A thread for the graduates of those who were waiting to TTC and are now actively trying, or very soon to be actively trying! Thanks @mussie that all makes sense. Maybe I ovulate earlier than 'normal' then. I did drink more yesterday.

Aw that's rubbish with timing. You never know though, I'm sure sex anyway wouldn't hurt 😁

I don't think my posts are posting that have pictures! So annoying. If I have posted two pictures I apologise. The lines are nearly the same colour tonight which surprised me. I'll test again in the morning to see how they look.

@NeverHadANickname no pictures have appeared! But that sounds great, you'll probably get a positive very soon. I've just had a positive OPK! So we DTD yesterday, ovulating probably tomorrow (will be checking BBT to confirm - and setting my alarm for 6.30am to make sure it's accurate 😅) so I maybe have a chance. Maybe! 🤦🏼‍♀️ more likely than not I'll be into December, but actually more time TTC is no bad thing in terms of both my emotional and financial readiness, so I'm trying to see lots of silver linings. Now it's just the waiting game...

I did another ovulation test this morning and it was back to pale again. I wish I could post the picture to see what people think. It wasn't quite as dark as the control but very close.

We have been house hunting today and there are two we like and I am getting very emotional about it haha, not like me. Every time I try to decide between the two I feel like crying.

@NeverHadANickname back to pale? Maybe you have missed ovulation then, but mornings really aren't the best for getting reliable results 😂 and house hunting is so emotional, we moved a few years ago and I still remember how stressful it was to try and pick the PERFECT home, it was a lot of pressure. Hope you find somewhere that feels right soon!

I very rarely get completely positive ovulation tests on those strips! LH is meant to rise during the day but I always get darkest first thing in the morning. I think my body is weird! I do them multiple times a day as well. I've seen people who get blazing positives where the control line goes darker than the test line. I've had it around the same darkness a handful of times even when I've ovulated afterwards. Never darker though. So for me personally, if it goes nearly positive and starts fading I count it (I temp as well though so confirm ovulation with that).
These tests can be so frustrating!

Thank you both. It is nice to be able to talk about these things. I have been temping the last few days too. Not sure how good my thermometer is but I figured I'd keep it up and see what comes of it. It might show some sort of pattern. Who knows.

Ok tonight's is definitely as dark, if not a bit darker. Also have felt very sick (not normal for me) and have javelin arse and cramping (normal for me when I used to ovulate pre pill) so pretty sure this is it! Just told my other half we legally have to DTD again tonight (have been every day anyway for the last 3) so fingers crossed. I'll stop with all of the obsessing now at least until my period is due 😁 thanks for listening and answering my questions.

Good to see you here @cupcakesandglitter! And thanks @NeverHadANickname, it's mostly travelling around the country and visiting all the family, so not very exotic but very relaxing nonetheless ☺️

the cycle where I got my BFP, I realised I had no alcohol at all in the TWW - wondering this time whether to try and repeat that for best chance at another BFP, or whether that is a waste of effort 😂 especially being on holiday! Hmmm 🤔

I have been having no alcohol except when I'm on my period but I think that would be tested for me if I was away on holiday. I suppose it is what you feel most strongly about, would you miss the alcohol a lot? I'll probably drink around Christmas so we have to weight it all up I think.

@NeverHadANickname I suppose I wouldn't miss it, but it would be very conspicuous. My family are drinkers. Not sure they'll believe me if I say 'I just feel like a cup of tea instead' for too many days in a row. Then again they know about the miscarriage so hopefully they would understand. Maybe I'll try out saying no and see how far I get.

@NeverHadANickname javelin arse 😂😂😂 is that like a sharp pain? I get that when I ovulate! I thought it was just me! I also had pain like that in labour with DS1.

@mussie what do you normally drink? If you'd have a spirit and mixer then maybe accept the first one but keep topping it up yourself with pop? Or just sip at the same glass of wine or beer all night. Hope you have a great holiday!

@mussie I understand that. At Halloween I want drinking (2ww) and I was at a party with my inlaws. When we got home I said everyone will assume I'm pregnant. Most of them (which means all of them will know) know we want a baby so guaranteed there will have been at least a conversation when we weren't there.

@NoseringGirl yes it is 😂 I saw it called that on here and instantly knew what they meant, describes it perfectly. I told my other half I had other ovulation symptoms last night and he asked what so I said javelin arse. He asked what it was and I said exactly what it sounds like 🤣

@NoseringGirl I'm usually a beer drinker. The shopping just arrived and they've ordered me a 12 pack of my favourite beers 😳 so now I'll feel really rude if I don't. I think eking one out over the evening is the best idea. I did have drinks the day I ovulated last time, so today is probably fine. I wonder if it's more implantation it affects? In which case I'd be fine for potentially a few days. I might just try and catch my step mum for a private word at some point. Don't really want to say the word 'ovulation' to my DF 😂

@mussie to be honest I didn't drink at all for ages when we were TTC DS1 then I started having some now and again after it was taking ages. I didn't give up at all when TTC DS2 and was out drinking cocktails a few days before finding out I was pregnant (so around the time of implantation). So for me personally it didn't really make a difference!

Hey ladies, just catching up and thought I'd chip in re alcohol during the tww. With DS1 I didn't even know I was pregnant so was drinking as normal up until I got my BFP. This time however, month one of TTC I was drinking during tww as I was on holiday, no BFP. Second month I gave it up completely during the tww and got my BFP. No idea at all if they're related, especially as alcohol didn't affect my conception with DS1 at all!

@NeverHadANickname I was too paranoid about reading the cheapy OPKs incorrectly that I ended up splurging on the expensive clearblue digital ones from the get go. Worked first month I used them though! Have you tried those?

I have my 12 (well I think I'll be 13) week scan on Wednesday this coming week and I'm really nervous! 😬 just want to get it over with tbh!

@rollerskaterdata @NoseringGirl today's family lunch was alright actually, my DB was hungover so not drinking anyway, I poured myself a soft drink before anyone had a chance to offer me anything and then moved straight onto a cuppa. Sorted. Only a few more days to go 😂 It probably doesn't make a difference but makes me feel like I'm doing something.

So exciting for you @rollerskaterdata. Did you have an early private scan, or will this be the first one for you?

@mussie good dodge skilfully done! When are you testing? I've had a few early scans to be honest 😂 for some reason I've been super nervous this time round! All have been fine but for some reason until I have this NHS one I don't think I'll be able to relax! X

@rollerskaterdata I don't rate my chances this month so I think I'll save the money at wait to test until 15dpo. So 15 days to go 😂 aww I'm so glad your early scans have been good. I'm sure everything will be great at the NHS one then ☺️
