Some people seem to have quite short surges and others stay positive for a couple of days. If you're closer to that, you probably don't need to worry about perfecting you peeing in a packet skills 😂

Goostacean · 19/06/2018 02:33

Hi everyone, I was pointed in this direction on another thread. I hope you don’t mind me joining :)

My baby is nearly 5 months old and despite being very un-maternal both before and during my pregnancy, I adore him and want another ASAP! 😂 The problem is... well, there are a few. Had an EMCS so advised to wait at least 18 months (well, 13 by now) before getting pregnant again. I’d like to get my pre-pregnancy shape/weight/fitness/health back, for the longer term benefits as well as for my MH! And for various reasons I’m only going back to work when LO will be 15 months old, and really ought to actually work at the company a bit longer before taking another maternity leave! (Was only there 15 months before this mat leave started.) I’m in a stressful corporate role and managed to get promoted off the back of the work I did when pregnant (yay!) so have kept up with my cohort, but when I go back I’ll be a year “behind” and would like to do what I can to maintain/develop my career there. But the hormones are strooong and whisper so enticingly in my ear...

So all in all, (definitely) waiting to TTC. I remembered that the doctors said 1 year to 18 months and was trying to persuade myself 1 year would be fine... but it literally goes against all 3 points above and I suspect in the longer term I would regret it... Been really interesting to read through everyone’s stories! Sorry for the essay... 😊

Rapunzel91 · 20/06/2018 13:39

Just wanted to do a quick post and say I had my coil removed today!! I’m so thrilled! I was really nervous as I got really bad cramps and threw up when I had the coil inserted and was scared the same would happen now. But it was so quick and no cramps at all! The doctor also said there’s a chance I could get pregnant if I’ve had sex in the last week (which I have) and I would ideally want to have one more period before officially trying 🙈
What will be will be and I’m just so happy to be one step closer now 😊 wishing everyone else an amazing day on our waiting to TTC journey!

NoseringGirl · 20/06/2018 14:03

That's so exciting @Rapunzel91! Glad the removal went well and hope you get that BFP soon!

cupcakesandglitter · 20/06/2018 16:14

Hi @Goostacean - when do you think you'll start TTC? X

Omg @Rapunzel91 yaaaay! Are you excited?!!! Sending lots of baby dust your way regardless!!

Can I ask a really gross question? Does anyone else have stomach 'issues' around ovulation?

Apologies in advance for TMI, but for the last few days I've had a bit of a bad stomach. Not awful but noticeably different. Today I head to the loo and put the pieces together when I spotted EWCM. Having checked my app, it was the same last month as well!

I'm in no pain but just a bit looser than usual..

mussie · 20/06/2018 17:51

@Rapunzel91 that's so great, good luck waiting for your last period before TTC!!

@dottydally for me I usually get that when I'm on my period, but not linked to ovulation. I wonder if it's linked to hormones then?

Goostacean · 20/06/2018 17:53

@cupcakesandglitter - not sure... Really it should be next August (ie 2019) at the earliest, based on doctors’ advice... not sure I can wait that long though!

Am currently an expat in Argentina and life is easy, everything is so relaxed as I’m not working. Would be so lovely to do the first trimester out here, rather than in my stressful job in London... Tempted to start TTC in Jan, but starting work in April again and I feel like it’s a bit ridiculous go back pregnant AGAIN...

What about you? I’ve slightly lost track of everyone’s details in the thread! 😊

@rapunzel91 Good luck!!! Very exciting 😁

Goostacean · 20/06/2018 17:54

Oh, @dottydally, same as mussie - I get that just before my period. Never noticed it with ovulation, but will make a mental note to see...

NoseringGirl · 20/06/2018 18:34

@dottydally I read something about that the other day, I can't remember where now (obviously spend too much time reading about TTC Blush) but a few people were saying that they experienced it!

dottydally · 20/06/2018 18:48

@NoseringGirl I will do some reading!

I'm actually really relieved. Last months long cycle freaked me out a bit but I seem to be on track for 28-30 days which is good. I was only 5/6 days late last time but it felt like an eternity waiting Sad

rollerskaterdata · 20/06/2018 19:49

welcome @Goostacean Smile

@dotty, I also get that around ovulation. I notice EWCM especially after a bowel movement as it's normally mixed in (ok that really was gross and TMI but had no other way of describing it, sorry ladies!). I'm Oving within the next day or two as I've had ECWM the last 3 days which for once is in line with what my app Flo is saying, so looks like I might be back on track with a regular 28 day cycle. Only time will tell...either way now that OH has got a great job lined up for September and we're actively house hunting, it's really hard not to jump on him now and start making another baby! Ahhhh....only 2 months to go Sad

cupcakesandglitter · 20/06/2018 20:36

@rollerskaterdata I'm with you on the two month countdown! Any more luck with house viewings? X

@dottydally I have IBS so sometimes it's a bit unreliable anyway 😂 but, I'm the last few days mine have been loose too, and a lot more frequent than I'd like to admit 😂 I'm in London and have run out of OPKs (didn't pack enough) so I'm assuming i was ovulating in the last few days.... but like others have said, around AF is when it usually hits me. I'm going to keep an eye out for next month actually, it'll be interesting if it's a hormone thing

@Goostacean oh god that's quite a while away 😂 tbh, if you still qualify for mat pay when you go back, I don't see what the issue is... you'd still have a few months working there! And who doesn't want their first trimester to be stress free?! I can start TTC after AF in August - which looks like it'll be around the first Ish week or so (on my bloody anniversary too) but I'll be able to qualify for good mat pay, so I suppose it's worth the wait! X

