@PastaSauceHoarder I'm worried about giving a specific location in case I out myself, I'm sorry! But it was lovely and hot, our first couples holiday in years so we really enjoyed ourselves! Being reunited with DS was the sweetest thing too!

@Jelliestogether sorry if already mentioned, but have you tested? Sometimes AF just likes playing with us though, cruel!

@dotty if you still get negative tests by the weekend and AF is a no show, you can do one (or both) of 2 things - get a pregnancy scan and / or a blood test at your GP. Blood tests pick up smaller amounts of HCG than urine tests so should be able to detect pregnancy with a fair amount of accuracy. A scan will also give you a peep inside so you can see what's going on! X

Eurgh sorry posted twice as first try failed apparently!

Oh and @PastaSauceHoarder I've used Groupon many a time to book hotel stays, all of my experiences have been positive 🙂

PastaSauceHoarder · 20/08/2018 10:20

Sorry you're feeling a bit rubbish today, @dottydally. Flowers But yes if you still get a negative on the weekend then I would go for a blood test - at least then if its negative then you'll definitely know and can move on from it.

@Jelliestogether at least if its last minute it should be cheaper! Anywhere in particular you fancy going?

Ooh @Youcandothis365, we went to the Dominican last April! Really hot and all the staff were lovely. Smile Are you going all inclusive?

Ah thats really good to hear, @rollerskaterdata! I spotted a little overnighter that looks really lovely near Christmas and a hotel stay is going really cheap on Groupon at the mo.
Glad to hear you had a good holiday though!

Barker26 · 20/08/2018 11:08

@youcandothis365 the dominican is amazing! We went last year! What hotel are you staying at?

dottydally · 20/08/2018 12:07

@rollerskaterdata @PastaSauceHoarder thank you - if nothing by Friday I'll call the doctors. It'll be a week or so before I get an appointment anyway so AF has plenty of time! Really gross but I just rushed to the toilet as I felt really 'wet' (cringing) and thought she must have arrived. But no, just the usual.

@Jelliestogether when might you test?

AssumeItWasSomethingClever · 20/08/2018 13:14

@dottydally Sorry, I meant I was 6/7 weeks pregnant when I found out. I was about 2.5 weeks late when I tested positive. There was literally nothing on the test line in my negative test on the Wednesday morning but then by the Saturday there was a really strong line. I had planned to go to the doctors the following week if AF hadn't arrived so I'd give it another week. Test again mid week and then at the weekend then booked yourself in if tests are negative and AF hasn't arrived. I feel for you! Being stuck in this limbo is awful xx

dottydally · 20/08/2018 15:45

What are the amazon strip tests like? I will end up spending a fortune otherwise!

AssumeItWasSomethingClever · 20/08/2018 16:49

I used Ovaview sensitive early results from amazon. They were only £6 for 6 and although they probably weren't as sensitive as they'd like to make out, they worked and we're really cheap. They were also really easy to use and felt more "proper" than just the strip ones x

AngeloMysterioso · 20/08/2018 17:54

Can I join you ladies? My DH and I are hoping to start TTC in the next few weeks months. I came off the pill a while ago so my cycles are now pretty regular, using Clue to track them and have booked a Drs appt this Friday for a check up, but other than that to be honest I don't have any idea what I ought to be doing so any advice would be gratefully received!

Pinkroseuk · 20/08/2018 18:41

@dottydally are you feeling any better now?

Thanks @Jelliestogether and @dottydally trying to remain positive- just stewed some of my plums and done 15 mins without stopping in the exercise bike - did give in at lunch to some leftover sandwiches that were having about but hopefully still on target!

Just about to sit down to the slow cooked spag Bol- hubby is cooking the pasta to help out!

Welcome @AngeloMysterioso - we all seem to be learning from each other on here so don't worry - I'm still learning everyday!

