Has anyone got the holy grail definitive list of prenatal vitamins and amounts? I hear a lot about needing more of the B vitamins. I take a regular pregnacare one but just in case I'm missing something be great if anyone has it can post it. Thanks.
On top of vits, doing royal jelly, can't take ubiquinol annoyingly due to heart, can't take maca due to thyroid, but if there's any other supps or vits I've missed please add.
@crivit hope bum gets better! Grin

CritterTamer · 25/09/2018 21:33

@Dinah99 I also take vitamin D in spray form, DHA oil capsules and a teaspoon of spirulina morning and evening.

mellongoose · 26/09/2018 12:58

@Dinah99 I don't know if it made a difference but I was taking B vits on top of pregacare. It's the only thing that gives me a general pick me up. I'd been feeling run down and started taking them again.

Cleozeta · 26/09/2018 13:18

Dinah no never had it.
As for vitamins, I take;
Seven seas pre conception
Ubiquinol
Royal Jelly
Wheat grass
Inositol
B complex
Sometimes vitex if it looks like things arent moving
Evening primrose oil

So for me today, my temps are still rising at 11dpo. AF is due tomorrow and got a bfn today. Temps are much higher than they would normally be, and keep rising. I would post my ff chart but can't figure out how.
Does anyone know if there is a reason aside from pregnancy for high progesterone?? Has anyone ever had a consistantly rising bbt chart before?

crivit · 26/09/2018 13:36

@Dinah99 - I am doing 2ww progesterone yes, albeit for the first time this month. I plumped for www.wellsprings-health.com/ and the serenity cream. They popped up a few times in searches, people posting about them and so on. We shall see!

Vitamins / supplements, I take a few at the moment. I did use maca for a while but, although I rather liked the taste (went well with my usual breakfast yogurt-y stuff), I didn't stick with it once my initial stash was finished. Currently I take Evening Primrose (until ovulation), a glass of grapefruit juice (same - fortunately I like the taste), soya isoflavones 100 - 150mg day 5 - 9 only, a pre-natal vit / min mix, extra calcium / magnesium / zinc (mainly because the doctor who suggested it many years ago - non-TTC related - was rather lovely), folic acid, Ubiquinol at 300mg per day (current one also has extra b6 but likely to change to one without when my current stash runs out), DHEA also at 300mg per day, Vit D one a day at the moment but will add another in a month or so given lessening sun. The DHEA I only take as I had lower testosterone at my last bloods, wouldn't have risked it otherwise without talking to a medical professional. I haven't spoken to any medical type about these supplements though. I tried to talk about it with the consultant at my fertility referral but they rather batted it all aside.

Oh, and some acidophilus at the moment because my digestive system is throwing one of its occasional strops. Very inconvenient.

I don't quite rattle!

In other news, bum feeling a lot calmer today Grin

crivit · 26/09/2018 13:40

@Cleozeta - sometimes mine keep rising until after my period starts but I have no idea why unfortunately.

fingers crossed for a BFP for you in the next few days though!

mondaycando1 · 26/09/2018 13:46

10 dpo here and I've caved and bought tests despite saying I wouldn't test til Sunday, I know I will before then as I have zero willpower!

Cleozeta · 26/09/2018 13:50

I understand that one Monday! I wasn'g going to test early either, but caved as temps were looking so good. To be honest I think I did quite well holding out until 11dpo!

Jenbot78 · 26/09/2018 16:50

Ladies, thanks for the welcome! Crivit, how did you make the decision to go on Progesterone? I have often wondered if I have low progesterone as I have Hashimotos so Oestrogen dominance is a bit of a thing for many with this.

AFM, struggling with TTC again. Had such a long journey to get DD1 and now feel like I am back in the trenches. Wonder how enjoying life is compatible with TTC to be honest. Especially at this age when you feel like you need to be doing EVERYTHING in your power to get pregnant.

