Hi all,

I’m 33, DP is 36 and in second month of ttc#1. (Am fairly new here so don’t know all the acronyms). I have pcos so realise that might be a challenge but have a fairly normal 28 day cycle. I have been totally taken in by all the conception gadgets and have bought a Clearblue fertility monitor and am waiting for the Ava bracelet to arrive... mental I know!!

I find the 20 somethings in other ttc threads a bit intimidatingly young, perky and fertile, but recognise those in the 35 or 40+ threads may have different experiences, so don’t want to be an under-age imposter!

Anyway, if anyone is in the same boat and wants to share their journey (fingers crossed ending up with a BFP!) then post below... xxx

Can I join please? I recognise some of you from the September and October buses. I am 31 ttc #1 and think this will be a good thread for me. We are on cycle 6ish but Starting to feel the frustrations!

AmyinNLondon · 05/10/2018 11:29

Hi @veebo! Welcome!

Is it too late for me to join?
I'm 30, DH is 34 (and has a 10year old dd from his first marriage). We've been ttc for about 20 cycles now. Haven't yet found somewhere I quite fit in on the other boards....

We haven't had any tests or anything yet and have actually stopped monitoring/ checking/ tracking and scheduling everything for the last few months now.

40cmsanta · 05/10/2018 19:18

@mrsof20118 keeping my fingers crossed for you this month!!

@KnitKitty I really hope it is not AF. Let's hope she doesn't show.

AF arrived for me this morning (witch). Bring on the next cycle!

Welcome @veeboo and @GreenIsMyColour5! @GreenIsMyColour5 hopefully the laid back approach does the trick!

40cmsanta · 05/10/2018 19:19

@AmyinNLondon how are you getting on? Had any morning sickness etc?

AmyinNLondon · 05/10/2018 20:50

Hi @40cmsanta no symptoms at all! Weirdly makes me feel worried but I know that’s not logical. Am just feeling a bit tired!

Sorry to hear about AF. Enjoy a few weeks having some wine and not symptom spotting and FINGERS CROSSED NEXT MONTH IS YOUR MONTH FOR BFP!

Hey just turned 30 this year does that count? Dp is 44 with 2 dc..... many many story to tell. Two years been ttcing now such a slog

Owlpatrol · 05/10/2018 21:03

Forgot to mention to children from previous obviously!

40cmsanta · 05/10/2018 21:45

@AmyinNLondon I am sure the worry is natural. I imagine I would be totally the same!... and still find something to worry about even if I had ALL of the symptoms Grin

Welcome @Owlpatrol. I think you've made the in- betweeners now Wink

Syncope · 06/10/2018 08:23

Hi @veeboo, @GreenIsMyColour5 and @Owlpatrol, welcome!

Sorry AF turned up @40cmsanta, hope next cycle is luckier for you.

@KnitKitty have you had any more bleeding? Hope AF has stayed away.

I did a cheapy strip test yesterday - BFN, but not at all surprised as I don't think I'm more than roughly 9 or 10 DPO. Will just have to wait and see if AF shows up. Might take another next Wednesday if no sign by then (now watch me ignore that and test every day from now on... Grin)

Glad you're feeling well @AmyinNLondon, hope feeling good continues!

Owlpatrol · 06/10/2018 08:49

Thank you! I'm about 4 dpo today. Good luck everyone. I've caught up with the first few pages and this does look like a lucky thread! Even op got preggers after 20 months how exciting! I'm on month 23 so hoping this is some positive dust

40cmsanta · 06/10/2018 09:13

@Syncope Haha, its a test of your willpower over the next few days to see if you resist POAS!! Good luck!!

@Owlpatrol sending lots of baby dust your way!

ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts · 06/10/2018 18:34

Not sure if anyone else has felt like this..
I have no real interest in having sex right now. AF was early. So I'm out for this cycle. But..
I've read that so many people have such an increase in sex drive when they come off the pill.. but I don't seem to have had that.. more of the opposite. Does that mean I'm not ovulating? Hmm

veeboo · 07/10/2018 10:55

Ah I dont think this thread has been lucky for me. 8dpo and the AF cramps have started like clockwork! X

40cmsanta · 07/10/2018 11:24

@ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts I have come off the coil, not the pill, but I have heard it is supposed to have a similar effect - I haven't experienced it though. I think being more 'organised' with DTD also removes some of the fun. At least that is what I am putting it down to.

I'm tacking BTB this month so that should show if ovualtuon occurs

40cmsanta · 07/10/2018 11:26

*BBT, not BTB.

@veeboo, Damn. Fingers crossed that it is not AF. When is she due?

veeboo · 07/10/2018 14:59

Hi @40cmsanta. Saturday i think and I tend to get cramps 6/7 days before.

KnitKitty · 07/10/2018 18:35

Hi to the newcomers!

@40cmsanta sorry AF showed. Fresh new cycle, fresh new start. Let's hope a lovely little egg is waiting in their to pop out and turn into a baby this month!

@AmyinNLondon Don't worry about not really having any symptoms. They'll come and go and you might not really get any at all. Not everyone gets lots of morning sickness and things. Just enjoy feeling well for as long as it lasts!

Sorry about the BFN @Syncope, hopefully it's just too early to tell.

@Owlpatrol good luck with the TWW.

@ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts No, it doesn't mean you're not ovulating. I'm the same. Was warned my sex drive would sky-rocket when off the pill and it hasn't at all. I often get a slight increase in randiness around time of O, but I could still take it or leave it. And I know I ovulate because I've been pregnant 3 times this year. For me I think it's just a symptom of being slightly older...

@veeboo The problem with the TWW is that PMS symptoms are exactly the same as pregnancy symptoms. Don't lose hope just yet. Hope it's a good sign.

So I'm still only spotting, if you can even call it that. Less today than yesterday. This isn't my norm. If I spot before AF it's usually the day before only. The only other time this has happened was when I was pregnant in February. But I'm too scared to test as I find AF showing up easier than seeing a BFN. I am wondering if I should test in the morning though. In two minds.

mrsof20118 · 08/10/2018 06:58

@KnitKitty how many dpo are you now? X

KnitKitty · 08/10/2018 07:12

12 - 14 DPO. BFN this morning. Still no period. Sigh.

AmyinNLondon · 08/10/2018 07:18

@knitknitty May have missed but when would you expect AF to arrive in other circumstances?

OP posts:
KnitKitty · 08/10/2018 07:34

I'm between 12-14 DPO today. I usually get AF 12DPO and rarely have any spotting beforehand, but if I do it's only the day before AF. I've been spotting for 3 days now; tiny amount on Friday, more on Saturday and then hardly anything yesterday. I just did a Clearblue and it came back negative, although something keeps catching my eye but I think I'm just being deluded. Wondering about getting some FRER today. My body is trolling me.

mrsof20118 · 08/10/2018 18:40

Get a first response @KnitKitty to put your mind at rest.

@AmyinNLondon try not to worry so early to have symptoms still. Have you booked in with midwife etc for first appointment?

Think I'm coming up to fertile window. Going to be a long month!

Syncope · 08/10/2018 19:16

@KnitKitty can you post a photo of the test?

Well AF turned up today for me. Meh. On the plus side it was a nice sensible 32 day cycle so I think my cycles might be settling down now after coming off the pill.

40cmsanta · 08/10/2018 19:35

Argh @Syncope, gutted for you. Glad to hear the cycles are settling though

A FRER is a good idea @KnitKitty. This waiting thing is so horrible!
