Hi lovelies!

A thread for the graduates of those who were waiting to TTC and are now actively trying, or very soon to be actively trying! Apologies if I've forgotten anyone or tagged the wrong people, please do join in or join later as necessary! Hoping we can continue to support and keep each other sane in this TTC madness!

Right! I'm back now - I've had enough of not really doing anything, so I'm going to try and SMEP/something similar as soon as.. we're officially TTC again 😊😊 hopefully I'll be joining you with your BFPs soon xx

Pinkroseuk · 11/03/2019 21:07

Good to see you back @cupcakesandglitter :) we have had a very long day - been up since 2.30am to take hubby to work so not stuck to the diet and opted for picking up a pizza to eat when we got in and bed (yes I ate the pizza in bed!) Catch up tomorrow with all on mumsnet :)

NoseringGirl · 11/03/2019 21:22

@Pinkroseuk pizza in bed is one of my favourite things! I call it a bed picnic Blush

Hey @cupcakesandglitter just spoke to you on another thread so won't repeat it all Grin

CD41 here. Convinced AF was coming as really bad cramps for 2 days but nothing yet. My body does love to mess with me.

rollerskaterdata · 11/03/2019 21:23

@dottydally people really do ask the strangest questions and you wonder where they get the balls from 😂

@cupcakesandglitter welcome back! Hope your journey is short. We tried SMEP - effective but knackering!

@Pinkroseuk not gonna lie that sounds good. I eat chocolate in bed all the time sometimes Blush

cupcakesandglitter · 11/03/2019 21:37

Thanks @Pinkroseuk - super jealous of your pizza in bed!! Enjoy!! X

@NoseringGirl just replied on the other one 😂 x

Thanks @rollerskaterdata I'm hoping it works for us, but I'm super (sort of) chilled about it. I'm trying to focus on not having a time limit - we're cycle 8 so a few more until I can go back to the docs xx

mussie · 11/03/2019 22:08

Pizza in bed?! Oh my word I had never even thought of that. My DH thinks eating in bed is gross. I have persuaded him that it should be our celebration after a 12 week scan, when we eventually get to one. So he has reluctantly agreed. Mate I am so excited for my takeaway pizza in bed now 😂 as if a 12 week scan wouldn't be exciting enough!

@cupcakesandglitter welcome back! Another person to live through vicariously! Best of luck, I look forward to following along with you all. To think, @rollerskaterdata, you'll have a baby born by the time I start TTC again! Hopefully I'm pregnant by the time your baby is born @dottydally 😂

cupcakesandglitter · 11/03/2019 22:51

@mussie 😂😂 that's brilliant, glad you've persuaded him!! I'm with you, hopefully we've got our BFPs by then 😂 x

Pinkroseuk · 12/03/2019 06:48

I'm glad we're not the only ones to occasionally eat in bed lol! We were both just so shattered couldn't stay awake any longer!!
Glad you managed to persuade your OH @mussie! Xx

dottydally · 12/03/2019 08:01

Welcome back @cupcakesandglitter!

@Pinkroseuk @NoseringGirl no no! No food in bed! The crumbs, shudders. Chocolate is slightly better as it doesn't leave hard crumbs but on the whole we I don't eat in bed. DP does when I'm at work and I pretend I don't know.

@rollerskaterdata I'm preparing myself for them. I want to book an early scan for the 30th but I'll only be 7 weeks by then. Am I likely to hear a heartbeat? I know it'll be a blob but I feel like I need confirmation something is in there 4 positive tests are not enough.

@mussie You'll be pregnant well before that lovely!

Can I still stick around? I know I'm not ttc now but this is my home!

mussie · 12/03/2019 08:36

@dottydally oh do stick around! This isn't really a TTC thread, more of a general club 😁 and yes, you should be able to see a heartbeat at 7 weeks - usually they say you might not, but most of the time that's because your dates are wrong and it's too early. If you're sure when you ovulated, then 4-5 weeks post ovulation you should see a heartbeat ☺️

dottydally · 12/03/2019 16:36

@mussie thank you! I've talked to myself a little more rationally this morning and decided to not have an early scan until at least 8/9 weeks to save unnecessary worry. I also don't know when I ovulated!

However, the tiredness. Dear god. How am I going to make it through a night out, pretending to drink, when I can't keep my eyes open at 4:30pm?

Jelliestogether · 12/03/2019 16:55

@dottydally congratulations!!! Totally know what you mean about the tiredness, it shall pass!
@cupcakesandglitter welcome back! Fingers crossed it'll happen in no time for you!
@pinkroseuk sorry to hear they feel the only option is IVF. It's definitely worth looking into though, then you can make a decision based on all the proper information from medical professionals rather than second hand information from others (and potentially outdated). You have done amazing with your weightloss!! We are all here willing you on! Your trip to Italy sounds great! Will be so nice to have little plans and goals inbetween the big goal!

