TTC baby number 3 at nearly 40

Hi all, I have just turned 39, and have 2 daughters from my previous marriage, aged 6 and 9. I am in a very happy long term relationship with my partner who is 32. We have just started TTC'ing for a baby. My third, his first. Anyone else in a similar situation?
I believe I should be ovulating today or tomorrow (On CD17 of a 32/33 day cycle) but no positive OPK yet. Worried my eggs have dried up! Wink

Congratulations @seastargirl and 😊

SylvanianFrenemies · 05/10/2018 12:27

Have been lurking, then this happened a few minutes ago!

Have 2 DCs 7 and 2, and will be 41 soon. Had a very early miscarriage earlier this year. Have been wobbling a bit, thinking maybe we should just stick with what we've got. In fact, just yesterday DP mentioned some similar wobbles. But I was elated when that line appeared, and I know we'll find a way to make it great!

Congratulations @seastargirl - BFP twins!

@MakeAWhish I think it's pretty easy to miss ovulation. I always find it easier to go by EWCM than by OPKs. I didn't have a positive OPK this month but got the BFP anyway.

LatteLover12 · 05/10/2018 12:30

Huge congratulations ladies!!

AF got me this morning so CD1 for me & on to cycle 2.

Not too down about it - off to see DP later today 😊

seastargirl · 05/10/2018 14:20

So sorry @lattelover have a fab time and an extra large gin tonight!

Thanks everyone, sorry as well as I know it's always a bit of a sucker punch when someone gets one! I've spent a fortune on tests for the next few days Blush

Congrats @SylvanianFrenemies

Bloodylegoeverywhere · 05/10/2018 22:44

Congratulations @SylvanianFrenemies

So to add to my mishaps I've mislaid my thermometer. My temp didn't rise, then stayed the same for two days then I lost the blinking thermometer. My cm went all wet and yuck and still is 5 days later so god knows going on... My rhr on my fitbit is rising so may be I did ovulate and the vitb has caused excess cm.
But I have ordered a new thermometer (which is good to track my cycles regardless of not ttc now) 🙄

MakeAWhish · 06/10/2018 09:37

@LatteLover12 I'm sorry Sadbut loving your positive attitude to cycle 2! Have a fab weekend with DP.
So, CD22 and I FINALLY got a positive opk! I obviously just ovulate late in my cycle. My other 2 children were 2 weeks overdue, which makes sense I guess. So, wish us luck! We've been at it every day since last Friday so am hoping there's something left to swim Grin

Can I join?
I'm 35, hubby is 40. I have an 8 year old son from previous relationship, hubby has a 21 and 20 year old sons from previous relationship (and a 1 year old granddaughter!). We are TTC first together.
Came off cerelle 2nd September (after 8 years on it) had a very light withdrawal (?) bleed from 2nd October but (sorry if tmi!) it was really brown blood and not a lot of it now thinking it might be an implantation bleed (wishful thinking!).
Good luck everyone!

MakeAWhish · 06/10/2018 11:40

Welcome @FrancesV83 ! Good luck to you too - hope it happens nice and quickly for you! Thanks

It's a good way to look @lattelover12. I was a bit pleased when my af actually turned so I could start a new cycle. One of mine was 41 days, that felt like forever! Get cracking again @makeawhish
Welcome FrancesV83

LatteLover12 · 07/10/2018 09:29

Thanks for all the positivity ladies, I’m pleased I found this thread!

Welcome along @sylvanianfrenemies and @FrancesV83 😊

Good luck @MakeaWhish - my ov day is cd21 so I know it feels like eternity to get there!

Hope the new thermometer arrives soon @bloodylegoeverywhere. I’ve given myself a few days off whilst AF is here but will start the 6.30 alarm calls again this week 😴

MakeAWhish · 07/10/2018 14:34

You're right, it feels like an eternity!! Now I'm a little confused as to what DPO I am, do you ovulate the day you get positive opk, or the day after? I might call this 1dpo and go from there.
How is everyone today? We haven't had the kids this weekend, and I feel like all I've thought about it TTC. It gets in your head, doesn't it?! Hope you're all having a happy Sunday xx

By the way, am slightly concerned that DP's swimmers have been depleted this week, as I thought I was ov'ing in the week so we DTD every night since last Friday night, with only this Friday off.... poor boy, he's worried he was empty by the time ov actually happened Blush

😂 makeawhish! I’m sure it’ll be fine - it only takes one!

