No worries @PastaSauceHoarder - if my weights right there thinking of giving me one tablet to force my period and another to make me ovulate - they can't give me the one to ovulate untill I have a bmi under 30 though :/

@dottydally what did u buy? I have been getting lots of melon and strawberries recently :)

BusyBee27 · 03/08/2018 21:45

@Pasta: I guess it’s possible it was more diluted than optimum because of drinking more fluids in this hot weather ... I also did those two tests later in the day, so I guess that could affect the result too! So hard to tell!

Yep, period due sometime in next week - hope yours comes soon! I know things take a long time to settle down after coming off birth control sometimes, so try not to panic Flowers

@assume: I’m sure you’ll look beautiful in your wedding dress and no one will give a fig that you're pregnant - one of the many great things about living in the modern world! Oh and you haven’t mentioned this, but I just wanted to say don’t worry about not being able to drink either - I barely had a couple of sips of champagne on my wedding day because so many people wanted to talk to me or take me off for photos and I kept putting my drink down or giving it to someone to keep and never getting it back again! I still had a wondering time - I was just high on life rather than alcohol Grin

BusyBee27 · 03/08/2018 21:49

That should be wonderful time - damn autocorrect!

@Pink: you asked about home exercise machines I think, so I just wanted to say I’d recommend getting a cross trainer - good for full body fitness! And if you really want to go for it and you’re open to fitness dvds, then I recommend Jillian Morrison’s 30-day shred ... it’s a killer, but it gets the weight off! Good luck Smile

PastaSauceHoarder · 03/08/2018 22:17

Ohh thats right, I remember you saying now @Pinkroseuk. Hopefully your plan to lose the 20kg to start with is the way to go, maybe just take it pound by pound for now - at the end of the day losing any amount of weight is a nudge closer to your goal. Flowers
How long ago was your last period now? The female body is so bloody difficult. 😣

Ever since my baby girl has been eating proper solid foods we've had an endless amount of fruit in the house, and strawberries are her absolute favourites! We never used to buy fruit beforehand so its doing us some good too.

Thanks @BusyBee27, I just want some reassurance that my body is going back to normal! Although I'm a little unsure because I am actually still breastfeeding during the night and that could possible mess up my cycle somewhat... Only time will tell!
Are you having any signs or symptoms of your impending AF? I've sort of forgotten what they're like! Blush

Well the weekend is now here! Wink Whats everyone going to get up to?

dottydally · 03/08/2018 22:18

Woohoo! All finished and just shy of 900 calories burned. I won't be walking tomorrow!

@PastaSauceHoarder @Pinkroseuk I've decided to be realistic and admit I'm never giving up carbs, so I'm buying the right carbs (brown rice/pasta etc.) I have given up crisps and chocolate snacks though (I used to have a bag of crisps and a couple of 2 finger kit kats a day). Replacing them with bananas and rice cakes at the minute and not missing them. I still have the odd treat (like ice lollies!)

@Pinkroseuk I really like a TRX. There are so many exercises you can do on them and you make them as easy/hard as you want as it all works on using your own weight!

In other news, my thermometer arrived today! I won't start til Monday as it says to do it at the same time each day and I sleep in a bit on weekends, but I'm quite excited!

BusyBee27 · 03/08/2018 22:41

@Pasta yep, symptoms all present - spotty face, sore boobs, cramps, tiredness and so on - all fun stuff! Hmm

@dotty: well done, I’m in awe of your motivation in such hot weather (although maybe you’re somewhere different to me!) and I’m with you on the excitement about starting to chart - at least it will feel like I’m actually doing something other than waiting and hoping!

dottydally · 03/08/2018 22:47

@Pinkroseuk we are all rooting for you, you can do it! One pound at a time. What's your normal day like for food/exercise?

dottydally · 03/08/2018 22:49

@BusyBee27 ha I can assure you I'm in the UK (London) where it is currently 25 degrees at nearly 11pm! Once you start working you get so hot anyway you don't notice it so much.