OP posts:
Goostacean · 20/06/2018 20:49

Well, that’s a good point... for various boring long-winded reasons, I don’t think I’d actually qualify for the pay, if I went back pregnant. Hmm. I don’t know about the leave. Luckily we don’t need to worry too much about that- we would be fine on my husband’s salary, but that’s not the point! #independentwoman and all that 😁

Very envious of you ladies who only have two months to wait! So are most people coming off the pill/implant etc and tracking periods/ovulation in advance, just to get an idea of timings before starting to TTC?

cupcakesandglitter · 20/06/2018 20:53

Oh fair enough! TBH if we could live comfortably off just DH's salary I'd like to think I would've been pregnant by now 😂 I think so! I came off the pill in August, briefly TTC, then stopped, but my cycles have only just started calming down, took half a year for them to settle back down!

Ladies this may be gross but I'm struggling to put this into my app atm - I feel 'wet', I've just checked and it's clear and a little tacky, but with how I can feel it coming out this is so bloody gross it doesn't feel sticky? I don't know what's going on 😂

OP posts:
Goostacean · 20/06/2018 20:55

Ooh... that’s a very... Vivid description 😅

6 months?? What were you using, if you don’t mind me asking? I’ve got the implant currently so will be quite an active choice to get it removed. Was on mini pill before, so no idea how my body will react.

cupcakesandglitter · 20/06/2018 21:02

@Goostacean it's a vile description, but I had no nice way of putting it 😂😂

So I had the implant from Feb-August, and then I went on the POP pill for a couple of weeks in August, just as it was our anniversary.

Ive been on the same pill before and I had no issues at all settling back - but this time I didn't have a period between aug- Oct, and then it was 40 day cycle/14 day cycle consecutively 😅 the last two months I've been around 32 I think? So finally feeling a bit better about it!

OP posts:
Goostacean · 20/06/2018 21:05

Okay, good to know. I’d naively assumed that I’d get that implant whipped out and be good to go! Food for thought. Anyway, I’ll stop hogging the thread now 😁

rollerskaterdata · 20/06/2018 21:23

@cupcakes, it's going! Got some more house viewings this weekend so fx we find something! As to the 'wet' feeling, I get that too and it's usually when I have an abundance of EWCM (like now!). So I take it as a good sign even if it is a bit gross (p.s. your description was nowhere near as gross as mine so you're good!)

@Goostacean, I had the copper coil in since Summer 2015 and had it taken out beginning of May this year. Had a long cycle last month (33 days) which is unusual but I put it down to my body adjusting to the coil removal because this cycle feels 'normal' like how they were before (signs of ov now at day 13 rather than in a weeks time!) so think my body has now adjusted. But I (think!) because it's hormone free it doesn't take as long for your body to go back to normal compared to hormonal contraceptives maybe?

NoseringGirl · 20/06/2018 21:23

Which app are you using @cupcakesandglitter? What are you CM options? Grin
Maybe something like 'watery' or 'sticky'?
I completely lost my filter for talking about these things after TTC, being pregnant with and birthing DS1. No shame left!

cupcakesandglitter · 21/06/2018 00:43

@rollerskaterdata ooh exciting! Do you have a better idea of what you're looking for? And 😂😂 I'm going to take it as a positive!

I'm in London this week and have done looooooads of walking - I just want to up and move here (not that I could ever afford it) but honestly some of the houses here are incredible!!!

@NoseringGirl I use flo! There's watery/sticky/egg white and unusual 😂 I'm on the loo now haha! It's watery 🙃 I'm just going to stop with the description now 😂😂😂😂

OP posts:
Rapunzel91 · 21/06/2018 06:41

Thank you everyone😊 I’m so excited but also feel strangely calm, it’s difficult to explain but feel like my body’s in control and all I can do is just wait and whatever happens happens? Lol, not sure that’s how I’m going to feel when I’m officially trying and waiting for that BFP/AF 😂

@dotty I think I’m the same when it comes to loose bowels and ovulation. I’m not 100% sure but I definitely get ovulation pains and there’s definitely changes around that time of month. The things us women have to go through!

rollerskaterdata · 21/06/2018 20:22

@cupcakes, yes we do, we're now firmly looking in the South West (so expensive!) but have no choice because DH's new job is there and we've checked, where we were looking before is too long a commute to this new job. Still it's just about affordable so taking a deep breath and making the dive! ps. I use Flo too Smile

@Rapunzel I get ov pains too, I know I ovulated today as I've had EWCM the past few days and today I was feeling very distinct and sharp pain from my right ovary! You're right, the things we have to go through! Really trying hard not to jump DH right now knowing I'm in my fertile window!

AssumeItWasSomethingClever · 21/06/2018 21:30

Sorry to just blurt this out but not really sure how to ease into it. 😂
I rarely get EWCM. Since coming off the pill, I’ve only noticed it once. Does anyone know why this might be or how to increase it?
Natural cycles has said that I’ve ovulated every month, so it shouldn’t be that.

cupcakesandglitter · 22/06/2018 00:27

@rollerskaterdata ooh brill! It is expensive but if you can afford it then why not! So beautiful - and it'll all be worth it! X

@AssumeItWasSomethingClever I am completely with you!! I actually don't think I've seen EWCM since I've come off contraception now that you mention it 🧐 I'm not sure how to increase it (maybe a diet thing?) but I think when mine is watery I'm ovulating - not every woman has EWCM when they're ovulating if that helps! X