We went to look at prams/buggies/baby paraphernalia at mamas and papas today🙈 DP didn’t seem to phazed by the extortionate prices!

seastargirl · 07/10/2018 19:48

Glad you've finally it's @makeawhish the long cycles are a nightmare aren't they!

@lattelover love the baby shopping already!

@bloodylegoeverywhere are you sticking with trying then?

Fingers crossed for you all!

I've had a 1'- 2 weeks on cbd today and the frer is getting darker. Word of warning though, with all that my ic's are still super squinters and I would never have believed I was pregnant from those, so worth spending the extra if you can.

MakeAWhish · 07/10/2018 19:49

@seastargirl I ordered a double pack of FRER from amazon today in preparation Blush

Bloodylegoeverywhere · 07/10/2018 20:17

My long cycles were when I was trying for my second child. Now I'm so lucky I get two af a month. It's ridiculous!! Prob not, I'm a few days past ovulation I think so will see how this tww turns out and just temp to attempt to avoid dh till after ovulation (dangerous game I know 😂). But will keep an eye out for you lovely ladies!

seastargirl · 07/10/2018 20:42

@makeawhish some have 3 in a box of 2 at the moment in boots, although looks like everyone else knows as most places have run out!

LatteLover12 · 09/10/2018 19:59

Man alive it’s so boring waiting to hatch an egg!!

No data to obsess over, no symptoms to spot.

I need something to focus on! I think virtual shopping is the way forward - I got rid of all my baby stuff years ago! 🙈

So, bugaboo anyone? Tiny hats? Fancy changing bag? What’s good?

Bloodylegoeverywhere · 09/10/2018 20:16

@lattelover12 my rhr has started dropping and I think I estimated my ovulation day wrong. Yes the tww is very long..... I am in the camp of not liking bugaboos so feel free to ignore me . My friend has one and it took us 20 mins to get it down (she's not the mum so doesn't need to put it down/used it for long etc) I love the 3 wheelers for opening a door by myself, bumping up kerbs, walking in the woods. But that's what I wanted from a buggy. Depends on where you live and lifestyle etc.
I loved the out and about, Phil and Ted's etc

LatteLover12 · 09/10/2018 21:10

Ooh good to know @bloodylegoeverywhere!

I had a 3 wheeler for DSs but everyone seems to have a bugaboo these days...

I’m quietly hoping I have twins which is a whole different kettle of fish!

Bloodylegoeverywhere · 11/10/2018 22:02

Roll call time everyone.
How are you all and what's new?!
😊

MakeAWhish · 11/10/2018 22:13

@Bloodylegoeverywhere that's so weird - I was just coming on here to post and ask how you were all doing!!
5dpo (here and no symptoms other than I seem to be able to cry at most things this week! Happy and sad! Most unlike me. How is everyone else doing? Xx

OP posts:
Bloodylegoeverywhere · 12/10/2018 12:54

Well I'm between 6 and 10dpo as my app says one, my rhr says another, my cervix closed later. My temp has gone up more but rhr has dropped. I bought a pound shop test and just peed on it but no lines at all, not even the one line. Very annoying!! So maybe I am only 6 dpo which in that case we missed ovualtion whilst we backtracked! New thermometer has come! Smile
I'm so glad it is Friday!

LatteLover12 · 12/10/2018 17:38

Hoorah for Friday!

I’ve been rubbish at taking my temperature this week & I’m nowhere near ovulation but DP is home again this weekend so I’m just going to have a relaxing weekend. Well, as relaxing as it gets with two boys and a dog! 😂

I don’t think we’ll even be in the same country when my egg finally makes an appearance so I’m not going to get my hopes up too much this month.

Looking forward to lots of symptom spotting from you both!