PastaSauceHoarder · 20/08/2018 18:45

Hi there, @AngeloMysterioso! A lot of us don't know what we're doing so don't worry. Smile I'm sure by the end of all this we'll all be experts in TTC!
Have you been tracking your ovulation? That tends to be a good start on this confusing journey!

AngeloMysterioso · 20/08/2018 18:53

@PastaSauceHoarder aside from knowing vaguely when it is on Clue? Not really sure how to go about it. Complete novice at this TTC game.

DH and I have agreed to pull the goalie on my next cycle,Grin according to Clue and FF CD1 is this Thursday, which unfortunately means fertile week starts on my birthday- will have to try not to drink too much!

Apparently my Dr will tell me to take prenatal vitamins, could anyone recommend some?

rollerskaterdata · 20/08/2018 19:26

Hi @AngeloMysterioso 🙂 will you be TTC from Thursday then? How exciting! Hubby and I take pregnacare his and hers preconception vitamins and have been since beginning of May as we heard that taking them for 3 months before trying helps to build the vitamins up in your body. Of course no worries if you haven't taken them for this long, I didn't know I was pregnant with DS for a few weeks and only started taking them when I found out - he's a healthy, happy 3 year old!

Jelliestogether · 20/08/2018 20:29

@rollerskaterdata @dottydally nope not tested yet. Think I'll wait at least until the weekend as my periods have for the last year been irregular so I don't want to get my hopes up for something that is probably nothing. It's just having the slightest hope that's a killer!

@assume did you get any symptoms before or after you tested?

Haha I'm hoping for a bargain holiday but not sure it'll go that way! Might even book a day or two before! 😶

AngeloMysterioso · 20/08/2018 20:51

@rollerskaterdata no, I meant AF starts Thursday, so we'll be pulling the goalie just shy of two weeks from now Blush

Barker26 · 20/08/2018 21:20

Guys getting so broody even just reading this thread !!! Part of me just want to TTC straight away but i would be 3 months preg for new york and 7 for Athens? Issue or not ? IF we are lucky to stick on first go ! I have been using my fitbit to track ovulation (anybody else noticed this new feature???) And i am ovulating today apparently! Grin one of the lads at work had his 20 week scan today including gender scan and omg you couldnt stop me cooing over it!!

Goostacean · 20/08/2018 21:32

Ahhh I wouldn’t risk it for NYC, if it’s a once in a lifetime trip, I’m afraid... although I know that’s not what you wanted to hear! I was SO tired in my first trimester, literally in bed before 9pm, up after 7am and still shattered. It was the waking up three times a night to pee that got me! Obviously everyone is different, but...!

PastaSauceHoarder · 20/08/2018 22:27

Oh dear I agree with @Goostacean I'm afraid, @Barker26 which again is probably not what you want to hear! ☹ But that first trimester can be so tough, I was constantly falling asleep in between shifts when I was pregnant. And I know not everyone has the same symptoms but I was SO SICK all the way through until around 16 weeks! 😣 Getting on a plane and having a busy few days would have been absolute hell for me at that time.
I get the feeling broody part though, its a bloody powerful feeling isn't it - its so hard to push it to the back of your mind!

Also fitbits track ovulation?? How accurate is it? Hmm, may just look into picking one up for myself...

rollerskaterdata · 20/08/2018 22:52

@Barker26 I'm afraid I have to agree, my first trimester was filled with tiredness and sickness. I had hyperemesis gravidarum and couldn't go to work for 2 months! It was bad lol! Also, how do you track Ov using the Fitbit?? I have one so keen to know!

cupcakesandglitter · 20/08/2018 22:56

Sorry to pop up so unrelated, but I'm feeling super emotional. I went to the gym for the first time in at least two years, and tried to push myself as hard as I could.

It's all thanks to you lot, you've really motivated me, and finally got me off my arse properly - so nice to have a group supporting women. love to you all xxxxx

Oh @cupcakesandglitter bless you, I hope you're not in too much pain! Flowers How about a nice hot bath to ease the aches and pains, would that help?

cupcakesandglitter · 20/08/2018 23:51
