Anybody else? I'm on CD16, pretty sure I ovulated over the past day or two, now for the long frustrating wait to POAS! Why is it so hard to resist for 14 measly days?!

We are TTC #2 and this is our first cycle of trying.

I'm out! AF has arrived. I am gutted Sad

Carastarchild · 02/09/2018 21:50

@loveshinealight I'm so sorry to hear that. Be kind to yourself. Sending you a virtual hug ☹️

ChikiTIKI · 03/09/2018 06:26

I'm sorry @loveshinealight good luck for next month

Fae1989 · 03/09/2018 07:03

@Carastarchild & @GlamourBear - I think I might start temping and doing opks too, at least it gives us a better idea. Just using an app at the moment and getting nowhere. It’s really disheartening when af arrives every month. At least we have each other!

@ChikiTIKI - definitely! Fingers crossed for you :)

Fae1989 · 03/09/2018 07:04

@Loveshinealight - sorry to hear that! All our times will come! Fingers crossed for next time :)

GlamourBear · 03/09/2018 07:07

@loveshinealight sorry to hear it's arrived Sad

Around what date does everybody think they are ovulating this month? My app is saying 7wrrk window from around 14th

OP posts:
GlamourBear · 03/09/2018 07:07

Oops 7 week*

OP posts:
Fae1989 · 03/09/2018 07:20

@GlamourBear - mine is saying 13th to 19th? It feels like so long away (plus the 2ww!)

GlamourBear · 03/09/2018 07:22

@Fae1989 another long few weeks Hmm I'm so impatient but must try to be better from now on!

OP posts:
Fae1989 · 03/09/2018 07:24

@GlamourBear - I’m the same! Going to try and take my mind off it but it’s hard isn’t it? Which opks do you use if you don’t mind me asking?

GlamourBear · 03/09/2018 07:26

@Fae1989 I just had cheapies last month but I found the clear blue one much better last time when we were TTC DC1 so I may invest in one again. I just found it much clearer to read results and less guess work!

OP posts:
Fae1989 · 03/09/2018 07:28

@GlamourBear - that’s a good shout, thank you :)

GlamourBear · 03/09/2018 07:36

@Fae1989 you can usually get they cheaper on eBay and Amazon too

Fae1989 · 03/09/2018 08:13

@GlamourBear - thank you lovely!

LottieB87 · 03/09/2018 09:22

Hi all! I was away for the weekend, it helped to take my mind off things an enjoy some quality time with DP.

@loveshinealight sorry to hear that, fx for next month!

@GlamourBear any update on the spotting today?

@Fae1989 sorry about the bfn, 11dpo is still early though!

@ChikiTIKI glad to hear no AF yet!!

I've not tested again since the BFN at 10dpo. Temp drop this morning to just above coverline which I get before AF (expected tomorrow), and feeling low on energy and weepy today which happens without fail the day before AF so I don't need to test - I'm 99% certain she's on her way. However am having cramps which are unusual for me before AF and are localised on the side I ovulated on and have painful BBs, again not usually an AF symptom for me but I think I was so so hopeful this month for a May baby that I've been super sensitive to my body and made things more intense by 'willing' them on if you know what I mean?

@Fae1989 I really recommend temping, I use this one: www.amazon.co.uk/Smart-Basal-Thermometer-Femometer-Intelligently/dp/B072JRPYFR/?tag=mumsnetforum-21 it's a wee bit expensive but it's so easy to use (it connects to your phone via bluetooth and does everything automatically) which is probably the only reason I've managed to keep up with temping. The associated app is good and I do use it but I've also been putting the data into Fertility Friend too because it draws a coverline for you and I think their predictions are better (plus many other features like being able to see charts similar to yours). It also helps to analyse patterns if you keep inputting data as I describe below.

I use clearblue advanced. I wasn't getting any peaks with the OPKs so switched to clearblue advanced (which also track estrogen) and it's much clearer and consistent. I don't seem to get the 'flashy' smileys either at all or only for half a day. Therefore the clearblue along with temping and checking CM has helped me see the exact pattern of my window, and I have really needed all 3 methods as you'll see:

Avg. 25 Day Cycle

O-3 (usually CD9): Large amount of EWCM, negative OPK
O-2: EWCM, negative OPK
O-1: EWCM, and either: Flashy smiley AM with Solid smiley PM, OR, Straight to solid smiley (solid smiley then displays for 48 hours so testing has finished for the cycle).
Ovulation day: Watery CM, small BBT drop
O+1: Creamy CM, BBT shoots up.

I was able to predict 4 days before O with CM, I knew the day before O with OPKs, and I confirmed O with temping. Charting and putting in data in fertility friend helps you see patterns very clearly.

Sorry if that was boring/TMI, but it's been trial and error for me so if I can help anyone else then that's good!

My next predicted ovulation is Sept 15th. DP wanted a summer baby (me a spring one) so on the bright side (for him) at least he might end up getting his way at this rate.. sigh.

Ok I think mumsnet must add on the mumsnet forum tag automatically to amazon links, it wasn't me!

GlamourBear · 03/09/2018 09:28

Thanks for the info @LottieB87 will have a look. Well my spotting has stopped this morning so just waiting for it to turn into proper AF I think?! Going to the loo to check far too often! Just had some CM from about 8.00/8.30 this morning with almost no blood tinge to it

LottieB87 · 03/09/2018 09:37

@GlamourBear this is sounding pretty good! AF is due for you on the 6th right? I think you're definitely in the running for this spotting being IB...

GlamourBear · 03/09/2018 09:40

I feel like it was too heaving for IB though? It went from brown to pinky/orange to brown again then to nothing, just some CM. I'm wondering if AF is going to appear with a bang in the next 12-24 hours. I just feel like I'm having symptoms and my body is playing tricks on me! Obviously would be over the moon if it is IB and I get a BFP but I'm not going to get too hopeful

So I nearly threw up on my way to work so stopped to pick up a FRER, and I think, I think I might have a squinter... what does everyone think?

TWW begins...stop me POAS every day!
GlamourBear · 03/09/2018 10:40

@Pops1985 that looks like a line to me!! Congratulations!!!

OP posts:
ChikiTIKI · 03/09/2018 10:45

I think I see something there @Pops1985 !! Will you test again in the morning?

I just bought 2 tests and took one... BFN :( going to TRY and wait until Friday after work or maybe even Saturday morning.

ChikiTIKI · 03/09/2018 10:47

Ive been using the £1 tests from ASDA, and with my first baby I got a very clear result from the Morrisons 2 tests for £3.50. The test line was darker than the control line.

Are the ASDA ones actually any good though?

LottieB87 · 03/09/2018 11:14

@Pops1985 I think that's pretty clear!! Congrats!!

Carastarchild · 03/09/2018 12:15

Congratulations @pops1985 🎉🎉🎉🎉

Here is to many more BFP'S 💜🌟💜
