Hi all,

I’m 33, DP is 36 and in second month of ttc#1. (Am fairly new here so don’t know all the acronyms). I have pcos so realise that might be a challenge but have a fairly normal 28 day cycle. I have been totally taken in by all the conception gadgets and have bought a Clearblue fertility monitor and am waiting for the Ava bracelet to arrive... mental I know!!

I find the 20 somethings in other ttc threads a bit intimidatingly young, perky and fertile, but recognise those in the 35 or 40+ threads may have different experiences, so don’t want to be an under-age imposter!

Anyway, if anyone is in the same boat and wants to share their journey (fingers crossed ending up with a BFP!) then post below... xxx

@claudia84 sorry af came. I'm not doing very well at symptom spotting, despite my rational brain knowing they all have alternative reasons and its too early to symptom spot! e.g. nausea/heartburn (ibs), back/hip pain worse (cold weather), feeling run down (I am!) and pains in my uterus (af due). Why does the tww turn me into a complete loon? Hmm

ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts · 02/10/2018 08:48

What's the earliest you can test and get a reliable result? I'm currently 10dpo (haven't been doing ovulation testing, going going by the app glow). Don't have an symptoms or anything. AF due Saturday. Just wondering really. Only came off the pill in August, so early days and unlikely.

KnitKitty · 02/10/2018 09:37

@40cmsanta Have you got any news?

@MuddyElephant I turn into a loon too. I'm about 6/7DPO now I think and I'm already symptom spotting despite telling myself I wouldn't. Sore boobs (although I never get those, pregnant or otherwise so think it's just because of my bra/might have put weight on), they do feel heavy as well, but then, PMS. Sigh. Patience is so hard!

@ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts that's a tricky question to answer because it depends when you implant. Generally a two to three days after implantation you will start to see a positive pregnancy test. So even with FRER which say you can test 6 days before period, it will still depend if you've actually already implanted or not by then. Some women get positives at 10DPO, others not until about 14DPO.

40cmsanta · 02/10/2018 10:12

@KnitKitty it was a BFN Sad I had to go to Mamas and Papas to pick up a gift for a friend and it made me want a BFP even more, and I wasn't sure that was possible.

Not out yet, but AF due Thursday (4th). I will be away with work from tomorrow and not back till the 12th. DH suggested that I take a test with me and POAS if AF hasn't come by Saturday.

If AF does come, I will be back just in time for the next O window!

AmyinNLondon · 02/10/2018 10:30

@40cmsanta - so sorry abt BFN. Fingers crossed for Saturday BFP.

It’s awful feeling jealous of your friends or feeling a twinge of resentment when you hear of another baby being born. But glad am not the only one...

Just got to the airport and picked up my currency. You know your TTC when all you can see in this image is someone checking for EWCM Grin

Thanks @AmyinNLondon. I realise that I am being a bit giddy testing early, and getting my hopes up when we are only on cycle two. I have brought my thermometer to start some BBT tracking, and if AF does come, then we will be then set for cycle 3 Smile

AmyinNLondon · 03/10/2018 08:01

@40cmsanta LOL at airport EWCM image.

KnitKitty · 03/10/2018 17:28

Sorry about BFN @40cmsanta*. That's really hilarious about the currency at the airport!!! Haha

Claudia84 · 03/10/2018 19:10

That is brilliant @40cmsanta 😂

Syncope · 04/10/2018 08:23

@40cmsanta sorry you're feeling down after going shopping - I know just what you mean, multiple women I work with are pregnant and the endless 'it'll be you next!' comments are getting increasingly difficult not to snap at. Love the EWCM currency. Grin

Well I've started dreaming about taking pregnancy tests! Grin I suspect I'm somewhere between 8 DPO and 15 DPO, although frankly I could be completely wrong. No sign of AF yet but did have the tiniest bit of spotting on Tuesday which is not normal for me at all.

ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts · 04/10/2018 08:53

AF has arrived 4 days early for me. Fingers crossed for next month

KnitKitty · 04/10/2018 09:04

@Syncope Have you taken a pregnancy test? Having dreams about strong positive tests was one of my first signs of pregnancy... Just saying...

KnitKitty · 04/10/2018 09:10

Sorry AF showed @ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts, but I guess at least she had the decency to turn up early to avoid you getting your hopes up too much. Fresh cycle now! Good luck this 'month'.

I'm pretty sure I've got really bad PMS this month. Heavy boobs, increased appetite, facial spots and having to actively stop thinking about work on my day off because I keep getting annoyed at stuff I'm thinking about. I think I'm about 4 days away from AF, but these symptoms only usually turn up a couple of days before, so I might be in for an early one too.

Syncope · 04/10/2018 11:49

@ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts sorry AF arrived, fingers crossed for next cycle.

@KnitKitty I haven't yet - was trying to hold off until next Wednesday as I suspect I ovulated later but might crack and try one tomorrow morning instead! Hope your PMS symptoms turn out to be pre-BFP symptoms instead...

MuddyElephant · 04/10/2018 16:25

AF here for me too. Bloody painful too Sad

40cmsanta · 04/10/2018 18:06

Sorry about AF @ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts and @MuddyElephant. I'm expecting mine any minute. Due today and woke up with bad cramps. I took some painkillers this morning, but the cramps have left. I must look totally incontinent the amount I have been going to the loo!!

I hate to say it @Syncope, could the spotting be an IB? Does it fit with the dates if you have had nothing else since Tuesday?

mrsof20118 · 04/10/2018 18:12

I am back joining you ladies after a chemical/early miscarriage. Had a bleed the weekend and negative test yesterday. Onwards and upwards x

KnitKitty · 04/10/2018 19:41

@Syncope Fingers crossed for you. Hope it's a BFP, and sorry for getting your hopes up if it's not... Confused Have you been getting any symptoms? The bleeding on Tuesday seems suspicious.

@MuddyElephant Sorry AF started hun.

Sorry @mrsof20118 I've had a MMC and two chemicals this year, it truely sucks. As you say, onwards and upwards. I hope you get a sticky one really soon!

Claudia84 · 04/10/2018 19:42

Sorry about AF arrival @muddyelephant and @Fortheloveofdoughnuts. Good way of looking at it @knitkitty - at least it’s less time not knowing.

And I’m so very sorry @mrsof20118 that’s so utter shite. How are you doing?

40cmsanta · 04/10/2018 20:04

So sorry @mrsof20118 totally gutted for you

Syncope · 04/10/2018 21:42

So sorry to hear that @mrsof20118.Flowers

@MuddyElephant sorry AF turned up.

@40cmsanta if I ovulated when I suspect I did, the spotting would have been at 7 DPO, so it could have been. Time will tell, I suppose. Don't worry @KnitKitty, I'm sure I'd be getting my hopes up all on my own anyway. Grin Not getting any symptoms other than very sore nipples/breasts that has lasted much longer than normal (5 or 6 days instead of the 2 or 3 I've had previously) and that one brief episode of spotting that's out of the ordinary for me. Was going to try to hold off testing until next Wednesday, if AF doesn't turn up before, as I think I'm only around 9 DPO today. Not sure I'll be able to hold out til then though!

mrsof20118 · 05/10/2018 07:43

Thanks all. Doing ok now. Was rubbish last weekend but I know how common these things are unfortunately. Back onto tracking temp from yesterday so fingers crossed we might get another bfp this month x

AmyinNLondon · 05/10/2018 08:12

Oh @mrsof20118 so sorry to hear of miscarriage. Have everything crossed for you for another BFP that sticks this month! Sending hugs and luck!

Sorry for TMI, but; I'm either 9, 10 or 11 DPO today and this morning when checking cervix my finger came out with a small spot of really old looking blood on it. I checked again and nothing the second time. I think my cervix is still sitting quite high though, although I'm not very good at telling. So I think maybe I'm going to start AF tomorrow. Confused
