A thread for all those who have suffered the loss of a much wanted baby. Affectionately know as the penguin huddle.

We'll start with a roll call as there have been so many new members lately and so many success stories that I think we've all lost track.

HidCat
Age 35
TTC #2
DS 5
MC at 11wks in January
Cycle 3 post MC, trying since August 2017

@yellowdaffodils86 sending virtual hand holding for this morning. I've got everything crossed for you. Xx

HidCat · 21/06/2018 07:18

@strawberrye no marathons here (though I try). Figure if I try most nights it won't matter if we miss a couple and I don't get shirty with OH if he's not up for it. DTD CD 11,13 and 16 so should cover it, tried CD15 but hubby was too tired lol.

@Boboelephant hope you're doing ok and stepping back is helping.

Good luck to everyone testing today. I had a slight temp increase this morning so counting today as 1DPO. Going to try to avoid buying any FRERs so I can resist the temptation to test early. Just looking at old patterns and I think I have a 15 / 16 day luteal phase. I don't think it makes a difference in terms of testing but would explain why it felt like forever for my period to show up after ovulation.

@Boboelephant Thank you! You're amazing and I really hope you have a successful month soon. I can feel which side I ovulate from so I know sometimes 3 months in a row will be the same side and then it switches. So maybe you just need to keep at it and not give up. Try DTD every other day too like someone else suggested recently. Keeping everything crossed for you! Xx

RedRobin7 · 21/06/2018 07:27

Okay so I've finally seen that BFP on a digital so I'm going to start believing it. That makes me 4 weeks today. I am sooo bloody terrified. I had a MMC at 12 weeks after seeing the baby with a heartbeat at 8 weeks so I don't think it's possible to relax. We told family on the day we found out last time but this time I think we will wait until 8 or 12 weeks. I know statistically the odds are in my favour but so many people on here have had more than one MC so it's hard to be hopeful. Thankfully I have a counselling session today so we can discuss it.

Thank you all so much for your support. You've really got me through some very dark days. I'll keep checking in here as I want to know how you're all doing! Good luck ladies, baby dust to you all Xx

HidCat · 21/06/2018 07:31

@RedRobin7 congratulations! I'm sure this one will stick for you but I'll be exactly the same when the time comes. Keeping everything crossed that this is your rainbow baby.

Newbie21 · 21/06/2018 07:42

@RedRobin7 fantastic news. I hope it all goes smoothly. Keep us posted and stay positive and although you will be nervous for quite some time try to enjoy it.

KnitKitty · 21/06/2018 08:04

RedRobin7 congratulations! I really hope this is your rainbow baby tucking in nice and warm and safe. Your BPF is especially meaningful to me as we shared our journey after MMC so closely. Yours and Jessabean's support has been invaluable to me. I am so happy for you, and I know it's going to be hard for you to be happy yet too, but try not to let what happened before tarnish your excitement about this pregnancy. Let yourself hope and be excited, enjoy it if you can! I'm really pleased you're still accessing the counselling. Hope it helps. Please keep in touch. (PM me if you don't want to post on here). And remember we're all here for support if you need. We know that pregnancy after MC isn't the joyful experience everyone assumes you have when you get that BFP, so stick around if you need to! Hugs!!!

YellowDaffodils86 Any updates on your situation?

Hidcat good luck with your TTW. Fingers crossed for you! That is a long time to have to wait! Good idea not having any sticks in the house to pee on.

Boboelephant · 21/06/2018 08:10

@hayleyfx thankyou and I'm so glad your scan went well. 😀
@Strawberrye aww thankyou. What lovely words. That's really made me smile xxx @Lilimum4 and @zarala thankyou!!! That's so sweet xx
@zarala I do think it probably contributed for awhile yes but my ectopic was now 19 months ago so do feel like I have processed it. Therapy, meditation etc... I'll look into the cranial massage though. I was told recently that my energy was excellent do just a matter of time maybe.
@KnitKitty yes I do think i probably ovulate more from the missing tube side. Would love any tips to stimulate the other side if anyone knows any!? Glad you sorted things with DH. Maybe a visit to gp to check ovary?
@YellowDaffodils86 thinking of you today! 🤞
Thanks @HidCat and RedRobin7. Glad you've seen the digital @Red!!
@charlyn and @dreaminofholidays welcome and sorry for your losses.

zarala · 21/06/2018 08:26

Welcome to @charlyn and @dreaminofholidays and sorry you find yourselves here

@HidCat welcome to the tww! Fx it passes quickly and there's a little bean waiting for you at the other side!

