Hi lovelies!

A thread for the graduates of those who were waiting to TTC and are now actively trying, or very soon to be actively trying! Apologies if I've forgotten anyone or tagged the wrong people, please do join in or join later as necessary! Hoping we can continue to support and keep each other sane in this TTC madness!

@rollerskaterdata I've lost count of the amount of times I've tested now (thank goodness for Wilko 2 for £1 pregnancy tests) and all BFN. My temps are consistently low now as well. I've had two temp rises where I look like I've ovulated and then it's dropped but with no AF. It's been the weirdest cycle I've ever had.

rollerskaterdata · 06/11/2018 14:26

@NoseringGirl gah that must be so frustrating! I hope you get AF very soon, it's maddening when you want her to arrive so you can just get on to the next cycle!

Hi everyone - how are you all?
I haven't been on here for ages so going to have a proper read tonight -
I have another hospital appointment tomorrow and feel so scared -
DH is coming with me (although he's not keen on the idea) but he needs to get his test results too-
Catch up later :)

RandomUsernameHere · 07/11/2018 21:23

Good luck for tomorrow @Pinkroseuk
Let us know how it goes X

Pinkroseuk · 07/11/2018 21:27

Thanks @RandomUsernameHere really at a loose end as to what to do - nothing seems to be helping but will see what she says! X

NoseringGirl · 07/11/2018 21:45

Good luck with the appointment @Pinkroseuk hope they're helpful!

I got a letter from my GP today. I was impressed she took the time to write to me, I don’t think I’ve had that from a GP before! She said my blood test results were “reassuringly normal”.
She thinks my lack is period is a combination of my PCOS and the fact I’m still breastfeeding. I don’t really agree on the breastfeeding bit as my prolactin is low enough and my cycles were normal until this one but never mind!
She wants me to wait until Christmas (!) and then if I haven’t had AF by then, she wants to send me for a scan to rule out endometrial hypoplasia. Then she’ll induce a bleed but she has to make sure I’m definitely not pregnant before doing that.
So basically I’m in limbo until Christmas if AF doesn’t arrive! She said to book in a review then or I can contact her sooner if I want to discuss any of it.
I was a bit confused by the endometrial hypoplasia as (and I know I shouldn't google but I did) everything refers to HYPERplasia. Not sure if was a typo on her part but none of the hyperplasia descriptions sound like what I'm experiencing.

mussie · 07/11/2018 21:48

Was hanging out with a pregnant friend tonight, which I'd already steeled myself for. Then another friend announced her pregnancy. Just totally floored me after the mc last month. I know I need to be happy for everyone but honestly I just think no one should be allowed to get pregnant until I do! Have already been a bit of a dud at work this week so I think tomorrow will be more of the same 😭

Hoping for a more positive attitude once I've had some sleep.

RandomUsernameHere · 07/11/2018 21:59

Oh no @mussie poor you that must have been tough. I think it's an entirely normal reaction though.
@NoseringGirl that's good that you got a letter from the GP, she sounds very thorough. I'm no expert but I think hypoplasia and hyperplasia are the opposite of each other, does that explain why you don't have any of the hyperplasia symptoms?

NoseringGirl · 07/11/2018 22:08

@mussie I can totally understand that, especially when you've had such a tough time.

@RandomUsernameHere I assumed they were but my quick google didn't show anything for hypoplasia, I've set DH on the case of looking it up so I don't diagnose myself with anything ridiculous 🤣

NoseringGirl · 07/11/2018 22:08

Also, when I googled hypoplasia, google corrected it to hyperplasia for me!

PastaSauceHoarder · 07/11/2018 22:09

Hi everyone, can't believe I'm finally tiptoeing into this thread... Its nice to see so many familiar usernames though! Smile

Technically I'm STILL waiting to TTC as I don't ovulate until the 26th, but I hope you don't mind me wandering in - I've got my OPKs, my preseed and my folic acid... I'm ready to go! Wink

NoseringGirl · 07/11/2018 22:19

Good to see you here @PastaSauceHoarder hopefully it's a short stay on the conception board!

RandomUsernameHere · 07/11/2018 22:24

Welcome @PastaSauceHoarder wishing you lots of luck
@NoseringGirl how strange, must be that hypoplasia is much less common than hyper or something. Hope you get some answers soon.

PastaSauceHoarder · 07/11/2018 23:08

Thank you both!! Smile

mussie · 08/11/2018 09:43

@NoseringGirl @RandomUsernameHere endometrial hypoplasia would be an abnormally thin endometrium, and hyperplasia would be abnormally thick. Hyperplasia must be more common as pp said, if google thinks that's what you mean. I suppose a very thin uterine lining would explain no periods? Christmas does seem like an awfully long wait though! Hopefully AF arrives way before that and makes all the worrying unnecessary.

mussie · 08/11/2018 09:45

And thanks for the kind thoughts, both. A night's sleep has improved things. I'm just trying not to think about it now. Will be more difficult once pictures start getting posted everywhere, but hopefully I'll be pregnant soon enough and then I won't mind!

rollerskaterdata · 08/11/2018 11:17

@NoseringGirl I don't think my GP has ever written to me so it's nice that you're took the time! Bit annoying about the potential typo though. I hope yours and DH's digging bring up some answers! And that AF arrives way before Christmas anyway!

