9dpo and negative test

I wondered if anyone else would like to share their experience with me! I am 9dpo and took a test this morning and it was BFN. Is this way too early to test? I see lots of people getting BFP at 9dpo and wondered if there should definitely be even the faintest line? I’m so impatient and the wait is killing me. I tested using the FR 6 days earlier test so really if going by that, I should have shown positive as AF is due on Friday. I’d love to hear other people’s experiences as I feel I can’t really speak to any of my friends as they all conceived first month of trying and wouldn’t understand. We are on our third cycle of TTC and I know this isn’t long at all.

I didn't get a noticable line until I was 11 dpo. Now 7 weeks :). Wishing you all the best

@Amolly that’s good to hear, thanks! I’m really unsure, I don’t feel pregnant at all - no symptoms. Last month I had lots of symptoms and wasn’t pregnant. So I don’t know if this is a good thing or bad thing. I hate how all these tests say 6 days early etc! I’m so impatient so took a test and it just got me so down. I know I should really wait but it’s just so hard. I suppose I’ll know by Friday. Thanks for your response!

I’m in a similar place to you. I am due on Friday and Tested with a fr yesterday which was BFN. My symptoms of PMT are similar to pregnancy symptoms so it’s super confusing.

I’m going to wait until Friday and if AF doesn’t come then I’ll test. I’m saying that now but there are two tests in my drawer that I’ll probably not be able to resist taking. Do you know when you ovulated? That’s what I’m trying to go on. I’m 9dpo and hoping that it’s because it’s too soon for the hormones to show up on the test. Wishful thinking but it’s all I’ve got just now!

I have told myself to wait till Friday, but it’s so hard isn’t it. I have been using the clue app to try and figure out when I ovulate. According the app it was around 21st but been dtd as much as possible. I’m only on cycle 3 so still trying to get to grips with it all. My mind is constantly symptom spotting. Fx for us both! Have you an idea when you ovulated?

@Dotty356 I had a + OPK test on 22nd so assuming I ovulated on 23rd. We DTD 20th and twice on 22nd so hoping I’m well covered! I’m only on cycle 3 too. I was on the pill for 10 years previous to this so unsure if that will affect my first few cycles but hoping it doesn’t. The TWW feels like a lifetime. Really hoping a positive outcome for us both! I should know by Friday as all of my cycles have been very regular 28 days since coming off the pill.

Google pregnancy test results by brand. That will give you a good idea of the statistics for results by dpo... 9 dpo is very early!!!

@Marshmallow1992 I think we are having a parallel cycle! I’m also 9dpo today, did a frer this morning and a bfn. Cycle 3 for me too and also due af Friday 🙈. It’s been a emotionally tricky day.

@Chanel05 when are you going to test again? Will this be your first? It’s very emotionally draining 😭. Just want to know either way!

Yes ttc first baby! Are you? Want to try and hold out till Friday now as I feel that I’ll know if af is coming on Thursday. What do you think you’ll do? I don’t know about you but I keep seeing / hearing about babies and births EVERYWHERE at the minute.

I got a positive on the 9th day but it was such a squinter I almost missed it, had to reallllly squint and then the next day it was much clearer but still not really bright. Next time I'm going to wait until I miss the period as the test was much clearer and easier to read then. Good luck for Friday, everyone is different! Fingers crossed for you

I got my positive 10dpo. But remember you don’t really know for sure unless you’ve been testing. And even then the time from a positive ovulation test to actually ovulating varies quite a bit. I used a first response test then just to see if they would work too tried an amazon cheap test and that showed up positive too so save your money if you’re going to be addicted to early testing and buy the cheap tests. Hopefully that won’t be an issue though because this will turn out to be your month.

@Chanel05 yes first baby too! I’m the exact same. My work colleague told me she was expecting today, and my friend last week! My friend’s sister too. Feel like it’s ecerywhere! Many of my friends conceived first month trying as well and I feel like I can’t speak to them about this! A big emotional mess right now. Although I do understand that 3 cycles isn’t a huge amount of time and lots of other woman have been trying for longer. I’m going to try my best and wait until Friday. Fingers and toes xd for us!

Yeah 9dpo is early still! Most women implant at about 9dpo and it takes even FRERs at least further day to pick up enough hormone to get a line. You might not implant till 12dpo in which case a FRER wouldn't be able to pick up a BFP 6 days before AF due. Hope that makes sense. Good luck

@MrsMcNtobe i had some bloating, but i really dont trust them signs anymore. Have you had any? I just want to feel a wee implantation cramp! Testing Sunday 🤞🤞🤞

@emma88P I’ve had a couple of really really light twinges but tbh I know I’m only noticing them cos I’m TTC! Plus bloating, had a massive appetite then today no appetite. I’m assuming implantation cramp is gonna be like a real crampy feeling? Xx

@MrsMcNtobe Yes aparantly its very like a period cramp and can last an hour or a whole day anytime between 7-12 days post ovulation. After that the chemical that gives you a positive test doubles every 2 days! Hoping this is our month! Have you been trying long? Xxx

@emma88P this is our 2nd month. What about you? I’ve only been up for a little while but no symptoms so far today xx

@MrsMcNtobe did you end up doing a FRER? Im 7po, did a test yesterday because I nearly passed out with twinges, hot flushes, light headedness and excessive CM, never experienced anything like this before AF. Came up negative but I'm not due AF til Sunday/Monday it feels like an eternity waiting to see if my body is playing cruel tricks

@Fuddlestix no I haven’t done one yet, thought I had a Tesco early one lying about but I don’t, it’s probably for the best. Just need to try holding off buying any til the weekend! I want to think that I have some light cramping but I honestly don’t know if it’s in my head! Appetite has gone and I feel a tiny bit nauseous. How you feeling today?

@MrsMcNtobe I don't know if there's any real way of knowing until missed period (bah). The luteal phase does nutty things to our bodies that might mimic pregnancy symptoms, I like hearing about how people knew in the 2 week wait though. You'll have to let us know your result when you test. I'm so excited for everyone!!

Hey @fuddleskix! Im in the same boat as you! Did a test but was neg, have to wait til Sunday! I might do another tonight though! Cant help myself!!🙈
