Hi All,

Sorry I posted then disappeared... I had a chemical last month in the end now in my TWW so not much to update. Love reading all these updates from you guys though, keeps me positive 😊

I was going to start taking flax but after reading your posts I might not risk it!

I've tried Soy Isoflavones but immediately started getting chest pains (I have history with my heart) so stopped immediately.
But may have been connected to overdosing on Vit D which I recently read can have that effect.

X

Russkispy · 06/11/2018 20:05

IUI all done. The dominant follicle on the left grew up to 22x23mm! And on the right, 1 of them grew up to 17mm. That's a massive change from yesterday (right side). Lining was measured at 11.5. All looking good. dH's sample was very good too! Testing at 11/12dpiui.

Chatbash72 · 06/11/2018 21:00

Ooh @WishingonaStar77 so sorry for your CP..... the tww sucks
@Russkispy all sounds good x

Cleozeta · 06/11/2018 21:35

Wishing - sorry to hear about your chemical. I had one last month too. Sucks.
It does seem to be more common in our age group sadly. When I had my 2 dc in my 30's I wasn't even aware there was such a thing.

Russkispy - all sounds positive, fingers crossed!

Chatbash72 · 06/11/2018 22:18

I'm out... bloody af.... but at least she's here and only the eve before she's due... silver lining and all that jazz x

littlemimosa · 06/11/2018 22:50

Chat so sorry for af:(
Wishing sorry to you to for the chemical.

Cleo - no I haven’t taken anything. I’m so chicken to take anything which might further mess with my already deranged cycles. Although I am still drinking the ‘yummy tea’! To hear you say it straightened out your cycles tho is so tempting. Which CD did you start? It’ll be a while before I could start it tho as without ovulation I won’t get AF.....
dhea is v tempting too. My problem is I read and research too much and end up putting myself off things!

littlemimosa · 06/11/2018 22:54

Cleo in my situation what would you prioritise (Vitex, dhea, soy etc) bearing in mind I already take:
TCM herbs
Ubiquinol
Multi vits
EPO
Vit E and B complex
Royal Jelly.

Gawd.

PetraRabbit · 06/11/2018 22:57

I'm reading updates now and it's good to see so much action in this group. Ruskispy that is very impressive and I wish you luck! Critter- wow! And do stick around please! Rose- let us know how you get on. It is so hard not to write everything off but you should have some hope! For anyone with recent AF- boooo, roll on next cycle. So, with me, DH is away for my fertile week this cycle...but then my fertile days are varying a bit so I'm going to see what happens, with low expectations. A less pressurised month might be a good thing- as others have said.

Cleozeta · 06/11/2018 23:42

Chat - sorry af has landed.

Mimosa - I highly recommend soy isoflavones as your situation sounds very similar to mine, but you have to wait until af and take cd 2-5 (I think), if you want to try and move things on now vitex might help and you can take that straight away. Hopefully the yummy tea will help too. The other suppliments on your list are fine to take alongside.
Have you had the cd3 checks? If your fsh is high you can take wheatgrass which helps with that

Petra - a less pressured 'do what you can' may be all it takes!

Chatbash72 · 07/11/2018 07:16

@PetraRabbit do wait for "fertile times" the older you get the more unpredictable the ov is... they can pop at anytime... my af has started and the ovaries are already twinging... 🤦‍♀️

Chatbash72 · 07/11/2018 07:17

@PetraRabbit DON'T wait for fertile times not do... sorry tired

Russkispy · 07/11/2018 08:01

Asked doctor about DHEA intake during tww. She said pregnant women don't take DHEA! Well, let's just hope I am this cycle!
If BFN, will restart DHEA
Away for acupuncture 😉 have a good day everyone!

Taxgirl1 · 07/11/2018 09:33

Hi everyone. I’ve been lurking for a while trying to keep up with everything. Was feeling a little all consumed so had to step back for a while. Rose stop testing. Urine tests are hugely unreliable and the clear blue ones that tell you how far along you are are bad for your head. I was obsessed with them before I miscarried. Couldn’t stop testing. The scan will tell you more or ask for blood tests to check your HCG - I’m sure you know but they do it 48 hours apart to check hcg levels are doubling.

Russ - good luck. All sounds very promising.

Chat and wishing - so sorry for you both.

I’ve finally got my period two months after my miscarriage. My head feels straighter and I’ve got my joie de vivre back. I’m not sure whether I actually want to try again. Can’t go through it again...

