Hi everyone hope people had good weekends.?
Sorry your AF arrived @Chatbash72, as you say though, at least it's coming regularly which is a good sign for keeping trying.
@CritterTamer - so sorry you had such a crappy day last week with the useless consultant and the bees - I hope your weekend improved? I also hope your DH has apologised to you for being so insensitive, it's hard for them too, but it's nothing compared to what we go through. My last BFP (albeit an eventual mc) I was convinced it hadn't worked, so was feeling really negative, so I don't believe negative feelings change the outcome at all.
I think @Cleozeta asked me about supplements and if IVF consultant had advice - tbh the answer is not much - they basically told me that ubiquinol will do no harm, and so they said it's good to take as some evidence it an help (for me, I believe it works as I took it before my 3rd cycle having not done so for the previous 2 and I had my most successful cycle).
DHEA is something to be careful with and is more appropriate to people with low ovarian reserve (shown by low AMH) and so they didn't recommend it for me. Other than that they said a healthy diet and a decent multi- vitamin including Folic Acid.
As far as I know @Chatbash72 Ubiquinol doesn't mess up your cycle - I know some other supplements can tho, so I think that's why they aren't routinely recommended.
AFM - I'm frustrated as my DH has done his back in and therefore is def not up for 'trying' this month... I am not sure if I'm close to ovulating yet or not, but had much in the way of signs and haven't been peeing on sticks as there's not much point if I know we can't do anything about it Sad.
So I need a miracle cure for back pain and some luck! X

weasledee · 09/07/2018 10:03

Morning, AF due tomorrow and negative tests......

So I was wondering if any of you have gone private for initial tests? What can they test for? Also how much did it cost? Smile

Chatbash72 · 09/07/2018 10:08

@Hobbes39 CoQ10 or Ubiquinol?

Cleozeta · 09/07/2018 10:15

Hobbes, thanks for info on suppliments, I think ubiquinol is the universally advised one for egg health, so I'll keep taking that. Have stopped royal jelly but I don't know if it was helping or not. I wish we had a xray into our bodies to see what the hell was going on, and clearer ideas of whay helps and what doesnt. These things need more research!

Hobbes as for your dh bad back. I'd be telling him to grin and bear it! Ha! There must be ways to dtd where he doesnt need to move his back. Get creative Wink

Weasle I have been considering that too, will be interested answers on this

Hobbes39 · 09/07/2018 10:25

@Chatbash72 - I take 200mg of ubiquinol - I believe it's better than COQ10 as more easily absorbed?

Hobbes39 · 09/07/2018 10:29

And @Cleozeta - I would, but it's back and hip and he's in a lot of pain so no chance at the mo...! ☹️

Chatbash72 · 09/07/2018 10:50

@Hobbes39 thank you.. have seen Holland and Barrett do them.. or is online purchase a better way to go?

hmmm123 · 09/07/2018 10:58

I'm out too! Af just arrived .. also away from dh during next months fertile days so looks like it's August for next attempt 😩

mellongoose · 09/07/2018 13:48

I'm currently in the tww although I'm not holding out much hope as we were barely in the same place at the same time during ovulation!

We dtd a couple of days prior to ewcm then again the day after it had finished. I might be lucky but we've dtd at exactly the right time previously and nothing!!

Our lives are a bit crazy at the moment as well. We got married recently and go on our honeymoon soon. Amongst all that we've got money stresses (don't ask). If I were a viable egg 🥚 I would prefer to stay inside this month Hmm

AF is due Friday ish. I'll keep you posted.

Orchid222 · 09/07/2018 14:10

Sorry about AF Hmmm and hte next month. Hopefully the wait will be worth it and your perfect egg will be released in Aug :)
Mellon-that's exciting, congrats on your marriage! A honeymoon sounds like a perfect opportunity for baby making! :) As for timing I know we always dtd a the right time and still have nothing to show for it so timing is, unfortunately, only a part of it, I do think the egg quality is the most important bit.

Hi All, thank you for all the positive wishes and thoughts, when I woke this morning I had a very light pink/red period, I phone called into the GP this afternoon and got the receptionist, she said the results came back as 'Normal Satisfactory' she was about to hang up and I asked if there was a number associated with the result and she stared reading however the results come in, and said..something along the lines of ...

nada nada nada, blah blah blah Normal Satisfactory, Not Pregnant. Is that okay? to which I just said Okay Thank you and hung up.

Think I will make an appointment with GP for later this week and hopefully ask whats going on. If of course they can tell me. I don't really want to wait much longer and think I'll go down the IVF route asap, but do I need to wait until I get a proper period?

A bit upset and perplexed and my poor mum called as soon as it hit 13.05pm to find out as she had been praying all morning for a positive! I stupidly let slip to my dad last night too as he keep asking why I was feeling unwell and I said I was okay just waiting for results from Dr today! (Grandparent in waiting are more invested and excited to become grandparents than I think I am to have children and thats saying something!)

Just confused confused confused! and Sad

littlemimosa · 09/07/2018 16:40

Chat and Hmmmm - so sorry AF arrived, I have no words other than to say we're all here feeling your pain.

Let's - same to you hun.

Weasel - sorry for BFN too:-( no i've not been for any private tests, only NHS.

