Good luck today @Rose68 xxx

weasledee · 09/11/2018 10:10

Questions ladies, I've noticed the past few weeks my chest is getting gradually more tender. It's got to the point now where I'd describe it a painful starting at my armpit on one side but the other side is still tender. There's no lumps but obvs still worried. But also wondering if its menopause as also noticed I'm feeling sick quite often.... anyone else felt like this? I'm going to give it a week and then go the docs if not settled.....

eloisa246 · 09/11/2018 10:16

Good luck Rose - may the force be with you.
Littlemimosa - I'm well, thanks. It's been a hard year but there is so much to learn in this process.
Weasledee - I've had this too and got worried about it. It was nothing to worry about though - there is breast tissue under the armpit which changes with hormonal changes. I had an ultrasound and all was fine.

lots of love to all.xx

Cleozeta · 09/11/2018 10:32

Weasle - I've had this too, although it tends to be with hormonal fluctuations. I had it during my annovulatory cycle and also when I was pregnant.

Rose68 · 09/11/2018 10:42

Hi Ladies, my scan did not go so well. It is measuring small for where I should be date wise, with uncertain cardiac activity. I have a follow up scan in 2 weeks time.
The report says I have a pregnancy of uncertain viability.

Orchid222 · 09/11/2018 10:51

Oh I'm so sorry Rose the scan didn't go as well as expected :( I had an empty gestational sac at my scan in May and had to wait 2 weeks too. But the good news is I did a lot of reading during the wait and there were so many stories of babies catching up size wise and heartbeats suddenly being found quite late in the prwgnancy so I think there's definitely hope! Keeping my fingers crossed that in 2 weeks time you'll have better news x

Sorry to hear it wasn't the best result rose, but as orchid says, there is still hope, it's not over yet. Fingers crossed for you

mellongoose · 09/11/2018 12:01

@Rose68 I'm so sorry. Hugs for you during the next couple of weeks. Could your dates be mixed up at all or am I clutching at straws?

Rose68 · 09/11/2018 12:18

Yes clutching at straws Mellon. I just want this to be over with now. Why have I done this to myself!

CritterTamer · 09/11/2018 13:14

@Rose68 I’m so sorry that things are looking so uncertain. I really hope that the next two weeks passes quickly for you and that things catch up so that you get better news at the next scan xxx

Dinah99 · 09/11/2018 13:56

@Rose68 sending big hugs, so sorry it wasn't the news you were hoping for very hard to deal with, but like others said there is still hope, it's just awful having to wait another 2 weeks. You said you went to scan alone, have you anyone with you now? Much love xx

Rose68 · 09/11/2018 15:48

Dinah - thank you, yes DH is here now. He landed just after the scan, the EPU here only scans between 8 and 9:15 am. He tried to change his flight last night but that would have cost £4K.
Orchid - would you mind if I asked how many weeks were you at your first scan and if you make it to the second 2 weeks later? Being in limbo for 2 weeks sounds like something of a nightmare.

PetraRabbit · 09/11/2018 16:24

Oh Rose....how stressful! Try to stay hopeful. It won't be easy but I've read lots of cases of uncertain pregnancies at this stage catching up with dates. If this thread has taught us anything, it's that none of this is an exact science. I feel for you!

CritterTamer · 09/11/2018 17:34

Just an update from me - I’ve also had a scan today at 7 weeks 1 day. Just got to hear two amazing loud heartbeats for the first time as well as seeing them - I think for the first time it actually feels real now and I can hardly believe I have two tiny lives inside me! Both babies measuring over date as well - one is at 7+2 and the other at 7+5! The clinic are very happy, and even better - they’ve finally said the OHSS has improved enough that I can stop the bloody painful blood thinner injections 😊 one more scan at the clinic in two weeks time then they’ll discharge me off to the midwife if all is still well.

Cleozeta · 09/11/2018 18:16

Congrats critter, thats great news Smile how lovely to be having 2. Can you remind me, are they your first?

CritterTamer · 09/11/2018 18:17

@Cleozeta - yes first ever pregnancy...😳

Cleozeta · 09/11/2018 20:42

How exciting! Thats perfect, sibling already sorted at the same time. Bet you are extatic! Very happy and excited for you Grin

PetraRabbit · 09/11/2018 22:42

Critter, I still can't believe you have a ready made family cooking in there!!! Are you going to find out if they are boys, girls or one of each? Any inklings? And presumably they are fraternal not identical?

Taxgirl1 · 09/11/2018 22:43

Oh Rose. I’m so sorry for what you’re going through right now. I know how it feels and it’s so tough. Waiting is torture. There’s nothing worse than the rollercoaster of emotions. You sound as though you are being very tough on yourself. Be gentle with yourself. It’s still early days. There’s time for the little bean to develop. Big hugs. Stay strong. Keep busy xx

Taxgirl1 · 09/11/2018 22:44

Congrats Critter. It’s lovely news

PetraRabbit · 09/11/2018 22:51

While I'm here, I wondered if any of you very knowledgeable people had been advised by Chinese practitioners, IVF doctors, accupuncturists or other specialists about exercise? I conceived my DC at 41 when I was doing 5 tough gym classes a week, mainly weights and pilates, but some HIIT training too. I always felt my fitness helped my fertility but my reflexologist (the only 'expert' I've seen) was disaproving of me getting back into gym too much especially of cardio stuff because if the adrenalin. I've put on weight in the nearly 1.5 years since my DC was born and feel instinctively less healthy than I did then so I've been seeing a personal trainer and got breathless a few times. Is this so bad? It helps my mood and esteem and gives me something to think about that's not TTC. Thoughts??

Cleozeta · 09/11/2018 23:37

Petra - from what I've heard & read, there is a fine line where too much exercise can cause issues with fertility (and ovulation) but at the same time, being fit and a certain amout of exercise is beneficial. It also depends on the person and what is normal for you. I think just do what feels right for you, as long as you are not completely overdoing it, it's probably fine

Chatbash72 · 10/11/2018 00:04

Ooh @Rose68 keeping fingers crossed for you for next 2 weeks that little one is just playing catch up.. and @CritterTamer fab news x

PetraRabbit · 10/11/2018 00:54

Cleo- that's what I thought! I think it can get confusing because a lot of advice tends to assume women who exercise a lot are low on body fat....not in my case! Even when I was in seriously great shape I was on the absolute top end or over 'normal' BMI. I'm more worried my currently high BMI is a problem for fertility.
