounds local to me at the moment so just do not want it at all!

ValidUser · 06/11/2018 10:55

@MrsEG doctor here who has flu jab myself every year, including this year (while TTC!). 😊

ValidUser · 06/11/2018 10:55

I feel pukey today. Think it may have been the carrot cake, but DEFINITELY a pregnancy symptom. 😊

MrsEG · 06/11/2018 11:01

@ValidUser Ah fab, thank you! Fingers crossed for you :)

starkid · 06/11/2018 11:50

Feel like I'm probably going to be due on today or tomorrow so I panicked and POAS, got a BFN :( mind you, if I am due on, it's only 8-9dpo, which doesn't seem long. CD27. Gah!

@ValidUser @MrsC87 - fingers crossed for you both in the next couple of days!

cupcakesandglitter · 06/11/2018 14:11

@starkid sorry if she turns up ❤️ xx

For the ladies that have had their pelvic scan, how long did it take for you all to hear anything? I've not had a letter or anything for referral yet x

SullyWifey · 06/11/2018 14:26

@cupcakesandglitter are you talking about an ultrasound?

If so, i got mine within 2 weeks of being referred and got the results on the day as everything was clear for me xx

cupcakesandglitter · 06/11/2018 14:29

@SullyWifey I have no idea 😂 I saw the doctor last week Tuesday, and he's referred me for day 21 bloods and a pelvic scan to check for cysts etc, is that the same thing? Hopefully just another week to wait for me too, getting impatient 😩 x

SullyWifey · 06/11/2018 14:34

@cupcakesandglitter I am pretty sure it is same thing as they were checking for cysts for me too! It's an external ultrasound followed by an internal. It sounded scary but I didn't think was bad at all. Albeit quite uncomfortable.

They wrote to me with my appointment so fingers crossed you get it soon xx

cupcakesandglitter · 06/11/2018 14:38

Thankyou @SullyWifey XX

Cardi86 · 06/11/2018 16:53

Thanks @crossfitgirl, we’ve been trying for 13 months long months now! How about you? I have PCOS so had 5 months of Clomid but it thinned my lining so this month I was given something else called tamoxifen. I think I might have messed up with the digital tests - I didn’t use an early morning urine for the first one yesterday and today I got a flashing smiley, so I’m thinking it’s a false positive?!!

@MrsEG I asked my doc about the flu vaccine for the same reason and was told if you need the vaccine and are TTC you have more a reason to get it because all pregnant women should be getting it. Hope that helps

starkid · 06/11/2018 17:02

@RanchoRelaxo @Delilah7 - How are you both feeling at the mo? :)

Delilah7 · 06/11/2018 17:03

@starkid bloated to shitttttt. I'm 5 weeks today so long way to go! You ok? X

starkid · 06/11/2018 17:10

@Delilah7 - Bloated already! Pregnancy is crazy, our poor bodies.
I'm ok, just waiting for AF which I'm pretty sure will be here soon judging by how i'm feeling today :( told DH he has to stop being so sociable during the fertile week next time haha!

purplefig · 06/11/2018 17:11

Hi guys! I've been lurking in this thread for a while and thought it's probably time I joined in Smile

We're currently TTC #1. I'm 27 and came off of BC at the end of July this year. It took 5 weeks for my first bleed (I don't think it counts as a 'proper' cycle?) and then I had a 35 day cycle. Currently on the next cycle at CD35 with no sign of AF yet. Really convinced myself this was the month and got quite upset this morning with a very stark BFN.

We've taken quite a laid back approach so far but have just ordered 'The impatient woman's guide to getting pregnant' and some OPK sticks, so it looks like my easygoing time limit is obviously up Grin

(Quite impressed with myself at all using all those acronyms, hopefully to some degree of accuracy...told you I've been lurking! Blush )

SullyWifey · 06/11/2018 17:22

@purplefig welcome honey!! I was the same for a good few weeks on this thread 😂 lurking! Then I had a meltdown of a day and decided I needed to reach out! It's really helped having a support group of people in the same situation!

We also took a very laid back approach for the first couple of months and then as time went on I realised I couldn't be cool about it anymore and we needed to start timing a bit more! Which DH does find hard as to him it's "very militant" and I know he feels a lot of pressure to perform!

Sorry about your BFN...they are so rubbish and do not get easier!! (I'm also 27 came off BC and my cycles went straight back which I was so thankful of, but yet here we are on cycle 11)

Keep us posted on AF, I hope she doesn't turn up xxx

Delilah7 · 06/11/2018 17:27

@starkid honestly I feel SO heavy it's hilarious. Want the symptoms to all continue! Xx

@purplefig welcome lovely x x

@SullyWifey thanks for your kind message! Smile And I'm glad to hear you have found support on this thread, I can imagine it's comforting to know you're not alone in this crazy journey.

I hadn't realised quite what a head fuck this whole TTC malarkey would be tbh. I was quite taken aback by my tearful reaction this morning, I think I'd just really convinced myself it was going to be a BFP.

Totally get that it might seem a bit more militant! I think we've been doing it on completely the wrong days though, so keen to see what the OPKs say.

Delilah7 · 06/11/2018 17:30

@SullyWifey we love youuuuu. Honestly @purplefig it can be a whirlwind of a journey. Just try and take a relaxed approach, I hate saying that as I didn't for the first few months! But it works! X x

@Delilah7 thanks for the welcome Smile and good advice I'm sure!

Delilah7 · 06/11/2018 17:33

@purplefig I like to think I can advise good. I was pregnant in August and now currently pregnant again after the MC!