@RedRobin7 yay! Congrats! Having 1 MC is very common so statistically it is very likely that you will have a healthy continuing pregnancy ! I know it seems like there are a lot of us here with 2+ but I just think these forums have a higher incidence of us because we seek the solace! But I totally understand your fears! Hoping you reach the 12 week mark quickly and smoothly and have a healthy happy baby in your arms in February! 💕

@Boboelephant Have you tried arvigo therapy - Mayan abdominal massage - I think that is supposed to help regulate ovulation - I also tried that after my last MC- it was very relaxing and the lady I saw was amazing. She told me she helps a lot women who have issues conceiving- if you're near London I can give you her details.

So I'm dpo9 today
My chart isn't looking hopeful 😐
It's my first chart ever and i only started temping on cd11 so maybe it's not that accurate?
But I haven't seen much of a temp rise at all!
I am getting cramps all over my belly now so wondering whether it's just AF preparing! Cd24 now- my periods have ranged from 25-30 since last MC.
I was so tempted to POAS this morning but I'll wait for tomorrow.

Boboelephant · 21/06/2018 08:27

@DaisyMay25 am I right in that you are also testing today? 🤞🤞

DaisyMay25 · 21/06/2018 09:18

@Boboelephant bfn on ic, using frer tomorrow in honour of poas Friday! I'm not hopeful though, AF is due Monday.

Laney79 · 21/06/2018 11:21

@Boboelephant have you given reflexology a go? When I was diagnosed with the MMC a friend suggested it to try and help the process along naturally. My body was uber stubborn as you guys know, so it didn't work for me, but there are some reflexologists who specialise in fertility (mine is one of them-she had 4 MC's herself).

If nothing else it's very relaxing xxx

Jessabean · 21/06/2018 12:15

Hi everyone

Apologies I've not been on for a while- was trying to make the most of my last couple days of holiday and trying to get my head in the right place for coming g back to work.

I've missed so much!

@RedRobin7 congratulations 🎉I am so happy for you! Feels like just yesterday we were trying to deal with the aftermath of our MMCs and makes me feel so positive about things seeing things moving along well for you. Please do keep in touch. As @KnitKitty said pregnancy post miscarriage is a scary place at times. I know my last pregnancy the whole first trimester was a bit of mental battle between hope and worry but there is every chance that things will go well. As you say statistics are in your favour and if you look at old TTC post miscarriage boards the overwhelming likelihood is that all of us will eventually get that healthy baby & there is absolutely nothing to say you won't be holding this little bean in 8 months time! Sending you lots of healthy bean baby dust & am here anytime you need to chat.

@Murderino & @rdm10 Also likewise congratulations guys! 🎉 Likewise please do keep in touch and let us know how you're getting on. Here for you guys too!

@hayleyfx so glad your scan went well- not long to go now of dreaded "worst/first" trimester!

@Boboelephant I'm so sorry for you that last month wasn't your month. I echo what everyone else has been saying about how your such a lovely supportive person to the rest of us and so just want it to be your time. I wish I could give some advice but I think so much of this is due to chance sometimes -it definitely seems you are doing so much and everything right already. If it does help I'm throwing any mental baby dust I have your way though!

@KnitKitty how are you getting on? Have things sorted themselves out cycle wise for you now?

@DaisyMay25 good luck! Fingers crossed 🤞

Also welcome any newbies!

