Hi all,

I’m 33, DP is 36 and in second month of ttc#1. (Am fairly new here so don’t know all the acronyms). I have pcos so realise that might be a challenge but have a fairly normal 28 day cycle. I have been totally taken in by all the conception gadgets and have bought a Clearblue fertility monitor and am waiting for the Ava bracelet to arrive... mental I know!!

I find the 20 somethings in other ttc threads a bit intimidatingly young, perky and fertile, but recognise those in the 35 or 40+ threads may have different experiences, so don’t want to be an under-age imposter!

Anyway, if anyone is in the same boat and wants to share their journey (fingers crossed ending up with a BFP!) then post below... xxx

Hi AmyinNLondon. I'm 33 too and on first real cycle after stopping the pill last month.

Dotty356 · 06/09/2018 08:21

Hi,
I’m 32 and just started ttc. I’m fairly knew to all this so just looking for any advice possible. :-)

Maximoo06 · 06/09/2018 08:22

Hi I'm 33 too and partner is 36. Been trying for about 2 years with no luck, having fertility tests at the moment. Also have PCOS.

AmyinNLondon · 06/09/2018 09:13

@maximoo Good luck with your tests! Do you know what they're looking for?

I am in CD9 and CBFM has seen a surge in estrogen... Not sure if that's enough of a sign yet.

Anyone else entering their FW?

Hi
I'm 30, my OH is 32.
TTC for the first time & very nervous.
I've got a history of ovarian cysts and fibroids. So don't expect this to be easy.

I'm not whether it was worth tracking this early on?
I took my last pill on 8th August, had breakthrough bleed 10th-15th.

AmyinNLondon · 06/09/2018 10:53

Hi @ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts! How exciting!!! Might be worth waiting for the pill to work its way out of your system? Maybe next cycle it's worth testing. But others will know more. Good luck!

@AmyinNLondon well at the moment it's unexplained infertility as male sperm okay my blood tests are fine and had hycosy which showed a cyst and PCOS. Now waiting to have a laparoscopy to double check for endometriosis, praying I get BFP before I have to had that but doubtful, AF due in a few days and have symptoms.

AmyinNLondon · 06/09/2018 11:08

Ah @Maximoo06 am keeping everything crossed for you... (except legs obv...Wink).

Sounds like tests may shed some light and a potential way through? But I may feel different if I had been ttc for a bit longer.

Ha ha me too Wink
Yes will probably have to go down the ivf route, which is hard Confused

mrsof20118 · 06/09/2018 20:57

@Maximoo06 fingers crossed for you too. Have they said how long the wait time is for laparoscopy?

mrsof20118 · 06/09/2018 20:58

@ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts no harm in beginning to track. Have you got any apps? I've started using flo

AmyinNLondon · 06/09/2018 21:15

@mrsof20118 ooh me too. I like it more than fertility friend. A bit more user friendly.

ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts · 06/09/2018 21:29

@mrsof20118 yes, Ive downloaded glow. It seems quite good. (Though I guess I have no idea what I expect?) I will check flo out Smile

Lorraine1985 · 06/09/2018 21:44

Hello, I am nearly 33. TTC for 2 years now. Been to doctors and this was my first cycle on clomid to help regulate my Cycle. I'm feeling excited for this cycle as I know chances are higher I hope it all works out this month. Good luck to you all ladies!

ValidUser · 06/09/2018 21:48

Late 20s TTC here! Feel too old for early 20s and too late for 30s, so rightly or not I get you!

Maximoo06 · 06/09/2018 22:12

@mrsof20118 I've got the laparoscopy beginning of October so not too long of a wait but can't ttc after next period incase I'm pregnant when they do the operation.

I've got the period tracker app and have also been using clear blue ovulation tests

AmyinNLondon · 07/09/2018 15:58

@Lorraine1985 good luck for this cycle. I think I might end up going down the Clomid route. Was it hard to get it? I mean, did you have to have loads of different tests?

This thread is a great idea, mind if I jump in? I'm also feeling too old for most TTC groups but too young for the 35 + groups.

I'm 32 and DH is 34. I stopped the pill at the end of May so we are now on cycle 4 TTC #1. For the first couple of cycles we weren't really trying and hoped it would just happen, but for this cycle we are actively timing BD. I'm currently CD 8, due to O around CD 16 so will be testing about 30 Sep. I think everything is working ok down there, but I was on the pill for about 15 years so everything is a surprise right now!

Good luck everyone!

inkworks273 · 08/09/2018 06:43

Hi everyone. I'll be 32 at the end of the month. DH is 37. This is our first cycle and I'm currently about 11dpo. AF due in 6 days. I took a frer yesterday and was BFN. I didn't expect the tww to be so hard but I've been symptom spotting like crazy and was so disappointed yesterday.

mrsof20118 · 08/09/2018 07:14

@babyclicks same with me having been on the pill for so long I'm not sure what's normal for my body

mrsof20118 · 08/09/2018 07:15

@inkworks273 hard to not though! I've got a few fr waiting for when I might need them

gebs · 08/09/2018 07:38

Can I join?
My husband and I are both 30, stopped the pill after 12 years end of May. Luckily my cycles have returned though are a little longer than most (34 days on average ish)

The first couple months I did no tracking, and knew nothing about timings, so this month is my first proper trying month. Downloaded flow and bought some cheap ovulation sticks, got a very close 'almost positive' before running out so think i ovulated last weds/thurs. My period is due in 6/7 days, took one of those '6 day early response' tests yesterday but was negative. Don't feel much different to normal other than tender boobs and feeling hot. But any slight cramp/twinge gets my brain symptom spotting 😂

I also have a hormone imbalance - produce too much prolactin which is being treated by tablets, apparently these tablets should help ttc but I am a worrier haha!

BeautifulSlang · 08/09/2018 08:24

I'm 31, as is my DH. We are TTC1. Had a BFP 2 months ago, which sadly ended a gew days later in a CP. I've never felt such a wave of emotion in a matter of days. Cycles been pretty messed up since.

stormtrooperjulian · 08/09/2018 08:47

Hi, can I join?
I’m 31 and on CD1 of cycle 2. Had my implant out in July and I seem to be back to 28 day cycles which is good I guess, I was worried that it would take months for things to get back to normal.
