Happy (belated) birthday @doddlebobs and @rdm10!
Looks like there's a few of us going into the tww at the same time. I'm 1dpo, I reckon...

@Redrobin7 I know it's easy for me/us to say but try not to over-worry about this. You'd be really lucky to catch first time and if you do then you should not feel guilty about it at all. You will know by the time you see the gynaecologist and it is really hard to perfectly time these kinds of appointments anyway. It will be along wait though til next week though!

Cyclops10 · 20/08/2018 19:05

**RedRobin7

Yay for ovulating! After my miscarriages, I’m always relieved when I ovulate because it feels something is going right.

If you’re pregnant, that would affect certain tests such as your thyroid function so it might be they can’t do certain blood tests. They also won’t be able to measure the hormones accurately. They may still be able to do clotting and antiphospholipid bloods but I think that might be each individual doctor’s preference. BUT if you’re pregnant, having a specialist input in the early weeks of your pregnancy won’t be a bad thing. They might be able to suggest other things they can do to monitor you during this pregnancy and even think about progesterone/aspirin/steroids/other medication cocktails if they think you would benefit, based on your history and whichever of the tests they can interpret accurately. So it’s no bad thing if you see your gynaecologist and you’re pregnant!

Cyclops10 · 20/08/2018 19:06

@RedRobin7

Urgh, still not getting the hang of this making things bold via phone on MN

RedRobin7 · 20/08/2018 19:12

@robin78 When we tried after my first MC I got pregnant first cycle. So I'm aware it could happen again! I know I shouldn't worry about what work think either but they've been so kind and gone above and beyond for me so I don't want them to feel like I've done it on purpose!

@Cyclops10 Thank you, that's helpful. Maybe I will test the day before and then can always phone the secretary to check they'd still see me if I am pregnant. Probably won't be now I've hyped it up lol! Thanks!

robin78 · 20/08/2018 19:27

@redrobin78 It could happen again and I know that work have been great but I'm sure they know you - you seem like a very conscientious person!- and won't think any the worse of you if that were to happen.

Cyclops10 · 20/08/2018 19:46

@RedRobin7 - that sounds like a good plan Smile

@Funkyemzie - implantation is supposed to be roughly between days 6-14 but that’s only an estimate. It could very easily be a few hours earlier ie 5dpo. It’s such a waiting game, isn’t it? How do you feel otherwise, aside from the pink/red spotting?

doddlebobs · 20/08/2018 20:37

Thanks for birthday wishes ladies! Do you think it's possible to get a false positive on the ovulation test, like a pre surge? It feels so early for me! Tested again tonight and the opk line is much faded.

@Funkyemzie fx for you! Really hope it's a crazy early sign for you.

@Lilimum4 hope you're getting some down time after your long day. I was at work on my birthday for the first time in years - usually organised enough to book it off but not this year alas. DH making me curry for dinner and DD went to sleep after only 30mins of shhh pat pat patting so pretty good over all!!

@kisses4u so sorry for your loss. I hope you enjoyed your time away, especially the cheese and wine. I don't know about your 6 week theory, my feeling would be sad coincidence but defo worth asking a professional if you have access to one. Personally I've been testing OPK with FMU as that's the easiest time for me but hear it's actually better mid morning. I think I caught my surge first thing (5am, thanks DD!) as it's faded again this evening . Also don't fancy peeing in a pot at work!!

doddlebobs · 20/08/2018 20:39

@robin78 yay tww buddies! Who else (thinks) they are starting now? I'm worried we've not done enough as caught by surprise ovulating so early we hadn't 'preloaded'!

Cyclops10 · 20/08/2018 20:56

@doddlebobs @rm78 - I’m think I’m 6 days dpo, trying not to think about it too much. Last miscarriage, I checked 14 dpo, got a BFP and then miscarried 2 weeks later. I’m still really undecided whether I’m going to test only if I’m 1-2 weeks late - I guess I’m burying my head in the sand thinking if I don’t test and miscarry early, I won’t know (and be devastated) Confused

kisses4u · 20/08/2018 21:24

Cyclops I don't think I could wait personally. With my last pregnancy I didn't test until I was 2 days late for AF but only got a squinty line. I'm wondering how if that was a sign now, looking back. I tested every day and the lines did get darker... but obviously ended in tears. I was only one day late with my previous pregnancy with DS and the line was super dark red.
I think you could wait a few days late then test. It's hard to know what's for the best really isn't it. Sitting on your hands will only make you think and wonder too much. Least if you know either way then it's just a case of wait and see (and put everything in place) fx for you.
Xxx

kisses4u · 20/08/2018 21:29

And thank you doddle, I meant pg test tho to check for any left over hCG from MC to see if I'm going ok to TTC again... I've tried opk with conceiving DS a few years ago. I didn't find them very helpful. I tend to get a good idea based on EWCM and a sharp pain in my side (used to think it was trapped wind until I realised when TTC DS that it's possibly OVHmm)

Cyclops10 · 20/08/2018 21:32

@kisses4u - It’s a really difficult scenario, isn’t it? Lots of ‘what ifs’ and trying to see how the result today is going to play out over the next few days. I say this about testing now and knowing me, I might very well start to get antsy as the days tick closer...

Thank you so much @kisses4u - I really appreciate you looking at it from another angle. Not knowing and wondering too much wouldn’t really be a great use of my time either!

strawberrye · 20/08/2018 21:46

Hi everyone just checking on the rest of the TWW crew.
Currently 7DPO and no symptoms to note. AF is due a week today so just trying to sit on my hands and not symptom spot until then!
@TedLife you were at a similar point to me in the TWW I think, how are you doing?