I'm still waiting for my OH to come back so I can jump him/on the TTC wagon- hoping he might come back in time for July cycle ovulation - will just have to see! 🤷‍♀️
In the meantime trying to think about how to physically and mentally manage TTC with the shit tone of work stress that's going to be coming my way over the next 4 months! 🙈

Boboelephant · 21/06/2018 12:29

Thanks @zarala. I remember you talking about arvigo therapy a while back. Yep I'll give anything a try and I am in London so would appreciate her details. Don't worry too much about your chart. My last two have looked super promising and clearly have not led to anything so you just never know! How are the steroids going?
@Laney79 I haven't tried it but have been meaning too. Started googling it yesterday actually! Thought as acupuncture hasn't been successful maybe I'd give reflexology a go.
@DaisyMay25 sorry for the bfn. Hope it's a nice line tonorrow!
I feel really out of sync with everyone. So many people in tww!

Boboelephant · 21/06/2018 12:32

Thanks @Jessabean xx Hope return to work is not too painful!

Laney79 · 21/06/2018 12:46

@Boboelephant I really enjoyed it, and it feels a bit more scientific than some therapies. Make sure you find one trained in fertility-my lady is lovely and has had specific training for fertility/pregnancy/miscarriage. I'm going to keep going. It's £28 a session for me (and that's a good hour)

GPS76 · 21/06/2018 12:55

@DaisyMay25 my AF is due Monday as well, I've POAS in Amazon cheapies with bfn but too scared to do it early on the real tests, as I've never POAS early before AF was due. What do you mean by ic? Fx for you tomorrow, you're brave to test early xx

zarala · 21/06/2018 12:56

Hi @Boboelephant
So the lady is called Christine I saw has a place near Warren Street- her website is www.lightofre.com
If you contact her by email she's quite fast as responding

Luckily I haven't really had any side effects on the roids!
Slightly hungrier than usual (maybe!) but I have a voracious appetite anyway- so not really felt a difference- I'm just actively trying to be more conscious about how much I eat as the main side effect is putting on weight.
I've been quite emotional- but again could be hormones! (But those tender age cages were too much for me 😡)
But no hairs growing on my chin or acne or fits of rage! So hooray! So far so good!
Today's my last day on them (unless BFP tomorrow) until next ovulation!

Thanks for asking tho- for now I don't need to change my name 😎

Boboelephant · 21/06/2018 13:20

Thanks @Laney79. I'll defi look in to it. 😀 That's a great price. I'm guessing you're not in London?
@zarala thanks hun! Will contact her! Oh I know...i was in hospital the morning after my ectopic surgery when it was announced that Trump won. I felt like it wasn't just my world that had come crashing down at that point. It's so inhumane. 🙁
I'm so glad zaralaroid has stayed away and no beard! 😂

Maydot · 21/06/2018 13:56

Hey everyone!... Congrats to all the BFPs, I love hearing your good news and fx to everyone still waiting xx
I’m about 2 dpo I think. Not too hopeful this month but as it’s my first cycle i’m not too worried. My OH and I have agreed that I don’t tell him when it’s my FW and we just DTD as normal, he hates the pressure so he’d hate it if we were only doing it to make a baby.
So i’m Officially in the TWW 😊

lolacola13 · 21/06/2018 14:01

@Maydot hey twin! I'm 2 dpo also and my partner also doesn't want to know when I'm fertile because of the pressure lol. Fingers crossed for us!!

Maydot · 21/06/2018 14:20

@lolacola13 Ha ha!!... We really are twins!! Did you manage to get much in during your FW??

hayleyfx · 21/06/2018 14:33

@Boboelephant thank you hun!

@JessaBean thank you 😊 I’m counting down the days haha!

Fingers crossed for everyone testing soon 🤞

DaisyMay25 · 21/06/2018 14:45

@GPS76 ic is internet cheapies, I use one step ones off amazon. I can't resist, I have zero will power I think tomorrow I'll be 13dpo so if it's a bfn on frer I know it's not my month.
Really hoping next month will be the one though as it'd put dye date in April and mine and DHs birthday are both in April!

DaisyMay25 · 21/06/2018 14:46

@Boboelephant I hope so but not hopeful. Luckily for me I ovulate early in my cycle so I'll be in the tww again before I know it. Where are you in your cycle?
