So ladies I have an update, I had a brown blood bleed, really minor and I'm 8DPO. So potentially implantation bleed or another menopause sign :)

mondaycando1 · 27/09/2018 21:37

weasledee sending optimistic vibes

Cleozeta · 28/09/2018 09:14

fingers crossed weasle!

Has anyone ever considered, researched or done IUI? Would it be worthwhile??

On another note, been having problems posting on here since yesterday, doesn't seem to work on my phone any more, have had to log into a computer to do it, which isn't always accessable, love mumsnet but the technology is not the best!!

Russkispy · 28/09/2018 10:08

@Cleozeta , this is my post on here from last month:
I had IUI back at home after 5 months natural TTC #1. I got inpatient and went for IUI on my 6th cycle. I had acupuncture every 2 weeks and took supplements and ate all iron rich foods. My fertility doctor suggested IVF and I declined. Told her I wanted IUI first. And my acupuncturist told me my body was ready for implantation and sustaining pregnancy. We just needed this little nudge and felt IUI was the right option. I took Clomid cd5-9 days, had a scan on cd10. Had 2 dominant follicles around 15mm. Took one more clomid pill, then ovitrelle trigger and IUI was on CD13. And 2 weeks later it was BFP! My DD is 15 months next week.
Again we had IUI this May after trying since January. Also had a polyp removal and endometrial scratch in March. Waited 1 cycle and our IUI was in May. Same protocol as above but didn't respond to Clomid well. 2 follicles were only 11mm on cd10. So I had to inject Gonal for 2 days and my follicles grew to 21 and 22mm respectively. Ovitrelle trigger and IUI. 2 weeks later was BFP but sadly it was a missed miscarriage at 8weeks. Pregnancy stopped at 6. I'm now on cycle #2 post MC. I'm having acupuncture every week by the Chinese specialist. Drinking herbs by ferility herbalist. Taking supplements. And recently started reflexology. Throwing everything in! At whatever cost! Currently around 14dpo but not testing. Time will tell. If naturally won't happen I always have a plan B (IUI) and/or IVF. Whatever it takes!

Russkispy · 28/09/2018 10:11

@Cleozeta , I was 40 when had my first IUI. DD is 15 months now. And I had my second IUI this May and I was 42 (43 next April).

Russkispy · 28/09/2018 11:58

AF just turned up. It's crap but not giving up. Might go for IUI next cycle.

mondaycando1 · 28/09/2018 15:21

Nothing on this morning's test so thinking I am done for this cycle. One more them he's in for the snip as I'll just be too old then.

Pelican1980 · 28/09/2018 16:16

Sorry - I've just posted this as a thread but then thought this might be a better place to ask...

Has anyone ever taken Cassanovum to help with ovulation and egg production? I am 39 and about to start TCC and obvs aiming to do so quickly as time is of the essence.

I know it is also 'supposed' to increase egg production and chances of twins. There are loads of positive reviews on Amazon but no idea if these are fakes.

Basically - is Cassanovum a crock of shit or does it actually help?

Cleozeta · 28/09/2018 16:34

Russkispy - thanks for info, that's really interesting. Loving the fact that it worked for you twice, maybe it's something I'll look into now. I am also doing chinese herbs & accupuncture, 3 weeks in to that, so hopefully that'll help.
AF came yesterday and I'm worried I'm getting nowhere and rapidly running out of time, so want to look into other options now.
What are the processes? will they need to do all the checks first or just dive into it?? And what can they do if hubby can't 'perform' on tap? I'm so interested in the idea of this but kind of too scared to actually start anything, if you know what I mean. But I also fear going in natural now is wasting time that I don't have.

Monday - sorry to hear you got a bfn. It's so disheartening isn't it

Pelican - interestingly I've never even heard of cassanovum. Which is weird as I've heard of/tried pretty much everything else! Will be interested in any responses from people who know more too.

Ameliel · 28/09/2018 16:44

Fingers crossed Weasledee, welcome Rose68!
I had hard time too, trying to convince my DH to go for the no4 , but now he's fully on board and very ahem...enthusiastic! Grin
I had acupuncture yesterday for the first time. It was really relaxing, I nearly fell asleep! Even if it doesn't help to balance my hormones, it will be nice to have some me-time as I'm so manicly busy at the moment. So far I've not noticed any effects, but obviously it will take a course of treatments before I can except any results.
Off to have a mini break* < sans kids* >next week, it's DH's special birthday treat Smile.. hopefully we'll get plenty of practice in!