I think it is that feeling of moving forward. We are not ttc yet but I am 'preparing' for when we do. I need something to occupy my mind that isn't baby stuff!

RandomUsernameHere · 04/08/2018 06:16

Well done @dottydally 900 cals is amazing!
@Pinkroseuk sounds like you're doing brilliantly, I'm sure you'll get there before you know it. We are all rooting for you.
If anyone lives near an Orangetheory fitness then I would definitely recommend trying it. I used to go and absolutely loved it but unfortunately we have now moved abroad and there isn't one where we live Sad

Pinkroseuk · 04/08/2018 08:28

Thanks for the recommendations @BusyBee27
I get paid next week so going to start having a browse at the machines on amazon.

@PastaSauceHoarder thanks - yes I think that’s it one step at a time. My last period was end of May that was forced by tablets but my last natural period was before I went on the pill about 6 and half years ago! It certainly is a complex thing!

Well done @dottydally we have done the same - DH is T1Diabetic so we changed to the brown version of most things a while back- definitely makes you fuller for longer.
Generally I have cut my food down by half and my exercise isn’t too bad- during working week I probably walk a couple miles each day and weekends we do between 5-10 miles per day so I’m not totally sat on the sofa all day- I think I need a different form of exercise though -
Today we’re going to slimbridge wetlands centre (they have a Lego Trail and DH is a big fan of Lego!) and tomorrow we are cycling with the inlaws which will help. I would love to go swimming more but the nearest pool is 40 mins away and he opposite direction to my work which would mean a 1hr 40 mins drive each evening between the two and then another 40 mins home! I did ask DH to make one in the backgarden but it didn’t go down well!!
Thanks @RandomUsernameHere

I now appear to have written an essay- sorry all- what else is everyone up to this weekend? It’s very hot here again

AssumeItWasSomethingClever · 04/08/2018 08:41

@PastaSauceHoarder your bump is so cute! I'm hoping mines a similar size, then it wouldn't be a problem. We look to be of similar build as well so fingers crossed!
Thanks ever so much for the reassurance x

Tash32 · 04/08/2018 11:21

Hi all 👋.
I hope you don’t mind me joining this post. I am in search for some advice or maybe just someone to have a chat too.

I came off my pill at the beginning of June and still no sign of a natural period 😞. Has this happened to anyone else? I’m starting to worry. Any help would be great xx

BusyBee27 · 04/08/2018 16:06

@dotty: v. impressive, you’re making me feel very lazy!

@pink: no worries and good luck, you can do it! Smile

@tash: I know it’s annoying, but I wouldn’t worry yet - my friend from work (who is also TTC) came off the pill in January and waited about three or four months for her first proper period! They can take a while to get back to normal after all the hormones your body has been taking in (no judgement, I used to take the pill too!) ... best thing to do is to live healthily and try not to stress - easier said than done, I know! Oh and if you’ve had unprotected sex since you came off it, then you may want to take a pregnancy test - you don’t have to have a period after coming off the pill to get pregnant! Flowers

Tash32 · 04/08/2018 21:07

@BusyBee no not pregnant 😞. thank you for replying. That is good to hear it’s good to hear others and their thoughts and experiences. I hope it comes 🙈 it’s just making me so nervous, I’m not used to not knowing and the second guessing of weather all is on working order is a killer!! Xx

PastaSauceHoarder · 04/08/2018 21:46

Hi all, hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!

Hello, @Tash32! As @BusyBee27 said, it can take a while for the hormones to leave your body so I definitely wouldn't worry right now. Smile I get what you mean though, I hate not knowing what my body is doing! I had my coil removed almost six weeks ago now and I still haven't had a period. 🙄 Surely it's not too much to ask for?! 😂
When do you hope to start ttc if you don't mind my asking?

