Welcome @Youcandothis365! When are you off on holiday? It's a really nice idea to get away one last time as a couple before you have a little one!

RandomUsernameHere · 19/08/2018 19:36

Welcome @Barker26 and @Youcandothis365
Love how busy this tread is today!x

Barker26 · 19/08/2018 19:42

Hi fellow newbie youcandothis :) sounds like you're in the same boat as me with the holiday! The pork is an old slimming world recipe I used to follow! Which unfortunately means no crackling cries but basically take the fat off, chuck in and leave on low for as long as you like really! Then it just falls apart! Great to reheat for jacket potatoes, pork rolls etc etc! There was a bbq sauce to go with it which was lush! I'll see if I can dig out the recipe!

cupcakesandglitter · 19/08/2018 19:43

Thankyou @dottydally !! Xx

Here it is ladies

PastaSauceHoarder · 19/08/2018 19:45

Oh well @cupcakesandglitter, we'll have to dream out our holiday fantasies through these lot! Wink

@Barker26 all of those places sound amazing! 😣 Especially the Rockerfeller tree. Do you think you'll do a spot of ice skating?

Thats a good plan @dottydally, I'm doing the same. We have four little ones in our families all aged two and under so I'm getting their presents in now because they're the easiest!
Unfortunately we just don't have the spare funds to go away this year. We're buying a new family car soon so our money is going on that - currently have a three door so we're getting a five door instead (especially as we should hopefully have two car seats to put in the back next year!)

Hello @Youcandothis365! Baby fever is a hard one to shake I'm afraid. When are you going away? A big blow out holiday sounds brill!

Wow @Pinkroseuk, thats impressive! I bet they all taste so much nicer when you've grown them yourself.
How lovely that you're taking your mum away. We went to Devon a few years back during the summer and it was really nice there, I'd love to go back.

PastaSauceHoarder · 19/08/2018 19:46

Bloody hell, that was a long message. Sorry gang!

Pinkroseuk · 19/08/2018 19:53

Thanks for the recipes- going to give those a go :)

Yes t does always taste better @PastaSauceHoarder.
I find lettuce hasn't kept well this summer either so far easier pricking straight from
The garden than finding another wilted bag in the fridge!

Yes my DH is from Devon so we do go quite often for a walk on the beach :) my mum hasn't had a holiday for about 7 years as she's had two hip replacement and a knee operation so will be nice for her to get away for a few days - my dad will be staying home to look after the animals!

dottydally · 19/08/2018 19:53

@PastaSauceHoarder lots of little people in your family then! I have a goddaughter who is 3 and I love seeing how excited she gets for Christmas. It makes me excited to do the whole Christmas thing with my own child.

Holidays are expensive Sadbut exciting news about your car though! What are you looking at?

Barker26 · 19/08/2018 19:55

@pastasaucehoarder would love to ice skate but have heard rumours it's about 150 dollars! A bit much! If it's cheaper then definitely but i can go to my local garden centre in winter and pay a fiver to look like bambi Grin
Hopefully we might be able to conceive DC in New York which would be a nice story to tell (if we are lucky enough!)

TwittleBee · 19/08/2018 20:03

Oh yes recipe sharing! Love it! Always in need for inspiration. Yum.

Coming up to my fertile window. Must resist pestering DH 😂🙈

PastaSauceHoarder · 19/08/2018 20:05

Oh gosh @dottydally, I really don't know - something with wheels? 😂 Haha I don't have a single clue when it comes to cars, husband has been babbling excitedly about what he wants and I've just been nodding along and pretending to listen. I imagine thats how he feels when I'm talking to him about ovulating and tracking. Wink But he can have whatever he wants, it will be his car after all because I can't drive.

Your poor mum @Pinkroseuk, I bet she can't wait for her little holiday. Smile
Oh and I was going to ask you, how is all going with your MIL now?

Bloody hell @Barker26, really?! Shock Garden centre it is in that case then! Wink
How romantic would that be, conceiving a child somewhere lovely like New York city... Our daughter was conceived in my husbands old bedroom in his mums house. 🙄

Pinkroseuk · 19/08/2018 20:13

@PastaSauceHoarder we got a new car earlier this year in preparation for car seats too- I do most of the driving in our house but DH did most of the deciding about the car- I normally comment about the colour 😂

Ooh that does sound a bit pricey @Barker26 - maybe a garden centre is a better idea with a hot chocolate or something after :)

Thanks for asking @PastaSauceHoarder- we have heard nothing more from the MIL this week- she tends to do this- we can go 3-4 weeks with no contact then when she does it can be 6-10 times a day for a week!
DH has said we might pop down next weekend to see them before we go away but depend if there free - he's not keen for n seeing them really but we shall see-
I feel sorry for them in a way as they moved from Devon to be near there kids and none of them want to see them as there always such a pain- DH is now the closest at an hour - the others are in Isle of Wight and London (3-4 hours away).
We shall see - if any drama occurs next week you may all hear from me again!

