Hi lovelies!

A thread for the graduates of those who were waiting to TTC and are now actively trying, or very soon to be actively trying! Apologies if I've forgotten anyone or tagged the wrong people, please do join in or join later as necessary! Hoping we can continue to support and keep each other sane in this TTC madness!

@rollerskaterdata we have spaced things out to a certain extent but nothing major. Just thinking we are telling my mum next weekend (9 days to wait), then our scan and first midwife appointment. It'll be easier towards the end of April and then hopefully my 12w scan will be early May. So yes lots going on but sadly it's almost all baby related. My early scan is the big thing for me. You are all keeping me going though. I'm on other threads but this one is my favourite.

Happy 30 weeks! You're on the home stretch now.

I read they talk to you about breastfeeding and giving birth at your first midwife appointment. Is that not really early?

I might have ordered one already Blush I won't use it until I'm 12 weeks as I worry someone I know will see me but I like to get things done. I'm struggling with nausea on the tube now but find it hard as I can't ask/don't look like I need to sit down! It does worry me how I'll manage the commute when I get to the later stages but I will have to figure that out when I get there.

@Jelliestogether I hope so! Good luck for your 20 week scan! I think I read you seem to see someone at least every 4/5 weeks in your first pregnancy so that might help. Did you hear back from the midwife?

I know it only applies to a couple of appointments but how did you get time off work? I don't want to tell people but I'm not sure how best to do it.

NeverHadANickname · 21/03/2019 17:32

@dottydally middle step son knows and is happy for us, he knew we were trying anyway worst kept secret ever youngest (20) will be told on Saturday. He is pretty relaxed about stuff and has been really supportive so I'm sure he'll be fine but is used to being the youngest iyswim. He is an adult now so I'm sure all fine. Oldest I'm sure will also be fine but is closer with DH's ex so might be worried what she will think. If anyone tells her it'll be him, the others won't want 101 questions off her.

Had more blood taken today for the genetic screening. Results will be available online apparently in 72 hours. If we were finding out the sex that would be available too from blood but we don't want to know.

mussie · 21/03/2019 18:12

@dottydally they do talk about those things at booking, in my area anyway. The 'where' is so you can be booked under the right area - you can change your mind later on in pregnancy once you've had time to think about it. And I do wish breastfeeding was left until after the 20w scan at least - but I think the idea is to speak to people BEFORE they decide one way or the other. Not sure whether that actually works or not, but hey ho.

This is my favourite thread too ☺️ I feel like we need a list of who is due when though, I'm getting muddled 😂

cupcakesandglitter · 21/03/2019 21:41

Sorry I've not been saying anything guys, unfortunately can't relate to most of it 🙈 fx I'll get there soon 🐢 x

Nattx · 22/03/2019 02:14

Hi 😀
😊

Jumping on the bus!

I'm 24
TTC #1
CD 4
Cycle 1 (since ovarian drilling)
AF/BFP due 16th April.

dottydally · 22/03/2019 07:00

@NeverHadANickname I didn't realise you had step children almost the same age as me! I'm excited for you telling everyone though. What's your DH's relationship like with his ex?

Good luck on the screening!

@mussie sounds like it could be an interesting appointment then. I think it'll finally allow me to be excited once I've had that and my early scan. At the minute I feel a bit like I could be some kind of fraud even though I've had 5 positive tests.

@cupcakesandglitter sorry! You will be joining before you know it!

@NeverHadANickname @rollerskaterdata @mussie do you think we should hop over to another thread? I want to pop back but I feel like we are derailing this one as we aren't ttc now

Welcome @Nattx!

Jelliestogether · 22/03/2019 08:19

@cupcakesandglitter you'll get there!!

@@dottydally maybe a separate thread is a great idea

rollerskaterdata · 22/03/2019 10:45

@Jelliestogether I've experienced pain and a achiness in my legs due to pelvic pain. It sounds like your pins/needles might be for the same reason as the sensation can be felt in different ways. Has your midwife got back to you yet? I wouldn't worry 😊 also eeeek at 20 week scan in a few days, hope it goes well! I have a 4D one tomorrow and I'm super excited!

@dottydally this thread is my fave too! I think it helps we've all been talking to each other for around a year now! (can you believe it?!). Also I don't remember being talked to about those things at my first appointment but maybe it varies by area? I don't think my midwife will talk to me about it until my 34/36 week appointments. And I ordered mine before 12 weeks too (also super organised) but didn't use it until after I had the scan. Are you able to work from home a few days a week? I did and it made a huge difference to my fear over commuting with nausea as I didn't have to get out of bed!

rollerskaterdata · 22/03/2019 10:47

Happy to have a new thread if people would prefer? What should we call it?

