Hi lovelies!

A thread for the graduates of those who were waiting to TTC and are now actively trying, or very soon to be actively trying! Apologies if I've forgotten anyone or tagged the wrong people, please do join in or join later as necessary! Hoping we can continue to support and keep each other sane in this TTC madness!

@mussie I know it's not quite the same, but my last few months waiting to ttc really dragged so we planned one thing a week. Not necessarily expensive days out, things like a walk in the woods. We did one trip to the beach which was amazing (bundled up warm for winter) but it was quite a trek to get there. There's just something about sea air though! We are also all here to keep you company Smile

I'm struggling with the high expectations I have of my body. I know it's mainly luck but I find it hard that I have no control Sad

PastaSauceHoarder · 23/02/2019 16:23

You definitely deserve some lovely treats @mussie, I hope this time flys by for you. 💛

Its hard isn't it @dottydally, I do hope your TTC journey is a short one. Where are you in your cycle now?

dottydally · 23/02/2019 17:09

@PastaSauceHoarder it's harder than I expected and this is only cycle number 1! I am on CD18 today (cycles are usually 33/34 days) and Flo thinks I will ovulate tomorrow. FF says Tuesday but I think tomorrow is more accurate as I have sore boobs & EWCM (sorry, tmi!). They are suggesting I should wait until 11 March to test which is the day AF is due, by which time I'll be potentially 16DPO. I know what I'm like though. . . The cheapies will be out by the 5th 10DPO is fine right?!

PastaSauceHoarder · 23/02/2019 17:34

Ooh well fingers crossed for ovulation tomorrow! 🤞🏻🤞🏻
Haha 10DPO sounds like a reasonable time to start testing to me. Wink With this current pregnancy I tested negative on 9DPO and 10DPO but finally got my BFP on 11DPO.

dottydally · 23/02/2019 18:07

@PastaSauceHoarder yes I've got everything crossed! You'll all be getting daily updates from 10DPO. I know it's unlikely it'll happen this cycle but I can only hope.

11DPO makes me feel better. What's the earliest you've tested?? I won't touch my FRERs too early though!

mussie · 23/02/2019 18:45

@dottydally oh it's exactly the same! Is the waiting thread still going? I was thinking I could rejoin it 😂 and so excited too for daily POAS updates 😁 I usually do 10dpo because that is the day AF is due, but both pregnancies I've had, showed BFN at 10dpo so maybe I shouldn't 😂

rollerskaterdata · 23/02/2019 19:43

@dottydally I got my BFP at 11dpo too if it's any help Grin waiting until 16dpo requires willpower I do not possess!

dottydally · 24/02/2019 08:43

@mussie it is! It's not the same as before though. I dropped off it a bit before the end as it wasn't like when we were all there. Whatever you do please make sure you say hello, even if you don't want to be here all the time (Although you are more than welcome to!).

@rollerskaterdata 16DPO is completely ridiculous I know. 10 seems more manageable! Fingers crossed for today though!!

mussie · 24/02/2019 08:56

@dottydally oh don't worry about me, I'll be hanging around like a bad smell 😂 I'll not have much to contribute, but I'll stick my nose into all your discussions regardless 😁 happy O day!!

dottydally · 24/02/2019 09:07

@mussie that's good! By all means please stick your nose in whatever takes your fancy. I'm not sure how interesting I'll be either!

I need someone to motivate me to get out of bed. DP out with friends today and there's loads of work to do here. Nothing exciting me! I'll also sleep horribly tonight if I don't get up and get on! I've told him he needs to be back early tonight as we can't miss today. Wondering what I have become, I swore I'd be super chilled and just see what happened with no rush. How wrong I was!

mussie · 24/02/2019 13:44

Did you manage to get moving in the end @dottydally ? Hope you're not working too hard today, day of rest and all that! I'm currently on the sofa with a cup of tea, a sharing bag of crisps to myself and MN, what more could you want from a Sunday eh? 😌

dottydally · 24/02/2019 14:05

I did @mussie! I've washed the bed sheets and they are drying outside on the line. I am weirdly excited to be able to get washing outside again! I know it can only be done on odd days as it's only February but the smell is so much nicer than my tumble drier.

