@crazychemist that's a good idea about the night feeds!

Thanks @NoseringGirl I think we're fairly set on Edinburgh now- just need to book the camp site and get the carter sorted- we're probably going 1st week September so hopefully it won't be too warm!

Jelliestogether · 01/08/2018 20:58

@pink we went to somewhere near Edinburgh 2 years ago and it was lovely! We went first 2 weeks of September too and had the most amazing weather! Not sure if we just got lucky but it made it amazing, we went with the dog and walked for almost the whole time! Was so beautiful!

@crazychemist nice to see you back!!

cupcakesandglitter · 01/08/2018 21:04

@crazychemist that's a good idea, I suppose you have a while to wait and see :) haha that's a brilliant idea!! I tried that with DH though... he sleeps through his alarm and is a deep sleeper. Cats were meowing for food the other night and he jumped out of bed at 2am to go and feed them 😂😂😂😂 it failed

Hi @NoseringGirl !! How are you getting on? X

OP posts:
Pinkroseuk · 01/08/2018 21:22

Sounds great @Jelliestogether I think we're set on Edinburgh :) it's a long drive too so probably not somewhere we would go while a potential little one was small so best to do this summer I think just in case :)

NoseringGirl · 01/08/2018 21:37

Hello @cupcakesandglitter! I'm okay thanks, onto my 3rd cycle of TTC. Got a BFP last cycle but sadly ended in a chemical. My cycle this month seems a bit wacky because of that but trying to keep positive!

cupcakesandglitter · 01/08/2018 22:05

@NoseringGirl sorry to hear that 😩 a BFP on cycle 2 is a plus though, just stay positive and keep TTC! Keep us posted too xx

Gosh I've been out all day and this thread has blown up! I love it!

Firstly hello @NoseringGirl, I'm so sorry to hear about your chemical pregnancy. Flowers That must have been such a disappointment, heres hoping that you get a healthy and happy pregnancy really soon.

Fab list @crazychemist, I may just screenshot it just so I can remember everyones situations. 😂

@cupcakesandglitter those nursery pictures are so sweet!! 💛 You can never go wrong with white.

Edinburgh sounds lovely @Pinkroseuk, funnily enough I was only looking at it for a potential trip myself very recently. I like the idea of going at Christmas time but I bet its wonderful in the summer!

dottydally · 02/08/2018 07:13

Happy Thursday all! We will be onto thread three before we know it.

Hello @NoseringGirl! Lovely to see you back, but sorry to hear about last month. Hopefully things go your way soon Thanks

@cupcakesandglitter I'm sure there's something similar near you though! I know ours is independent but they do seem to be everywhere. What baby clothes do you have? I often find myself browsing cute baby grows in the evenings - I'm not even ttc yet, never mind pregnant! My OH did buy me a baby names book though as I'd had a stressful week and he thought it would cheer me up (which it did!)

@crazychemist I'm with you on having to be the strong one. As far as OH is concerned, we should just start now. The amount of self control (particularly when we are, ahem, getting busy) is horrendous. But yes, @cupcakes, at least when I say go, I know we will! Are you going straight in with OPK's & temping or are you just going to see what happens? I feel like I'll fall into the latter but I also know how impatient I am!

@Pinkroseuk Do you have to pay your maternity pay back if you leave? I know we don't but I think I'm some places do.

@crazychemist Did you decide to give up condoms last night?! Edinburgh sounds good, although I've never been. I'd like to go away (just a weekend in the UK) for OH's birthday later this year, so let me know what it is like!

Jelliestogether · 02/08/2018 09:18

So had a bit of a break through!! Had a conversation last night with OH, officially going to ttc after this cycle! Turns out a lot of his concerns were house related...currently renovating but almost done now until we start the next bit! And he wanted to wait 4 weeks from my return from zika area!

PastaSauceHoarder · 02/08/2018 09:46

Ahh @jelliestogether, thats so exciting!!