OP posts:
Jelliestogether · 22/03/2019 13:42

@rollerskaterdata hopefully that's all it is. I was referred to a&e so currently there waiting for them to rule out DVT

NeverHadANickname · 22/03/2019 14:01

@dottydally the oldest is nearly as old as me! He is 28 and I am 32. I don't feel like a step parent because they are adults. Oldest lives in a different state and youngest is away at university. See the middle one more but it is more a friendly relationship than a parent one. Although it did feel a bit weird (but also lovely) when the middle one (25) introduced me when we all went out at new year to his friends as his Mom. Was easier than saying step and thankfully I did get some second glances!

If we have a new thread it should be something about the graduates of the graduates! I'm sorry if we are putting people that are still TTC off posting.

@cupcakesandglitter fingers crossed you get there soon. Please don't feel like you can't post, we have all been where you are.

RandomUsernameHere · 22/03/2019 14:10

Oh no @Jelliestogether hope you're ok, let us know how you get on x

cupcakesandglitter · 22/03/2019 14:11

Thanks lovelies, @NeverHadANickname thankyou, I know 😊❤️ I'm CD23 today, which is the day AF turned up last month. Luckily no sign of AF today, but I'm happy to place bets on when it'll turn up. This week? Next week? Who knows 😂😂😂

cupcakesandglitter · 22/03/2019 14:12

Oh and none of you are putting me off don't worry 😂😂😂

mussie · 22/03/2019 15:06

Nooooo don't go to a separate thread or you'll be your own little pregnancy club and us TTCers will feel REALLY left behind! Everyone stay, you can answer questions for us TTCers in your great sage wisdom of pregnancy 😁 besides we're all pals now so I will take it personally if you guys up and leave.

I will post about how I am still, technically, pregnant 🙄 had a positive FRER this morning, was really hoping for it to be back to 0 by now. Got a blood test in the morning so will know some numbers for sure.

I am drinking my way through every beer/glass of wine offered to me 😁 looking forward to maybe going to the Carlsberg brewery when on holiday in Copenhagen next month? Anyone got any recommendations for Copenhagen?

Otherwise I am tootling along as usual. Knackered at work. Got family coming to visit this weekend so I am in two minds whether to go for a nap or clean the house 🤔

cupcakesandglitter · 22/03/2019 15:13

Sorry you're still getting positive @mussie - glad you're drinking everything though, I'm jealous 😂😁 not been to Copenhagen so can't say, but have the best time!! Also I second you, don't want everyone to leave, please all stay!!! We've all been together right from the start xx

NeverHadANickname · 22/03/2019 15:20

Well its nice to feel wanted. To be honest, when we are all chatting I often forget who is TTC or where people are in their pregnancies, I just like popping back here to talk moan and like others favour this thread and hearing how people are doing.

Definitely the nap @mussie

dottydally · 22/03/2019 15:37

Happy to stay as long as you are all happy with that! I just worried we were taking over with pregnancy chat.

I hope you will all get some laughter out of the fact I practically gagged at my desk when one of my colleagues came to speak to me. They are not known for smelling the sweetest but I usually grin and bear it. Not today, I was willing them to leave so I could dash to the toilet. It wasn't pretty.

@rollerskaterdata I'm starting to think we are the same person I can't believe it's been over a year! I'm not concerned as I think I already know roughly what I want not over invested at all. I know it will change in time but I know what I want at this point. All second time parents are probably laughing at me here as I know nothing goes to plan with these things!

I could but I'd have to tell them why if I wanted to do more than a day or so a week which I don't want to do before my 12w scan. I can get away with one (two on odd weeks) without raising eyebrows but 3 would be too much. I'm terrified of being sick on the tube and the embarrassment of it all.

@Jelliestogether how is it going?

@NeverHadANickname Is your DH older than you then? Sometimes it's nicer if you are not a parent figure. It's easier to get on that way! I love that he introduced you as his Mom though.

@cupcakesandglitter I'll place my bets on the 29th of March. Hopefully a BFP!

@mussie we would hate to personally offend you. Looks like we are staying Grinhow positive was it? Is it getting faint?

Yes to wine and beer! And to a nap. . .

rollerskaterdata · 22/03/2019 16:11

@Jelliestogether I hope it doesn't end up being that and it's nothing serious! Let us know how you get on x

@NeverHadANickname love that, graduates of the graduates! Although I have to admit I'm happy the way things are if everyone else is? We're like our own little club and I don't want to split!