Cleo- CD 42 and nothing. The hot flashes eased off a few days ago and I started to feel a few aches in my ovary area so i got a bit excited but now hot flashes are back and nothing again. My plan is to do nothing really! I just cannot face doctors and their negative comments and any sort of treatment right now. I guess my plan is to trust that something will happen and hope that my body will sort itself out. I've been reading loads on the fertileheart website, her book 'inconceivable' and have now ordered her other book 'fertile female'. It's spoken to me a lot and I'm trying some of the visualisations and imagery. I'm fed up of constantly trying new things and hoping they'll work. I'm trying to face up to some fears I've got and some emotional baggage i'm carrying around. I went to a therapist the other day and it felt good to get it all out and we identified some guilt and stuff I've been feeling.

Sorry to waffle on. As you can see i'm doing lots of thinking right now and not much else lol.

BooseysMom · 09/07/2018 17:51

Ah Lets, i'm so sorry about what the receptionist said. I only wish i could have given you more to go..if i had done my own tests at home then i would have known what was going on sooner. So i'm sorry if i gave you false hope. Maybe still there is hope as i know it can take a while to show on a test.

Chat .. sorry about AF getting you.

Orchid .. I'm about to start my 2ww and i was supposed to dtd last night but i failed miserably. Just too hot and tired.

Mellon. Congratulations on your marriage. Like you we've managed to dtd once 3 days ago before the ewcm and i vowed to dtd every other day. Got crampy pain now and alot of quite runny mucus (sorry tmi!!) so reckon i should have dtd before today and I've missed it now. I get so much mucus for ages i just can never tell when ov is. Feeling very tetchy and tired too but the heat doesn't help.

Cleozeta · 09/07/2018 18:08

Sorry you didn't get what you were hoping for lets. I hate that whole 'normal / satisfactory' thing. It's such a wide range for most tests that it could mean anything. And a lot of results I've had that came back 'normal' were far from it wjen I did my own research using the actual result numbers that I requested from them.

Mimosa that sounds so stressful, glad you are able to talk to someone about it, I'm sure that will help. Fingers crossed your body will sort itself out soon and get you back on track

Chatbash72 · 09/07/2018 20:43

Letsdothis42 so sorry, but your parents make me smile, hang onto their enthusiasm my parents show little to no Interest in my little ones, didn't with my big ones but my mother is all over my sisters baby like a rash.. breaks me sometimes..
hmmm123 af is shit sorry she arrived for you today too..
I think I did have another m/c walked the school run this afternoon and it nearly finished me off.. was doubled up in tears on my bed with such contraction like pain.. I was having to breathe through them.. hormones out for count have sobbed all day.. will try and pull myself together but am having a crap day..
can you ladies recommend a good make but not ridiculous price of Ubiquinol.. ??? Might give this a go
Congratulations mellongoose xx

Hobbes39 · 09/07/2018 21:15

@Chatbash72 - I got mine from amazon - just make sure it's ubiquinol not ubiquinone. It varies which one is best value... I also heard that the stuff labelled 'kaneka' is meant to be the best. I've got 100mg ones, and take 2 a day now.

Hobbes39 · 09/07/2018 21:16

Sorry, just read the first part of your post - I'm sorry you've had such a shit dayThanks x

Chatbash72 · 09/07/2018 21:24

Hobbes39 thank you... what is it about this month.. it has been pants for all of us....

Chatbash72 · 09/07/2018 21:29

@Hobbes39 is 200mgs the recommendation dose?

Cleozeta · 09/07/2018 21:46

Chat that does sound like a really crap day. You are right it's been a pretty shit month for all of us I think!
It must be pre payment for an awsome month with loads of bfp's in July/Aug

I used to get by ubiquinol from woods suppliments, 100mgs, they regularly have offers on, like 3 for 2. I've just moved over to solgar ubiquinol from ebay, more expensive but I get 200mg capsules.

I'm going on holiday to spain in 2 weeks, do you reckon its ok to fly with suppliments? Would security be picky? I'll probably only take ubiquinol, b complex and pre conceptions. Maybe wheatgrass capsules

Orchid222 · 09/07/2018 22:25

Lets-really sorry about the test, I think we were all hoping for different news.
Chat-sorry about your day too. I get my ubiquinol on amazon and mine is 300mg, funnily enough I now looked and it says Amazon's choice, I'm guessing because it's good value as it's 90 softgels for £32.99.
Cleo I really hope you're right and our awesome month is coming up :) I wouldn't think you'll have any problems with your supplements, why would you? People travel with medication/vitamins/supplements all the time.

OP posts:
Chatbash72 · 09/07/2018 23:00

@Cleozeta I'd keep them in their bottle/container then they can see exactly what you are carrying.. but yes my in laws must rattle when they fly as they are on so many things
All but one of my babies are spring and onwards babies.. so I have conceived from now onwards with previous pregs... maybe I need the vit d... looming nephews arrival isn't helping.. but we are away for due date so thankfully can ease myself into the hoopla xx

Cleozeta · 10/07/2018 00:45

Thanks thats good to know. I've never flown with suppliments before and I know they can be picky about a lot of things! I guess I can put them in the hold?

Chat - I have only ever conceived in spring, so hope I'm not out now until next spring!! All my babies were winter babies,
DS was born in November, DD in January, and the one I lost would have been December.

Orchid222 · 10/07/2018 09:23

Cleo come to think of it I've flown with supplements a few times now both within the EU and outside and had them in both carry on and checked in luggage without any problems.
