Hello again! Hopefully I've remembered everyone - apologies if I haven't, get tagging!

This makes me feel sooooooooooo much better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought it was just me; my friends look at me like I have 2 heads when I mention that I spent an hour (or 3) looking at prams!

cupcakesandglitter · 23/08/2018 10:22

@dottydally I've not picked the exact one yet, but I know I want a long white one, I've seen it somewhere when browsing a loooooong time ago, I don't remember where 😩 I gave up with not buying clothes, I couldn't not do it, I think buying a couple of things made the last couple of months of waiting go a little quicker for me. Felt like we were doing something 😂😂😂

How are you going to do names? Are you and DH going to decide? I know some people pick one and then their partner will choose the other xx

cupcakesandglitter · 23/08/2018 10:23

Oh and I also want a frilly white Moses basket, similar to the one I had as a baby. I have lost the plot 😂 x

PastaSauceHoarder · 23/08/2018 10:39

Yessss, baby talk! Let me grab a chair and join in! 😂
What sort of clothes have you all bought? I haven't bought any new ones for future-child-number-2 but I have a couple of unisex items saved that my toddler didn't get round to wearing. Though I still eye up plenty of stuff - Boots mini club have loads of newborn clothes in mint green and they look so precious!!
I'll DEFINITELY be getting a Next2Me bed side crib @dottydally, from the day my toddler was born she absolutely hated sleeping anywhere other than my arms - she still co-sleeps with us during the night now! I think the cribs with the sides down make it look like they're in bed with you, right?

I am also guilty of sneakily looking at double buggies and already have a baby name picked out (if I have a boy). Wink

springsummerautumnwinter · 23/08/2018 10:59

Love all of the baby talk. I love this side by side crib but our bed is 1 inch to tall! Haven't brought any baby cloths yet but it is definitely tempting. I love tiny baby's in all white baby grows, so will be easy to get. My DM and DMIL are desperate for us to have children, I wouldn't be surprised if they have got a few baby bits already Grin.

I stopped taking contraceptive pill last Monday and waiting for the first withdrawal bleed. Also phasing myself off migraine medication as not known if it is safe to take while pregnant.

5 month wait for me! Feels like a long time but hopefully Christmas then wedding will help make it go quicker.

springsummerautumnwinter · 23/08/2018 11:00

ASSUME best of luck for the scan. So excited for you and your partner.

rollerskaterdata · 23/08/2018 11:17

Ooooo pulling up a chair too! I'm definitely getting a next to me crib as well, and already have a name for a boy and a girl too! 😂 I've got lists and spreadsheets galore!

cupcakesandglitter · 23/08/2018 11:18

@PastaSauceHoarder I have a couple of unisex bits, but I also bought an outfit for each! I couldn't help myself 😭😭😭😭😭

@springsummerautumnwinter omg I LOVE THAT!!

OP posts:
dottydally · 23/08/2018 12:28

@Youcandothis365 you are one step ahead of me, I can't even tell my friends I'm looking at prams! They all think I find kids loud/annoying/yucky if only they knew. It comes from the fact I've played along when they discuss kids as they are all single and still at home.

@cupcakesandglitter I like the snuzpod. I will need to look at sizes though as I am avoiding a Moses basket as I have heard babies grow out of them super quickly?

We have talked about names. They would be ones we both agree on and we wouldn't tell anyone before the baby is born. We also don't want to know the gender!

@PastaSauceHoarder yes! Come and join us. I would like to breastfeed (if I can) so thought a next to me crib would be helpful. There is plenty of space around the bed ( I may have measured).

Exciting re the name! You don't have to share it with us but are of course more than welcome to.

@springsummerautumnwinter When are you ttc? Sounds similar to me!

@rollerskaterdata Shall we all sit round the table with a coffee? And fruit. Because we are all being healthy and it is unacceptable to drink wine at 12 on a Thursday.

springsummerautumnwinter · 23/08/2018 12:55

We am waiting until after our wedding in January. Glad I wont be the only one left waiting.

We have a boys name sorted but are finding it tricky with girls names. I am a guide leader so find girls names tricky. As I have already got strong associations with lots of names, especially the cheeky onesWink. Thinking maybe Erin at the moment. I also love Millie but my sisters has an Emily and it seams to similar.

cupcakesandglitter · 23/08/2018 13:08

@dottydally you're right, they do outgrow them super quickly but I'd only buy a cheap one (hopefully I will get the chance to reuse it one day) - I'd love to join you on the wine!! If I get a BFN this month, I'll definitely be treating myself to a bottle glass of wine

@springsummerautumnwinter I love the name Erin!! That'll be lovely x

OP posts:
PastaSauceHoarder · 23/08/2018 13:37

Those are cute names, @springsummerautumnwinter! Smile I haven't got a clue with girls names either - I've already used my all-time favourite on my daughter so anything else doesn't seem as special to me!
I absolutely LOVE the name Juliet, but my toddler is named Violet and they don't go well together (two 'et' sounds). I kind of really like Elizabeth too, though husband isn't keen.

I don't mind sharing my boy name, @dottydally! I'd call him Jonah. Smile I'm really hoping I have a little Jonah one day.

