Chat, can't yet as still spotting from af. Did an opk today and stark white so nothing yet anyway. Hopefully something will happen this cycle.

Congrats cookie! Looks pretty positive to me! Maybe the 'taking things easy' is the winning approach. I do wonder if we hold ourselves up sometimes by getting too caught up in the whole thing.

Sorry af arrived mellon. Always a bummer.

Orchid222 · 11/07/2018 22:08

Sorry about AF Mellon.
Cookie congrats, exciting! I had a faint line like that at 12 dpo and got a much stronger one 2 days later. Do you have any symptoms?

How long have u been trying etc...? Smile

Chatbash72 · 11/07/2018 22:37

Just watched the National trust thingy this eve, The marchioness of Londonderry was 43 when she had her last child a surprise and that was in 1921.... no drs to tell her "what did she think she was doing!"

CookieWaffle · 11/07/2018 22:58

Thanks ladies :) will be testing again to be sure! Am 40 and have been broody since mid 20s. I've watched all my friends get married and had kids and it's really been tough. Took me a long time to find a lovely man who was finally ready for the next step this year. I've been app tracking the past couple months, persuaded doc to do blood tests which proved I was ovulating and have some hormones going on. We only managed one go this month 3 days before ovulation. This was month 4.

I've had sore boobs (not unusual), achy back (not unusual) and weird cramps all week which I put down to wind or IBS but have been worse today, but nothing else. I totally thought I was out this month. Tears are definitely gonna flow when the test gets darker!

CookieWaffle · 11/07/2018 23:10

I know I've not been trying long but this has had such an effect on my life. I stupidly set myself deadlines. I was upset at 30, distraught by 40 and thought by now I'm too old and too fat. My mum spent years trying for me which added to my anxiety. I ended up on tablets to try and calm myself down but I had a reaction to them. I really hope this is it.

Cleozeta · 11/07/2018 23:38

Fingers crossed for you cookie

Leezo · 12/07/2018 00:18

Hey ladies so I am pretty new to this so please bear with me!
I am currently 39 (40 in February) and am having a '40 and childless' freakout. Usual story, met prince carming later in life and we're both desperate for babies! Have been ttc for 8 months, fell 4 months in and had a mmc at 10 weeks, 3 weeks after seeing our beans hb (bubba only measured 6 weeks 4 days at confirmatory mc scan). We ttc straight after the bleeding stopped ( about 8 days after mc), made sure we were getting negatives then sure enough a bfp exactly 4 weeks after our original mc. Unfortunately I started to bleed 3 days later and had what the doctors refer to as a chemical pregnancy (hate that term!). DH wants to wait a few months before trying again but i have the age thing constantly in the back of my head that we're running out of time. Sorry for super long post I just kinda want to get chatting with people in a similar situation. My body is also decided to play cruel tricks with me as I think I'm getting phantom pregnancy symptoms (heavy boobs, hungrier, irritable) and there's little chance of another pregnancy as I am only on cd18 since my chemical pregnancy and only bd once on cd7! People keep saying at least you can get pregnant but it is of no consolation to me when i keep losing the pregnancies Sad

mellongoose · 12/07/2018 06:40

Welcome @Leezo. I'm sorry you're having a tough time. I'm lucky not to have suffered losses (that I know of) but others on here have. I'm sure they will be able to offer loads of support and advice.

From me I say, please don't let that 40 number act as any kind of barrier. It's just a number. Your body won't be different the day after your birthday. Fingers crossed for you Smile

littlemimosa · 12/07/2018 07:35

Cookie congratulations! So good to see a line on here.

Leezo I agree with mellongoose. You can’t let the number 40 send you into a panic. Listening to your body is so much more important than any statistics that society and doctors tell you. I am reading the Fertile Heart website and her books at the moment which are all about this and they are calming me down about my age. Recommended reading for sure.

Cleozeta · 12/07/2018 07:53

Welcome leezo.

I'm sorry you are going through all this. I also had a mmc in May at 10 weeks, baby also only measured 6+4 and I had seen a heartbeat. It's completely heartbreaking.

You are only 39 and do still have time on your hand, keep trying and you will catch that golden egg. I understand why you would not want to wait a fee months before trying again. It's the time panic, but it's also the need to feel pregnant again after the loss. Have you tried talking to your oh about how you feel?

