Hi lovelies!

A thread for the graduates of those who were waiting to TTC and are now actively trying, or very soon to be actively trying! Apologies if I've forgotten anyone or tagged the wrong people, please do join in or join later as necessary! Hoping we can continue to support and keep each other sane in this TTC madness!

Unless you know your fertile week I think they reckon you should be DTD every other day to maximise your chances, @dottydally.

We just did it a craaazy amount during my fertile week and luckily caught the egg on our 2nd cycle. Blush

rollerskaterdata · 06/02/2019 21:44

@dottydally exactly what @PastaSauceHoarder said, every other day throughout cycle is advised although gets tiring! We just went for it full throttle during fertile week (and also did SMEP, you can have a google to see what that is exactly). Also caught second cycle but remember I was tracking, SMEP-ing AND used preseed!

Oh bloody hell it fails to send then sends twice!

PastaSauceHoarder · 06/02/2019 21:46

Oh yes, mustn't forget the preseed! I'm sure that was your recommendation, @rollerskaterdata. 😂😂

mussie · 06/02/2019 23:36

@dottydally well, not so great for me actually - I know when I ovulate and we DTD plenty, but still not much luck. Have conceived once in 7 cycles, and it resulted in a mc at just over 5 weeks. I think it's a short luteal phase that's my problem. It's comforting to know that I've at least managed to get pregnant once, so it's possible! Hopefully this will be the cycle - I'm on CD5 ish at the mo. This needs to be the cycle or I'm taking a month off - want to try and avoid a Christmas baby 😂

dottydally · 07/02/2019 07:23

@PastaSauceHoarder ok so I have got my NC thermometer out, just to see if I can get along with it. I struggled before as I doze too much in the mornings so I don't think I was getting proper readings. It might help me track my fertile week though. At the minute I only know what my app tells me!

@rollerskaterdata every other day is going to be fun but I will be so tired! We are both so tired these days. I spent a couple of weeks in France in January which wiped me out and DP spent a week on a stag do. We've also just finished major home renovations (extension to our kitchen and added a downstairs toilet) and I think he was looking forward to a rest! I'm happy we did it all though, we only had one bathroom before (upstairs) which was annoying - particularly if we had guests. The bigger kitchen is a bonus!

I'll head off and google SMEP and will purchase some preseed. . .

oh @mussie I'm sorry to hear it's not been great. You are on similar dates to me so we will be in it together and I'm rooting for you Thanks my cycles are slightly longer though I think so I'm looking at March 10th before I could take any tests. How long are yours?

I'm also struggling to keep myself realistic. I know it's very unlikely to happen first time and I shouldn't get my hopes up but it's too easy.

mussie · 07/02/2019 07:40

@dottydally it happens first time for plenty of people! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 AF is due March 5th, but I'll only be 10dpo then. I'll probably wait until at least 7th or hopefully 9th to test, I'm getting bored of testing early. Just feels like such an anticlimax when it's BFN. but you never know, maybe this time AF will not arrive and it will all be as exciting as I want it to be 😁

NoseringGirl · 07/02/2019 08:15

@mussie when we were TTC DS2, we'd been trying for 16 months and decided to take a month off to avoid a Christmas baby. That was somehow the month I got pregnant and he was born New Year's Day! We'll be attempting a month or two off at the same time this time around as well. Will see how that goes Grin

dottydally · 07/02/2019 09:22

@mussie keeping everything crossed for us! I should be 12dpo by the 10th but I know I'll be going crazy by then. I'm incredibly impatient!

I know it does happen but I have that niggling feeling we won't be that lucky. We will have to wait and see though!