Hello all. Sorry to find you all here, but I'm really glad the thread exists. Hoping and praying that we all have sticky beans before too long!

Here's me:

Nearly 33

TTC #2 (DS is almost 3)

MMC at 8 weeks (bean stopped growing at 5 weeks, apparently) - I started bleeding during a holiday in Brittany while watching my son having the time of his life on a merry-go-round, which was somewhat surreal. ERPC a fortnight later.

This is cycle #3 since the MMC.

To my shame, I knew nothing about MCs until I actually had one. Is it just me, or does nobody ever talk about this sort of thing IRL? (I appreciate it's a painful thing to open up to others about, but I really was shocked when I realised how common MCs are.)

Am currently in the middle of the TTW, and it's agonising. My app, Clue, is telling me that I'm two days late (my cycle is usually only 26 days long) but BFN this morning. But then again, I'm only 11 dpo. Am trying really hard to not get my hopes up, but it's pretty much impossible, isn't it?!?

Anyway, fx for youse all.

Littleray84 · 20/08/2018 22:04

@doddlebobs I think I am possibly 3-4dpo but maybe not Confusedhad erpc 3 weeks ago after mmc. I haven't used opk's but usually have a 27-28 day cycle.
I had ovulation pain and lots of ewcm last week from Wednesday to Friday. Definite ovulation pain as I get this every month from left ovary but also felt some potential ovulation pain from the right side which is unusual for me. It may be my body playing tricks on me since my miscarriage and I haven't yet had Af since, but im crossing everything and trying to be hopeful.
I know i would be incredibly lucky to catch immediately after my mc though.

Angelbabyollie · 20/08/2018 23:22

Thanks @strawberrye for new thread.

Age 42
3 daughters
Mmc at 10 weeks 2016
Full term angel boy lived 12 days

17 weeks on and period has finally appeared yay! So now officially ttc!

Baby dust to everyone xx

Lilimum4 · 20/08/2018 23:34

@doddlebobs yes I did thanks.

Feeling strange 5dpo and hoping for the best this cycle. Trying not to stress myself out but as you all know, easier said than done x

Russkispy · 21/08/2018 07:28

Been using clearblue advanced digital OPK, got static face on CD18 (stayed for 48 hours). Never had it that late in a cycle. But maybe with MC, my cycle is messed up this time? Our first TTC after MC. So not sure how long this cycle will be then?! Around 3-4dpo now. Never been a POAS girl and will just wait for AF. Fingers crossed it never arrives! Good luck who's in 2ww!

kiltedsheep · 21/08/2018 08:41

@Russkispy

My first cycle post-MC was a bit messed up - very long and with a very long period (I'm normally only 4 days). But fingers crossed for you!

Am feeling very nauseous this morning. But I got a BFN so trying not to get my hopes up; it's probably just a dodgy dinner Confused

Newbie21 · 21/08/2018 09:00

I got my static smiley yesterday evening CD 11 but DH had to work very late and then when Home was in a foul mood as had headache and was unwell. So no dtd and we hadn't the day before as he was not well then either. In fairness he is unwell and I have a cold too but I can't help but be upset. It's our anniversary tomorrow and I just Feel upset and angry. I cried myself to sleep because I feel like all the testing and getting my hopes up was a big waste of time and now I will have another month to wait. 😢 Feeling sorry for myself.

Melpops36 · 21/08/2018 09:02

I would deffo go and see doctor. Same thing happened to me and they found a large piece of retained tissue. Hopefully it won’t be the same for you but I would go get it checked, sending you all big hugs
@xjune88

TedLife · 21/08/2018 09:12

@strawberrye Hey, thanks for thinking of me! I'm currently experiencing the rollercoaster of emotions that goes along with the TWW: Positivity the first week and now that i'm approaching the end i'm trying to battle the negative thoughts that this will never happen for us. So things are up and down and a little difficult but i'm trying to stay positive.
Symptom spotting since day 1 but have noticed boobs feel heavier and nipples darkened a couple of days ago though they've gone back to pink now. Also crazy tired since 1dpo, really finding it hard to function!
I'm 9dpo today and travelling for work the next couple of days (hopefully a welcome distraction!) so planning to test on Friday morn at 12dpo.

Russkispy · 21/08/2018 09:58

Thanks @kiltedsheep . Guess will have to wait. And did your second cycle got back to normal? Before MC. I just don't really know what to expect going forward. And I know everybody's body is different. We did our best this month, from the vitamins, Chinese and westerns acupuncture, hot bottle for the womb and just staying calm. I'm just glad there are other options if I never fall pregnant naturally. Just grateful for them
@Newbie21 , sorry it feels like a wasted cycle. And it feels like ages to wait for the next. Hope you can distract yourself somehow

robin78 · 21/08/2018 11:29

@russkipsy mc definitely can throw ovulation right out. My last 3 cycles I had ovulation on day 22, day 18, then day 15. Normally I’m 15-17. Good luck!!

strawberrye · 21/08/2018 12:03

@Russkispy I agree with @robin78 MC can definitely cause ovulation to go haywire. After my second loss I had an anovulatory cycle, and since then I have ovulated on CD11-CD15

@TedLife I know what you mean, I was feeling really positive for the first week after ovulation and now I'm feeling less so. Maybe because my temps aren't increasing? And I don't think I've ever experienced implantation bleeding. Glad you've got a few things to distract you in the next few days, I think I'm going to go mental over the bank holiday weekend trying to stop myself peeing on sticks (if AF doesn't arrive by then that is)
