Hi lovelies!

A thread for the graduates of those who were waiting to TTC and are now actively trying, or very soon to be actively trying! Apologies if I've forgotten anyone or tagged the wrong people, please do join in or join later as necessary! Hoping we can continue to support and keep each other sane in this TTC madness!

@mussie thanks! I'm excited to have a plan in place!

@Pinkroseuk how are you feeling about IVF? You're doing so well with your weight loss, I'm sure you'll be down below 30 in no time.

Pinkroseuk · 07/03/2019 19:08

@NoseringGirl I'm not that keen on it - though need to do some reading up- DH I think is more keen.
I was adopted by my parents as my parents had so many rounds of failed IVF so maybe I see more of the negative side :/

NoseringGirl · 07/03/2019 20:36

@Pinkroseuk I can see how that would impact on how you feel about it. Hopefully you and your DH can decide together on something you're both comfortable with doing. Lots of love to you, sounds like it's a stressful time.

Pinkroseuk · 07/03/2019 20:43

Thankyou @NoseringGirl - it's lovely to know your all hear and so supportive xx

NoseringGirl · 08/03/2019 21:19

How's everyone doing today?
I got the go ahead to go back on metformin today and was even able to get the prescription straight away so have taken my first dose this evening. So excited!

mussie · 08/03/2019 21:54

@NoseringGirl that's fantastic! So speedy! How soon do you get results from it?

I've got another hCG test tomorrow morning. Expecting it to have halved to about 90. BUT I kind of got my period as of 3 days ago? It's bizarre. I had a week of bleeding shortly after the methotrexate, that was quite light, nothing much. Then that stopped, and I had like 2 days without and then now some heavy bleeding and cramps. I was really nervous that the ectopic was rupturing or something, but the EPU said it was fine. And then I realised, it's exactly when my period would have been due from the last "period" I had, that was just before the BFP. so now I'm thinking my body is on a cycle and it is seemingly unstoppable, regardless of hCG levels to the contrary!! But I'm really hoping it's a good sign that the hCG has dropped really low, we'll see. I was half tempted to just do a pregnancy test, but I'm going to be sensible and wait for the hCG result. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

NoseringGirl · 08/03/2019 22:11

@mussie definitely sensible to wait for the blood test. There are too many factors that could impact a pee stick and it's not a good quantitive test. I hope it's dropped right down for you though and your body is getting back into it's rhythm.
I've been trying to remember how quickly the metformin worked last time. I think I started it in February 2016 and DS2 was born New Year's Day 2017. So it was a matter of weeks really. I'm scared to get my hopes up too much in case it doesn't work as well this time but it's hard not to be excited.

dottydally · 09/03/2019 07:36

I will read the full thread and reply properly but I just wondered if anyone is around. I'm getting up in 10 minutes to test and I'm scared!

mussie · 09/03/2019 08:04

Oh @dottydally good luck!!

mussie · 09/03/2019 08:07

@NoseringGirl and I hope it works the same this time! Oh that's so exciting ☺️

dottydally · 09/03/2019 08:24

@mussie I still haven't got out of bed! I'm too nervous. . . I feel like I'm setting myself up for a BFN.

mussie · 09/03/2019 08:33

@dottydally well you won't know til you know. You could put off testing til tomorrow morning if you think that would be better?

dottydally · 09/03/2019 09:04

There may have been a few swear words uttered in the bathroom this morning. . .

There's a line! It's faint but it's there and it's pink. I'll do another tomorrow and maybe buy a digital for Tuesday.

mussie · 09/03/2019 12:43

@dottydally congratulations!! Wonderful news!

dottydally · 09/03/2019 13:49

@mussie I can't believe it! I had it face down on the floor for ages earlier while I had a word with myself about not getting upset if it was negative. Still very early as AF isn't due for 2/3 days but I'm tentatively excited! Ill see what the next week or so brings.

How did your HCG test go this morning?

mussie · 09/03/2019 15:51

It was good, not quite as good as I hoped, but still good. Dropped from 186 to 75, I had hoped for 60. By my reckoning it should be 0 in just over a week, but the nurse said 'hopefully it'll only be a few more weeks now' 😭 which is maybe the least comforting thing someone has said to me while trying to be comforting. It's so drawn out. I mean it is really making the 12 weeks fly by, because I'm still sodding pregnant for so many of them! Out getting tipsy on nice beers and eating a massive burger and chips so it's all good.

Keep us up to date with how things go! Good luck xx

rollerskaterdata · 09/03/2019 21:23

@dottydally errrrr I hope you took a picture!!!!!! I NEED to see it! Tentatively so excited for you!!

dottydally · 09/03/2019 21:26

@mussie that is good news though! I'm pleased it's going in the right direction. May will be here before you know it. We can comfort you if the nurses can't! Very jealous of your burger though. We're trying to be healthy but I am desperate for something with grease and carbs!

Tell us about the lovely things you've got planned so far?

dottydally · 09/03/2019 21:29

@rollerskaterdata are you even ttc if you don't obsessively take pictures of tests? Of course I did!

Photo attached. It's cropped funny as I have a bit of an unusual ring!

Congrats @dottydally xxx

rollerskaterdata · 09/03/2019 21:48

@dottydally ARGGHHHHH no mistaking that, your eggo is preggo!!! I'm so so so happy and excited for you, and first cycle you lucky thing!! Have you worked out your EDD based on LMP yet? It must be my crazy hormones but I'm literally so chuffed for you I'm grinning ear to ear and we've never even met! 😂

rollerskaterdata · 09/03/2019 21:50

@dottydally oooh have you told your DH?! What did he say/how did he react?!

OP posts:
dottydally · 09/03/2019 21:58

@cupcakesandglitter Thank you!

@rollerskaterdata thank you!! It felt quite faint but not exactly a squinter! I've got another FRER for tomorrow and a CB digital for Tuesday (AF due) and then I'm stepping away from the tests although there are 2 CB in the box. It's weird but it almost feels too lucky. Like tomorrow I'll get a BFN or it will all have been a dream. I did resist symptom spotting but the burpy nausea is bugging me.

The NHS calculator thinks it's the 19th of November. LMP was the 6th of February but my cycles are usually 34 days which skews it slightly. I'm 4 weeks tomorrow apparently!

I love that you're so excited! I'm excited too! You've been around since the original thread, we are hardly strangers now!

dottydally · 09/03/2019 22:01

@rollerskaterdata I told him this morning! He was asleep when I did it as I whole heartedly believed it would be a BFN. I was just going through the motions a bit until I turned it over and my heart ended up in my mouth. I got back in bed and fidgeted rather violently waited for him to wake up. In the end I just prodded him til he stirred. We had a pointless conversation about the weather for a bit as I was trying to act all casual about it like I hadn't just been crying on the toilet then he asked if I'd done it. I just sat beaming!

rollerskaterdata · 09/03/2019 22:21

@dottydally deffo not a squinter, I didn't need to zoom in or use filters or anything GrinI think that's a good plan, I did one last one the day AF was due then stepped away from the tests otherwise I would've driven myself mad! Saying that I had an early scan though before the 12 week one so clearly wasn't that calm/patient Grin

Ooh a November baby, so lovely! And you're right, we aren't strangers, and I think it's also because I know how long you were waiting to even start TTC that makes it even more exciting, I think you had the longest wait on the original thread!

Ahhh you were so patient, I literally squealed, shook my DH awake and screeched "Looooook!". Bless him he was so disorientated it took a while for him to realise what I was on about! What did your DH say/do after he realised why you were beaming so brightly? X