BusyBee27 · 02/08/2018 10:26

Hi everyone,

Not sure if anyone will remember me, but I was around for a bit in the early days of the old thread and thought, like @NoseringGirl that I’d drop by to say hello! Sorry to hear about your chemical @Nosering, that’s got to have been difficult Flowers

I’m currently on cycle 4 of TTC and I know AF is on her way any day (got all the usual signs and a BFN to boot!), so will soon be onto cycle 5. Am starting to stress out that it may not happen for us, as I have irregular periods, suspected endo etc., but will keep trying! Any words of wisdom from those of you that have had little ones before or know ladies who have endo, irregular periods etc and still managed to conceive would be gratefully received!

Hope your waiting times are flying by Smile

cupcakesandglitter · 02/08/2018 10:49

I love how much this thread is popping off 😊😊

@PastaSauceHoarder definitely! Pretty much every room in my house is white too 😂😂

@dottydally hopefully, I have a gym membership and have done since November but I just can't bring myself to go, I know that I'm super weak, I'm not ready to go back yet. I'll have a look around 😊

I have a unisex cardigan, a baby grow, some bottoms and a couple of jumpers 😂 I'm a mad cow I know, but I just could resist 😭 I popped into Mango yesterday, and their baby clothes are absolutely unreal, and on sale too... had to stop myself but it's so bloody tempting!

So I was doing OPKs back in June I think it was, but admittedly have stopped - I travel for work and I kept forgetting to pack them and sometimes I would just completely forget to do them. I've been temping whenever I can remember though! Hopefully this month I do it enough to see a pattern, so I have a vague idea for September. I tempted this morning but I think I did it a little too late as it was too low to enter 😩 but AF is here so i know I'm not ovulating I guess.

@Pinkroseuk we have to pay mat pay back if we don't agree to go back and work for a month x

@Jelliestogether omg how exciting!!! Are you ready? 😊

Hi @BusyBee27 👋🏽 are you temping or doing OPKs? X

OP posts:
Pinkroseuk · 02/08/2018 10:55

Yes I'm worried I might have to pay it back- no one in my company has had a child recently as all the females are 60+
I'm thinking of talking to my manager and seeing what the options are? We have no HR department either so it makes things harder!
Will catch up later on the thread- seems a crazy day at work today :) loving how this thread is taking off- onto thread 3 soon probably!

cupcakesandglitter · 02/08/2018 11:11

@Pinkroseuk do you have a contract? Is it mentioned in there? Make sure any agreement you have is written down re mat pay (and maybe join a union too if you're unsure) x

OP posts:
PastaSauceHoarder · 02/08/2018 11:14

No no no @cupcakesandglitter, you are NOT a mad cow! I started collecting up baby bits when I was 17 for goodness sake. 😂
I now have a tiny stash of neutral things put away for my second child too. Its not harmful and it makes you happy, and besides you are going to have a baby someday very soon anyway! 💛

I'd definitely speak to your manager if I were you @Pinkroseuk, just to see if it might clear things up a bit!

No advice I'm afraid @BusyBee27, but I'm wishing you lots of luck and baby dust!

Pinkroseuk · 02/08/2018 11:21

Thanks @cupcakesandglitter and @PastaSauceHoarder. Yes I have a contract but no mention of this.
Another staff member went on paternity recently and they had no idea what he was entitled to or anything so will get in writing!
Thanks x

cupcakesandglitter · 02/08/2018 11:34

@PastaSauceHoarder you've just made me feel so much better 😭 it helps with the wait I think? Or maybe it's making me more impatient 😂

@Pinkroseuk make sure you are familiar with what's typical for mat pay and what you're entitled to! X

My DH comes home every day now asking how the 'girls' are ie. everyone on this thread 😂 I'm so glad we've all got support here! XX

OP posts:
PastaSauceHoarder · 02/08/2018 12:13

Ah I'm glad, @cupcakesandglitter! Maybe a bit of both. Wink But just think how lovely it'll be when you're holding your baby and they're wearing that sweet little cardie or sleepsuit that you bought long before there were ever here - it'll always make you remember just how wanted they were!
Haha your husband sounds lovely. I definitely feel like this thread is a great outlet, I'm scared of being a baby-bore when I talk to my real life friends. 😂 They don't have children and aren't planning on any for a good while!