I did go to see Mr Shehata the other week. Get my results back on Monday. I didn’t really like him. He seemed quite defensive when I probed him about his treatments.
Anyhow, he recommends a pregnancy multivitamin and omega 3, vitamin D3 (500mcgs) and low dose aspirin pre conception. Just thought I’d share that

Cleozeta · 07/11/2018 10:05

Russkispy - are they suggesting you only take dhea in the follicular phase? I was under the impression it helped with progesterone so would be good for the 2ww, and stop with a positive test.

Taxgirl - who is mr shehata? Was it fertility checks you had? Which ones? Does he recommend those suppliments for you specifically or in general? What is the baby asprin for? I've heard its good in early pregnancy for people with blood clotting issues and for older ladies after 12 weeks to help prevent pre eclempsia

mellongoose · 07/11/2018 12:05

Sorry for the AFs and chemicals. Arrgh. Ladies, please be kind to yourselves.

I had my scan yesterday. NT measurement is 1.4 which is good but we need to wait for the blood test results. Lovely to see a little heartbeat going like the clappers.

I relaxed after the scan but now have stupidly read stories where the NT was low and the risk was still high. Stupid google!!!

Rose68 · 07/11/2018 12:09

Great news Mellon! Step away from google, perhaps I should take that advice too.

I know I shouldn’t have, but clear blue digital was back up to 3+ this morning. I’m still not confident for Friday though. What will be will be I guess x

Russkispy · 07/11/2018 12:15

@Cleozeta , when I started taking DHEA it was cd5. I took it up to IUI day, cd11. And asked her right away if I needed to carry on with it. She said no! Restart if I get BFN. Separately I taking progesterone pills and other pills to help implantation and for a bean to stick. Guess I don't need to take DHEA after all. I trust my doctor 👩‍⚕️

Cleozeta · 07/11/2018 12:22

Mellon great news about your scan! Step away from google, yoy've had the confirmation that all is fine, don't stress yourself unnecessarily. Enjoy it!

Rose - same to you, stop stressing abput what might go wrong and enjoy the fact that you are currently pregnant Smile

Russkispy - yes I would trust the doctor too! And it makes sense as you are taking other things for progesterone. What other things are you taking for implantation etc?

PetraRabbit · 07/11/2018 13:12

There's some really detailed advice here. Thanks for sharing! When you say don't wait for fertile times, do you mean plenty of TTC outside of EWCM days? I don't temp. Started with OPKs last month but don't really trust them. It seems all rules are different once you get over 40.
Mellon- that's wonderful. Heartbeats are the dream for all of us here! Did you consider a NIPT or Harmony test for peace of mind? They are really expensive. I wish the NHS did them for over 40s (or at least from 41 or 42) because paying nearly £500 hurts!
Rose- keep us updated. Hoping for you!
Taxgirl- have you already got any DC? Sorry wasn't sure. MC does take it out of you. It took me a couple of months to feel more stable too.

Chatbash72 · 07/11/2018 14:56

Yes @PetraRabbit deffo throughout the month and especially on non ewcm days... my bestie conceived on the day her period finished.. and she's in her early - mid 40's.. I often throw out an early day 5 egg.. Mother Nature gets cheeky.. I don't use ov test strips either.. x

Chatbash72 · 07/11/2018 14:57

@mellongoose fantastic news xx

mellongoose · 07/11/2018 15:34

@PetraRabbit they said that if I come back high risk then I can get it on the NHS for "cost price" which is £275.

Thanks again for the kind words ladies.

@Rose68 thinking of you and hoping all goes well on Friday.

Can't remember who asked but my BFP came when I dtd outside normal ov window. I think I ov a couple of days early.

Cleozeta · 07/11/2018 16:21

I track ovulation obsessively and have discovered a few things recently, one of them being that by the time I'm most fertile, ewcm has already been an gone, so I have to use preseed to compensate. Had I of dtd based on ewcm, the boat would have been missed.

CritterTamer · 07/11/2018 17:03

Great news @Mellongoose, I’m so glad your scan went well 😊

BooseysMom · 07/11/2018 17:37

Chat...sorry to hear AF struck!!

Wishing... sorry to hear about your chemical. I think I recall it happening.

Taxgirl...sorry to hear about your mc.

Mellon... good news about your scan.😀

Cleo..I have been mainly going by ewcm and I reckon the same as you..I keep missing the boat! Dtd 2 or 3x over the fertile phase just aint enough!