Not that I'm expecting anything right now, my temperatures are still all over the place... day23 since the implant removal.

Can you tell me what is DHEA and Ubiquinol you have mentioned in the past? Is anyone taking Angus castus? The acupuncturist recommended dong quai (?) but at Holland &Barrett they said it has been unlicensed!?

Russkispy · 28/09/2018 16:52

@Cleozeta , I ad my IUIs abroad. We had to do blood tests first. I believe it's every 6 months. Then I had an internal scan/exam. And then she came up with a protocol for IUI and the rest I described in my previous post. It was really nice and easy. After the every IUI, I was given progesterone tablets and other supplements to support potential pregnancy. And I was taken them till I was 12 weeks then gradually was coming off of them. (In my first pregnancy). I had the best care and after care from the clinic.

I'm not sure how IUI is done here and what the first steps are. I believe, blood tests are done first. I was considering to get it done at the London clinic at some point but didn't feel right with them.
I've now made a decision and booked my next IUI back home. I already have Clomid here which I'll be taking from CD5 through to CD9.and if I respond well, IUI will be performed on CD13. I've booked a scan on CD11 to see the progress. Flying next weekend.

mondaycando1 · 28/09/2018 18:47

What's worse about the bfn is I feel nauseous, full on pre-af boobs, headache and back ache. Does pms get worse as you age?!

Cleozeta · 28/09/2018 18:54

Wow that was quick russkispy! Good luck! Let us know how you get on.

Ameliel - not sure about dhea but ubiquinol is supposed to be good for egg quality. And angus cactus is supposed to be good for rebalancing hormones, I took it for a while the cycle before last. I've no idea if these things actually do anything!

Cleozeta · 28/09/2018 18:56

Monday I think it does, but also as we are ttc we are more aware of symptoms that might normally pass us by, and sadly many pms symptoms are very similar to pregnancy

Cleozeta · 28/09/2018 18:57

I've been convinced Im pregnant almost every month for the last 18 months or so. And each month its new symptoms that cannot be explained away. Grrr

Rose68 · 28/09/2018 19:57

Pelican - Sorry I haven’t heard of Cassanovum, but I’m off to google it now, and most probably order it on Prime, to add to the multitude of pills I am already popping 😂

littlemimosa · 28/09/2018 20:15

Hello ladies, sorry for the recent bfns after the recent flurry of bfps. It’s so frustrating isn’t it when you feel time is running out.
Welcome to all newbies too.
Not much to report here. Still not ttc but getting back to it soon. So in the meantime here’s my current list of supplements:
B complex (includes folic acid)
Evening primrose alternating days with cod liver oil.
Ubiquinol
Royal jelly (a new one for me, I read that it is great for fertility especially if you lack oestrogen which I think I do)
Vitamin E.
I’ve sworn off all actual herbs for now. AC and Maca have messed with my cycle in the past I think.
I also go to reflexology twice a month.
Anyone else on Royal Jelly other than Cleo?

Rose68 · 28/09/2018 20:37

Yes, I am taking Royal Jelly x

Russkispy · 28/09/2018 20:42

Thanks @Cleozeta. My clinic has been on "stand by" since MC in June. And now I'm ready to go! Will keep you posted.

weasledee · 28/09/2018 20:56

Wow, I think I'm lacking in the supplement department! Smile I'm only taking Morrisons own pregnancy vitamins!!!! Grin

Dinah99 · 28/09/2018 21:02

@littlemimosa I'm on royal jelly, but I'm rethinking it now because I spot during last week before AF, and I think if it increases Estrogen that's not necessarily a good thing for me (if spotting is down to low progesterone) God it's so confusing!! I've just booked for fertility acupuncture, it worked for Geri Halliwell at 44 she conceived naturally after several failed rounds of IVF, good enough for ginger spice? Good enough for me Wink x

Rose68 · 28/09/2018 21:32

I got my progesterone results today.... 51.5 nmol/l..... I have been googling it and I think it seems okay, not that I have any understanding of progesterone levels.

karryk · 29/09/2018 07:26

Morning ladies Smile officially in the tww here as of today. Sit and wait!

Good luck @Russkispy Wink fingers crossed for you x

Rose68 · 29/09/2018 13:47

I just ordered the cassanovum Grin

Rose68 · 29/09/2018 13:49

Might be a bit late for this cycle though, looks like it should be taken from cd1 Hmm
