All different times of the day I didn't know I had to check at the same time
I'm only trying to work out for contraception and also for steroids interfering with them
I did them like 36 hours apart in some cases I know I did for the darkest to the next, much paler one

takenitall · 15/07/2018 12:00

@cupcakesandglitter sorry I replied to the wrong thread
That's what I thought too.
It's very hard to pin point
Just trying to work it out. It's confusing trying to use the strips!

Thank you for your help x

AssumeItWasSomethingClever · 15/07/2018 15:28

Just taken a pregnancy test which was negative. I’m a bit gutted to be honest. Now I have no idea why my cycle is so long and why my temperature has remained high.

PastaSauceHoarder · 15/07/2018 16:17

Sorry to hear that, @AssumeItWasSomethingClever. Totally understandable that you're feeling a bit gutted. Flowers
Would it be worth taking another in a few days time maybe?

AssumeItWasSomethingClever · 15/07/2018 16:34

@pastasaucehoarder. Thank you. I think I might buy a couple of clear blue ones as the boots I went to only had their own make and then test again in a couple of days. According time my BBT Graph, I’m currently 25 days post ovulation so I would have though i’d get a clear result by now!

AssumeItWasSomethingClever · 15/07/2018 16:39

I’m at a bit of a loss to be honest. I don’t really know what to do with myself. 😂 I think I’ll wait a couple of days to do another test and then go to the doctors if there’s nothing.

Jelliestogether · 15/07/2018 18:32

@cupcakesandglitter my GP said just to take a woman's multivitamin - suitable for pregnant women as we are trying (basically one without vitamin a) so went to the shops and the only one I could get in my small Tesco was a women's hair skin and nails. But when checked online to the normal women's multivits it was virtually identical. Thanks I'm hopeful it's settling into a slightly shorter cycle too!

@AssumeItWasSomethingClever sorry to hear it was negative!!

cupcakesandglitter · 15/07/2018 19:27

@Jelliestogether ooh okay! I bought something similar from Asda so hopefully it's okay too :) keep forgetting to take them and folic acid though 😩

Ahh sorry @AssumeItWasSomethingClever I'd definitely go to the doctors in a few days though just to be sure? Do you think you'll bring TTC forward now if AF comes? X

OP posts:
Jelliestogether · 15/07/2018 21:44

@cupcakesandglitter you should check the ingredients as the ones I'm taking have the right amount of folic acid in them already so don't need to take extra folic acid as well. I keep mine with my toothbrush so when I brush my teeth I take it! Otherwise I would forget!

KinCat · 16/07/2018 01:56

Sorry the test was negative @AssumeItWasSomethingClever

My temps etc have been all over the place since I started tracking them. I had a positive OPK and EWCM then one day of temperature rise but it quickly dropped right back down. Think I need to get one full cycle of data before I take any conclusions from it though.

I keep my multivitamins with the tea bags and just take one when I'm making my tea in the morning.

Bubblemumma1 · 16/07/2018 08:01

@AssumeItWasSomethingClever sorry about the result.

Thanks for the tip @Jelliestogether!
I’ve been taking my old Pregnacare and it’s been very hit and miss Blush

My last 2 cycles have been 32 then 29 days. The few before that were basically 2 weeks long or even shorter! I’ve had some EWCM this cycle but didn’t use OPKs so I have no idea what’s happening. I’m on CD24 and keen to start the new cycle so I can have a better understanding of what my body’s doing. I’m pretty certain I haven’t started ovulating yet. 5 more months to go!

AssumeItWasSomethingClever · 16/07/2018 09:16

Thanks Ladies. I've just got the warning come up on the app again. Either Naturalcycles is ahead of the game and the PG Tests need to catch up or I've just got a very screwed cycle... Brill.

@Jelliestogether have the multivitamins had any effect yet? (Sorry if you've previously answered this question!) I might get some if so.
Smile

KinCat · 16/07/2018 10:03

@AssumeItWasSomethingClever you should try and get a FRER - they're supposed to be the most accurate ones I think?

AssumeItWasSomethingClever · 16/07/2018 13:05

Thanks @Kincat. I've just bought some. Fingers crossed.

