Hi all,

I’m 33, DP is 36 and in second month of ttc#1. (Am fairly new here so don’t know all the acronyms). I have pcos so realise that might be a challenge but have a fairly normal 28 day cycle. I have been totally taken in by all the conception gadgets and have bought a Clearblue fertility monitor and am waiting for the Ava bracelet to arrive... mental I know!!

I find the 20 somethings in other ttc threads a bit intimidatingly young, perky and fertile, but recognise those in the 35 or 40+ threads may have different experiences, so don’t want to be an under-age imposter!

Anyway, if anyone is in the same boat and wants to share their journey (fingers crossed ending up with a BFP!) then post below... xxx

Not my month AF arrived today!!!

So fed up of the disappointment each month I feel like giving up Sad

gebs · 10/09/2018 18:04

Ah that's rubbish maximoo, have some treats and fx for next month.

I'm trying not to imagine mines positive for a little longer, it's still very early days (period is due tomorrow) and my stomach has felt crampy/weird bloated feeling for the last few days. Hoping the cramps don't get worse and turn into af.

Maximoo06 · 10/09/2018 18:36

@gebs no I'm sure you will be fine keeping positive thoughts for you Grin

After ttc for 2 years each month is a blow

inkworks273 · 10/09/2018 18:44

Sorry to hear that @Maximoo06 Sending you positive thoughts.

@gebs I'm the same. I only tested yesterday morning and part of me wants to test again and the other part is too scared in case there's no line.

I've been feeling a bit crampy and also a bit nauseous. I'm also feeling really irritable. AF not due until Friday for me.

HoneyWings · 10/09/2018 19:00

Hello! Is it too late to join? It's my first time posting in this type of thread!

I'm 30, DH is 33. AF has just come so I guess it's on to cycle 3. I've been tracking with Flo for nearly a year and have 27-28 day cycles. Just about to purchase some OPKs, thermometer and preseed on amazon!

Have any of you found that ttc messes with any sort of exercise routine you have? During the 2ww, I'm too scared to do anything too ambitious then if there's any slight cramping/nausea I feel so fragile. Feel like I'm going to put on all the baby weight before there's even a bfp! Grin

Lorraine1985 · 10/09/2018 19:51

@maximoo06 I did not have any signs of endo. Same situation already knew the tubes weren't blocked too.

gebs · 10/09/2018 20:06

Honeywings - no, not too late, welcome! 😘

Maximoo - oh that's rubbish, make sure you have lots of treats and feel better, have you had any tests? I was diagnosed with hyperprotactmia when I was 20 which meant I wouldn't be fertile naturally, this is managed with tablets now but I wouldn't of known if I was ttc before finding out.

Ink - ah it makes me feel slightly better you are feeling the same! Hopefully all will work out for us both. Is it bad I keep looking in the bin in the bathroom to make sure the line is still there 😑 I'm going to test tomorrow on a cheapie and see if it's darker

Maximoo06 · 10/09/2018 22:11

@gebs yes had lots of tests found out I have pcos and will be having a laparoscopy next month to check things further

BabyClicks · 12/09/2018 04:33

@mrsof20118 I think we are CD twins! When are you looking to test? I think I am just coming into my FW now (CD12) and DH arrives home from a work trip tomorrow night. We are planning daily BD on CD 13, 14, 15 and 16. I normally O on CD 16, so we'll throw in another BD on CD 17 to make sure :) LP is normally 13 days so I'll test on 30 Sep if I can hold out that long.
Fingers crossed this is our month :)

mrsof20118 · 12/09/2018 06:34

@BabyClicks I guess in two weeks ish...depends how long I can hold out! That was good time with the work trip! We've bd every other day the past week so hoping that's enough!

mrsof20118 · 14/09/2018 17:49

Hope everyone's ok. Anyone due to test in the next few weeks?

gebs · 14/09/2018 18:05

Luckily my line seems to be getting darker, though my stomach has been cramping for nearly a week. Constantly thinking af is about to start 🙈 it's such a vulnerable time between getting a bfp to the first scan

AmyinNLondon · 14/09/2018 18:19

@mrsof20118 I am dreaded 2ww. Off on hols tomorrow so trying not to let it dominate every thought! Anyone else?? I just sense this month hasn’t been my month. Nothing to base it on, just gut instincts....

@gebs - that’s a decent line my love! Fingers crossed

@amyinnlondin have a fab holiday. Where are you off to?

