Hi all,

I’m 33, DP is 36 and in second month of ttc#1. (Am fairly new here so don’t know all the acronyms). I have pcos so realise that might be a challenge but have a fairly normal 28 day cycle. I have been totally taken in by all the conception gadgets and have bought a Clearblue fertility monitor and am waiting for the Ava bracelet to arrive... mental I know!!

I find the 20 somethings in other ttc threads a bit intimidatingly young, perky and fertile, but recognise those in the 35 or 40+ threads may have different experiences, so don’t want to be an under-age imposter!

Anyway, if anyone is in the same boat and wants to share their journey (fingers crossed ending up with a BFP!) then post below... xxx

Congratulations @BabyClicks ! That is great news!!

I am about to make this thread less lucky I think 😕
I am 14dpo, 2 days late for af and bfn frers! Just don't know what is going on!
I am going on holiday on Saturday so I am sure it is af just biding her time to hit me as I go away.

Hi @40cmsanta - I think the symptoms just depend what is normal for you with cm. I always get loads of creamy cm before af but other people are completely dry so I reckon it's whatever is unusual could be a sign?
I think that's a lovely idea with your DH although would he get upset if you test without him when he asked you to wait? If not I would go for it! I always test without DH knowing as a bfn makes me so sad and I would feel the pressure if he was waiting for the result.

MuddyElephant · 27/09/2018 07:14

Just caught up on the thread and so many positives, congrats everyone Grin

40cmsanta · 27/09/2018 07:18

@AmyinNLondon that is some willpower. How long so you think you will wait before testing?

@FlapJackered one of my issues is that my coil stopped any AF for so many years, I am not sure what is normal! The CM didn't happen last month, but i have no other symptoms so i am trying to keep a reasonable head on and not get my hopes up. It is still early in the TTC journey for us.

I will try and hold off testing. To be honest I usually test without DH too. You can build up so much hope in that 3 minute wait that I do it solo and don't share the emotional rollercoaster. I think he's more bothered that if I tell him while he is away, we won't be able to really talk about it and it might be frustrating. Which i understand. Must wait!...

ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts · 27/09/2018 07:31

Congratulations @BabyClicks!

Let's hope this is a lucky thread!

I took my last pill 8th August and I'm now CD20/5DPO. Though I didn't do any type of ovulation testing.

Claudia84 · 27/09/2018 07:52

Congratulations @babyclicks! Woohoo! How are you feeling?
Welcome to everyone else on the ttc journey.
Well I got my AF yesterday - 10dpo and I’m certain it is because I get ovulation pains.
So frustrating - I’ve been tracking my cycle on Flo for about 18 months just because I didn’t want to be caught out when I was due and it’s been 28 days like clockwork.. until ttc when it’s gone 26, 31, 25 - wtf?!!
Anyway onwards and upwards. Consoling myself with a big fat coffee this morning.
CD2 let’s go! Urgh Sad

AmyinNLondon · 27/09/2018 08:01

@40cmsanta - think will wait until Sunday. My cycle is never longer than 31 days so if it hasn’t happened then, something weird is going on... but I do feel a bit crampy so think it will just come today...

OP posts:
40cmsanta · 27/09/2018 08:33

@AmyinNLondon I'll keep everything crossed for you that it doesn't.

@Claudia84 so sorry. Its bloody frustrating isn't it. Hopefully next time is the one!

@ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts I haven't done any ovulation testing either, and got confused trying to track symptoms. I am just using Flo as my guide!! I think I may start monitoring BBT if I am out this cycle.

Claudia84 · 27/09/2018 08:57

@flapjackered sending you positive vibes. A bfn so soon doesn’t mean it won’t turn positive. Keep us updated and if it turns out to be a no at least you’ve got a holiday coming up to do lots of BD and it will be your month next 😉

AmyinNLondon · 27/09/2018 09:06

@claudia84 sending hugs. My only consolation if I do get AF is that I will spend at least three days back on wine and caffeine. You have to hold on to these small things!!!