Jelliestogether · 16/07/2018 14:12

@AssumeItWasSomethingClever well I've only been taking them for just over 30 days (one packet completed! Ha) and my cycle was 41 days (the two before were 57 and 46) so I think it's helped but I guess the next cycle will be the main telling.

Ooohh good that the app put the same warning up! Fingers crossed for the result you want! Maybe the test you used wasnt sensitive enough!

Jxtina86 · 16/07/2018 17:18

@AssumeItWasSomethingClever that's good your app warns you. I've just come off the exact same pill and I'm wondering if I will have the same problem. I'm using Flo and tracking BBT. Flo made me put in a cycle length but I obviously have no clue what it could be. We're not being careful or anything from the get go as we're happy for it to happen any point from now but I'm a bit worried that I won't know if it's just my cycle being screwy or if I'm actually pregnant - especially if tests say one thing and the app another! It's very confusing!

AssumeItWasSomethingClever · 16/07/2018 17:54

@Jxtina86 It really is confusing! All OH keeps telling me is that "It's not a NASA Space Launch"... I think it might as well be!

Jxtina86 · 16/07/2018 18:01

@AssumeItWasSomethingClever I tried to explain cycles and ovulation and so on to my DH and he looked at me like I was talking another language. I swear he skipped that biology lesson... or I guess men just don't have this complicated system (funny that...) 🙄

PastaSauceHoarder · 16/07/2018 19:02

I try to explain all the ins and outs to my husband and he just looks blank. He seems to think that unprotected sex = a baby. So infuriating! He'll certainly be puzzled if I don't fall pregnant first try.

crazychemist · 16/07/2018 19:49

assume sorry to hear it was negative. Perhaps it will end up being better timing? It's perfectly normal for a woman to have an anovulatory cycle every now and then, and they are often a bit longer than normal cycles. I doubt a GP would suggest doing anything at this stage, they'll just tell you to wait and keep tracking.

pasta I wouldn't bother explaining! First time round my DH asked to know as little about cycles as possible as he said it completely ruined the romance if he thought I was only after him for his sperm! Grin

Juxtina apps can be helpful for keeping track of fertile window and when to test, but not much use as pregnancy tests. Sadly, a lot of embryos are not viable and don't manage to implant, resulting in a late period - the app would tell you you might be pregnant, but tests rely on measuring hormones triggered by successful implantation. Apps can get your hopes up cruelly.

crazychemist · 16/07/2018 19:52

Everyone around me keeps suspecting I'm pregnant! DD has a tummy bug (which has TOTALLY screwed up potty training...) and I think I've got a touch of it too. As soon as I mention that my stomach is a bit off, people give each other significant looks. Only my mum was brave enough to ask me straight out Grin

Jxtina86 · 16/07/2018 20:28

@crazychemist of course, the sensible side of me knows that the tests are as accurate as you can get. Apps are definitely helpful for tracking - but when you come off the pill it does feel like it's tracking the unknown and throwing up all sorts of suggestions that make your head go huh?! Mine keeps saying stuff about my BBT despite only tracking for a week or so - trying to ignore them as I know it's so early but then my irrational side starts to whisper lol.

Pinkroseuk · 17/07/2018 06:52

@AssumeItWasSomethingClever sorry to hear it was negative.
I have also tried explaining to OH - he thinks if we dtd everyday something will happen quicker!
I'm on cycle day 50 today- if i get to 90 I have one more row of pills to force AF to appear! After that it's waiting for the next hospital appointment in November.
I'm on track for weight loss nearly though - lost 4kg in last 2 weeks 2 days :)

AssumeItWasSomethingClever · 17/07/2018 12:08

@Pinkroseuk. Congrats with the weight loss! That's excellent. How have you done it?
I'm determined to lose 5-7 pounds by my wedding dress fitting in a months time.

Pinkroseuk · 17/07/2018 12:40

Thanks @AssumeItWasSomethingClever :)
I have cut lunch down to just fruit and a yoghurt and cut evening portion sizes down and evening snacks. My husband was diagnosed type 1 diabetic last year and when he needs a snack I have also got into the habit of having one!
Pleased that I have done this without increasing exercise as when I do start more exercise (waiting for the temperatures to drop!) it should help even more :)
I'm sure you will make it happen too - when's your wedding? :)