Try not to panic, you do still have time and you will get there

Leezo · 12/07/2018 13:33

Thanks girls. I think the hardest thing for us all is not to let it consume our lives. When you desperately want a child all you see are pregnant women, ads for baby products, cute clothes in shops etc. I used to be so calm and collected and now my anger is going off the scale! I constantly find myself judging other parents! In my rational moments I feel dreadful for doing it but then when I'm in the 'baby zone' I can be such a cow! I wish you ladies all the luck in the world and may motherhood find us all Smile

Dickybow321 · 12/07/2018 14:26

So pleased to see a BFP on here cookie, congratulations! Grin

Orchid222 · 12/07/2018 15:49

Welcome Leezo, I agree with other ladies, there's still time and it will happen. Sadly, mc's are common even amongst 20 somethings so it's not necessarily age thing. These women then go ahead and have normal, problem free pregnancies so I'm sure it will happen for you too, just try not to overthink the age thing and relax.
Cookie-did you test this morning? Is it getting darker?

Chatbash72 · 12/07/2018 16:04

Welcome Leezo so sorry for your loses.. it does seem that everywhere there are bumps and babies.. you are not alone with your thoughts re this..
hope you find some comfort and helpful advice here... can heartily recommend yogayin on you tube.. fertility workouts that are very calming..
@CookieWaffle did you do another test??
Day 4 of new cycle and seem to be awash with ewcm... could be post af or early egg drop... best get busy later to be on safe side

CookieWaffle · 12/07/2018 16:05

Thanks @Dickybow321! gonna check again to be sure as it's still very faint!

I definitely know how you feel @Leezo, apart from the loss as this is literally my first time. I've had such panics about it being too late and time is ticking. However I know several people who had kids in their 40s including in my family. I've also got family members who can't have kids and that's been really heartbreaking for them and I'm glad I still had the chance (if this works out I don't even know how to tell them about mine). After I hit 40 I was devastated, but my mum always says what will be will be and I tried to think of all the good things I already have, while of course still hoping for that one thing I wanted.

CookieWaffle · 12/07/2018 16:07

@Chatbash72 here's the ones I've done so far! They look better once they've dried out a bit! Will still be trying tomorrow.

I properly feel rubbish today, cramps are annoying, back is killing and I feel really rough and sicky. Great start!

Over 40 ttc - summer baby dust for me!
Orchid222 · 12/07/2018 16:15

They seem to be getting darker Cookie, fingers crossed! I'd test again tomorrow morning and maybe Sat morning to make sure but looking good.

OP posts:
Leezo · 12/07/2018 16:42

@Cookiewaffle they definitely seem to be getting darker - it's a positively horrific wait but I like to leave 2 clear days in between testing and test with first morning wee only. You see a more dramatic visual difference between tests and saves the 'is it darker isn't it' scenario. From what I see it looks good though!

weasledee · 12/07/2018 16:47

Looks good cookie!

Still no period here! Now 3 days late, this has never happened before. Obviously worried about the big M but also googling people who got pregnant and never had a positive test 🙄

Orchid222 · 12/07/2018 16:54

Are you still getting negatives Weasle?

OP posts:
weasledee · 12/07/2018 17:02

Haven't tested today but had a negative frer 2 days ago and a negative internet cheapie yesterday......

littlemimosa · 12/07/2018 18:31

Cookie - that looks so promising. I don’t think they’re particularly feint for 12/13dpo. Get your feet up and think positive thoughts.

I’m now CD45! And not a hint of anything. I’m doing my yogayin, eating well, meditating and trying to generally de-stress but still nothing. Weasel - I’m with you on the menopause worries!!

BooseysMom · 12/07/2018 19:04

Wow Cookie. .those are def faint bfp's! Great news. .we needed it on here.
Welcome Leezo. I'm 46 and had my ds at 40..just 3 months shy of 41..and the saying "life begins at 40" was completely true for us! We'd had 2 mc's previous to this and had given up ttc as i just was resigned to thinking it was too late for us. Then after 12 weeks of not realising we found out we were expecting ds!! Gobsmacked we were! Been trying for no.2 for about 3 years but it looks like it's just the one for us..unless i do a Sharon Marshall!
Good luck xx

Leezo · 12/07/2018 19:15

@Booseysmum i am sorry for your losses. It is great to know that there was someone else where I am with good news. I wish you all the luck in the world for number 2 just do a Sharon!!. They say if you still have a period there's still a chance so keep going girl! I am so glad I joined this group I feel more positive already! Can someone help me out with this fertility yoga? Has anyone a link they can post? Have we any good news stories that people have attributed to it? I will try anything! I am only on folic acid, the doc has referred me on to gynae because of the mc's but didn't really elaborate on any other supplements that I should be taking. I'm a non smoker who enjoys a wee drink but not whilst during the tww! My BMI is probably higher than it should be but I eat well and exercise. Any other advice will be truly welcomed!xxx