Tash32 · 04/08/2018 22:54

@pastaSauceHoarder no not at all
Do I mind. It’s why I commented. It’s nice to have people to talk to as it’s such a private thing in the outside world. We are trying now. I am 32 my partner is 35 and thought we could literally start ttc and it would happen. But obviously the more I read and experience it’s not that simple. So a little sorry we left it so late but also just wanted to be at our utter best to provide. I hope it’s nothing to worry about though 😞. X

PastaSauceHoarder · 04/08/2018 23:22

I'm sure its absolutely fine, but I understand that you're worried, its only natural! Are you using ovulation strips or temping at all? You could still be ovulating even if AF is nowhere to be seen.
Its frustrating isn't it! We're told growing up that unprotected sex leads to pregnancy, but thats so not always the case (though my husband seems to think so 🙄).
You're still young though so please don't think you've left it late! 💛

cupcakesandglitter · 05/08/2018 01:31

Hi all, sorry I've been MIA - celebrating a birthday!

I'll catch up properly tomorrow buttttt..... me and DH have started TTC!!! 😂😂😂 AF has gone - we're not trying trying but we're not using condoms F I N A L L Y !!!

Sorry I've only popped in for my news, I will talk properly tomorrow!! Hope you're all enjoying the weekend xxxx

@cupcakesandglitter yaye!!! Such wonderful news! Did you say AF has arrived, what CD are you on now? Wishing you a speedy and sticky conception, so glad we have another graduate and I have another TTC buddy 😁 hehe! Xxx

Tash32 · 05/08/2018 10:17

No I haven’t used ovulation strips. I feel very new to all this 😳. Thanks for the reply.
Are you ttc? I’ve been off the pill 2 months so hopefully there’s still time to get my body in working order x

BusyBee27 · 05/08/2018 10:27

Good news @cupcakes, hope you get that BFP soon!

AF has arrived with a vengeance this morning, so guess I’m onto cycle 5 now! Sad I’m going to hop back off the thread for a bit, but I’ll check in again next month to see how you’re all getting along Smile

PastaSauceHoarder · 05/08/2018 10:41

Lots of luck and baby dust to you @BusyBee27, fingers crossed that when you return back to us you have some incredible news to share! 💛

Ahh fantastic @cupcakesandglitter, you must be so excited!! Also hope you had a great birthday! 🎂

We're not ttc just yet @Tash32, we're waiting allllllll the way until November. 🙄But I'm tracking and figuring out stuff now to hopefully increase our chances of conceiving quickly. It might be worth investing in some cheapie strips just to give you an idea of when you're ovulating?

dottydally · 05/08/2018 19:21

Just checking in after a lazy Sunday. This waiting rubbish is getting harder - OH just asked if we could start now. Having a little sulk to myself while he's in the shower Sad also found myself watching pregnancy announcement videos on Facebook and imagining it being me. I know it's my choice and it is for good reason, but I'm not feeling it right now!

Goostacean · 05/08/2018 20:33

Hello! Delurking, having previously posted under a “user12345...” username.

We’re waiting til at least July 2019 in theory, and recently I had been having problems with an arthritic knee, which made me think it may have to be delayed even further. But after a procedure last week my knee is SO much better, and given there is a tiny change it’s hormonally linked.... I’ve also had my implant out!

So still waiting, but am feeling so much more positive generally - and hoping implant removal will also improve my, ahem, interest in DTD. Am refusing to go back on the minipill until knee is resolved.

So happy to hear we’ve had a few BFPs! 😁 Congratulations! Can’t help with OPKs as I’ve never used them...

cupcakesandglitter · 05/08/2018 21:07

@rollerskaterdata yes AF has been and gone, I'm on CD6! Yes I'm excited to have finally joined the TTC crew 🎉

@PastaSauceHoarder thankyou, I've definitely enjoyed myself 😂 very very excited!

@dottydally :( how are you feeling now? Xx