FlapJackered · 27/09/2018 09:10

Thanks @Claudia84 I am pretty sure it's not happening this month as I am sure I would have seen a faint line at 14dpo if a bfp were possible? I just want Af to hurry up now!
Sorry to hear AF got you. What cycle are you on? My cycles are not regular so I know how frustrating it is when you can't predict the length! It must be more frustrating having had regular cycles before.

@AmyinNLondon Fingers crossed for you 🤞🏻

@40cmsanta it is so hard to wait when you know you could get a bfp though isn't it! Good luck.

KnitKitty · 27/09/2018 11:49

Hi ladies, may I join?

I'm 30, nearly 31.
TTC #1
Trying since December 2017.
MMC in March and ERPC; and two CPs since then (one end of May/early June and most recent at the beginning of this month).

Used OPKs for the first time this month and according to that I ovulated sometime between Monday and yesterday. DTD on Sunday but haven't been able to do it since as OH's parents are visiting, frustratingly! Just hoping some good swimmers have been relaxing in there waiting for O.

I think I'm 2DPO right now. The waiting begins!

So lovely to see some BFPs on here! Congratulations ladies!
Hopefully we'll get more soon. Smile

It feels like everyone I know who has children are a lot younger than me and got pregnant by accident. Hmm It can be really frustrating and hard not to get jealous sometimes.

AmyinNLondon · 27/09/2018 12:06

@KnitKitty - I hear that... it sounds like you’ve had a tough time. Fingers crossed for super strong swimmers!

OP posts:
40cmsanta · 27/09/2018 12:13

@KnitKitty sorry to hear about your MC's, that must be so incredibly awful. Flowers

Fingers crossed for the super swimmers this cycle!

I think that a bit of jealousy is only natural. And its good to talk about. Your not holding it against anyone, just feeling a desire for something that seems so far away sometimes!

40cmsanta · 28/09/2018 06:54

Me and DH agreed to POAS this morning before he goes away - 9dpo and 6 days till AF... BFN

As much as it is expected, those damned 3 minutes of waiting got me hoping again. Never mind. I feel like I have got it out of my system now and I'm happy to wait till he gets home to test again.

How's everyone doing?

Claudia84 · 28/09/2018 07:02

@Knitkitty I know what you mean about others - I just try to remember that you only really hear the ones that had it easy and they’re the ones that stick in your mind.
@flapjackered I’m only three months in and to be fair the first month wasn’t really tracking so I really should chill out!
Today I am grateful
being able to share a bottle of wine with DH last night
One more month of saving so that hopefully if it does happen I can take longer mat leave/ not totally broke.

Claudia84 · 28/09/2018 07:09

@40cmsanta sorry to hear that but yes good that it is out of your system before he goes. As it’s early there is still a chance.

AmyinNLondon · 28/09/2018 09:29

Ok - the suspense is now killing me. If no AF by end of work, am picking up a test and with POAS tomorrow am! Please send good thoughts my way! xxx

OP posts:
40cmsanta · 28/09/2018 12:16

@Claudia84 Thanks, and good work with the PMA – I am going to use that if/when AF comes – another month of saving, another month of getting my body prepared. Good way of looking at it.

@AmyinNLondon I’m excited for you! I’m going to keep everything crossed

MuddyElephant · 28/09/2018 21:07

I'm 10dpo and had some brown spotting today so think I'm out. Don't usually get any before AF but think she is rearing her head early as they have been v unusual lately Confused consoling myself with prosecco!

Good luck to those testing in the morning!

Syncope · 28/09/2018 22:15

Hello all, mind if I join? I'm 31, TTC#1. Very vague idea where I am in my cycle, as since coming off the pill they've been all over the place.

I suspect I'm somewhere between 2DPO and 9DPO but given how variable my cycles have been, I could be way out! Grin

Good luck to everyone testing soon! @AmyinNLondon hope the morning brings you good news.

MuddyElephant · 28/09/2018 22:16

Welcome @syncope

Syncope · 28/09/2018 22:18

Thanks @MuddyElephant. Sorry you think you're out this month - hope the prosecco is helping a bit!

AmyinNLondon · 29/09/2018 09:47

Hi all - quick update from me. POAS crazily early this morning and... BFP! Lines were really clear, which is great. Still early days but super excited.
