Hi all, I have just turned 39, and have 2 daughters from my previous marriage, aged 6 and 9. I am in a very happy long term relationship with my partner who is 32. We have just started TTC'ing for a baby. My third, his first. Anyone else in a similar situation?
I believe I should be ovulating today or tomorrow (On CD17 of a 32/33 day cycle) but no positive OPK yet. Worried my eggs have dried up! Wink

Hmm I can't upload the photo. Will try again tmrw 🙄

Bloodylegoeverywhere · 24/09/2018 14:02

I can't upload any photos. So I did go to the doctors. She said I may notice subtle changes through my 40's, keep an and see how it goes. Period lasted one day this time. But have got some complete vitamin b complex tablets and starflower and evening primrose oil tablets to see how that goes.

seastargirl · 24/09/2018 14:36

I've started taking B6 again, only last week and coincidentally (more than likely) have had a very positive opk today, so am hoping thats triggered ov for me. I'm hoping that someone is looking out for me so that I can have a good break when we go away (without this kids this weekend) and then hopefully will get a BFP when we get back!

@bloodylegoeverywhere sounds a bit frustrating, hope that the extra tablets will make things feel a bit more positive.

@Lattelover I'm a temping queen too, but you could get sea sick looking at my chart it's so up and down. @Makeawhish, I'd definitely recommend it, I would have been convinced I'd ovulated already had I not been doing it.

Hello @MadamDarkin hope the 2 week wait is being kind :-)

Positive opk pic in case anyone wanted to see Grin

Yes, about 400 mcg folate is often recommended (but, check with your doctor on all supplements). You may also want to look into methylated forms of folate as they likely absorb better. Have you also thought about CoQ10 especially for "advancing" maternal age? This is one that absorbs better: www.qunol.com/collections/shop/products/qunol-mega-ubiquinol

Evening all,

How’s everyone getting on?

Where are you in your cycle now @makeawhish? And how’s DH?

I’m 3dpo and have nothing to report (no surprise there!) but keep googling ‘what happens at 2dpo... 😂

It works out that AF/testing is due the next time DP is home. I’ve already pretty much decided to test with an IC on the Friday to see if it’s worth getting him excited with a proper test on the Saturday...

Friday 4th would be 13dpo so should be conclusive (as if I’ll have held off testing by then!)

MakeAWhish · 25/09/2018 19:51

Hi all!

I'm on CD10 today @LatteLover12 and impatiently awaiting ovulation! I've got the 'Flo' app and it says from now til next Thursday, there's a 'chance' I could get preggers. So we are bd'ing every other day from now til the end of next week - will BD 2/3 days in a row if I get a positive opk. Gonna throw everything at it this month! Should ov around day 17/18, all being well.
Haha, if you wait til next Friday to test, I'll eat my hat! We need to know as soon as you test - I reckon Monday is a good day Grin

Haha, you’re so right!

I got a bfp at 9dpo with my 5yo so it can be done!

Right, just off to google ‘how soon after conception will I feel sick?’

Ooh @madamdarkin!

When are you going to POAS??

madamdarkin · 25/09/2018 21:45

@LatteLover12 waiting until AF due!

MakeAWhish · 25/09/2018 21:57

@madamdarkin I literally have no idea how you can wait to POAS! I start testing from about 9/10 DPO Grin

madamdarkin · 25/09/2018 22:16

@MakeAWhish last month was first month TTC and i totally convinced my self I was positive! Wasn't!

Trying to hold out to avoid disappointment, if I had POAS on weekend etc I'd be googling why it's negative, could it still be positive- the vicious circle!

Still thinking about it every bloody minute!

MakeAWhish · 25/09/2018 22:50

Ahh yes @madamdarkin I get you. I did that last month too. I just can't promise I won't do it again this month Smile Keeping everything crossed (apart from my legs) for you all! Xx

seastargirl · 26/09/2018 12:23

I think we all do that every month @Madamdarkin although I'm determined not to this time! Can't believe you have the willpower to wait until Thurs/Fri!

@Lattelover I'm just about with you at 2DPO we're going away this weekend though, so I'm thinking nothing will happen this month as I'll be drinking and eating all the wrong things, but when the opportunity to do that without kids comes along it has to be taken!!

@Makeawhish any progress on Ov yet? Very impressed with your commitment to BD'ing so frequently! I have such long and unreliable cycles sometimes that we get fed up of it!

Bloodylegoeverywhere · 26/09/2018 13:52

I'm still here, on cd5 and spotting came back 🙄
Oh and avoid peas!! I eat a lot of peas! You ever heard of this?
Good luck everyone this month! www.telegraph.co.uk/comment/personal-view/3561093/Cut-out-those-peas-if-you-really-want-a-bundle-of-joy.html

MakeAWhish · 26/09/2018 17:11

Haha, we've not been together 2 years yet, so the frequency of BD'ing is actually normal for us - in fact it's usually 5-6 times a week when we're not ttcing so we're actually reducing it Blush

LatteLover12 · 26/09/2018 19:43

I’m with you there @makeawhish me and DP have been together for 3 years & we're the same 😁

I’m 4dpo now and would love to say I had some symptoms but apart from being exhausted there is nothing to report!

@seastargirl you can take my peas but you’ll never take my rhubarb!! 😂 I hope you have a lovely weekend.

What on earth is going on @bloodylegoeverywhere??

seastargirl · 26/09/2018 20:23

Together 14 years, so maybe not quite as active as the rest of you Blush

LatteLover12 · 27/09/2018 19:59

Okay, a few (intermittent) symptoms...

Frequent trips to the bathroom- I am usually capable of going at 7am and not again till 5pm - I have a teacher bladder of steel!

Nausea - I’ve been feeling sick on and off all day today and yesterday.

Cramps & bloating.

Exhaustion- I’m normally in bed by midnight & up at 6am kind. The last two nights have seen me in bed by 10.30 after falling asleep on the sofa.

I’m only 5 or 6 dpo, I know I am mad, I can’t help it. 😁

seastargirl · 27/09/2018 21:43

Oooh @lattelover12 they sound exciting, fingers crossed!

My first symptom has always been thrush on my tongue, I've never wished for that so much before!

MakeAWhish · 27/09/2018 22:34

@LatteLover12 great symptoms!! Sounding really promising. Keep us updated, I'd like a daily symptom report please! I'm on CD13, predicted to ovulate CD18. No ov signs so far, will start with the opks tomorrow.

madamdarkin · 28/09/2018 13:49

Ok ladies! AF due yesterday/today. Am 14 DPO.

Cramps subsided, now it's just the boobs are sore and hot! Heavy feeling in uterus has replaced cramps.

I haven't tested yet! How I've stuck out so far I don't know.

Think tomorrow or Sunday will be d-day....

iris81 · 28/09/2018 16:23

@madamdarkin I'm the same as you, 14 dpo. Tested this afternoon bfn, I'll try again first thing. I feel nauseous on and off but I'm wondering if I'm imagining it! Oh and I don't fancy a Friday night wine which is def not like me ha 😊

LatteLover12 · 28/09/2018 16:57

Keeping everything crossed for you @madamdarkin & @iris81

Today I went into the city centre, shopping. I felt like death. Sick, tired and crampy. Far to early for me to POAS but feeling hopeful.