Anyone cracked to relax (supposedly good for TTC) whilst also doing everything in your power to get pregnant? Answers on a postcard please...

crivit · 26/09/2018 16:52

Correction time - not 300mg DHEA, but 150mg. I think I wrote 300mg as I take 3 tablets a day, like the ubiquinol, however the DHEA are 50mg a tablet slaps forehead

crivit · 26/09/2018 17:04

@Jenbot78 - the decision to try progesterone took a while, umm'd and ahh'd a lot. I had my day 21 tests done earlier in the year and my progesterone was a little low (around 25 with 30+ being preferred apparently). GP wasn't too worried, consultant a bit more so. I was originally going to wait to speak to another professional about it but the NHS isn't the quickest, we can't afford private at the moment and I'm getting older by the second Smile. Waited until I had been on the DHEA for a month or two, had a HSG last cycle and hoping that those combined with everything else plus the progesterone will have the (much) desired effect.

Heaven knows on the relaxing thing though! Had a tough time at work the last couple of years and ended up resigning over the summer. Now I don't have that stress but more money stress instead plus the feelings of failure about both the work situation and TTC and oodles of other stuff.

I don't even drink so I can't even occasionally drown my sorrows in vodka sigh

Still, I'm trying to cheer myself up by cleaning the bathroom. God I need to get out more Grin

Cleozeta · 26/09/2018 17:27

My progesterone was low too, came in at 28.4, which NHS GP claimed was normal but after much research I now know it's low. But funding for fertility in our area is zero so I think they brush most thing over. Anyway, I purchased some progesterone cream just not used it yet....

crivit · 26/09/2018 17:47

Yep, seems that way @Cleozeta I know I'm not eligible for IVF on the NHS which I understand and am ok with but accuracy is still important. On the one hand it's nice to have a reassuring GP (and they are lovely tbf) but on the other, I don't want to think things are fine when actually I could probably use a bit of assistance?

Which cream did you get and where from?

Cleozeta · 26/09/2018 18:08

Yeah my gp is nice too, but I just think they are not funded for anything fertility. When I had my high fsh reading I was told it was borderline, where after much research it was clearly high (18.4). I would rather know the truth, but I think they have to make out its ok as there is nothing they can do.

I got the serenity cream from wellsprings too

Rose68 · 26/09/2018 21:58

Hi Ladies
Would I be able to join?
I am 43 and ttc #3, we have 2 boys who are 9 & 6. We have only been properly trying for 2 months (plus a couple of months of no contraception). It has taken me a while to talk DH into trying for #3.
I’m not holding out much hope 😞

Chatbash72 · 26/09/2018 22:30

Welcome @Rose68 x

Presh12345 · 27/09/2018 03:48

Well AF due today and got nothing but a BFN on a FRER. Will just wait now. 😓

Rose68 · 27/09/2018 11:38

My AF came yesterday, a day late. I was so excited and dashed out to buy FRER in the morning only to get a BFN, shortly followed by AF. Gutted. 😩

Dinah99 · 27/09/2018 13:10

Thanks for info @crivit &@Cleozeta, sorry for bfn @Rose68 it's always gutting, and more so with a late AF... x

Presh12345 · 27/09/2018 14:00

Didn't have to wait long. She's here. 😓

mondaycando1 · 27/09/2018 14:13

11dpo and cracked the tests I wasn't going to until Sunday - until I took a picture to use your eyes I was convinced I could see a feint line but the camera says no and now I look again I think it's right. Oh well.

Rose68 · 27/09/2018 16:27

Sounds promising Monday? I will keep my fingers crossed for you.
Could I ask about DHEA.... I have been reading some of the previous posts and I’m confused whether it’s a good or bad thing? Should I be taking it? I am already taking quite a lot 🙄

mondaycando1 · 27/09/2018 18:43

Of course, even though I've had more than 1 pregnancy so should know this stuff, I am now googling early symptoms like a crazy woman. Coupled with running away with thoughts right through to the fear of being 50 at the first day at school and the fear expressions of ridicule I am sure we'll get if this is it, I should just be locked up now.

BooseysMom · 27/09/2018 19:34

Warm Welcomes to @Jenbot78 and @Rose68 ..sorry about AF Rose
Good luck @CritterTamer
@crivit.. sorry to hear you're having a crap time. I also use cleaning to cheer myself up!! Hope things improve soon.

I think it was Dinah who mentioned having strange stuff before AF. I have this before and after when it stops for a day then returns. AF likes to torture me as nowadays she's always a slow starter with sticky brown stuff..sorry tmi. then starts getting heavier. I think it must be an age thing

Talking about vits I take folic but also have started taking vit C with zinc but not every day. On the tub it says don't take if ttc! Does anyone else take?
