9dpo and negative test

I wondered if anyone else would like to share their experience with me! I am 9dpo and took a test this morning and it was BFN. Is this way too early to test? I see lots of people getting BFP at 9dpo and wondered if there should definitely be even the faintest line? I’m so impatient and the wait is killing me. I tested using the FR 6 days earlier test so really if going by that, I should have shown positive as AF is due on Friday. I’d love to hear other people’s experiences as I feel I can’t really speak to any of my friends as they all conceived first month of trying and wouldn’t understand. We are on our third cycle of TTC and I know this isn’t long at all.
Thanks in advance xx

@MrsMcNtobe I reccomend reading some late positive posts it's very uplifting and reassuring! 😀 xx
I have one test left! But i read opk tests also sometimes show up BFP so I might waste a few of those over the weekend

Martina2311 · 05/10/2018 20:59

@MrsMcNtobe i think 9 dpo can be still very early to test. I've read that on average it takes about 9 days for the fertalised egg to reach the place where it implants. It can be a little less days but also a little more. Then from the implantation, it takes 1-2 days for the hormon hcg to appear in the blood and 3-4 days in the urine. So if you think aprox 9 days + 3 before it gets to your urine, that takes you to about 12 dpo. And it can be even longer...So it explaines why sometimes women don't get BFP until after their AF is due. Just saying this because at least for me it's really reassuring that maybe the tests are really negative only because the process takes just a bit longer than I would think. Really nothing is lost until AF ❤🤗

MrsMcNtobe · 05/10/2018 21:47

@Fuddlestix i’ll Definitely look at some of the posts, I think I’m concentrating more on the early positives when realistically there probably rare!

@Martina2311 that makes perfect sense! let’s just keep positive and telling ourselves we’re still in the game

emma88P · 05/10/2018 23:06

Still getting negitive tests 9dpo. Will hold out for a flo now i think. Hoping to hear a positive from our wee group soon!! Xxx

Marshmallow1992 · 05/10/2018 23:54

I found this chart online I hope you can find it useful. It shows that you can implant up to 12dpo and then the maximum levels of HGC you can have so a test may not pick up to well after AF is due. Everyone is different depending on when they implanted. Hope it’s useful!
I want to know more about LH surge. I got a positive on cycle day 16 which I’m assuming I ovulated on day 17. I know LH surge means you might not have ovulated and as I don’t temp I don’t 100% know! Does anyone actually know what the chances are of not actually ovulating with LH surge? I was on the pill for ten years so obviously that stops me from ovulating so would I get an LH surge whilst on the pill but not ovulate if that makes sense? I don’t know if because I’ve came off the pill after being on it for so long does that mean it might take me a while to start ovulating again? Or does LH surge mean I probably have ovulated?
Sorry I am beginning to sound like a paranoid wreck 😂 but I can’t find much information on this anywhere!!

Well I assumed I was out 2 days ago because I had started spotting but absolutely nothing since!! I’m on cd 29 and Af is due today but to be honest, it could still come tomorrow!! But I always spot the day before! I guess only time will tell.

I swear since ttc my cycles have been messed up! Lol x

Rememberallball · 06/10/2018 10:00

Ladies, a quick word of advice.

HCG needs to build up in our urine for tests to pick it up. The best time to test is if you’ve not drunk, or pee’d for a minimum of 4-6 hours. This is why HPT instructions are to test with the first morning urine. If you’re going to test days and days before AF is due you are trying to detect the minutest levels of HCG and using afternoon or evening urine is going to reduce the chances of tests detecting it if it is present.

Also check the detection levels of the tests. Some detect as little as 12nmol/l urine while others aren’t sensitive and don’t detect below 50-60nmol/l (frer are far more sensitive that CB - and CB digital are less sensitive again!!)

Marshmallow1992 · 06/10/2018 10:20

@Rememberallball I am 13dpo with a very regular cycle. AF was due yesterday but nothing and nothing again today. Took a FRER test this morning and I’m not sure looking at it. Husband thinks looking at it there might be a slight slight line but I can’t see it 😭. Should I have a strong line by now? I’m really worried as I don’t think I’m pregnant but why is AF late. Could it still be I don’t have enough hormones even for this test do you think? Today I have real cramps but still no AF. Usually when I have cramp AF hits me like a tonne of bricks. I’m so confused and stressed. It’s so unfair for us ladies!

How is everyone else getting on?

Martina2311 · 06/10/2018 10:30

I always wake up around 3-4 am because i need to go to the loo. Do you think I should do the test with this urine or the one later when I wake up again at 7-8 am? Or is there no difference?

Martina2311 · 06/10/2018 10:32

Omg, I feel for you @Marshmallow1992! This is so confusing, isnt it? Its like our bodies are enjoying tricking us and testing our patience!

Rememberallball · 06/10/2018 11:01

@Marshmallow1992, you may well have a regular cycle but have ovulated later than usual. You can never say you’re ‘out’ till AF arrives so, at the moment, you’re still in with a chance. I would test every couple of days with a sensitive test until AF puts in an appearance or you get a positive result. I’m over 4 years into this journey with DH and, due to low AMH and my age, we are now having IVF but I can also remember every month wondering if I was successful, if I’d actually ov’d (and have proof that 2 out of 5 consecutive months of blood tests, I didn’t actually ov even though I seemed to have positive opk’s) looking for every twinge or symptom which were ‘proof’ AF wasn’t putting in an appearance but all to no avail!!

Marshmallow1992 · 06/10/2018 12:05

@Rememberallball sorry to hear that. Wish you every success with IVF.

I have really bad cramp just now but no AF. It’s driving me insane! Just because I know how my body works and know this isn’t normal. I just want to know either way and if I’m not then can try again next cycle.

Martina2311 · 07/10/2018 09:21

Hi girls, also a little update from me. AF due tomorrow, all tests including today's FU are negative with FRER. I had my hopes up especially because my breasts are still not hurting as usually before my period and I get night sweats the 2-3 nights before too...nothing this month. It was always really reliable sign. Dont know what's different this month. Also my lower back last week hurting a lot during the time I could have a potential implantation. Also feeling nauseous when hungry. But I'm 12 DPO today and feel like with FRER I should by now have at least a faint one. Slowly loosing my optimism. :/
Like you said, feel like my body is changing and tricking me so much since I know it is possible. I really dont know what to think anymore.

emma88P · 07/10/2018 09:45

Still neg & flo due tomorrow, i just hope it doesnt come!! Im certain i ovulated on cycle day 22! Dont know what to do differnetly next month if flo doesnt come! On my chart Calender days should read cycle day btw....& xxx means dtd.

Hey girls I’ve been reading a bit this morning - here’s a good link showing people that have had BFPs later..