Other than that I'm plonked on the sofa with a pack of 4 milkybars which I will eat all of and a book. Oh and MN of course! It's 17 degrees here so I also have the French doors and some windows open. It makes me want to book a holiday. Will you be getting away over the summer?

mussie · 24/02/2019 14:16

@dottydally ooh that sounds dreamy. We've got a week booked to Copenhagen at Easter, and have got my annual leave approved for two weeks in the summer but haven't figured out yet where to go! I'm not really into the sun/sand/sea holidays, I burn super easily. Any recommendations? Northern Europe is so expensive but it's the only place I can tolerate the weather 🙈 unless we maybe do Ireland or the north of Scotland... what about you guys?

Pinkroseuk · 24/02/2019 17:06

Hi all- have been off mums net for a couple weeks and catching up-
Friends announced today that they were expecting after first month of trying and now need to find a house in time for the baby's arrival!
I have been feeling rubbish all day but need to get back onto shifting the weight - hospital appointment in two weeks and really need to loose another 3kg before then :/
I know you lovely ladies will help motivate me! :)
Loving the chat about holidays too- were off to Italy at the end of this month before it gets too hot and I burn like a lobster!

NoseringGirl · 24/02/2019 18:01

@Pinkroseuk you can do it, how's the diet been going so far? I've struggled a bit the last few days after being good since the start of the year. Feeling a bit low and been comfort eating too much. Hoping to get back to eating well, so maybe we can motivate each other!

We've been trying to plan holidays too. We went to Iceland last year which was incredible but won't be able to afford anything as good as that this year. Considering the north of Scotland too.

After having a few days of temps going up, they dropped again this morning. Still haven't had a positive OPK since CD16 and am CD25 now. No idea if I've ovulated but even if I have, I don't think there's been enough progesterone. Realised yesterday that we've been trying for 10 months now. Hadn't realised it had been so long.

Pinkroseuk · 24/02/2019 18:04

Thanks @NoseringGirl. I'm at 89.9 which means I have lost 14.3kg but still have about the same to go. I've come along way but it's taking so long that's getting me down.

I would love to go to Iceland! We did Edinburgh last year and really enjoyed it but it was late September and quite cold(for camping anyway!)

The time goes quickly in some ways doesn't it when you look back- we will hit 2 years ttc next week.

mussie · 24/02/2019 19:01

@NoseringGirl ooh Iceland is a shout! I'll have to look into that. And well done for not having counted the months so far, I feel constantly aware of how long it has been 😂

@Pinkroseuk that is such a great weight loss!! I've been losing and gaining the same 3lbs for the last couple of months - the sitting at home this week isn't helping. Really need to get my butt in gear! I need to stop buying snacks, that would help. Might do another StepBet now as well that the weather is picking up.

Pinkroseuk · 24/02/2019 19:06

Thanks @mussie
It is hard to stop stacking when things are in the house but my hubby is such a massive eater I just put things up high where I can't reach them!
I'm determined this week to not snack and not eat the 3 Birthday cakes that are currently sat in the kitchen!

NoseringGirl · 24/02/2019 20:55

@Pinkroseuk that's an incredible weight loss, you're an inspiration!!

@mussie I think the irregular cycles stopped me being so aware of the months. One upside of them I suppose!

Pinkroseuk · 25/02/2019 06:55

Thanks @NoseringGirl
I have come a long way but struggling to see an end to it atm!
I was kind of hoping by now my periods would have returned but no such luck yet! Still another week has started to will try again :)

dottydally · 25/02/2019 07:22

@mussie Copenhagen sounds brilliant! We do odd city breaks but I always gravitate towards a hot summer holiday. I am a sun worshiper - I go incredibly brown too. How hot is too hot for you??