@gebs long wait for the scan but that’s a clear line!

inkworks273 · 14/09/2018 21:11

I'm the same with the cramps @gebs A couple of times they've been pretty severe. Woke me up and I've had to get out of bed. Only lasts about 15 minutes before easing off. AF due today but no sign. The cramps make me feel like it's coming any minute too!!

This is a test I took yesterday (the bottom one). I'm 4 weeks exactly today.

gebs · 14/09/2018 21:31

Ink it's reassuring to hear you're the same! I woke up at 1.30am the other night with a really really bad stomach ache and just thought 'shit this is it' however got up, went to the loo and it went. My app says I'm 5+7, but I had irregular cycles and had a positive o test over the bank holiday weekend so more like 4 weeks too.. I'm very tempted to book an early scan in a few weeks just to reassure myself everything is okay.

Yas32 · 14/09/2018 21:36

Hi ladies

Just started the baby number 1
I'm 9 dpo with bfn however I have acid reflux, a cold sore throat and a fever along with a want to spicy food which I usually avoid Bec I can't handle it. I have severe head aches and I fell asleep at work on Wednesday midway through doing an interview with a claimant.

I'm so anxious- could I be pregnant?
It's so difficult trying to find someone yo talk to who understands
AF is due on Wednesday- hope she doesn't come
I want a baby so bad and so does my husband
We are 32 & 33 yrs old.

Yas32 · 14/09/2018 21:41

Tim but I'm gassy & have had abdominal pains & lower back pain

Fingers crossed for you all xXx

AmyinNLondon · 14/09/2018 22:49

@mrsof20118 of to sunny Spain! Was hoping it would be the fw but was not to be! Hey ho. Will enjoy some relaxation and if not to be this month, make sure body is chilled and ready for next time! @Yas I know it’s hard but you may want to try not to symptom spot. Almost anything can mke you believe you’re pregnant... even gas! 😂

DoveGreylove · 17/09/2018 08:16

Sadly I'm already out this month :( my period started 5 days early.

It's only our first cycle of TTC but it's hit me hard. Practically all of my friends got pregnant first time so this just makes me feel a bit shit. Plus my period has started 5 days early!? My luteal phase is too short. This journey is already bringing out the negative person in me which is never going to help me get that BFP.

Good luck to everyone else for this month my fingers are crossed for you xx

Claudia84 · 17/09/2018 09:02

Can I join? Just turned 34 and trying for the first time. Just heard 3rd friend is pregnant in so many months and I was surprised at how much of a blow it was. Didn’t think I’d be like this. Anyway - positive positive and what will be will be!
AF due 28th September.

Claudia84 · 17/09/2018 09:05

And @dovegreylove I totally get where you are coming from. Let’s stay positive together.
It’s totally normal for it to take more than one month reminds self

DoveGreylove · 17/09/2018 09:54

Hi @Claudia84 :)

I have been going through a similar thing this year so I really know how you feel. I have had 8 pregnancy announcements this year, a lot of whom are due next month. It's been really tough for me (had to wait to TTC because of visiting a zika country).

You are right we have to stay positive and I have to remind myself that it is totally normal for it to take up to a year to get pregnant. I think my sadness is more for the fear of the tough journey that I am about to embark upon rather than my period starting today. If you know what I mean? It just doesn't help when so many of my friends tell me "it'll happen soon, I got pregnant first cycle!" :(

Claudia84 · 17/09/2018 12:11

I feel exactly the same. It’s that I don’t want the next year to be dominated by charting!
I think we have the same friends lol!

lifechanginglemoncake · 17/09/2018 16:46

Can I join too? I’ve never joined a message board before but I’m going a bit nutty symptom spotting. Also I don’t know all the acronyms so sorry if I make mistakes.

I’m 33 and my husband is 36 and we are TTC #1.
We are on cycle 4 but only really tracking for the last two.
AF due on 19th Sept so I am well into the TWW and trying not to obsess (failing). Had a BFN last night but could still be early. I would usually expect some spotting in advance of AF by today but so far nothing.

I’ve been tracking my cycle using clue for a while and have a fairly consistent 27 day cycle and I also get ovulation pain every month so I havent bothered testing or charting ovulation so far as I was trying to keep it casual. If it doesn’t happen this month I might start being a bit more scientific.

Fingers crossed for you all.