Good idea to get it in writing, @Pinkroseuk! Will you email them?

Pinkroseuk · 02/08/2018 13:03

@PastaSauceHoarder and @cupcakesandglitter I also have a little stash of clothes - some neutral some not so much but I figured I could always give them to friends. We bought a few on our honeymoon which we think will be lovely when they get worn :)
My husband also says the same!!

Yes I think I will email my line manager- two people have resigned today so might leave it till next week it's all rather manic but I would like to know sooner rather than later :/

crazychemist · 02/08/2018 14:02

Oh pasta, you make me giggle, collecting baby clothes from 17! Grin
At least you'll be prepared.

Woooo jellies! Great news. Best of luck!

Hello to busy and noseringSmile
My cycles were all over the place pre-DD, and coming off the pill they were still irregular, but hang in there, it'll happen! (The evidence is currently snoring on my lap). We didn't really track things, but I did talk to some of my other friends who were irregular and now have kids, and they found temperature tracking really helpful as although they didn't ovulate on the same dY each month, they knew when they were for some targeted DTD!

Alas, DH had an argument with our neighbour last night, so no requirement to discuss the ditching of condoms Blush. We were visiting a potential child minder this morning and being reminded of the cost of childcare might help him to focus!

You know people put those "only xxx Mondays till Christmas" thingies till christmas on Facebook? Obsessed as I am, I read those as "X mondays till ttc" Grin Just can't help myself!

pink, unless your company is VERY small they will have a policy somewhere. you should be allowed to see it if you ask for it.

Jxtina86 · 02/08/2018 17:39

Love how busy this thread is getting! Haven't bought any clothes but i have a mental spreadsheet of costs for pram, cot etc and do check posts on here for recommendations on things (No car, need a pram I can do one handed on the bus and navigate narrow London suburbia and so on).

AF update - nothing not even spotting. No symptoms or anything. I wasn't expecting to be bang on regular straight after the pill but the bloody app seems to have got my hopes up. Thinking of doing a test just to put my mind at rest.

BusyBee27 · 02/08/2018 21:45

Thanks, @crazy - that actually made me feel better!

@cupcakes, I started doing OPKs this month, but that worried me even more, as I never got a positive result Confused I think I will start charting this month, as I just can’t seem to work out what my body is doing! I’ve been avoiding doing it until now, as I’m worried it might confirm I’m not ovulating or something ....

Glad to hear others are finding it hard to resist buying baby things - I walked past some super-cute clothes earlier and was so close to buying some! Don’t want to tempt fate though Blush

PastaSauceHoarder · 02/08/2018 22:09

Gonna go out on a limb here and probably sound a right moron, but how exactly does one go about temp tracking? Blush

What contraception did you used to be on, BusyBee27? If it was hormonal then maybe it hasn't fully left your system yet?

Jxtina86 · 02/08/2018 22:16

@PastaSauceHoarder I got a thermometer off Amazon - it's an oral one and I take my temp every morning before I get out of bed and then put the result into Flo. You've got to do it at the same time (or thereabouts) for it to be accurate and help with predictions apparently. Also read that you should do it when you're still lying down because sitting up can alter your basal temp slightly.

PastaSauceHoarder · 02/08/2018 22:40

Oh god it actually sounds quite complicated... So do you have to do it in the mouth? I have a baby thermometer, would that work? Although it might actually be broken now, my daughter thinks its a bath toy. 🙄
Thanks @Jxtina86, off to Google I go!