Welcome back @Pinkroseuk and congratulations on the weight loss so far! You've done amazingly well Wine we've been stuck in a food rut so I'm hunting out new recipes and am in love with Tom Kerridge. He has a new program on BBC which is all focussed on changing eating habits and getting healthy. I'm not sure if it's your thing but maybe worth a look for inspiration! How much is 3kg in stone? I'll confess to not really understanding kgs, I've only ever weighed in stone and pounds!

@NoseringGirl Hello again! Iceland sounds lovely, one to put on the list! Maybe a stupid question but how do you know there's not enough progesterone? It doesn't seem 10 months since you dropped off the other thread!

Does anyone know about HIIT and TTC? I probably do it twice a week on average (three times on a good week) but I'm paranoid I'll have to give it up when we get a BFP. I love it and it keeps my weight level and allows me to eat like it's going out of fashion. Will I have to take it easy? Obviously I know I might get sick/tired etc that would also stop me, but just interested in principle!

mussie · 25/02/2019 08:32

@dottydally too hot for me is about 24 degrees 🙈 so I tend to only venture to Southern Europe in spring and autumn. I just go from white to 🍅 in about ten minutes flat, and I hate the smell of sun cream! And that programme sounds interesting - I'm still at home as my sick line runs out Wednesday, so I might check that out. And correct me if I'm wrong @Pinkroseuk but I think 3kg is about 6-7lbs?

My understanding is that anything your body is used to, is fine to continue, as long as there's not a high risk of falls or getting a blow to the abdomen. So if you're already doing it and managing fine, you could keep going. The fatigue might hold you back though as you say! And it's also important to listen to your body more - don't try and push yourself too much, let your body tell you when to stop. I'm so impressed that you're into it, I always think I should try it out but I'm too nervous!

dottydally · 25/02/2019 08:57

@mussie but the smell of suncream always gets me in the holiday mood. I do hate the stickiness though. Are you more of a city break person then? I really liked his program because he just does normal food, things I could actually cook at home of an evening. How are you feeling about going back to work?

@Pinkroseuk that's a lot!!

Makes sense on the exercise. There's no risk of any kind of blow to the abdomen but a little bit in terms of falling sometimes. I might just have to modify it slightly. It's one of those things that is quite addictive. I would definitely give it a go! It also makes a big difference to me that I only need to do it for 45 mins a go, where I have friends that spend 2 hours in the gym - that would be by evening gone! Whilst I don't do weights, I have found it's toned me up generally. I can't remember where you live but happy to recommend classes if it's near me!

I think I'm 1DPO here. The next 9 days will drag. . .

mussie · 25/02/2019 12:14

@dottydally yeah we definitely do a fair number of city breaks, and also walking holidays, when we've done too much hustle and bustle. I would consider a cruise, haven't tried one before, but DH is convinced it wouldn't be his thing 😂 I think he'd enjoy skiing, we've never been, but he doesn't want to try that either. Both options are expensive tbf. I'll try and keep wearing him down 😏 I'm in Edinburgh so I don't think I'm near you! I'm not near anyone 😂 I'm definitely going to get more active over the next few months, now that the weather is picking up and I need to occupy my time. Will peruse the offerings at the local gym.

Going back to work - a bit apprehensive. Worried that I'll need to hit the ground running, which I'm not quite ready for, I want to ease back in gently. I'm considering doing a few bits and bobs of admin from home the day before I go back, to settle me in a bit! Will have to speak to the boss for permission, she goes mad when people do work on their day off 🙈

Pinkroseuk · 25/02/2019 19:03

Thanks @dottydally. Yes I think it's about 6-7 pounds too @mussie. It's ambitious but I'm determined to try my hardest! Just had salad and chicken and Hubby is now sat with cake and crisps which I'm avoiding so far!
Anyone recommend anywhere for long weekends in the UK? We're midlands ish bases so can get to most places fairly easily