Love how this post has had loads of comments today :) lovely to catch up with everyone

Pinkroseuk · 19/08/2018 20:31

Not sure what's with the bold font sorry!
DH was distracting me trying to catch a mouse the car has bought in! 😂

PastaSauceHoarder · 19/08/2018 20:43

Gosh that sounds like a tough one @Pinkroseuk, on one hand she sounds like a pain in the arse but then I guess you do have an obligation to still see her... Whats FIL like, is he any better? I hope your visit (if it goes ahead) goes smoothly and without drama!
Oh god, did he catch it?? I'm really not a fan of mice - my friend once had two that escaped and mated and she just let them and the babies run free IN HER FLAT. I was horrified. 😣

Pinkroseuk · 19/08/2018 20:48

Thanks @PastaSauceHoarder. FIL is lovely but goes along with what his wife says (for a quiet life!) he would much rather come over and see us more I think and help with jobs round the house than go for a long walk or cycle which MIL insists we do every time we see them!

Yes he got it and passed it to me to shove back into the fields! Ooh no that sounds horrible! I don't mind them outside but inside is a whole different kettle of fish!!

rollerskaterdata · 19/08/2018 21:20

Hi all, hope you don't mind me popping in to say hi! 🙂

Just got back from a week long holiday in Spain, already feeling post holiday depression LOL but it was a well needed break (although DH and I missed DS like crazy, we talked about him the whole time 😂)

Loving the recipe ideas, might have to make a few of them!

PastaSauceHoarder · 19/08/2018 23:12

Haha sounds like team work @Pinkroseuk, I'm glad you got that little mouse out! 🐀
A long walk or cycle ride every time you see your in laws sounds like hard work, but then again I'm not the most active person around. How are you doing with your work outs now?

Hi @rollerskaterdata, glad you had a nice holiday! Where abouts in Spain did you go? Was it just you and your husband?
I bet your little one can't wait to see you! Smile

On the topic of trips and holidays, has anyone on here ever booked a hotel stay with Groupon? Just wondering how reliable it is - I'm looking longingly at a way for us to grab a few cheap nights away somewhere. 😭😂

notabumpjusttoomanybiscuits · 19/08/2018 23:35

Hi everyone!

You're all making me jealous with your holiday talks. We're away in February to Center Parcs which I can't wait for but nothing glamorous like going abroad! I haven't actually been in a plane in years! Last time was when I was 18??

@Pinkroseuk Couldn't bare having a the cats bring in a mouse! My three are indoor only so don't get the same "treats" as you 😂

dottydally · 20/08/2018 05:55

Good morning all! The queasiness has subsided but I've still got a pounding head. I would ordinarily take the day off work but I've got back to back meetings and a lot of people that are coming in specially for the meetings. I've had 2 negative tests and think it's unlikely I'm pregnant but still possible.

I want to take some tablets to make me feel better but should I be avoiding ibuprofen just in case?

TwittleBee · 20/08/2018 06:21

dottydally morning! Sorry to read you're feeling rough and have to go to work. Sad and still negative tests. Tough time in limbo for you

Youcandothis365 · 20/08/2018 07:58

Morning everyone.

@dottydally we’re off to the Dominican Republic. I know I’m being a brat but a big part of me just doesn’t want to go!

@PastaSauceHoarder it’s the end of November, so not too long (although still driving me crazy)!

Jelliestogether · 20/08/2018 08:16

Wow this thread has been super busy over the weekend!! Loving the recipe sharing!! I'm always up to try new things.

Welcome all the newbies on here!

Sounds like others have some lovely holidays planned coming up! I'm still trying to book a cheap trip somewhere warm. Think it'll be a mega last minute booking at this rate (3 weeks until annual leave!)

@dottydally sorry to hear that. When are you next planning on testing?

@pink 5kg weight loss is still an amazing amount to loose! Don't put yourself down! You can do it! I read somewhere a big glass of water 30 mins before dinner can help you feel more satisfied. We all are willing you on! Sorry to hear you had to take more tablets to force AF

AF was a no show for me too this weekend. Haven't tested yet. Had some strange cramps/pulling sensation for the past week so not really sure what's going on.

AssumeItWasSomethingClever · 20/08/2018 08:28

@dottydally how late is AF? If you don't mind me asking. I didn't test positive until I was 6/7 weeks. Midwife says some people just have low HGC in the beginning. You ordinarily shouldn't take ibuprofen but paracetamol is okay. If you have to take ibuprofen, it shouldn't be harmful yet as baby isn't using it's placenta yet so it can't be passed through to baby.
Hope you're okay xx

dottydally · 20/08/2018 08:38

@TwittleBee I would love to hide away for the day! I have got one presentation to do which is just me but hopefully supported on everything else. I'll dose up!

@Youcandothis365 the Dominican sounds amazing. Just think about how lovely it will be to have a couples holiday. You're not bratty at all, we all know how frustrating it all is! That's why we are here to listen to you vent and keep you occupied.

@Jelliestogether I think the end of this week if nothing happens. I feel like I am desperate to test though. I've gotten over my worries about how rubbish it would be. I even looked over travel guidance to see if I could do both but they advise you don't travel.

@Pinkroseuk I second what @Jelliestogether said. 5kg is a massive amount to have lost and you ought to give yourself credit for that. Be kind to yourself!

@AssumeItWasSomethingClever 9 days now which is strange. Will be 2 weeks by the weekend. What do I do if it doesn't arrive but keep getting negative tests? 6/7 weeks is ages! Did you know before that or did you have to wait?