Yes one of those cribs would be ideal for breastfeeding! Another reason I want one.

rollerskaterdata · 23/08/2018 13:48

@dottydally ohh yes, we are all being incredibly healthy right now! She says while stuffing her face 😂

@cupcakesandglitter and some soft cheeses and deli meats too if I get a BFN this month!

@springsummerautumnwinter I love the name Erin, how beautiful! Also love the name Jonah @PastaSauceHoarder!

I'm also looking for the perfect sling at the moment, didn't use one with DS but wish I had, will deffo be using one with DC2!

Goostacean · 23/08/2018 14:38

Aw, some lovely names! I am oddly superstitious about buying baby stuff in advance- the whole family was banned from getting anything before the 20 week scan! (Although pretty sure our mums secretly ignored me though!).

I am ALL OVER the baby names boards though... DS is the fourth generation of firstborn sons with the same name, so we didn’t really have a choice. I mean, technically we did but everyone would have been disappointed- and it’s lovely to be part of a century-old tradition! But because it’s from DH’s side, that means I get full power over DC2’s name. Mwahahaha! 😂

RandomUsernameHere · 23/08/2018 14:54

@Goostacean I'm superstitious like you! Didn't buy stuff until really last minute with DD and DS 😂

Goostacean · 23/08/2018 15:55

I think I’d be more relaxed next time around, but first time I was so determined not to get attached in case something happened...

Names don’t count though, right?! ;) My husband wants Anna Valentina for a girl but I don’t like it much... and we need names that work in English, Russian and Spanish, so it’s a bit of a challenge to find a suitable alternative! Love looking for inspiration.

PastaSauceHoarder · 23/08/2018 16:13

I like Anna @Goostacean, its simple but pretty and feminine. What names do you like? Smile

See I think I'll be more wary with my next pregnancy... I don't want to tell anyone in real life (other than my parents and in laws) until I'm about sixteen weeks and preferably I know the gender! I 'announced' my pregnancy with my daughter at only ten weeks, after my first scan.

dottydally · 23/08/2018 16:33

@springsummerautumnwinter we will be here waiting together, I'm pleased I won't be alone! It is awful when people you know ruin names for you! I used to like Charlotte but I think it'll be too common now there is a princess Charlotte.

@cupcakesandglitter when will you test? Needless to say AF arrived here and I am both disappointed and relieved. I have been a huge sulk though, more disappointed than I thought I would be.

@PastaSauceHoarder Violet is such a pretty name! How did you announce your pregnancy?

@Goostacean I think I'm going to be really nervous. We have a friend who has lost 3 before 12 weeks but it's the one that lost theirs at 35 weeks which freaks me out the most. I feel like I would like to be a little more naive and unaware of these things as I risk being a nervous wreck!

PastaSauceHoarder · 23/08/2018 16:50

You're allowed to sulk and feel disappointed @dottydally, I'm sorry its hit you harder than you thought. At the very least you know now you're not stuck in limbo anymore. Big hugs. Flowers

Thank you, I named her after my grandmother so its quite a special name to us. Smile I'm afraid I'm a Facebook announcer so I put it on there once we saw her heartbeat and knew everything was okay! We got some beautiful messages from everyone though which I've printed off and put in my pregnancy scrapbook so I'm glad I did.

Oh your poor friends, I can't possibly imagine. Sad One of my closest friends had a missed miscarriage that she found out about at her 12 week scan and that was horrible.

starkid · 23/08/2018 16:50

Just joining you all to say I'm TTC 1st baby from next month, but have been obsessed with everything baby for maybe a year. I've got loads of bookmarks on my computer and word documents detailing pros and cons of different cribs/nappies/prams etc. and love nothing better than browsing the baby names threads or watching newborn routines on Youtube.

My DH thinks I'm insane when I sneak over to the baby aisles in Asda, and he doesn't even know the half of it Grin

So definitely not alone! Definitely feel I'm tempting fate and it's going to take months/years to conceive (which may well happen anyway due to past surgery possibly affecting fertility), but I can't stop myself!

cupcakesandglitter · 23/08/2018 19:09

@dottydally I tested yesterday, BFN abut I completely expected that! I'm probably going to hold off testing until next week I think. I don't feel pregnant so I know I'll be a little disappointed but would rather just wait and see, instead of stressing out I think.

@starkid they won't understand Grin

OP posts:
PastaSauceHoarder · 23/08/2018 19:29

Welcome @starkid! We understand you here. Wink How exciting that you're ttc next month! Fingers crossed it doesn't take as long as you think.

Sorry to hear about your BFN @cupcakesandglitter, definitely best just waiting and seeing though. You're not out til AF comes!

cupcakesandglitter · 23/08/2018 19:59

So I'm out. Just been to the loo (first time in hours) and I had brown discharge which was odd. Wiped and there's blood so I think it's AF. Got massive painful cramping. Can't stop crying, signing off for tonight

OP posts:
PastaSauceHoarder · 23/08/2018 20:09

Oh @cupcakesandglitter, big big hugs. So sorry. Flowers

dottydally · 23/08/2018 20:16

@cupcakesandglitter sending love to you x