@mussie it's totally understandable, don't feel bad. If I'm honest, I'm not sure it ever really stops. I'm 11 weeks tomorrow and jealous of every pregnant woman already out of her first trimester who can tell the world and wear cute maternity clothes. I'm just fat and sick and tired. Once that passes I'll probably be jealous of everyone who is 24 weeks plus and who's baby could now survive outside the womb because mine can't yet. Ridiculous I know. But this is human nature and it's so easy to want what you don't yet have and envy those that do. I hope, and I'm sure, it'll be your turn again soon xx

Hi everyone. How are you all doing?

I gave in and downloaded the Flo app and found a thermometer on Amazon to buy 🙈 so much for seeing how it goes.

On another note, my weight is going up and up at the moment, really need to get it under control.

Pinkroseuk · 12/11/2018 13:38

Hi @NeverHadANickname can I ask which thermometer you bought? I'm looking to get one as need to use something to track and see if I'm ovulating.

On a massive diet here to loose 20kg by March- this mornings weight in lost 1.6kg so really pleased to have achieved this in a week and not started the increased exercise yet!

How's everyone else getting on? Smile

NoseringGirl · 12/11/2018 15:19

Well done on the weight loss @Pinkroseuk I've put on a load on weight during this ridiculous cycle and am going to start trying to shift it again.

Hope the temping goes well @NeverHadANickname I find it helpful seeing when I've ovulated and when I haven't.

I've had some very slight spotting the last few days but it hasn't progressed into anything. It does make me think there's an issue with my uterine lining as the GP said. Not sure what I can do about it though!

NeverHadANickname · 12/11/2018 15:27

@Pinkroseuk I have ordered this www.amazon.com/Thermometer-Ovulation-Perfect-Pregnant-Naturally/dp/B07GBTBMM4/ref=asc_df_B07GBTBMM4/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=242088625578&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=12513505375467374646&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9006865&hvtargid=pla-525006295905&psc=1

I'm assuming most would work as long as it is to 2 decimal places? Whi knows 🤣 well done on your weight loss, that's great!

@NoseringGirl I wonder if the bleeding will progress at all from now? Suppose it is something. Frustrating you need to wait until Christmas for further investigation though. It isn't that far away but I know it'll feel like it is.

Pinkroseuk · 13/11/2018 13:43

Thankyou @NoseringGirl and @NeverHadANickname.
I will take a look at that thermometer.

I know how painful it is @NoseringGirl - still waiting for AF here but have been given more tables to force it on- have to have tests done on specific dates of this month.
Has anyone ever had a HSG?! Thanks

NoseringGirl · 14/11/2018 10:46

@Pinkroseuk glad they're running more tests for you! I've not had an HSG, I've seen it talked about a lot on these boards though so hopefully lots of info for you there!

I've had more bleeding, probably light flow so am counting it as a new cycle and hoping for the best. When this has happened before though, the bleeding has gone on for a while so preparing myself for that just in case.

NeverHadANickname · 16/11/2018 18:48

I have a question if anyone can help? I got some ovulation test strips and used then the last 2 nights. It says to use them between 8am and 10pm, is that right? I thought its be like a pregnancy test and you'd need to do it first thing for concentration? Anyway, I did them at 6pm, the one last night is lighter than the one the previous night. Would that mean I am going away from ovulation? Or can it be random? Today is day 13 of my cycle and it's usually around 28/29 days when playing ball so app is saying I should ovulate tomorrow but maybe I ovulate early? Honestly this is just all so confusing. I thought I knew pretty much everything there is to know about pregnancy and getting pregnant (well, as much as you can without actually having done it) from reading for years but it's hard when you apply it all to real life and yourself. Sorry for all of the questions.

mussie · 16/11/2018 19:42

@NeverHadANickname from my experience with OPKs, which is only a few cycles, they do tend to get darker until you get a positive, and then tail off again. However, I think weaker negatives can be affected by dilution and things - the past few days I've had negatives in a bit of a random order. But once they get stronger it's a bit more predictable.

Yep they do say not to do them with FMU - something like LH is always highest during the day so you're unlikely to catch the surge if you only test with your overnight pee. If I were you I would keep testing for another few days, going to two or three times a day at the time you think ovulation is most likely, to make sure you don't miss it.

I am meant to be ovulating tomorrow, but just got a negative OPK, and am now heading off on holiday without DH for a week 🙈 so I don't think I have much chance this month!