@NoseringGirl maybe that is the answer! We should all just stop trying Grin

NoseringGirl · 07/02/2019 19:08

@dottydally if only it was that simple! Grin DS2 just likes to be difficult and making his appearance at the one time he wasn't meant to was only the start of that! At that point of trying I was just so happy to be pregnant that I didn't mind too much. I did worry that he would come late Christmas Eve and is miss Christmas Day with DS1 but thankfully he waited!

mussie · 10/02/2019 16:35

I have just had a BFP on what I thought was CD9 😅 have had a week of bleeding, pretty much right on time for AF, but it was just a little different and I thought I was being mad but that I would just POAS anyway. And BFP!! At 20dpo I reckon. So I'm not particularly hopeful given the amount of bleeding, but the last time I miscarried, bleeding started CD37 and I got a BFN 7 days later. For this cycle bleeding started CD33 and got BFP 8 days later. Will keep testing to see what's going on. Bizarre. Anyone else had this before?!

NoseringGirl · 10/02/2019 16:45

Oh wow @mussie congratulations on the BFP, keeping everything crossed it's a sticky one! I know some women have things like fibroids that can cause bleeding in pregnancy. I'd give the doctors a call tomorrow and see if they can get you in for blood tests to check hcg is rising and a scan to see if they can figure out what's causing the bleeding.

mussie · 10/02/2019 16:59

@NoseringGirl oh yes, I hadn't thought of fibroids. And actually in this pregnancy (!) and the last one, I've had a little bleeding after sex, so could be an ectropion or something. Have sworn off sex for at least a week or two now, don't want any more bleeding. Will wait to see if everything's ok before going ahead again.

I have the number for the EPU, but really they don't want to see you until after 6 weeks. By LMP I'll be 6 weeks tomorrow, so I can give them a ring if I get any more bleeding. By ovulation I'm only 5 weeks tomorrow, so I'd rather wait a bit longer if I can, to make sure they could see something on a scan. Regarding blood tests, I feel that knowing my hCG levels won't change the success of the pregnancy, so I'd rather not go through the hassle of arranging them. Going to do a digital weeks test tomorrow, as a rough hCG test, so that'll be enough for me! My DH thinks I'm mad as it is for wanting to test more than once 😂 I've told him I'm comparatively very restrained and that he should spend more time on MN 😂

NeverHadANickname · 11/02/2019 03:01

Congratulations @mussie I can offer no advice but will keep my fingers crossed everything is ok.

rollerskaterdata · 11/02/2019 09:56

@mussie huge congrats hun! I'm afraid I can't offer any insight either but I really do hope for a positive outcome for you. Remember, odds are always in your favour! X

Confirmed on digital this morning. I'm around 21dpo, so I can only imagine that I implanted really late or something? I did get a BFN at 12dpo so maybe implanted after that. Going to test again next week to see if it is going up or not. Not had any more bleeding so I suppose I am PUPO!

Jelliestogether · 13/02/2019 15:02

@dottydally glad your finally TTC it seems like you've been waiting for ages! But your time is now here!!!

@mussie congratulations!! That's amazing news! Fingers crossed this one sticks!

mussie · 13/02/2019 20:05

@Jelliestogether actually it's not really looking like great news - potentially a miscarriage, or even ectopic. Had an hCG yesterday of 145, repeat is booked in for tomorrow. Waiting and seeing just now 🤷🏼‍♀️

NoseringGirl · 13/02/2019 20:27

@mussie I'm keeping everything crossed for you that your hcg has risen enough at the next blood test!

rollerskaterdata · 13/02/2019 20:29

@mussie I'm keeping all of my crossables crossed for you xxx

OP posts:
Jelliestogether · 14/02/2019 06:53

@mussie fingers crossed for you! I'll be thinking of you x

mussie · 14/02/2019 16:34

hCG today had risen to 234. So leftover hCG from an early miscarriage has been ruled out. Ectopic pregnancy and a viable ongoing pregnancy are both still on the table. Another hCG booked for Saturday and potentially another scan Sunday if the hCG is still doubling, to see where this pregnancy is. Keeping my fingers crossed that this bean is sensibly implanted in the right place, and not causing havoc 🤞🏻

NoseringGirl · 14/02/2019 16:53

Glad to hear the hCG is rising @mussie I'm still keeping everything crossed for you. Hopefully you'll know for sure over the weekend.

rollerskaterdata · 14/02/2019 19:23

@mussie so glad it's good news so far, fx for continuing good news xx