@mussie I worried a bit about banging on about pregnancy when some are still TTC but honestly if you're happy for us to stay I'm more than happy to! Yaye 😊 oh and nap, always! 😁

@dottydally oh poor you, smells are really getting to you aren't they?! And the nausea. Virtual hug. If it's any consolation mine has returned, although not as bad, this trimester. I think because I'm huge and my uterus is pressing up against my stomach and threatening everything I eat back upwards again. I really should stop complaining! It's hard not to though 😩

I get you want to maintain secrecy, makes total sense. Would you consider telling your manager though and swearing them to secrecy so you could do a few more days at home? I did and it really helped

mussie · 22/03/2019 17:53

@NeverHadANickname @dottydally @rollerskaterdata I went for the nap, you'll all be pleased to hear! Feeling very refreshed. And I've been using ICs mostly, and two days ago the positive was almost too faint to see, so I thought I'd plump for a FRER today. Came up with quite an obvious line 🙄 not a strong line or anything, fairly faint, but pretty clear, didn't have to hold it up to the light or squint or anything! I know logically that if it's so small that only a FRER can pick it up then that's good news, but I would rather just get a negative!

Off out for a sunset walk. It's much chillier than i expected 🥶

Waiting to TTC Graduates Thread
NeverHadANickname · 22/03/2019 18:01

@dottydally he is 16 years older than me. At the time neither of us wanted a relationship. We got talking on an online game, same as we did with dozens of other people, but were drawn to each other. We both did a lot of soul searching, I'd have to move countries and didnt really want to get married again but he did, I couldn't see my life without children but he (obviously) felt like he had done having kids a long time ago. Now I have moved countries and we are married and he is over the moon we are expecting and was fully on board with ttc. Been together nearly 2 years now but I only moved at the start of October 😊

I'm starting to worry about my blood test results now, obviously for if there is anything wrong but also our form requesting the tests was a bit funny in the section for if we wanted to find out the sex. The was a hand drawn arrow near the box. I mentioned it when I went to have the blood taken and she said she'd write a note saying we don't want to find out but i'm worried it'll be there when we log on. Just another thing in the list of worries, was worried for scan, now test results, then next scan. Even at the scan I could only say I was happy that it was there at that point, anything can have happened since then. I'm honestly usually so relaxed and a non worrier. I suppose it is just seeing on here and real life all that can go wrong at every single stage.

NeverHadANickname · 22/03/2019 18:03

@mussie glad you had a nap, we all need them sometimes. That photo is gorgeous. Every time I feel like its warming up here it cools down again.

dottydally · 22/03/2019 21:15

@mussie that looks beautiful! You'll be getting a BFN before you know it. I hadn't realised how much difference there was between ICs and FRERs until I got the faintest off positives on an IC but a decent FRER!

@NeverHadANickname you find the best people when you aren't looking. It's always the way and I'm so happy it worked out for you!

I think MN has its advantages but it's made me quite anxious as every other thread seems to be about bleeding or miscarriage. I've started to make myself not open them and hide them instead or I will be a nervous wreck. I'm sure the nurse will have listened to you! Sending hugs.

I also have something of a POAS addiction. It started as I wanted to get my 3+ on a digital but my local shop didn't sell them. I have 2 FRERs left which I would hate to waste so might use one tomorrow. Then I went for a wee earlier and saw my cheapies and here I am. 6 weeks pregnant and still marvelling over two lines on a test. They are the most beautiful lines I've ever seen cringe. Hoping for the same on a FRER tomorrow and I'll get a CB whilst out. Then I'm stepping away from them I promise!

cupcakesandglitter · 23/03/2019 09:48

@rollerskaterdata that's my sisters birthday, here's to hoping 😂😂 x

@mussie lovely view!! Glad the IC only showed a cheap line, FRER will have nothing soon hopefully x

Next door neighbours have bloody woken me up to the sound of drilling 😡 just wanted a nice lie in ffs 😂 x

NeverHadANickname · 24/03/2019 02:33

Went out tonight with the youngest step son, the middle one and his girlfriend, what a great night! We decided to get a kids book called 'I am a big brother' for the youngest (20) because he has never been a big brother before and thought it'd be a laugh. We wrapped it up for him and we all joked about it being a childrens book as he opened it then he turned it over and read out loud 'I am a big bro-oh shit!' Then there were hugs and congratulations 😍 it was so lovely. I have been smiling all night.