To those who asked, I'm doing good thanks, now over 17 weeks and feeling more like myself again now! Feeling baby move most days, DH can't wait til he can feel it too. We are have now told most our friends and all our family. We have also brought the car seat and pushchair as it was such a good deal, but now won't be buying anything else until after the 20 week scan! Hearing the heartbeat for the first time at 16 weeks was amazing!

@rollerskatadata can't believe your near the end already!!

rollerskaterdata · 12/03/2019 17:35

@dottydally as @mussie says 7 weeks you should see/hear a heartbeat, I say go for it but understand if you want to wait a little longer. I wish I could say the tiredness gets better, it's gets worse! I'm 29 weeks on Thursday and literally going up and down the stairs is a hardship, DH holds me by the arse and pushes me up so I don't have to use my legs so much 😂 the first 12 weeks are brutal though, virtual hand holding x

And we're not just a TTC thread so deffo stick around!

@mussie LOVE the pizza in bed celebration! And you're right I can't believe it, I may well have a baby by then! Although she's due end of May so if she's late she may end up being a June baby!

@Jelliestogether Wow time flies! Will you find out the sex?

OP posts:
Jelliestogether · 13/03/2019 18:46

@rollerskaterdata we are torn whether to find out or not. He wants to but I don't. Although I will probably let him find out as it's something he really wants. Yeah it's gone really quickly! I'm sure between 20 weeks and term won't go quite as quickly!

rollerskaterdata · 13/03/2019 22:13

@Jelliestogether we had the same thing but the other way round. In the end we found out though and didn't regret it at all. And I hate to say it but in my experience it doesn't 😂 but then again my whole pregnancy has dragged in my eyes so I'm probably not the best judge! When is your scan?

OP posts:
dottydally · 14/03/2019 11:23

Thank you @Jelliestogether! I can't believe you're closing in on the 20 week mark. Do you think you could manage if he knew but you didn't? I know a couple who did this as he wanted to know but she didn't! My DP isn't worried either way but I don't want to know so I don't think we will!

@rollerskaterdata I've booked an early scan but for either 8+3 or 8+6 (not sure which app is right!) which will hopefully be a better time. I know it's a long way off but I'll feel better when I can feel the baby move. I'm so paranoid something will go wrong at this stage!

NeverHadANickname · 14/03/2019 13:28

So it is scan day for me today at 11 weeks, I'm so nervous! DH is really excited and trying to keep me positive but it is hard. I know a lot of people feel like this and there is nothing I can do.

dottydally · 14/03/2019 14:17

@NeverHadANickname good luck!

NeverHadANickname · 14/03/2019 14:20

Thanks @dottydally how are you doing?

dottydally · 14/03/2019 14:35

@NeverHadANickname I'm ok thank you. Tired and sore boobs but no other symptoms! I'm not saying I want to be sick but I think I'd find it reassuring. Still, I'm just shy of 5 weeks so still early and I read a lot of symptoms don't hit until 6 weeks.

I've also booked an early scan for just under 4 weeks time which is easing my anxiety a bit. It's also the same day as my booking appointment! I hear they are very long appointments. . .

What time is your scan?

RandomUsernameHere · 14/03/2019 14:54

Good luck for today @NeverHadANickname let us know how it goes!x

Jelliestogether · 14/03/2019 15:06

@rollerskaterdata no way could I not know and he know!! I would be forever trying to work it out! Well fingers crossed my last 20 week's or so doesn't drag! So pleased it's not dragged for me so far. I've got two 20 week scans (normal one and I've booked a specialist heart scan at 20 weeks) at end of March and beginning of April!

Good luck @NeverHadANickname I was also nervous before my 12 week scan, I think it's totally normal!

NeverHadANickname · 14/03/2019 15:41

Thanks everyone.

@dottydally I only had sore boobs and a bit of period type pain at week 5, good job because we had family visiting. Kicked off from week 6 for me.

Scan is 6pm UK time then appointment with obstetrician after. Just having some toast and sorting some things.

dottydally · 14/03/2019 16:20

@Jelliestogether well I wouldn't manage it but each to their own!

@NeverHadANickname I hope that's the case for me too. I'm not saying I want anything extreme but just a little reminder things are ok.

6pm will be around soon! Is it the equivalent of s booking appointment or have you had that already?

rollerskaterdata · 14/03/2019 17:03

@dottydally that's a good time for a scan, I'm sure all will be well! Odds are in your favour. I hate to say it but for me, feeling baby move only brings some relief because you then worry if they're moving enough or not!

@Jelliestogether totally agree! That's why we both either needed to know or not know lol! I hope the time continues going quickly for you and your scans go well. Do you mind me asking what the specialist heart scan is for?

@NeverHadANickname hope all is well for you, let us know how you get on!
